Whoa. That was a big worm that just burst from the wall. And judging from the tremors that Xavier currently feels, that wasn't the only one. Remembering that his character had a movement ability, Xavier tried really hard to use his Light Dash. Fortunately, after realizing he had to actually move to use it, he dodged backwards just in time for the worm to burst the ground.

"Note to self: Move."

On the upside, he wasn't eaten like those standing around him. On the downside, there was a giant worm of death here. So yeah. There's a problem.

Xavier, now remembering that actual moves are a thing, tries to activate his "consecutive hits" ability. A barrage of punches seemed to be just what was need right now. Well, and some air freshener from all the corpses, but that can wait.

Arsenal re-adjusts the GoPro on his chest, then checks his phone to look at the chat. Messages fly by from the thousands of people watching, all trying to communicate with the man himself. Of course, Leo can't read them all, but some people opt to donate money in exchange for a special shoutout. That's what the bluetooth he's wearing is for. Arsenal re-reads a few messages.

CatchingZZZ ($20): Another action-packed night! Good Luck, Arsenal!

Bamboozled3395 ($15): Ey fam, any chance you could use a net arrow? Your trick arrows are the best ilu <3

Ligma420 ($1): Arsenal sucks Arsenal sucks Arsenal sucks wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww oh yes daddy

"Oof, looks like the mods gotta take care of that one..."

He puts his phone away and looks down from his rooftop perch at the meeting below. 10 guys, 5 from both groups. Two are meeting in the middle, a briefcase held by one as the other opens a trunk, showing the illegal contraband inside. What a lucky break, stumbling upon this. Arsenal readies his glue-trap and flash arrows, holding the two in his right hand as he steadies his shot.

"Now, as I've said before, what's about to happen isn't for the faint of heart. If you're under 18, you shouldn't even be watching, and if you're a real fan, you'll stop... Or at least watch with your parents."

As the trunk closes and the briefcase changes hands, Arsenal looses the Glue trap arrow. It hits the case directly and explodes on impact, trapping the briefcase and the men holding it against the trunk, in the special, quick-hardening polymer. The group doesn't even have time to be confused before Arsenal shoots the Flash Arrow, impacting the ground and exploding, blinding them all.

Arsenal fires a few broadheads in quick succession, hitting 4 grunts in the chest with arrows. Usually, that's enough to keep them down, but the third required a double-tap, another arrow flying into his abdomen. That put him down.

RETURNING FIRE

Arsenal moved out of the way as a volley of bullets sprayed his last location. Flash must've worn off. Probably wasn't bright enough. He made a mental note to add more aluminum, as he fired another arrow at the 5th criminal's arm, causing him to drop the rifle. The next one hit him in the chest, and he wasn't a problem anymore. 3 to go.

These last 3, however, were actually smart enough to take cover from the volley of arrows. They were hiding. Arsenal nocked an arrow, and made his way down the fire escape. He wasn't halfway down when he felt it.

SURPRISE ATTACK

Arsenal's arrow was already fully drawn when the man popped out from behind the nearby dumpster, and before he even pulled the trigger, an arrow was in his chest. That one was a little bit close to the heart. The hospital's gonna have a busy night. Arsenal continued his way down, hearing another message in his ear as he slid down the ladder:

Execute_iveAction ($50): My main man Arsenal, cleaning house! Doing what the cops wont.

Ah yes, a good donation to respond to. Arsenal readies another broadhead.

"Hey, guys, just because I'm risking my life doing this doesn't mean that the police-"

SURPRISE ATTACK

The 7th criminal charges Arsenal with his bat, only to be met with a quick arrow in the knee. He trips up and falls to the ground, shouting and clutching his knee.

"... Doesn't mean that the police don't risk their lives everyday to keep us safe. I'm just a bit more direct, that's all. Don't try this at home."

Arsenal approaches the car just as the two men shatter the glue. It can't even hold two men? He makes another mental note to change up the formula of the glue. It's still too brittle when it dries.

The two men look at Arsenal, then both start fighting over the briefcase. Well, at least they're still attached one way. He takes this opportunity shoot them both with his broadheads, firing both at the same time in a split. Both men go down, groaning in pain, and dropping the case.

