White Wolf Returns: A Homecoming for World of Darkness
For over three decades, White Wolf has stood at the bleeding edge of supernatural and horror storytelling. From Vampire: The Masquerade to Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Mage: The Ascension, our games helped shape generations of roleplayers, writers, and dreamers who sought meaning in the shadows.
Today, we are proud to announce that World of Darkness will once again be guided under the name that birthed it: White Wolf.
This isnβt just a name change. Itβs a return to our rootsβand a commitment to the future. A future where mature horror stories are told with care. Where community and collaboration are central. Where fans, creators, and licensees can find clarity, support, and inspiration under a banner they trust.
Simultaneously, we are announcing today that White Wolf will now be a publisher, as well as a licensor, of World of Darkness games. This means that we will continue to work with our network of licensing partners who bring you all the great video games, tabletop roleplaying games, card games, and more -- but we will also develop some new games internally, and publish them.
The first game that we will publish as White Wolf is Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 as co-publisher with Paradox Interactive. We will announce additional games from White Wolf as the publisher later this year.
As White Wolf, we will: β’ Reinforce our legacy as pioneers of narrative-driven horror and emotional roleplay across all our products. β’ Provide clear leadership across all World of Darkness media and products. β’ Support creators with improved tools, transparency, and canon guidance. β’ Maintain rigorous standards for inclusivity, sensitivity, and collaboration in storytelling.
The night belongs to us all. Welcome home, Vamily.
@Sync I solicited some of my favourite RPs from various cohorts with slippery little VMs. That's why you see BLEAK fan favorite Lionhearted here aswell. Glad you're here and hopefully to stay Sync <3
Wait so my Plan D is okay? Plan D = GRavity I was going to try each of the elementary forces one by one. Then go to things like the truly abstract like Light Refraction or Digital Manipulation.
But if Gravity could work I can shift things around and get that to work.
Yes you can do gravity things with gravity like move heavy objects or something or jump up real high
Okay, I need to ask. If not The Strong Force, then would Gravity or Electro-Magnetism work in it's place? Or should I dump the Elementary Forces entirely?
This is going to sound like a cop-out, but Mason's whole design revolves around the wacky kid, with the power that forces him to be stable and rooted.
I don't want to do something cliche like controlling fire or lightning or something like that because that's been done. no offense to people who were going to do that.
I can understand why the Strong and Weak Forces would be out. They are Omni-things that affect tons of things. Because otherwise I'm going to have to go really far afield for an idea I think. To get away from the tried and tired ideas.
Memories maybe I should of been more specific are like your relations w/ NPC and PCs What you have is still cool.
Gammon St. Laurent - One of the oldest and experienced Aeons at the DI's disposal, he was a tough but nurturing teacher and parted many techniques and knowledge to his students. It always felt like he wanted to escape to the neutral territories, perhaps he knew that if he left he'd put his former students at risk and those who dared to follow him.
Conrad Yvette-Cortez - My father, while I love him like nothing else in this world he is a loyalist to the union. It wasn't a big deal until I decided to packup and leave my city forever, I coulden't face him and after my mother passed away things had never been the same.
Sasha Yvette-Cortez - My mother, she was sweet and loving. She went too early, I didn't know what to do with myself once she was taken from me. I found a calling in flying, and now I'm following my wingman down to the ends of the world to find out what the fuck happened to him. Am I crazy mom?
Robert Hernandez - He kept me alive during the rebellion but once he vanished after it, along with his note it made me question everything I had known. My belief were challenged but I had to find out what happened to him, and what connection he has to the rebellion, Foxtrot 11 and maybe even Valkrie herself.
'Vampyr' Squadron - Consisting of myself, Hernandez, Gurman, King & Rose we were the heavy hitters of the air force during the rebellion war. While I was closest to Hernandez I got along well with the others, I'll miss them but it's better if they don't know where I was going.
Your backstory for Mason is lacking, all I know is he some cute-boy glitter and now he's a power-cuteboy.
Where is he from, has he worked in New Brazil? Does he have family, what was his upbringing? Does he have any ambitions?
Your power is like o.o
Your limitations and weaknesses are lacking there should be either more detail or more of both.
I need to consult the Co-GMs on what they think about the power as well, if they are okay with it we'll probably be stacking a few limitations on it.
What comes to mind already is prolonged use will melt his clothes and equipment off him and even longer is fatal.
Stuff like that, otherwise nice CS but it needs some revisions.
So I'm assuming aside from the mutants, all those factions are fair game for character to be a part of? I'm curious as my main character idea kinda hinges on it.
Mutants are open as a backstory as long as your mutation isn't too major. Like a extra ear or eye or something weird like that is ok. If you're coming from a mutant background you need sentience and intelligence still, the more mutations you have the less you'll have of those (i.e. greenies).
Or could also be some kind of mutant sympathizer but you obviously have your own idea on what you'd like to be but these are the pathways thus far.
