Had a glimpse over the concept. Seems interesting, and I may have an idea brewing for a medical officer. What's the stance one prosthetics? In terms of how advanced those are?
Cybernetics is a thing, and they are advanced enough that a prosthetic is equal to a natural human hand or body part. In terms of strength and function. But not better yet.
Standing at 6'2 and having a above average build. Mathis has short white hair with a similar matching white goatee, along with brown eyes. As someone befitting his position, Mathis has the stance of a gentleman. A trait that his parents honed in and seems on the outside of someone of a more noble leaning than most.
Personality
Mathis was raised by his parents to be a gentleman, and it shows. As he is polite and generally pleasant to be around. Not one to rush decisions, and is calm during a crisis. Though he has become more cautious after nearly dying to pirates and is not one to take risks lightly.

Officer's pistol, a military encrypted data pad that contains the info needed for his job, along with other personal info. Saxophone(keeps in his personal quarters), and a high-tech watch that was a gift from his sister.
Background
Mathis was born on Titan in the Sol system to one of the Old Guard. The Old Guard are families who were among the first to settle Titan and had become wealthy and connected in the Sol System. Mathis grew up in the lap of luxury and could have had anything he wanted. But Mathis did not fancy the wealth or power his family had, since he wanted more in life than expensive vehicles and parties. He wanted to make a name for himself and do something more than what his parents offered him.
This path Mathis took led him to join the Navy, and through probably connections his parents had. He managed to earn a place at an officer's academy on Mars. Where he would do well for himself, and eventually he graduated and was assigned to various posts. During one posting, he would meet his future wife, Analia Fox. Which they would marry four years later and have two kids together.
However, Mathis, despite rising through the ranks and doing well for himself. Things would take a turn during an anti-piracy patrol with his ship, and they were ambushed by pirates and were boarded. While the pirates were defeated and killed. Mathis was badly wounded and has to undergo several surgeries to keep him alive.
Which his superiors recommended that he retire due to his injuries, and while Mathis did think about retiring. When he heard of the Pathfinder Initiative, he thought about one last voyage, one last mission before he retired. So after contacting Pathfinder Initiative, they approved of his credentials and assigned him to the Pathfinder-class deep space cruiser, the Arcadian. Where he hopes to not just further humanity's journey on the final frontier, but also discover new worlds and more.
Space, the endless sea of stars of the night sky, has fascinated humanity since we gazed up at the stars. Ever curious what was out there and if humanity was alone in the universe. Which as humanity developed and as their attention shifted from the Earth to the stars. Starting with the colonization of the Moon in 2030 and later Mars in 2036. Did humanity find an answer to one age-old question.
For as the rest of the solar system was being colonized under the United Nations of Earth and ships were sent to explore and colonize Pluto. A crashed ship of alien origin was discovered. Estimated to be a thousand years old, and its discovery. Sparked a wave of excitement and drive to explore past the solar system.
The ship, while ancient, humanity was able to recover it and reverse engineer parts of the ship. Mainly, it's FTL Drive and led to the creation of the Argos FTL drive. Which enables ships to travel faster than light by entering a dimension called hyperspace. This started a wave of colonization as ships travelled and found habitable planets.
By 2180, humanity has expanded to twenty systems, and in order to properly manage these new systems. The United Nations of Earth reformed into the United Systems Federation or the USF. Starting a new age for humanity.
Under the USF in 2185, a new initiative was made to explore beyond the USF's borders and venture into deep space. Called the Pathfinder Initiative, under it, a new type of ship, the Pathfinder class cruiser, was built from scratch. Specifically designed for traveling in deep space for years at a time. After five years, the newly christened Arcadian was finally finished and would start her maiden voyage from the outer world of Kalos.
While the ship's mission is to explore and find other signs, and maybe make first contact with an alien race. The truth is that the crashed ship found on Pluto was only the beginning, and as the Arcadian explores the galaxy. The crew will discover that the galaxy is not what they thought it was, and something very bad has happened to the galaxy.
But whether or not the crew of the Arcadian can discover the truth of what has happened to the galaxy and survive where others have failed remains the question.