"I wouldn't try to pull those out, if I were you. Very painful, and you'll probably bleed out. Just stay down."

Arsenal picks up the briefcase, sheathing his bow onto his back. Last guy probably booked it anyway. He opened it up and took a look inside, making sure the GoPro on his vest can see as well. The case contained a vast amount of money, with the case looking like someone really liked Benjamin Franklin. He could already tell the chat was going crazy. It is tempting...

SNEAK ATTACK

Arsenal had a hand on his pistol as he spun around, drawing it an instant and firing three shots into the man's chest, causing him to fall over and drop his tire iron. Those shots definitely punctured both lungs. Arsenal gets a better look, and the man can't be much younger than he is. Definitely not as smart, coming back instead of running.

"Oh, god damnit. You startled me! Look at what you made me do! You'd better pray the ambulance gets here quick."

As if on cue, the sirens came into earshot. Time to leave. Holstering his pistol and closing the briefcase, Arsenal takes out his bow and another Glue Arrow. He throws the case into the air and shoots it with the arrow, pinning it to a wall. It should hold, but this glue's ultimately flawed.

As Arsenal makes his escape, he addresses his fans.

"I know, I know. 'Arsenal, why didn't you take the money?! It's not even stealing! They probably stole it first!'. Yes. That's the point."

He takes off the GoPro and turns it to his masked face.

"That money is dirty. Stolen, Laundered, Counterfeit, Unmarked. Whatever. It's not right take it. That's just... wrong. I'm letting the police do their job as I finished mine. Stream's over, guys. See you later!"

And with that, he stops recording, and the camera turns off with a beep.

Name: Gabriel Hawke
Age: 30
Gender: Male

Background: Birn into a relatively wealthy noble family and once a soldier with a talent for killing bad guys, Lieutenant Hawke was court-martialed for killing his superior officer, following an ethically questionable but strategically sound order. He's spent the last 2 years behind bars.

Personality: Hawke gives off an aura of strength and passion, despite appearing disinterested. He also has a strong sense of justice, most likely what landed him here in the first place. Being a former military officer, he's a great tactician and fighter.

Weapons:

Prison Shank: A makeshift knife Hawke crafted, for defense.

Aether: Hawke's greatsword, currently on display in the warden's office. Pretentious dick.

Misc: Hawke's cell is currently located in the upper levels of the prison, with other "high security" inmates, in the infection-free zone. For now.

Hayley, a young woman of 19, was walking home from a party. Her parents wanted her home by 12, but she was almost home anyway, so she wasn't in a rush. As she continued her walk, though, she felt like she was being... watched. Hayley turned slightly and saw a hooded figure behind her, a few dozen yards away, walking in the same direction she was. It was deadly quiet, and nobody else was around but the two of them.

Feeling a bit nervous, Hayley decided to pick up the pace. The man did as well. She turned a corner. The man followed her. She turned another. The man followed. He was slowly gaining on her. That's when Hayley just decided to break into a run, and predictably, the man followed her, sprinting as well. She turned the next two faster than him, having briefly lost him. Hayley looked behind her as she turned another corner.

THUD

Next thing she knew, she was on her ass, having just run into something. Her handbag she was carrying had it's contents spilled all over the sidewalk. She looked slowly up at what she just bumped into, terrified, and saw... a man in a dress jacket, also on his ass. He spoke up first, in an apologetic tone.

"Oh, I'm sorry, miss. I wasn't looking where I was going. Are you hurt?"

"... Um... No. I'm fine. It's not your fault, I was running."

The man stood up and offered her his hand.

"Oh, are you one of those late-night jogger types?"

Hayley took his hand and stood to her feet as well, just as the figure who was following her turned the corner. She looked at the figure, terrified, and looked back at the dressed-up man with pleading eyes.

"That guy's been chasing me! Please, help!"

The figure approached closer, and drew a kitchen knife from his hoodie. The dressed man looked back at Hayley, his tone changing to a serious one.

"Stay right here. Grab your things. I'll handle him."

