SLADE JOSEPH WILSON ♦ MERCENARY/BOUNTY HUNTER ♦ UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
O R I G I N S:
Slade Wilson had a rough life growing up, abused by his father and abandoned by his mother. Slade, rather than endure this abuse any longer and having worked up the courage, he would run away from home and never look back. He would eventually end up in the care of an old couple who took him in after they discovered him near their home. There, rather than abuse him, they would treat him like their own child and would raise him well, and Slade vowed never to like his father. When he came of age, Slade decided to join the military.
Slade did very well in the army, proving to be a capable soldier, and would meet others and befriend other soldiers and even marry a fellow soldier, Adeline Kane. They would later have a son together named Grant. Slade would later be assigned to a covert team named Team 7, where they would first take the name Deathstroke from himself. However, the team would fail and be later disbanded after a mission gone wrong. Later, Slade would volunteer for an experimental procedure that the US hoped would make a supersoldier. Only he survived, and he would, after recovery, test his newfound limits and deal with criminals. When he was arrested a month later, Adeline gave him an ultimatum, continue this new behavior or his family, and Slade would choose his family. However, when he was approached by a member of his old team, William Walsh came to him about a job dealing with a scientist who if allowed to testify to Congress about the supersoldier experiment. It would place his family in the crosshairs, and he would be offered a million dollars for the job. He accepted and lied to Adeline about the true nature of his leaving. Slade would be given what would be his signature suit.
The job would succeed, and when Slade returned home, a suspicious Adeline questioned him about where he was. Which grew into an argument, and he would give in and tell Adeline the truth. This truth ended their marriage, which devastated Slade. This was made worse when he found out that William lied to him and that he and his family would have been fine despite the scientist's testimony. Now filled with guilt and remorse over his actions. Slade, after a long time of thinking, decided on a new path for himself. While he would support himself as a bounty hunter and mercenary. However, he would be selective and only choose jobs that aligned with his morals. Slade is committed to getting revenge on William and finding out who he was really working for. As Slade would discover, finding William and who he really works for is just the beginning.
S A M P L E P O S T:
It has been a long day for Slade as he entered to his hideout, one of several. It was a dark and rainy night, and Slade could hear the rain fall on the old roof of his hideout. An old abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city, which Slade made sure was safe enough for him to operate from and out of view.
Another bounty, another job done. He thought to himself as he walked over to bed and sat down on it. Even if this bounty was a piece of trash and seemed like an easy jig. This bounty, Micheal Cole, was more of a problem than he thought. But, at the end of the day, Michael is behind bars, and he gets his payday. Still, at least now he can rest a bit and relax after a hard day's work.
As Slade slowly took off his armor and weapons, starting with his helmet. When his hand reached for his belt, Slade, for a moment, as if by instinct, reached for the hidden compartment in his armor and took out the photo of him with his family. At that moment, everything seemed to slow, and small tears started to form on his face. He messed up, that is clear, and he trusted the wrong person, and now the thing he cared for the most hates him. Slade's saddened voice spoke that single name, "Adeline," and then another, "Grant." Though he felt like crying, he knew he should not right now and calmed himself. However, his feelings remain the same. Slade does not know if he can reconcile with Adeline and be a family again, but that is something he will think about once he is done with William.
Anger slowly replaced sadness as Slade thought of that name. The man he thought he would trust ended up lying to him, and it cost him his family. Slade is not one to kill civilians or innocents, and he did so on a lie. He put the photo back in its hidden compartment and put his gear away. However, he kept his pistol and knife on his. Now in his civilian clothes, Slade walked over to his desk and accessed it in short order. Checking his bank account, and now, with his new funds, it is time to continue his mission. Find William Walsh and find out who he works for, and get revenge.
As Slade started his research, his encrypted phone rang, and it was someone he could trust. Someone who was also tricked by Walsh. Slade answered in a calm tone, "What is it, Wintergreen?"
Hearing that familiar British accent, "Slade, I have good news. I got a lead on Walsh."
