Three Steps Far — Roleplayer Guild

Hello hello!  I am snek.  Once upon a time, I was pretty active on here, but when real life took a turn, I kind of... forgot about this.  Sorry to all those left behind.  Seriously.  But!  Now I am back, and better than ever, so I thought I'd make a return to my roots!  And now it's time for a whole lot of RP!

A bit about me, I've been roleplaying since I was a wee snekling, all the way back in vanilla WoW!  I went through my awkward phase, my cringe phase, my extra cringe phase (please don't ask), and now I think I've got a very solid grasp on roleplay as a whole!  Forums, games, post-by-posts, and whatever you have, I've probably done at least once!  I'm by no means an expert, but I'm confident we can have fun together!

I've always loved telling stories, so learning to roleplay was a passion that grew every day.  And now, I write them regularly!  I've DM'd for multiple D&D campaigns, most of which did NOT end in a TPK!  Let's... not mention the one that did.  Totally not my fault, I swear!  Even so, we all had fun.

My fondest memories are of roleplaying with friends, and now I hope to make new ones here with all of you!  So, come say hello and let's talk play!  I'll be waiting~

Hiss hiss hello!  Once upon a time, I had a pretty active account here!  Then life got busy, and I forgot about it, and basically I went into hibernation.  But now I'm back and looking to engage once again!  And you, lovely person, look like someone I'd love to play with!  So, let's start talking about what we can do and where we can go with this!

I'll start with the rules to get them out of the way.  I hold both myself and my partners to these rules, so please don't think I'm being picky!

1. Fun is number one!  It seems silly to put it here, I know, but it's important to me that we all have fun with our RP!  If we're not enjoying ourselves, what's the point?  So no matter what, remember that having fun is the most important thing!

2. Real life comes first!  I'm a working adult, and life happens.  If it happens for you, please don't hesitate to tell me that you need to go on break!

3. Post at least semi-frequently!  I don't expect anyone to be sitting on the Guild 24/7, but at the very least, I'd like partners who can post at least once per day!  If you have to pause, of course, just say the word!  Otherwise, I'd like our RP to move as frequently as we can make it.

4. Communication is key!  No matter what's happening ICly, we should always feel like we can be open with each other OOCly!  Does something make you uncomfortable?  Or maybe you want more of this instead of that?  Partners should always be able to speak openly and honestly with each other about the RP!

5. No step on snek!  >:V

6. High Casual as a minimum!  I do prefer that content be deep and rich, as do we all, so I'd like my partners to be able to write at a capable level!  I'm not going to sit here and nit-pick everything, don't worry!  But I would rather not be dealing with poor grammar across two or three lines of text per post.

7. Quality over quantity!  I don't particularly care for minimum post requirements, though I'm happy to meet yours if you have one!  I simply believe that a single line of powerful writing is more valuable than three pages of fluff and filler.  No matter the length, all posts should give the other person(s) something to work off of!

8. Have fun!  Ha ha~  You weren't expecting the double rule!  But seriously, the ultimate goal is to have fun, so if you're not enjoying something, PLEASE say so!  I won't be offended, I swear!

9. In regard to mature content: I am always open to it, but I request that we discuss it prior to playing!  If we want things to get adult, I am open to F/F and Fu/F!  While I'm happy to play male characters, I would rather not engage them in sexual scenes, so any such scene will simply fade to black.

10. Gary is forbidden!  He knows what he did.

And now that that's out of the way, let's get to the good stuff: things I wanna do!  Any roles that are underlined are roles that I would like to play, but for the most part, I'm very open to either side!

Human x Genie
A down-on-their-luck, rather plain person happens upon a magic lamp!  Inside is a genie that promises to grant not just three, but ten wishes!  Of course, genies can be dangerously tricky.  Can the human use this power for their own gain, or will the clever genie make them regret tempting fate?  ...Or will wacky and unexpected adventures ensue?  Who knows!

Average Person x ...Well, a whole world!
Yup, it's the classic, the staple, the most well-known unknown of all: Isekai!  An ordinary person ends up lost in another world, and with startling new powers to boot!  What kind of world is it?  What will they find there?  ...What will find them?  The answer... is up to us!  I'm happy to DM for this one, if you like!

Virtual sandbox to the extreme!
Imagine a game that promised to redefine virtual reality by giving players full access to the world, and YOU got invited to the beta testing!  Players can build things, break things, develop skills...  The possibilities are endless!  There's just the sliiiight issue of players finding out they're locked into the game until the beta testing period ends.  In the real world, it'll only be a few hours, but in the game, it'll take... ten years?!

This is a bigger project I'd love to try!  We could do all manner of things, like build a city, or a guild, or just explore the wide open world together!  We'll basically act as double DMs for a range of adventures, making our own NPCs and encounters!

Students of a Magic Academy
Our very first year of magic academy!  How exciting!  Though one student, having been raised in a magic-gifted family, is clearly doing a lot better than the newcomer - someone who's never known magic was real until now!  This one's a bit Harry Potter inspired, but with a little less doom and gloom and a bit more bright and playful!  Mishaps, not near-death experiences!

Solo Player vs. DM!
The Jolly Jester is a world-famous traveling carnival, and it's just recently come to your town!  This carnival has everything: fun games, exciting attractions, all the unhealthy food you could possibly eat, and so much more!  Everyone has a fun time at this carnival, and stories of it spread like wildfire!  ...Of course, not all of those stories were positive.  Some spread some very unsettling rumors, like disappearances and mysterious sightings.  What's really going on in this carnival?  Do you dare to find out?
This is a fun little mystery game that could go a lot of ways!  Horror?  Comedy?  Lighthearted and whimsical?  Dark and scary with danger lurking?  If any of those excite you, let's talk!

Royal Prince(ss) vs. Mighty General
Two countries vie for power and resources in a massive war, and the decisive battle approaches.  On one side is the prince(ss) of Country A, ready to lead their troops in their father's name!  Opposing them is Country B, sending their most capable general to lead their grand army.  Who will win?  How will this battle shape the future?  And most importantly... who is that lurking in the shadows, seeking to undo both countries at once?
This idea is something I'd like to do with someone capable of playing both a character and a nation as a whole.  We'll not only be directing our characters and their close allies, we'll also be creating our own nations to pit against one another!  Can our heroes work together amidst warring factions to uncover the truth before it's too late?  Let's find out!

Forbidden Friendship!  And maybe something more...
For as long as written history, humans and monsters have been at war.  Brave adventurers set forth from the human capital to engage and hunt down the most ferocious and terrible, while monsters form war bands to strike out at the human settlements!  It's a battle that won't end until one side is wiped out entirely!  In the midst of that, an adventurer eager to prove themselves engages with a mighty monster foe, but a careless attack by one side causes the ground to cave in, trapping them both in an ancient ruin long buried!  But what is this?  The pictures on the walls...  Are those humans and monsters... living together??  What ancient history is this?  Is this how things were before the war?  And most importantly, what will you do with this knowledge?
The classic Romeo and Juliet, though hopefully with a happier ending!  Our characters will break the mold of their mutual societies and hopefully bring them both together again, though there will be fierce opposition first!  Can they succeed?

What list would be complete without these?  Here are some worlds I'd love to play in!  Though please keep in mind that I heavily prefer original characters to canon ones!
