I'll write something here eventually.

By the way, what's the position on the inhabitants having weapons? Guns?

As for my (pending) character, I could say with certainty that a good old boy wouldn't go without some form of protection, especially not in a city, and especially since he was part of the criminal world of a city for a short time— not that it's up to me, not too big of a deal

Not sure what the laws regarding this were for Boston at the time.

I'm still trying to locate the exact laws in regards to legal ownership, but from the research papers and other documents I've read, Massachusetts generally has a low % of people owning firearms vs. nationwide. I'm not sure if a low legal ownership percentage was the same back in the 90s; however, around the late 80s to the mid 90s, Boston, like a number of US cities at the time, did have a huge spike in gang conflicts and unregistered/illegal guns being on the street. In Boston in particular these events were mostly limited primarily in disadvantaged neighborhoods according to what I've found/read. There's also this law that I've found also deals with illegal and unlicensed ownership.

To answer the question, though, personally I'm a little stingy when it comes to firearms in these types of RPs. It's part of the reason why I'm largely against police and military characters and almost always permanently ban those types of characters from the get-go. Honestly, I would prefer you to stay away from guns, but it's your call.

I'm curious and I hate to be clutter, but are you accepting? I didn't wanna just plop a sheet in and be the odd one.

We are still accepting. Though it isn't first come, first serve; I'll be reviewing sheets in a few days before giving people time to address any potential changes or concerns before doing a final look over and choosing who I'll be accepting.
Character sheets are not first come, first serve. There will be a review deadline TBA in about a week or a week and a half. Around there.

Background Information
Sicut patribus sit Deus nobis.

On October 7th, 1994, the words of Boston, Massachusetts meant little in a city suddenly abandoned by God. As the night progressed, a supernatural weather event enveloped the eastern seaboard, covering the land in a misty fog nearly impossible to see through. Although the freak weather would ultimately claim countless lives through accidents or crashes, it was, however, not the most dangerous thing out there, as many would find out later on.

Those who were indoors at the time were safe. Those who had been out on the streets were changed. Their bodies contorted into something out of a horror movie, while their minds gave way to bloodlust; a desire to attack those hiding inside in their homes, stores or other buildings.

Thankfully, for the people residing in the 50-unit Glenview Apartment Complex, Alton Bates—an elderly Korean war veteran in charge of nightly security—realized the dangers. At the cost of his own life, he secured the entrances to the complex in time to save the lives of those still inside.

Even with Alton's sacrifice, though, Glenview's denizens remain faced with one life-threatening problem after another. Should they try to escape the fog and its demons, or should they just lay low and wait for help? Or should they just accept their fates; to roll over and die?

Best to think it through, lest the fog takes you.

Out of Character Information
Welcome to Fog.

Taking place in a Bostonian apartment complex, Fog is one story of many in the days following the events of October 7th, 1994. It is the tale of survival against the unknown; against an inhuman threat prowling in the darkness. In other words, you are a regular individual, living in an apartment complex that is now your only defense against a threat none of you have yet to see.

If that piques your interest, all I ask of you is to be competent enough to post a few paragraphs once weekly, and that you stick for the long haul. If you can do both and are still interested, then feel free to drop your interest below and/or with any questions you might have.

Working on the thread in a moment. Will likely have it up tonight.
A meme to tide you over until the OOC has arrived.

I would like to see Mortal Kombat. Someone told me it was not that good.

It's about what you expect from a video game movie. If you're a fan of the games, you might like it. I was rather indifferent towards MK. Didn't care much for the plot/writing, but some of the CGI and fight scenes were cool.

I'll work on getting the ooc thread out sometime this weekend hopefully.
@Fallenreaper I know @Taka and I are likely going to see about working something out since they're also thinking on making a high school aged character.
I'm interested. I loved outbreak files and wish they had done more with it as a game, especially with the lore. I do have a sort of idea for a divorced mother or aunt who was supposed to meet her family at the restaurant, but unfortunately... fate had other plans. >3

I was planning on rehashing an older character of mine that was around a high school age so if you want to work something out I'd be up for it.