Slade smiled in a way he had not done in a long time, "Wintergreen, tell me everything."

Okay, I did not know that Deadpool was being played, and I am not dead set on playing as him, though Slade would be a good idea. I might have an idea for him that might work since Sep is supportive of Slade. So how goes nothing.
After looking at this thread a couple of times, I might as well post here if I do not join. I had some character ideas for this one, and I might have one that could work or at least a working idea. A version of Deadpool, a bit more serious, who got cancer later in life when he got a family and would go through the experimentation as normal and be somewhat insane and fourth walling but lost most of his memories after it. He still remembers his family and his name and is driven to recover his lost memories while fighting crime at the same time. .
Still thinking of a solid concept, but that is one.
History, a topic that can either interest someone or bore them to death. A subject that spans an immersive length of human history and before it. But, if you try to deviate from what is accepted as history by scholars and archeologists. Then you are laughed at, and your theories are considered pseudoarchaeology.
But while some theories might just be false, like aliens building the Great Pyramids of Giza or Bigfoot. There are ideas, objects, and even places where accepted history cannot explain or try to deny that hint at something else. A hidden or forgotten past that most have barely scraped the surface.
There are those who do try to uncover this lost history of the world. But you have not heard of them, for they operate as secret societies. These secretive groups are dedicated to uncovering this lost history. However, what they do with this lost knowledge is what divides them. Some seek power, some seek knowledge, and some seek more.
However, one thing that has been discovered by all who seek this ancient past, are the Descendants. People whose ancestors come from this lost past and whose bloodlines give them a power that is separate from magic and have unlocked the use of it. Those who are Descendants are coveted by these secret societies for not only their power but also their bloodlines gives them an unexplained connection to relics from this forgotten era.
The secret society called the Seekers is one group that seeks to uncover the truth and its connection to Descendants. As the group was founded by a Descendant. The Seekers, with its resources and Descendants. Try to discover the lost past of humanity and learn more about the past and what it means to be a Descendant.
Rules: 1. Expected to follow standard site rules 2. No godmodding or powergaming or etc... 3. No OP characters 4. A max of two characters 5. Minimum of one paragraph 6. No time or mind control powers
Overview
Hello, and welcome to the rp. So, in this RP, you will be playing as a Descendant, a normal person, or, if you wish, an unawakened Descendant. A Descendant person whose bloodline dates to an unknown ancestor from the forgotten era of human history, and gives them powers and a connection to ancient relics. An unawakened Descendant is a Descendant that has yet to awaken their bloodline's power but still has a small connection to relics. Mainly those that are related to their bloodline. Your character will be a member of the Seekers, either a new member or already apart of the order.
When it comes to your power, it can be anything but, time or mind control powers. Also it should be a hint to what your character's ancestor is. While you can decide what the ancestor is, you instead of writing it in your character sheet. You PM me your idea for an ancestor after you finish the cs. Now, what who and what ancestor is, it could be anything. A powerful spirit, an elemental, a powerful mortal, a forgotten god. Just something or someone that would leave a mark on the ancient past in some way or would be important in the ancient past and had a power or ability that could be inherited.
Now, during the course of the rp, magical non-human races and beings will be encountered, and magic is a thing in the setting though underground, and said magic is rare in modern humans. Though character wise the rp will be human only.
Also, if you wish, I would be open to side arcs that deal with a person's ancient ancestor or perhaps a more personal one, like finding a certain artifact, for example.
Now that is it and I am looking for a co-gm. If anyone wants the job, then either say something in the thread or send it to me by PMs.
Secret Societies
The Seekers are the youngest of the secret societies. Only three hundred years old, but a remnant of the older secret society, the Order of the Ancients, which is defunct. This secret society was founded by the Croatian Descendant Jakov Jurakić in the aftermath of the destruction of the Order of the Ancients. While Seekers' ideals and structure are based on the Order of the Ancients, and most of their knowledge of the forgotten world comes from surviving Order of the Ancients' archives. What makes them different from the dead order is the fact that they focus more on discovering the past and uncovering the forgotten past's connections to Descendants, as well as why this lost era spawned their creation. They are currently led by Descendant Zdenko Jurakić.
