Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Um, yeah. ^^; Speaking of which, I'll address signups there soon hopefully. ^^; Sorry, I was out today and I've been a little busy.
Kirisame Marisa, Client World 12262009-A
Marisa tilted her head as she got a look at the readouts on the goggles. This was pretty useless, really. And apparently it was pretty necessary to the girl. She needed to defend herself? Weeeell... it was pretty crappy to deprive someone of their only way to be safe. Marisa took tons of stuff but there was no way she did that kind of thing! She didn't understand all the babble that came out of the girl, but she could tell these goggles were really no use to her... normally it wasn't such a big deal, but this time she really had no idea what the hell she was going to do with these things. "Eh... whatever, come here, you can have 'em back," said Marisa, pulling the goggles off and outstretching them towards the pair.
Swordswoman - Restaurant District, Yggdrasil
"... Uh... what is he doing?" the soldiers approached Gilgamesh in confusion. By all rights, he should have pretty effortlessly beaten the hell out of all of them... and now he was surrendering. Their only real chance was to shoot him now, or else it was pretty likely the fight would get a lot, lot harder. And it wasn't like their leader would help. She thought they were all bloodthirsty idiots. And so, they trained their weapons on Gilgamesh, ready to fire. The swordswoman elegantly twirled her katana as the boosters retracted into it. No date? She pouted visibly, inclining her head to the side. That sure was a disappointment... "... Wait, are you saying that you're already devoted to your... onee-sama? Hehehe, so you're telling me you've already got a girlfriend? That's sweet~" She shifted her stance once more, readying her blade. "I already wasn't going to kill you, but this means I'm going to be extra-careful! Here I come!" The air rushed around her as she suddenly launched herself forward at Nono. She aimed for a low sweep with her blade, intending to take Nono's legs off. Again, she expected this not to matter to a robot girl aside from disabling her.
???, Research Facility
Springing back to avoid the blades, the girl holstered her pistol. Her options were limited, here... But she had to do everything she could to stop these people. Even if she failed, she could not fail before trying every option before it became clear it was either failure or death. The UMMA would not want to lose a valuable agent. Or any agent, for that matter. Reaching back, she pulled her antimaterial rifle from her back. She only had one hand to use it, and at close range, the shot was impossible. Perfect. Using what remained of her prosthetic limb, she propped the long gun up, holding it in her right. She wavered. She had to take aim. She had to make it clear what her target was. The girl pulled the trigger, and the result was a tremendous crack, a sound that reverberated through the facility like a roll of thunder. And yet, the shot totally missed. It streaked past Cinder, hurtling beyond her... It hit the wall at an odd angle, and ricocheted, careening for the floor. The angle it hit there caused it to bounce off once more, and sent it hurtling directly for Cinder's back! Even if it couldn't pierce her aura, the girl was sure it would give her some kind of opportunity!
Plus they're not killing innocents who didn't ask for anything, they're associated with Umbrella (Or Neo). If anything, UMMA should kill them off too.
Also yeah, if the UMMA gets involved they're... probably there to take out Umbrella if anything. ^^; That's kind of a good point.
THE UMMA PROTECTORS OF THE MULTIVERSE SLAUGHTERING A BUNCH OF SHMUCKS WHO SIGNED ON WITH THE WRONG COMPANY Seriously though does the UMMA ever bother arresting people because to be honest this is looking more and more like a brownshirt thing. Doesn't the UMMA have like Prime Directive protocols or something?
Well, the UMMA does. If they were to show up they'd probably try and detain the Umbrella agents or something, though. It's basically because of Shadow Eternity's presence they have the license to interfere on a small scale. So yes, they would attempt to shut down Umbrella without killing the people there. That's what I meant by taking out. As for members of Shadow Eternity, if they surrender they perform an arrest. But so far the UMMA agents have been shot at, and the one person who attempted a surrender was shot by another Shadow Eternity soldier. To be fair, if the swordlady knew about that she would strongly disapprove, but she seems to think her soldiers are bumbling idiots anyway.
Believe me, I'm going to be ending the fights that I am directly involved in as soon as it makes sense IC. ^^; I hardly want this RP to be endless combat. That's not very fun and it's also difficult to GM.
Also yeah, if the UMMA gets involved they're... probably there to take out Umbrella if anything. ^^; That's kind of a good point. I'll also be making another IC post later, ideally.
yes, hello, sorry to bother you but I've put a character up for review without asking if there was space open. Hope you don't mind. Dunno if you've seen it, so I'll drop the link again just in case. http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/74771-massive-multiversal-crossover-interest-check-and-signups/ooc?page=30#post-2363300
I'll be getting to that later, since I'm going out very shortly. ^^;
Well... to be frank, I don't think any of our player UMMA characters were particularly available for that scene anyway? At least out of the ones I've posted, I could be wrong. At the moment I'm kind of stretched thin, so, um... It might be better to go for a stealthier approach for a lot of reasons, one of which being that it lightens my potential load as GM a bit. ^^;
I'm trying to end the Mushroom Kingdom scene. I'm not one of those GMs who has(or lets) villains destroy and murder in lighthearted settings in crossovers just to show how evil they are. There's much better ways of having villains be threatening and evil. Besides, it's mostly for comedic effect and even though the Toads will run out Shadow Eternity's leader is going to order them to leave. I wouldn't be doing this except Mario's player disappeared and I'd rather find something easier to manage for these characters then trying to run this scene and figure out some kind of coherent exit, as opposed to maybe folding them into something else. And yes, they weren't supposed to be there, as well.
Poor gun-girl lost her prosthetic! ... And yet her aim is somehow even more perfect even though she's using her weaker hand... Whatever could her power be. <.< >.>
???, Research Facility
The girl gritted her teeth as she realized that the creature hand managed to bite down on her arm. Her hand was ruined, and soon enough the entire forearm had vanished into the creature's mouth. The prosthetic was her lead arm, the girl was left-handed. And yet... it would be easy enough to replace, and given the danger these two foes possessed... The girl's free hand snapped to her knife and drew it in one smooth motion, before scything it down on the joint of her prosthetic arm. The blade lodged itself in the synthetic limb's weakest point, and the girl managed to force the knife through the gap and sever the limb entirely. There was no pain, her left arm could not feel pain. The limb smoothing detached and, as the girl spotted the woman's arrows, she stowed her knife and drew her pistol. Her movements had to be perfect. Kicking off the ground she backed up and leaped into the air, bringing her pistol up in her remaining hand, her right. Aiming to clear the swarm of small creatures, she fired, repeatedly... and beyond all likelyhood, each shot hit each arrow perfectly. It wasn't possible, she was in the air, she was firing with her weaker hand... how was it possible that her aim was so perfect? The girl's right hand was even shaking! She landed, having cleared the ring. What was impossible, anyway?