She nodded wordlessly in response, and started retrieving her scattered belongings while the man went to confront the figure. She grabbed her handbag and started putting her things inside. When she looked back up, she could see the figure trying to slash the man, but kept missing. The man grabbed the figure's knife-wielding hand and punched them in the face, making them drop the knife. The man then put a knee to the figure's abdomen, and he threw the figure to the floor, shouting at him. The figure apparently got the message, and started to flee in the other direction.

Hayley was awestruck for a moment, but when the man turned and started on his way back, she quickly looked back at the ground and resumed collecting her things. When the man returned, he helped as well, grabbing her wallet and handing it to her.

"I took care of him. Are you gonna be alright?"

She looked at him for a moment, into his worried eyes, before snapping out of it and taking the wallet.

"... Yeah. Thank you, thank you so much."

They both stood as she closed her handbag back up.

"It's no problem. Are you gonna make it home okay?"

Hayley looked around. She ran pretty far off course. It might take her a bit longer to make it home than she'd like. This man was strong, and he had a certain way about him that seemed chivalrous.

"... You wouldn't mind... Walking me home, would you?"

He paused, considering the offer. He extended a hand.

"... Sure. I can do that. What's your name?"

She took his hand, shaking it lightly.

"Hayley. It's nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, Hayley. I'm Charles."

Truth or Consequences, New Mexico

Hayley, despite the potential danger earlier, was having a great time. Her and Charles had talked for a while on the walk back, and they'd gotten to know a bit more about each other. Hayley had talked about her time at college, her overbearing parents, her annoying little brother, and the job she has as a nurse. Charles had talked about how he was from Cambridge and went to M.I.T, and how he's in New Mexico on business.

Hayley had started thinking she'd found a perfect man. Charles was smart, kind, and if the fight earlier was of any indication, he was strong too. He was easy on the eyes, as well. The way he talked, it was almost as if he knew exactly what to say. And it was working.

"Oh, is this the place?"

Hayley had been lost in thought and hadn't realized her house just ahead. It's like the time flew by.

"Oh. Yeah. That's my house."

Charles walked her to the door. She fumbled with the keys for a moment before putting one in and unlocking the door, opening it. A woman's voice came from inside.

"Hayley, is that you? It's past 12:30!"

"Yeah, mom, it's me. I got caught up in something."

Charles turned to leave with an awkward wave.

"... Um... Have a nice night."

"Wait! Hold on!"

Charles halted his movements and turned back as Hayley called inside the house.

"I'll be just a sec!"

She approached him and reached inside her handbag, sifting through for her wallet.

"You deserve some sort of reward, right? Let me just-"

"Oh, no no, that won't be neccessary."

Charles interrupts and puts a his hand on the one reaching into the purse. They both stay like that for a moment, staring into each other's eyes and blushing. Hayley drops the handbag as they both inch closer to each other. All Charles had to do was say something nice. Any compliment, any sweet little nothing, and she was his.

"... You... Smell really nice..."

Close enough.

Hayley and Charles shared a passionate kiss right then and there, holding each other like they'd never let go. Hayley had never kissed anybody as good as Charles. It was intoxicating. She wanted to be like this, to be with this man she'd just met, forever, doing nothing else. This day was possibly the best day of her life.

... Unfortunately, for her... it was also her last.

As the kiss went on, Hayley's throat began to hurt. She tried to pull away, but Charles held the back of her head too tightly. She started feeling real, intense pain from her chest and stomach. She tried to scream in pain, but Charles had her muffled with his mouth. She noticed his face was no longer blushing, his expression stone-cold. Eventually, the cells had eaten away at her trachea and lungs, and she couldn't scream anymore as the cells ate her from the inside-out. Charles didn't need to kiss her anymore, and he gently pulled away as she watched in silent horror.

Finally, the pain ended when she was fully assimilated. Virus let out a small chuckle from the joy, but kept his cool. He was still hungry, after all. The mother's voice sounded from inside again.

"Hayley, are you coming in anytime soon? Or are you planning to Air-condition the entire neighborhood?"

Virus' larynx and lungs reformed as he responded.

"Sorry, thought I forgot something. I'm coming."

Virus stepped through the doorway, closing the door behind him, and locking it with a click.