The Lost Masons are a splinter group from the Freemasonry that broke off about five hundred years ago when some members first discovered a lost-era artifact and became focused on studying it and finding more. While they retain some of the structure and traditions of the Freemasons. They have widely developed on their own and are distinct from the Freemasons despite having similar names. The Lost Masons seek lost era artifacts and knowledge simply to hoard them and use them for their own purposes. What those purposes are is unknown. While not an actively hostile group toward other secret societies, unlike the Order of the Fallen. They can reluctantly work with others if the conditions are right for it. They are led by Grand Master Oskar Zeisl.
The Masters is a secret society that is the most aggressive in their gathering of lost era artifacts and lore. Their goal is to use the lost knowledge and artifacts to be masters of humanity and guide them toward a better future, or at least their version of that future. A vision not shared by most who know of the group's ways and how they negatively view the other secret societies. While they can cooperate to a degree with others under the right conditions, given the Masters' stances, they may not be trusted. They are currently led by Elder Hélène Trouvé.
The Order of the Fallen is the most secretive of the secret societies. Not much is known about the Order of the Fallen. One thing that is known is that their interest in the forgotten past is based on religious ideology. What is known about them is that while the smallest of the four secret societies, they are the most committed and have a library of knowledge that is even greater than the Seekers. Plus, they seem to worship an unknown god or unknown pantheon, and they are hostile to the other secret societies. They are led by a person known as the Archon, and little else is known about them.
It feels so weird to be home after so long. Andrés thought as he was in his room, sitting at a desk while working on his laptop. An unexpected feeling since coming home and readjusting to island life. He would realize that he missed some aspects of island life, such as the cool ocean air, beautiful nature, and, more importantly, no traffic.
Still, things have changed since leaving for the mainland, and Andrés is just glad that he has a place to stay and can still do his job while he is here. The perks of being a comic book artist. He just needs a laptop and his drawing tools, and he is good. Though Andrés has yet to show his family, the comics he is working on and have helped to earn him a living. He knows his family is not keen on comic books like he is and is not sure how they would view it. Andrés knows how his father would feel, however.
But, after some time at work, Andrés saved his work and closed his laptop. He did a long stretch as he finished his work for the day and now thought of what to do next. Both his mother and sister were out of the house at the moment, and that left him with the house to himself. He looked at his room, which was spacious, and he had to share it with his sister. Andrés did not have a problem with that, but it reminded him of the state of the family.
Then he thought about it and remembered how, despite being on the island for some time. He had not really explored it since coming back and see what was new and what was still around. The day was still young, and he might as well have seen the Isles while he was staying here. Maybe he will see if the Hidden Retreat Cafe is still as good as he remembered, given how much his mother cared for it.
So Andrés decided that he had enough of the house for today, and it was time to see the island. He would depart the house and venture out. Maybe he will see an old face or some old friends that are still on the Isles, who knows? But it is time to get reacquainted.
Nakai had at this point, had remained silent so far. But his attention was there, and his eyes and ears dutifully watched and listened to what was happening. To think they were going to starve because of three men, though if they ate that much food, then their appetite must be large. Still, he agreed to the words of Walking-Lion. Perhaps if they send parties forward to new places then they may have a chance to regain what precious food they have lost to these three men.
But now he has a choice, does he join the young of the tribe and hunt down these thieves? Nakai is a shaman, not a warrior, and he knows this well, but he does know how to defend himself. Still, is it his responsibility as a shaman to hunt down the thieves and bring them to justice or try and find new sources of food? It is a tough choice he has, and after thinking about it, Nakai had made his choice.
Speaking with calm as he spoke up, "I will go with the hunters and explore new lands in the hope they have food. Either fish or game or crop. I will ask the spirits to guide us in this task."
