Lol and Polaris is one with me also, soooooo... I'm sure we're all very busy IRL, so patience is all we need right now. It's not uncommon for this RP to be silent for days on end. Doesn't mean that we're letting it die, much less that we lost interest, but more that life has simply gotten in the way.

Age: 24

Lineage: Half-blood

School/house: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry | Gryffindor House

Patronus: Phoenix

Appearance:
Though a metamorphagus, Demetria does have features she was born with. Standing at 5'9", Demi sports a light-skinned body, always toned with the physical training of her Quidditch years and the Auror academy. The wavy brown-black hair that cascades down and reaches the middle of her back can be styled depending on her mood: down when she's feeling lazy (which is most of the time), straightened with a flat iron, curled with a curling iron when she wants to make an impression, and up in buns, ponytails or a French braid (her signature Quidditch match hair-do) when she knows the hair will get in the way. Under a pair of styled thick eyebrows are a pair of yellow-green eyes, which Demi enhances with a winged eyeliner and on her waterline. Her cute nose is decorated with a piercing, and under it her full lips are always tinted with a dark red, cherry-flavored lip balm.

In terms of style, Demi gives off a grunge vibe. She clings to her old customs by always wearing muggle clothes that consist mostly of dark colors and her Converse, combat boots or Vans, and the only wizarding clothing item on her closet is a leather cloak given to her as a gift from one of the top designers of the wizarding world. On the body modification side, she has 5 small piercings on each earlobe, and a helix piercing on her right ear, besides from her nose piercing.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
  • Transfiguration
  • Concealment and Disguise
  • Potions
  • Flying
  • Defense charms
  • Herbology
  • History of Magic
  • Divination

Personality:
At first glance, Demi gives off a tomboy vibe, as would happen after growing up with her father and two older brothers since the age of 14. Her face is always serious, and though her aura exudes confidence at her every step, it could also be perceived by some as intimidating. In school, her teachers described her as a smart, well-mannered girl with a bright future ahead of her. To the public’s eye, Demetria is a beast on the field: dedicated, cool, collected, focused and FIERCE. She is polite and warm to her fans, never one to deny a picture, autograph or a greeting. However, those closest to her know a different side of her. Sweet, loving and affectionate are a few words used by her family to describe Demi. Since the death of her mother, she took it upon herself to care for the men in her life, so she is also very nurturing and caring. In the romance aspect, Demi is a hopeless romantic, very passionate and intense lover. Her friends describe her as fun, outgoing, loyal to the core and with a quick sense of humor, especially for dark, spicy and double-entendre jokes (which she often makes herself). Once Demi sets her mind on something, you can be sure she will persevere until she’s got it.

Of course, Demi is not without faults. The young woman can be stubborn and very quick-tempered, never one to shy away from confrontation. She is also very perfectionist, which can sometimes cause some troubles, especially in situations out of her control. She is also jealous, and extremely protective of her men (just as they are of her). Strangely, Demi also has a gift of spotting the good from the bed right away, which has helped keep her brothers from getting into bad relationships.

Bio:
Born in August 26 to muggle father Michael, witch mother Raquelle and older brothers Kaden and Luke, Demetria Raquelle Graves had the happiest childhood a kid could ever dream of. She grew up in a comfortable and cozy middle-class house on a good Rhode Island neighborhood and with the love of everybody around her. Michael was a hard-working man that earned his living in the construction business, but always made sure to put his family first. Meanwhile, stay-at-home witch mother Raquelle was one of the kindest, sweetest people you could meet, and she raised her three children to be the same way. It came to everyone as a horrible shock when sweet, gentle Raquelle was diagnosed with leukemia when Demi was 13. Against their mother's wishes, all her children decided to not attend Hogwarts that year and spend her last moments with her. After battling until her last breath and after Demi's 14th birthday, Raquelle had passed away, just when the sunflowers were in full bloom. Her family was destroyed, especially Demi, who had suffered this traumatic experience having entered the difficult teenage years. The Graves slowly moved on, closer than ever and constantly keeping Raquelle's memory close.