Arsenal sat perched on a rooftop, overlooking the city streets below, thinking back on what kind of adventures he's experienced fighting crime as Arsenal. Stopping muggings, foiling robberies, raiding some criminal hives, fighting that one guy dressed as a clock... Good times. Wherever evil had sprouted it's malicious roots, Arsenal was there to stomp it out, his fans cheering him on.

Well, turns out there's only so much evil to be stomped. It's been a solid 2 weeks and the only crime Leo's stopped was a homeless person robbing an ATM. It was boring. And his fanbase was starting to notice. Leo let out a sigh.

Guess it's time for him to move on.

Arsenal whips out his phone, takes a deep breath, and starts recording:

"Hey there, guys, gals, and people of no specific gender! It's your friendly neighborhood bowman, Arsenal. Here's the latest update:"

He spins the phone around ans pans the city-scape, voicing over his thoughts.

"Look at our beautiful city. Peaceful. Crime rate's gone down to near-nothing..."

Arsenal spins the phone back to himself.

"Boring, am I right? Think the police have gotten a bit lazy as well. Well, don't you peeps worry. It's time to unveil that I'm going on tour! I'll be heading out in a few days, traveling from city-to-city, kicking ass and taking names. I'll go to whatever cities are interesting and stop whenever I feel like it. Cool? Cool."

Arsenal does a finger gun to the camera as he lays out the rest of his plans.

"There's gonna be fighting. There's gonna be actual streams for subscribers. There's gonna be fun. If you happen to see me, give me a shout, uhhh, and that's about it. See you guys in-"

Suddenly, a shout echoes across the buildings of the peaceful city.

"There's my cue! Laters!"

Leo stops recording and uploads the video to his blog, putting his phone away and rushing off to shoot some arrows...

Who knew clearing rubble with your bare hands would be so cool? And Xavier wasn't even using his full strength! He could just imagine the punches! What can he destroy with his fists?! If he punches hard enough, can he send someone into orbit?! Would they even survive the force?! This isn't even considering the Right Arm! Xavier's thirst for punching something, anything, would not be sated. If only he had some hostile NPCs to punch...

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.

With the coming of this sudden, undead mob of enemies, Xavier's luck was starting to scare him a little. Nonetheless, he rushed forward into battle, standing beside Alena and instinctively going into a martial arts stance. Tea was shouting something and got his attention.

"Alright musclebrain and fancy robe! Lena will provide support and defense! You guys just bash those things head in or something!"

And Xavier took exception to that.

"Hey, who are you calling musclebrain, short stuff?!"

But now wasn't the time to argue. As soon as they got close enough, Xavier would rush into the fray, punching, throwing, maybe even kicking a few people if the need came. Xavier is pretty good at not getting hit by stuff, so he trusted his reflexes to watch his back.

... Muscle Fetishist, the nerve of some people...

(@Zelosse@Rune_Alchemist@Darked13)
As Xavier approached the room, he notices Archene, Lady Tea, and her indentured servant Alena exiting the hall. So there are others here! It seems that they were headed in the direction of the servant's quarters, if his memory served him correctly. Like the servants.

"Hey! Hey guys! Wait up!"

Xavier grabbed his hands together and gave a quick, powerful flex, causing the rest of the snow clinging to his upper body to be pushed off. After brushing himself off for another moment, he performed a light jog to the group as they walked, catching up in a few seconds.

"Oh, man, it's so nice to see you guys! Glad I'm not the only player here! But I gotta ask, is this cool or what?! Arch, with those fly robes, Tea, all fun-sized, and me, even better-looking than I normally am! And that's saying a lot!"

Xavier goes on for a bit about how amazing this whole situation is, before finally realizing he's being a bit talkative, and taking a deep breath to calm himself.

"So, what are you guys up to? Out for a stroll, maybe taking in all the scenery..." That's when they arrive at the servant's quarters, where everything is kind of in ruins. "... Oh... Well, I don't got anything better to do so maybe I can lend you a hand with this."

Xavier starts on his task of moving rubble and boulders to free the possibly trapped servants... But, to be honest, it's more of a test of Mark's newfound strength.
