Appearance

Ash can be described as an English Rose as she has the pale skin and a rosiness in her cheeks, her eyes are hazel and she has long red hair. Her hair is naturally thick and wavy and she usually wears it in a plait or bun to keep it out of her way. Other than freckles across her nose she doesn't have any other blemishes or marks. She is five foot nine and has a slender build with small hips and bust, she has a fast metabolism allowing her to eat pretty much anything without having to watch her weight. However this does mean she is always struggling to put on weight.

When not on shift she has a distinct rock chick style with skinny jeans, t shirts and plaid shirts and her trusty black leather jacket. She doesn't really wear much jewellery except a watch and a pendant that holds some of her fathers ashes. She has one tattoo on her left wrist which is a series of words spiralling around her wrist (it looks like several bracelets) the words are a viking prayer about Valhalla.

Evaluation Observations:

Ash has perfected the mask she wears to hide her true feelings and portrays herself as bulletproof. Most people only see the confidence and assurance she allows them to see. She uses sarcasm to deflect conversation or questions she wants to avoid answering as well as ensuring others didn't get too close.

Actual Personality:

Very few see the true Ash, as she only lets her guard down around a small group of people she trusts completely. An advantage of hiding her feelings has meant that is able to at least appear calm and confident in stressful situations (even if inside she is panicking) Her biggest strength is her sheer grit and determination, no matter how many times she gets knocked down she just gets back up again, she just refuses to give up. Her other main strength is her loyalty and if you manage to gain her trust, which isn't easy, then you will have her in your corner no matter what.

Her main weakness is her inability to ask others for help, persistently trying to do everything alone, and this leaves her open to failure. Her other weakness is her lack of verbal filter, she is incredibly blunt spoken, and says what she is thinking without any regard for others feelings. She doesn't do this deliberately, it is more that she just can't help it, and this is always landing her in trouble.

History:

Ashlyn Olivia Winters was born in the north of England in a village near the Scottish border to an English father and an American mother. Her childhood was pretty uneventful and other than growing up bored, there was very little to do in the village, she was happy. An only child she had loving parents who made time for her even though both held down full time positions, and ensured she did not lack for anything. Ash had decided early on that she wanted to be a doctor like her father and, through hardwork and determination, she managed to gain the results she needed to go to medical school.

Whilst she was at home for the holidays she and her father were in a serious car accident (their car was hit by a drunk driver in a truck) her father was killed and Ash was seriously injured. Ash was devastated she had always been closest to her father, they were scarily alike.
After recovering Ash continued her medical training in the UK though her mother, whose family still lived in America, had decided to move back to America to be closer to her family. After completing medical school Ash decided that she wanted to be closer to her mother and that she needed a change of scenery (too much reminded her of her father) and so she decided to apply to complete her medical training in the US. She applied as an International Medical Graduate and was accepted to Caduceus Memorial Hospital.

Hair:Her most noticeable feature, it's red and very long reaching over halfway down her back
Eyes:Dark brown almost black
Clothes:Ash is a a rock chick through and through and is never seen without skinny jeans, knee high boots and a her much loved black motorcycle leather jacket. She is often seen wearing her favourite bands t shirt with a plaid shirt
Jewellery and Tattoos:Ash loves jewellery and wears multiple rings on both hands as well as several necklaces (usually a choker and her urn pendant that carries her twin's ashes)
Ash also has a tattoo on her wrist, its a series of words spiralling around her wrist, like bracelets made up of words. It's a Viking prayer about Valhalla.

WHY are you a witch?Ash didn't choose to be a Witch, she discovered young that she and her twin sister were naturals. They spent most of their time learning as much as they could and formed a coven of two. Even after her twins death Ash continued learning and practicing. She feels the Wiccan Philosophy fits her and being a Witch makes her feel closer to her dead twin.

("Don't ask the question if you don't want the answer" is her motto. She is also very sarcastic and this is her usual response to people who insult her or are being aggressive towards her.

Background

Ash and her family moved to America from England when she was twelve, her father had gotten a promotion that required transferring to the American branch of the company he worked for. They settled in Texas and life seemed good but all that changed when Ash's twin died. Ashlyn and Amelia identical twins had been extremely close their whole life and even shared a psychic connection. Eight months after moving to Texas Amelia went missing one night on her way home from a friends. After months of not knowing what had happened police discovered Amelia's body buried in a field. She had been murdered but no one was ever caught.

Amelia's death destroyed the family with Ash's mother being unable to deal with the loss. She left her husband and remaining daughter and returned to England. Ash's father turned to drink and ended up losing his job and their house. He found another job in Rome, GA and they moved there after only a year in Texas. It wasn't long though before his drinking caused her father to lose that job too and they now survive on benefit money and the little Ash earns from her part time job.

Skills/Training:She is a strong witch coming from being a natural(born witch) and years of practice
Very talented artist particularly her work in pencils and charcoal and she has had a lot of her work displayed in galleries and various online sites
Has been learning Gymnastics and Taekwondo since she was a toddler and is now very good at both
Ash is fascinated with history and loves reading about ancient civilisations, due to this she knows a lot about various ancient civilisations (particularly Vikings)

Home Life

Ash pretty much does everything at home, taking care of her father and the house. Her mother has not spoken to her since she returned to England. Ash and her father live in a rundown house badly in need of repair, its in the poorest section of Rome.

Father - Ted Winters (Balding man showing health issues from prolonged heavy drinking) He is emotionally and physically abusive to Ash as he hates the fact that she is a constant reminder of his dead daughter. Basically the man is full of hate and bitterness.
Mother - Claire Winters (formerly Claire Brown) has returned to her family in England. Has no contact with Ash as she cannot bear seeing her and being reminded of Amelia.
Twin Sister - (Identical) Deceased

2 Black and white cats (sisters) Lola and Ripley - Two years old. They adore Ash and spend all their time around her even trying to follow her to school on several occasions! They get Ash through each day of her home life and she honestly isn't sure how she would cope without them

How do you get around?Ash had to give up her car since she can't afford to run it. She now walks everywhere or gets the bus

The House of the Wayward Hero (DCU)

Wildheart

Wildheart heard the sounds first, movement around her and the hum of machinery, she opened her eyes wincing at the bright lights. Her head felt as though it was being hit repeatedly with a sledgehammer. She knew she had a migraine but she was used to that and was able to push through the pain enough to function...just. Later would come the vomiting but for now she could cope. She looked around, moving her head slowly to avoid more pain, and recognised Matt and Athena's house. There was a stranger lying in the bed next to her and out of habit she registered his unique scent as she did with everyone she met.

Athena was standing over him and seemed to be trying to perform surgery, Wildheart had to look twice, it was the first time she had seen it done with Telekinesis. Matt sat in the chair by the bed and Apollo and Artemis lay beside the bed both asleep. She smiled gently and leaned down to stroke them, both jumped as one and she was immediately enveloped in fur and wet tongues as they crawled over excitedly. She let them for a few minutes then calmed them down sending them reassurance and calm. She realised that her brother was probably worried sick as well as her cats and she quickly took out her phone.

She spent the call reassuring him too and apologising for making him worry, she also said she would return home as soon as she could. Hanging up she swung her legs to the floor and carefully stood. Other than the pain in her head she seemed uninjured, her healing abilities had done their work and her hearing was fine again. It was a pity her enhanced regenerative ability couldn't heal migraines though. She moved to stand beside Athena glancing down at the young man on the bed. The wound didn't look serious, bullet wound, she guessed.

"Need a hand?" She asked Athena. Though a Vet she had performed basic surgery on her father before when they had been miles from the nearest hospital.