Overview
Hello and welcome to the rp. In this rp, the year is 2190, and you will be playing as the members of the exploration ship, the Arcadian. The first of the newly created Pathfinder class and sent out to explore space beyond the United Systems Federation's space. Unaware of what lies beyond Federation space. So, just some hints of what the crew of the Arcadian will find. The galaxy has been through a cataclysmic event that left ruin and destruction. So expect ruins, space wrecks, and possibly alien groups descended from the few survivors left after this cataclysmic event, and perhaps more. Which the crashed ship found on Pluto was just the start of trying to figure out what had happened to the galaxy.
Now, about the player characters, people will play roles listed in the roles list below. Which you would normally be the head of that department role unless you do not wish it. You can play a role I did not list if it makes sense for a new role to be on the ship. So when making a character, you can add lore to the rp as long as it does not contradict anything that I have written so far, and I am okay with it. Which any role not filled by a player will be filled by an npc unless someone later joins and takes on the role. For character pics, go for drawn pics.
Arcadian
The Arcadian is the first of the newly created Pathfinder-class deep space cruisers. Housing a max of 500 personnel. Including support teams and a platoon of 50 marines. The Pathfinder has a hangar that houses up to four shuttles/dropships. Which shuttle is the Ranger class shuttle that is capable of entering and leaving the atmosphere of a planet. The Arcadian has several amenities available to the crew during their journey among the stars. Like two mess halls, a medbay, an engine room, an engineering station, two movie theaters, two bars, a gym, a hydroponics bay, a bridge, sleeping quarters, a meeting room, a laboratory, a training room, an armory, and an observation room. Along with defences like five railgun turrets, missile launchers, and point defence turrets. Which the ships has a superconducting magnetic energy storage battery that is semi-connected to the fusion reactor. In order to power the ship's weapons.
United Systems Federation
The United Systems Federation was formed in 2180 by the reformation of Humanity's previous government, the United Nations of Earth. It was formed in 2060 after the events of World War 3, which while not a nuclear war. Still caused damage to the planet and convinced the victors that a united Earth was needed unless another World War caused more death and destruction to Earth.
Though a young nation, the United Systems Federation is stable and is prospering. Even sponsoring scientific and cultural projects. Along with establishing the Pathfinder Initiative, whose goal is to explore space beyond the Federation's boundaries, and is in high spirits about the mission.
Technology
The noteworthy technology in the settings is as follows. FTL, magnetic weapons(railgun, coilgun, etc...), AI but limited, power armor, artificial gravity, cybernetics, stasis pods, and fusion reactors.
Though the Arcadian has more advanced versions of known tech, and acts as a test bed for more advanced technologies. Like a more advanced Argos drive, AI-assisted surgery, and sensors that can detect potential turbulence and gravity wells while in hyperspace and can detect structures or wreckages in either space or on a planet.

Both Leo and Sofia were wide-eyed as they learned about what happened at camp before their arrival. While Sofia did know some things about camp, like when Hades kidnapped Andy. She did not have any knowledge about an attack on the camp and people dying. That was news to her, and suddenly, training did not seem like a bad idea. Though Sofia might need to talk to her mother sometime about this. To see what her thoughts are about it, and it has been a while since they last talked. Maybe heard how the afterlife is like this time around since last time... it was mainly about Hades and camp.
For Leo, he would have never thought about the camp being attacked and people dying. What Duke said to him on his first day about not causing trouble and the walls around camp now make sense. Which Leo recalled how he saw one camper with only one arm last night, and did he lose his arm during the attack? Probably, he thought, and training did not seem that bad right now. Making sure they are ready if there is another attack. Leo sighed, Ares wanted him here after all of that? He guessed Ares has his reasons.
"No, we should know about what happened before we arrived, and some stuff makes sense now." Leo spoke up.
"Yeah, do not be sorry, Veronica, and I am glad you made it out alive from that attack."
Sofia would have said more, but then River spoke up and explained the training course. Even doing the course himself, and how everyone has fifteen minutes to do the course.
"River, eh, nice to have a name to a face." So he did see River last night. Leo thought, the guy who stayed silent. He does not seem like the quiet type and a son of the sea as well. That matters little to Leo, thought he did think it something that out of the three camp leaders, two were sons of Poseidon.
Sofia stayed silent as River talked and watched the others do the course. When it came time for her to do the course. Sofia took a deep breath, "Well, here goes nothing." She stood up and proceeded to the course.
"Good luck Sofia," Leo added as she left and would watch her perform. Though she did take a long look at the only male in her group. Mason, her sibling. Sofia now has a name to a face and is glad she knows what Mason looks like. Now, to figure out a good opportunity to talk to him. Since Sofia figured that now is not the best. Especially when everyone is hot and sweaty.
For Sofia, she tried not to focus on how the others in her group were faring. Since that would distract, though, she did see Nelly doing a lot better. then her. The first part of the course, the tire walk, she was decent at, and fared semi-decent at the log jumps. Though the latter, higher ones were a challenge for her. Sofia really struggled when she had to climb. Starting with the rope climb and but faced better at the swimming portion. Which Sofia was glad for, surprisingly, and was the easiest part of the course for her.
Sofia would make it, barely, but she made it nonetheless. After doing the course, Sofia returned to where Leo and Veronica were and sat down. Clearly out of breath, "I did it, I fricking did it."
"See, you can do it and overcome it." Leo smiled, "good job out there."
"Thanks Leo," still out of breath. She rested and watched the others. Then came his and Veronica's turn. "Looks like you two are up and good luck." Granted, Leo probably did not need it, but she wanted to say it anyway.
"Thanks," he said simply, and took his place with Veronica and focused on the course. Taking a deep breath, and once the signal was given, he pushed forward.
The tire walk was easy for him, same for the log jumps. Looking like he was barely breaking a sweat. The only parts of the course that slowed him down were the low crawl and the balance beam parts. The low crawl took him a moment to adjust to and get past. Same with the balance beam part. Leo did not wish to get wet but drove and swam nonetheless. Which the last parts of the course were easy for him. Finishing at a very good time, and Leo was proud of himself.
When Leo returned to the place where Sofia was and sat down. He simply said, "That was fun." Leo said casually.
Sofia chuckled semi-jokingly,"I am sure Leo." Given his muscles and build, it would be easy for him.
So the pair would watch the rest of the campers do the course and wait to see how Veronica would do.
