Howdy. I want to get back into things and shake the rust off, and I've not had much in the way of finding RP's that aren't full that I'm interested in, so I'm making my own. I'm looking for higher end writing, usually mature themes (while avoiding the gratuitous gore and excess that the "meme" of 'mature content' seems to carry with it)- things will happen, and I'd like them to be handled in a tasteful, real way, that focuses on characters and character development. That being the case, I'm wanting to start a roleplay based on either the Animorphs book series, the Azure Striker Gunvolt game series, or the original Bionicle mixed media series. I can't really decide which, so I figured I'd see what drums up the most interest, as they're each fairly obscure based on my understanding/not many people are very familiar. More details are available at request, but I didn't want to make this too long, as it's only a general check. I'm willing to accept players with little to no knowledge about the setting(s). Sometimes it works better that way, and I'm always willing to explain.
Since we're doind this apparently, Houndour has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. Pokemon Stadium 2's moveset distribution is solely to blame. As is my liking for Ariados. And partially some of my other preferences.

Name: Ting, after the sound metal makes when it strikes rock.
Age: Ting is a relatively young adult. Probably about 20 in human years
Gender: Male
Species: Aron
Ability: Rock Head - Prevents recoil damage from moves like Double Edge or Take Down
Appearance: While most Aron have armor that shines like polished steel (mostly because it is), Tang's armor is more of a dusty gray, and there are several dings and scratches that Ting has yet to try and fix. He also wears a bright orange cloth wrapped around his abdomen at all times, leaving room for his legs and spike, of course.
Personality: Having such a rough childhood, Ting is untrusting of people at first, as he is used to being lied to or manipulated in some fasion. However, on the flipside, he is also very selfless and charitable. Knowing what it's like to be alone and in constant suffering has made him want to ease the burdens of others, especially his brothers and sisters, wherever they may be. Either way, he's not afraid of hard work, and is willing to get his hands (legs?) dirty.
Short Biography:
Deep in the mountain ranges to the east, there is an area that can only be called bandit territory. Highwaymen, cutpurses, and all manner of marauders litter the landscape. Many passersby avoid the area like the plague, or stop for nothing while passing through. However, despite this, several small villages are dotted around the mountains, and are usually kept in check by the bandits.
The leader of these bandits is an Aggron who calls himself Rockheart the Unbreakable. Rockheart rarely leaves his mountain, usually only doing so when someone is defiant enough to try and escape his rule so that he can put them down. It is said his defenses are impregnable, and his attacks can shatter entire buildings, though no-one has actually ever lived to tell these tales. Most of these rumors come from followers of Rockheart in order to scare people into submission.
Rockheart has amassed a hoard of the years of all manner of things. Money, jewelry, concubines, and it is even rumored that he possesses a mega stone. Of course, if you're going to have so many concubines around, you're bound to get some of them pregnant. And this, unfortunately, was somewhat of a common occurrence. Rockheart bore many bastard children with his concubines, and eventually, he began branding his children. Those born to him would have the letter "R" carved into their sides, forever marking them as a child of the bandit king, before being sent off the mountain to any one of many villages.
Whether out of fear that they'd be like their father, or hatred for the same person, sons and daughters of Rockheart were shunned by those who lived in the region. People would hurl both insults and stones at the the cursed offspring, in an attempt to get them to leave.
For many of these children, most of which weren't even given names, this tactic proved effective, and sent most of them scurrying. Ting was one of these children who ran away. He spent most of his early life on the road, begging from those who would pass by, or stealing from those who made the mistake of camping out.
After what felt like years of traveling, Ting finally made his way to Starstone, where he managed to find some work in an iron mine. Unfortunately for Ting, the large "R" carved into his right side betrayed his lineage, and those who knew of it would steal from him, blame him for false allegations, and otherwise making Ting's life hell. Eventually, Ting was blamed for stealing from the iron mine, and was fired from his job. Learning his lesson about his ancestry, he spent the last of his money on cloth to wrap around himself to hide the scar from Rockheart.
Eventually, Ting wandered to Cloudgate, where he was unknown, and could start again. Once more, fate apparently had other plans for Ting, as the shade began to set in, and Ting found himself trapped in Cloudgate. Finding work as a construction worker, Ting tried to save up, hoping to one day return to his brothers and sisters in the mountains to free them from their suffering, and possibly even stand toe-to-toe against his father. But he'd need a better source of income than this. He'd need connections, he'd need his name to be worth something. And that's when he say the flyer.
That's it! An Exploration Team! He could go places he never could before, spreading his name and earning glory to one day rescue his kin. Though first, he'd need to get accepted. Will he have the strength and force of will to make it into Scorch's guild? Or will he find himself tossed aside once again?
Move Set: Harden, Head Smash, Metal Claw, Headbutt
Equipment: Ting keeps most of his money on him (if he has any at all), his orange cloth, and some form of food (usually iron scrap).
Other: Ting is still somewhat ashamed of his ancestry, and will assume the worst if his secret is revealed.

Name: Skald Age: Young Adult Gender: Male Species: Houndour Ability: Unnerve Appearance: Skald appears much like an average Houndour, though he seems to scowl more than the usual example, and his tail is a bit shorter. Personality: Skald could be best described as immature and snippy. Not immature as in childish, but very impatient, cantankerous, and rough. Being the one in his family who was always pushed out of the way, he has quite the reactive streak. He's generally gruff and grumpy- mostly because he never learned how to cooperate, or take a compliment.
Short Biography: A recent arrival to Cloudgate, Skald was the runt of a litter of Houndour in a distant mountain range. The Shadows caused the mountain range to shift, and broke up his pack. Ever since then, he's been wandering. He doesn't really know what he was looking for, as he never really learned anything other than life as a wild Pokemon.
@Ambra How are we handling abilities, with the advent of Hidden Abilities? Are we doing them at all? Are we using both/all as some versions of Mystery Dungeon do, or just one? Also, I'm curious if we'll be allowed to evolve during the story, or not, in keeping with the regular. EDIT: I just saw that there is a section for an ability on the CS. But the question still stands.