The siblings had always known of their mother's magical background and had started showing signs of magical abilities since childhood, so it came as no surprise when they each received their acceptance letter for magical education after their eleventh birthday. The Graves kids had been accepted at Merlin's Magical Academy of the United States, but had decided to transfer to Hogwarts on each child’s second year to educate themselves in Raquelle's Alma Mater and see a little bit more of the world.

In her time there, Demi excelled not only in her studies, but also on the field. She became a beater for Gryffindor’s quidditch team during her second year, and rose to the occasion to become one of the best female beaters in Hogwarts history. She was made team captain in her sixth year, and under her command the Quidditch house cup found its home in the Gryffindor common room for two years in a row. On her seventh year, she was recruited by the Holyhead Harpies, and she’d begun to play for their team right after graduating from Hogwarts. Becoming an international Quidditch star had for sure been the best two years of her life, but Demi knew she was destined to do more in life than play Quidditch. And so, once her contract had ended, Demi continued her studies to become an Auror until she graduated in the top percentile of her class.

Having just turned 24, Demi lives in a cozy one bedroom apartment in one of the most luxurious parts of the London wizarding area. Of course, she apparates back home to Rhode Island whenever she has a chance to spend time with her loved ones. Luke, now 25, works with his father in construction, and is set to take over the business when Michael retires. And 28 year-old Kaden, now married to Hannah Graves and father to a lovely little girl named Elle, continues to work as an Auror under the command of The Magical Congress of the United States of America.

Lanie watched from the sidelines as her husband asked his brother the reason for his visit, but she was distracted by little Ingrid running straight towards her. The woman had just enough time to crouch down and open her arms to receive the little girl. The mother-daughter shared an embrace before Lanie stood back up, Ingrid now in her arms.

“Mommy, Uncle Francis brought me a gift!” Ingrid said excitedly, her chubby-cheeked face alight with happiness. “He brought me a pretty dolly with hair just like mine! Do you wanna see it?”

“In a moment, darling,” Lanie replied to her daughter, kissing her nose to focus back on the conversation.

Just then, Francis was greeting her with a smile, giving her a wave. With a smile of her own and Ingrid still in her arms, Lanie walked the short distance to her in-law’s porch and hugged her brother in law. “Francis, honey. It’s a pleasure to see you again.” She looked around . “Joaquin not here with you? Lanie asked, having missed that part of the conversation.

Francis Callahan coming out as gay was a huge deal in the town with such old sensibilities like the Ridge. He was a star of the football team, he had great grades and went to church every sunday and yet all of sudden, he became demonized because of his sexual preference. It took a while for the sleepy town to get over that one. ”Sadly not” Francis replied as they parted from their embrace. ”Hubby dearest is currently in Alaska doing one of his beloved survival documentaries” Joaquin Hernandez and Francis had met when they both went off to college. By the time they had gotten together, Edenridge had more or less come to accept that one of its favourite sons was a homosexual, so when Francis returned with his new boyfriend for visits, they were quite welcoming of Joaquin. The two had been together now for several years and married just over two. In Roddy’s eyes, Francis and Joaquin were goals. “Now let’s go inside. Dad’s making brisket and you know how good that man is in a kitchen”

Roddy watched as his brother and wife conversed and he felt a pang in his heart. Moments like this always transported him back to his childhood, especially when Francis was around. He was so loved, he had everything. Lanie was the same. Popular and beloved. Rod was just Rod. He was the nerdy son of the local butcher who ran into a school and got shot. He loved his wife and he loved his daughter more than anything in the world but sometimes he wondered, especially on days like today; what exactly had he accomplished in life?

In Lanie’s eyes, Francis coming out as gay wasn’t the big deal it was for the rest of the town. Having grown up in Los Angeles with parents that were never judgemental and friends who openly lived their sexualities had definitely given her an advantage in situations like this. In fact, Lanie had become one of Francis’ most fierce defenders, a long time before she and Roddy dated. Of course, this sparked rumors that she was probably a closeted lesbian or something of the sort, but as it happens with things like this the rumors died down eventually. When Francis eventually came back with his then-boyfriend Joaquin, Lanie had been the first to welcome them with open arms.

