Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Well, the fight did just kind of leave. ^^;
Thanks. ^^; I thought the idea seemed really fun. Though Rin suggested the concept so I have her to thank for the whole idea. Before I wasn't quite sure what to do. ^^;
... Yeah that sums up my issues with the bio well. ^^;
And there we go. Please tell me if I missed anything.
Chiester Sisters - Weapons and Communications, UMMA Vessel Tanngrisnir
"No takers?! Alright!" Really, 410 was pleased there was nothing. It meant she got to blow this thing out of the void herself! Grinning wildly, she swung the cannon up to target the ship once more. It was leaking fire, one of the angular wings had also taken a severe hit, a hole burned through it by the blast of magical energy. Now she just had to line up the shot... aaaaand... there! The blast tore the void once more, ripping through the emptiness as it hurtled towards the enemy ship! It hit the ship dead-on, and there was a flare of light as it tore another hole through it and- ... Didn't... destroy it. ... Aaaaand now it was retreating. "E-eh?! It survived that?! Grrr..."
Dlanor A. Knox - Outside the Passenger Area, UMMA Vessel Tanngrisnir
The man who was unfortunate enough to meet chainsaw fell to the ground in short order, dead. The other soldiers frantically backed away, caught between potential friendly fire in the battle and definitely-unfriendly fire from the UMMA agents. They certainly knew that they were outgunned. Dlanor's focus was not on them. She took a running leap, and sailed over their hands, landing beside Jaune, Blake, and Aika. She gave them a quiet glace, as she looked them over to ensure they were unharmed. Then her eyes settled on her opponents. Two girls. The pink-haired girl whirled, gritting her teeth at the new arrivals. The tubes had once again extended from her gauntlet. However, she was quickly distracted by the green-haired girl, who was trying to wrench her lance free from the statue it had been caught in. Quickly her expression softened with worry. "Mai?! How did she..." The green-haired girl gritted her teeth, yanking on her spear. "I'm fine, Ayako, we need to-" As Dlanor approached, she trailed off. Her expression was one of utter dismay. "... We're retreating, Ayako..." The pink-haired girl looked shocked even as she squared up to fight Dlanor. "But... but we have to save her! We-" Before she could say anything more, Dlanor charged. The green-haired girl grabbed the pink-haired girl's arm, and the both of them vanished, the spear too disappearing from the statue's hold. The surviving soldiers disappeared as well. Dlanor slowed to a halt. "... We must ensure the civilians were UNHARMED."
Saber - Restaurant District, Yggdrasil
Excalibur pierced the chest of another soldier, just as the last of them fell to Enkidu's fists, elbows, knees, and feet. There had been a few shots that came far too close, but she did not believe any civilians had been harmed. The King of Knights was relieved that there had been no innocent casualties, and she swiftly turned to face the catwalk. Nono seemed to be in a standoff with a katana-wielding woman, and the huge man from before, as well as Gintoki, had neutralized the other Shadow Eternity soldiers. There were dozens of them lying up there, dead or unconscious. The katana-wielding woman glanced at the soldiers as well, and sighed. "Useless, pig-headed, violent idiots. Direct orders not to shoot at civilians and what to they do? Well, at least I can say they deserved it because of that. I need to get less evil-minded subordinates, don't you agree?" She smiled sweetly at Nono, but it was clear the smile was rather strained. That last impact had hit direction, and she was still feeling the pain. However, as opposed to giving in, she carefully raised her katana to point at the robotic girl. "But there's no sense in wasting an opportunity. I don't know if I'm going to get to meet a girl as cute as you again! ... Well, aside from blondie down there~" She jerked her head towards Saber. The blonde girl stared in confusion. "And I don't like running away from-" The swordswoman paused for a moment, then let out a deep sigh. "Wouldn't you know it." Giving Nono an apologetic smile, her blade suddenly flashed, rending a gap in the air before most observers would be able to realize what had happened. "I hate doing this, but I'll see you another time, cutie! Maybe we'll both get to cut loose then~" Saber realized what she was doing and broke into a run, but there was simply no way to stop her before she vanished into the gap, and it shut behind her. Needless to say, the remaining soldier, thrown so hard by Gilgamesh that his shoulder dislocated, was rather dismayed to see his commander insult all of them and then leave without taking any of them. Or he would be if he wasn't currently in so much pain he couldn't talk.
I'd really rather not leave her behind, um, but okay. I'll post sometime soon, then.
Void Magic- Similar to mind control. It mainly brings out the evil in the most purest of people.
Okay, um, I know I'm just a player but I have to protest this. The unrestricted ability to force other characters to be evil is kind of not okay. ... Also I'm not sure how someone around 150 years old is one of the oldest people in a non-low Fantasy setting. ^^; But, um, on another note, posted for Amythest.
