HEROIC

Modern day Chicago. Heroes have been around since the dawn on mankind. Either through random mutation, science going too far, or magic, those with powers have always been revered. Or feared.

Our heroes live in and protect this city from a multitude of crime. Naturally, they all see each other around from time to time. They've heard the rumors, the gossip, the theories. But they don't really know each other. Not yet.

When evidence of a new and very dangerous crime syndicate emerges, our heroes meet up either by chance or recruitment. They will fight tooth and nail together to keep their city safe.

Major plot developments should be discussed among the players prior.

You may add your own side characters as you please.

Do not kill or maim another player's character without their permission.

Please be able to post at least 3 times a week and let the group know if you need a break for whatever reason.

Third person, past tense only please.

HEROIC

The busy streets of Chicago never seem to rest; and neither does the crime that plagues them. Luckily for them, they have heroes who put their lives on hold to help fight for their beloved home. When a new crime syndicate appears on the scene overnight, it's up to four unlikely allies to team up and make this city a little safer. These four heroes don't know much about each other, aside from word on the street, but they will have a long, hard fight ahead of them. Can they trust each other to have their backs?

Just their powers is fine. In the character tab of the official thread, you'll be able to add characteristics that are "public knowledge" aka, what our characters will already know about yours.

I'd be interested in this! Always love a good superhero RP, and small group RPs are fun. Do you want us to PM you ideas right away, or is this a true interest check more just to test the waters for people?

You can send them now if you like. I'll wait for at least three players to send their character info before I make the official thread. That way I know how many people we'll be working with.

I like that idea. Can you provide any details of the setting, like is world history fundamentally the same as RL? Have supers been around for days/years/decades? Will the game be based in a single city, or be moveable? Do supers typically do the code name/spandex/secret ID thing, or does it vary a lot?

Setting will be modern day in a world with the same history as irl (minus covid because fuck that)

I'd say supers have probably been around since the beginning of time, but with the expansion of technology, they have become more well known, more common, and perhaps even more powerful.

Probs a single city.

Secret identities will definitely be a thing, but its up to the individual

Small Group Superheroes

I'm looking to make a small group superhero RP, around four or so players. These heroes won't know each other beforehand, and as such, won't know much about each other. But they must band together against a common enemy.

Since this RP will have so few players, I ask that you ensure that you will be able to reply on a regular basis. At least 3 times a week, minimum.

I also ask that you show good writing, grammar, and can throw in ideas to move the plot.

The sign up process will be a lil unusual. Since our heroes don't know each other, I want them to be almost completely explored through the RP. I'll ask that you send me details on your characters powers and weaknesses, to ensure they aren't too OP, and you can post "public knowledge" of your hero in the characters tab. Mostly things others would have heard about them via media or the grapevine. Are they an asshole? Do they have a criminal past? Do they sleep around? Just the usual gossip.

Anyone interested?