“Awwww, that’s too bad! I was really looking forward to catching up with him as well.” Lanie replied, visibly disappointed at Joaquin’s absence. She loved to hear all about his stories of his international trips, especially with that foreign accent of his. The feeling was short-lived, as Francis announced his father was busy in the kitchen making his famous plate. “Then, by all means, let’s get going then.” The blonde woman placed her daughter on the floor, who ran back to her grandparents’ house still clutching the doll her uncle had given her. Meanwhile, Lanie walked back to where her husband stood, took his hand and they both followed Francis to his parents’ house.

The Callahan house had barely changed at all since it was built. It was the quintessential white picket fenced, all American household. A mahogany dining room, a warm sitting room and a kitchen where Daddy Callahan spent most of his life thinking up new ways to tingle the tastebuds of family, friends, guests and customers. Holding onto his wife’s hand, Rod followed his brother into the family home and deeper into the mind numbing smell that was permeating the afternoon air. The smell of beautify prepared brisket lead the group into the kitchen where of course, Colin Callahan, father of the Callahan brothers and grandfather to little Ingrid stood cooking up a storm. “Well there is a sight for sore eyes” The greying blonde man’s beard hid a wry smile. “Your mother is in the pantry grabbing us some wine. Now if you boys want to help your mom, that’d be nice. Some of those boxes are heavy. Lanie, always lovely to have someone with manners in the house rather than those knuckleheads” Indeed he loved it when Lanie came round, not just for the fact she often brought his only grandchild but also because she had a soothing presence, one that kept Roddy out of his own head.

Colin was born and raised in Edenridge but never had any intention to stay. In fact he left for college just like Francis did and was set for great things until his father died and he had to return to take over the family business. Hindsight is 20/20 and Colin was glad he came back. He found his calling as the town butcher, he fell in love with his beautiful wife and he helped make two sons to be proud of. It wasn’t his plan but he wouldn’t change a thing. He watched as the boys headed off to help their mother and left him with his daughter in law and grandchild. “Now that the idiots have left” He dropped his knife and walked over to the girls, picking up Ingrid as he did so. The little girl let out a giggle and hugged her grandfather. “How are you, Lanie? I know today must be hard but you look a little off colour”

Although the troubled relationship she’d once shared with her parents was long since mended, Lanie had always loved the Callahan’s like a second set of parents. The couple had been nothing but kind and supportive when both her and Roddy were hospitalized, and had been thrilled with the news of them dating, their engagement and eventual marriage. The wait and arrival of Ingrid had only helped to make their relationship stronger. Lanie knew that she’d made the Callahan’s -including Francis and Joaquin, of course- extremely happy for the gift of their first daughter, granddaughter and niece. Hopefully soon enough another little one could be joining their ranks. God only knew her and Roddy were trying.

Truth be told, the minute the smell of the cooking brisket had reached her nose, Lanie had begun to feel unexpectedly sick. It was an odd reaction: after all, Colin Callahan’s brisket was one of Lanie’s favorite dishes. But for some unbeknownst reason, the scent was causing the woman to feel her mouth water… And not in the good way.

In an effort to suck it up, Lanie tried to ignore the nausea and instead focus on conversing with her father in law. Apparently, her feelings translated to her physical appearance, as Colin mentioned she was looking ‘a little off color.’ “Oh, you know, just the usual… Had a run-in with she-who-must-not-be-named, but nothing I could handle. Don’t get me wrong, I know you guys love her, but I’m not about to forget all the things this… person, put me through.”

At that moment, Colin chose to check on the brisket, sending a particularly intense waft of the smell in Lanie’s direction. The blonde woman was barely able to excuse herself before rushing off to the bathroom, locking the door behind her and vomiting the contents of her stomach into the toilet bowl.