Amythest Malachite, MISTRESS OF THAT HEARTLESS MAGIC THE WORLD CALLS BLACK - Starter Town, Beginnings Boulevard "WAHAHAHAHA~" The dark queen of all black magic slammed the tip of her staff down onto the cobblestone! With a triumphant laugh, she ran her free hand through her long, pink hair! Yes, beautiful and deadly! Swiftly it moved to her hip, and she gave the entire town a malevolent grin! Yes, Amythest Malachite, the darkest villain to ever taint the lands with her evil presence, had arrived! Soon these foolish mortals would know true fear! Soon they would suffer under her iron fist of cruel tyranny and tyrannical cruelty! Clearly her throat and flashing a malevolent grin to the crowd before her, she began to speak in the most threatening tone she could possibly muster! "Greetings, foolish mortals of Starter Town!" she declared, pausing for a moment as she contemplated what a ridiculous name 'Starter Town' was. Seriously? Well, she'd rename it something fitting and evil when she... totally conquered it because that was exactly what she would do! "I am Amythest Malachite, MISTRESS OF THAT HEARTLESS MAGIC THE WORLD CALLS BLACK, WAHAHAHAHA~" She paused to let the terror sink in for a moment, before closing her eyes softly and resuming her declaration of power and evil! "Now, I know you may all be terrified, and rightly so! But if you surrender to my dark might, you shall all be spared the greater part of the agonies I can inflict! Be forewarned, however, as any who resist me will suffer all the tortures of he-... E-eh...?" Amythest trailed off as she opened her eyes and realized that, as opposed to cowering in fear, the populace of the town was proceeding along as if she wasn't there. Faltering, she hopped off of her position near the center of the boulevard and waved her fee hand in the air. "H-hey, black witch and all? Mistress of Evil? U-um... I'm right here you know!" No-one was scared at all, what the hell?!
If you're still stuck I can post again, but I want to end the fight scene on the Tanngrisnir and I'd rather not do that before Aika can do more. Edit: At the very least I think I can finish up the fight on Yggdrasil, right? Um, I mean I'd like to have waited but I don't want it to drag on too much.
Name: Amythest Malachite, MISTRESS OF THAT HEARTLESS MAGIC THE WORLD CALLS BLACK Theme Song: Gender: Female Age: OLDER THAN THE ABYSS OF TIME ITSELF(15) Appearance: "Hah! I am the TRUE darkness of this world!" Personality: Destroyer of kingdoms! Slayer of kings! Kidnapper of fair maidens! All of these things are not at all an apt description of Amythest as much as she would like others to think they are. Amythest would just love to be seen as a terrible and cruel mistress of black magic who takes pleasure in the suffering of others. She styles herself as such, loudly proclaiming that she seeks to bring evil upon all mankind! ... And yet in action, she cannot ever bring herself to perform truly evil acts. No, in spite of her claims, Amythest is not the evildoer she styles herself as. For every claim of being a heinous monster that she makes, Amythest has likely done something only mildly malevolent or even outright benevolent and kind. She claims she has never done anything helpful for anyone, but truthfully the girl simply is a much better person than she claims she is. She likes children and often has trouble keeping her villainous facade up around them, unless they're finding it entertaining. Amythest is full of confidence and pride in herself, and refuses to back down in the face of danger. Unless that danger is spiders. Amythest does not like spiders. Favourite Colour(s): Blood red! Like the stains left behind by those who oppose her! Ahahaha! (Pink) Favourite Food(s): The souls of her enemies! (Cheesecake) Hobbies: Torturing the innocent! (Pressing flowers) Indulging in the spoils of conquest! (Collecting magical grimoires) Weapons: Her channeling staff. That is all. Powers/Abilities: Amythest is a black mage, utilizing primarily offensive spells. These spells are primarily fire-or-lightning-based, such as a bolt of lightning or a ball of fire. Amythest's most powerful spells, however, channel her mana as a beam or burst of purple energy. These spells can be highly hazardous to many organic targets. Amythest isn't very athletic and lacks physical skills, all her focus being on magic. Biography: Amythest was born to an average family and had an average life. Averagely. Boringly. It was dull. Really way, way too dull. Amythest couldn't stand how boring she felt it was. Sure, she was learning magic, but she never got to do anything with it! That's when she hit upon the idea of becoming a traveler! But not just any traveler... a Dark Traveler! Yes, she would paint herself as the most evil and dark adventurer to cross the lands! ... And it became quite obvious that these claims were only words, as she simply could not actually do anything that evil. But still, she ventures across the lands and proclaims her evilness while doing nothing to back it up.
