Bio

Writer and aspiring podcaster/professional nerd! One day I'll take my stories to the screen but for now, I keep them on paper!

Here are a couple of my roleplays!

The Gospel of Aachakeggn(Kaiju and Mech RP): https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/173192-gospel-of-aachakeggn-kaiju-and-mech-rp/ooc
Bizarre Patrol (Nathan Drake/Dark Universe: The Mummy style Archeology):https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/174513-bizarre-patrol-interest-check/ooc

I prefer 1x1 and advanced roleplay, with some sort of sci-fi fantasy element!

It is absolutely necessary, for the peace and safety of mankind, that some of earth's dark, dead corners and unplumbed depths be left alone; lest sleeping abnormalities wake to resurgent life, and blasphemously surviving nightmares squirm and splash out of their black lairs to newer and wider conquests. -- H.P. Lovecraft

But since when does mankind ever listen to the rantings and ravings of madmen? “Crazy”. “Tinfoil Hat”. “Conspiracy theorists”. All words to describe the men and women who know what lies shivering in the shadows--waiting to emerge and drive the world into chaos.

I’ve had this roleplay rolling around in my head for quite some time now and I’d love to find an advanced and literate partner to play this out! I’d like to take somewhat of a procedural route with this story and focus in on a “secret society” of detectives and law enforcement that keeps the world safe from the hidden things that are best left unspoken.

I’ll be playing the role of my character Mr Damocles--a quirky, “blue collar” wizard and detective (and various other roles) and I’d like someone to play the role of his partner (and various other roles).

What I’m Looking For:

-- An advanced roleplayer that will grow with me as a writer and roleplayer for the long term. I love worldbuilding and developing a beautiful story that grows. Even as stories end, I’d like a partner that will move from story to story over months and years. I prefer communicating over Discord for worldbuilding and I'll create a post in "Advanced Roleplay" for the roleplay itself.

-- You're not opposed to 18+ themes. While the story itself is fantastical and would be filled with odd characters I'd like this story to have an "edge of grit" to it. People die in gruesome ways. Depictions of injuries and maybe even a little bit of big boy words if we're felling really fancy!

-- You're not uncomfortable with religious iconography. Being that this is an urban fantasy full of monsters and magic there will be a lot of religious references. Maybe God is a stand up comedian. Perhaps the Baphomet is running a drug ring.

-- You like side-chatter and aren’t opposed to becoming friends!

BONUS: You like the idea of being seated together and writing back and forth live. I live in MST and spend a good portion of my weekdays on the computer. We can definitely discuss what days and times we can carve out for live roleplaying.
@NuttsnBolts Yes please
The clandestine organisation toiling in the shadows to recognise, contain and destroy evil. We are the Bizarre Patrol. Semper Paratus.

I've had this idea for an RP rolling around in my head for quite some time now! The story will focus on the Bizarre Patrol--a "secret society" that protects the world from evil, usually associated with myths and legends. Each member of the Bizarre Patrol has a "talent", usually a degree in something or some sort of background that would help in tracking and obtaining artefacts and fighting evil! I already have three characters that I would play: Rodney Sweet--a professor of linguistics and comparative religions. Mr Pembroke--the man who brought the five members of the Bizarre Patrol together--and Ares, Mr Pembroke's personal assistant. I'm looking for another player who would create their own characters associated with the team (we'd also brainstorm some as well) as well as events and artefacts we'd like to explore. I have a few "plot points" in mind I'd love to explore and we can move on and design from there! Anybody down from some globe-trotting adventures?

I prefer to use the site for roleplaying and Discord for world-building and such throughout.

1.) The Trident of Poseidon-- "But afterwards there occurred violent earthquakes and floods; and in a single day and night of misfortune all your warlike men in a body sank into the earth, and the island of Atlantis in like manner disappeared in the depths of the sea" Plato, Timaeus/Critias If the legends are true--and in this line of work you quickly learn they usually are--then the City of Atlantis lies at the bottom of the ocean, beneath Bermuda Triangle. The Trident of Poseidon--the ultimate weapon may be what put it there in the first place. Someone has found the Trident. We need to put it back. The Atlanteans are coming...

2.) Eye of Odin -- "Skeggöld. Skalmöld. Skildir ro klofnir. Vindöld. Vargöld. Áðr veröld steypisk. Mun engi maðr ǫðrom þyrma" Völuspá 45 Winter came in cold and hard last year. Roads froze over. A thick, frigid haze hung in the sky. The snow kept piling up. Soon, the world was covered in a blanket of snow and ice. It's August now, and there is still no sign of winter ending. The first sign of Ragnarök.

3.) The Obsidian Tomb -- "...then I will lay My hand on Egypt and bring out My hosts, My people the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt by great judgments. 5 The Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the sons of Israel from their midst." Exodus 7:4-5 (NASB) First there were locusts. Then there were frogs. Two plagues in two weeks. Something in the burning sands of Egypt is coming. Something evil...

I'd like to do a group roleplay for this one! I'm looking for a more collaborative storytelling effort as opposed to being a GM and plotting out the story. Let me know if you're interested! I'm thinkin' about three to five folks--each of us playing a key member of the team as our "main and any other NPCs or other characters in the plot as the story develops. I look forward to playing with you all!
Can you please delete this post? I accidentally posted this in "Advanced Roleplay" and not "Advanced Interest Checks"

1) Exactly! No reason there cannot be practical or peaceful application of magic in this. I mean this is in a established country with most people not trying to do anything malevolent. More than likely magic would be under the law such as guns would. Heck, we even could make a unique amendment to the constitution in this universe that dictates the rights of a magician or the magically inclined. There's several ways to go about this.

2) Yep, officers could even use spells to negate magic or perhaps hold people in arrest without harming them. Maybe even tying up their shadows so the person being arrested cannot move or something. The law would have magic and know how to deal with as well, makes sense like how officers would have guns in real life.

Okay, so maybe

1.) If you're born with the gift to use magic (I assume not everyone can use magic) you're taken to either a special school or there are "special education" courses spellcasters alongside their normal courses.

2.) I could see the change to the Constitution happening after a 2nd Witch Trials when we realised that magic users were on our side and not against us.

3.) I dig the shadow entrapment! Either tangling someone up in their shadows or taking control of an opposer's shadow by connecting yours to their's (akin to a Shadow Possession Jutsu in the Naruto franchise). One could go even further by manipulating water, vines, earth etc to entrap someone.

4.) Enchanted guns or bullets? Enchanted handcuffs? Maybe even prisons that negate magic!
