Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Yes, there is.
@TheFake: I was talking a bit with my co-GM about this character. He had to go to bed, though, so we'll finish talking tomorrow and get your character judged for tomorrow, okay? For now, um, fifth and final character. I've wanted to play her too much for too long. ^^; Name: Nakamura Kiyomi Age: 17 Gender: Female Appearance: She has light skin, black hair, and purple eyes. The shirt she is wearing is black with white writing, and her shorts are blue. Canon, AU, or OC?: OC Universe of Origin: Original Setting Personality: Kiyomi herself is a stubborn girl. She has a highly optimistic outlook on life and a refusal to back down regardless of what happens. However, she also has a rather short temper and sometimes rejects offers to help. After all, if she thinks something is her fault, she feels like she should be the one to solve it. Even if it's to her own detriment. She is dedicated to her friends, especially Miko, and her family. However, she also has a tendency to jump into things without thinking them through due to her short temper. And she's a bit too eager to fight, to say the least. However, she's generally friendly in spite of her temper. Kiyomi values hard work and dedication, and hates those who prey upon others, especially when they prey upon those who cannot defend themselves. However, she is generally against killing her enemies unless she feels she has no choice, or in some cases where it's a completely unrepentently despicable person who will simply find another way to hurt people. Abilities/Weapons: Kiyomi's abilities focus on her affinity for Mana. She cannot use complicated spells as raw Mana is not filtered through an affinity. Instead, her spells simply direct her mana. However, raw mana is also incredibly destructive and dangerous, allowing Kiyomi to hit incredibly hard with her spells. Indeed, in terms of raw power she may be the most powerful mage on the planet. In addition to this, magi have limited mana and will run out and have to wait for it to replenish itself. Kiyomi has no such limit. Her Mana affinity grants her absolutely unlimited mana. The only limitation she has is her own human limits, as using too much mana at once will harm the body and begin causing it to break down. Kiyomi is adept at casting mentally, but to use the full power of her spells she has to say their name. She does not often do this, as at full power mana will destroy most targets and she rarely desires to kill. Backstory: Born to the Nakamura mage family, there wasn't that much extraordinary expected from her magical talent. After all, the Nakamura family was somewhat below average in terms of their amount of mana and the quality of that mana. Still, they were able to practice spells and continued to be magi. However, when she first began learning magic, Kiyomi discovered something strange. She couldn't cast any of the spells she was taught. She could learn the process of casting them, yes, but the only result she got was flashes of useless white light. At first she was frustrated, but then she began to learn just what this white light was. It was pure mana, unaltered by any sort of affinity. No mage could ever access pure, raw mana. It could not be constrained for any spell without being filtered through an affinity, only guided. There was but one other person, Kiyomi learned, who ever exhibited an Affinity for Pure Mana. As such, there were no spells for such a thing. There was nothing. And so Kiyomi set out to create her own. She worked hard, throughout her childhood, to harness her affinity. Mana in its pure state is raw magical energy, destructive and powerful, and so her spells emphasized that. She developed spells to send beams of mana at a target, or send a coil of mana coursing around her to destroy attacks. She even developed an immensely powerful spell based around directing a massive beam of mana at a target, which she dubbed White Cannon. Needless to say, something like this drew attention. Somewhat unwanted attention. As a teenager, Kiyomi has had to deal with all sorts of things. Unscrupulous magi coming after her for her unique abilities, for one, but for the most part little of it actually centers on her. With the help of her friend, Hououji Miko, Kiyomi has attacked threats to the innocent time and time again. And then she fell through a magical anomaly. Certainly, her biggest desire right now is to return home. Faction: Factionless In this case I'll be waiting for my co-GM to look her over and accept her is a good idea before moving her to the characters tab and working out an intro for her, because I'm a little worried about her specific ability and I feel the second opinion from someone with authority in this RP will be a good idea.
I'll hopefully be getting a new post up relatively soon. All the new interest has really made me hopeful for this again.
Black Rock Shooter - Client World 576143290-B
Black Rock Shooter glanced from the others to the girl. The girl seemed to be looking somewhat down, her face screwed up with concentration. It was as if she was thinking something over. The otherself glanced towards the lift that Suwako had gestured towards. Yes, that would be the most effective way for them to escape. The black-haired girl wasn't sure if she could make it entirely the way back up by herself. She took a few steps towards it, before turning back to face the others, quietly. The blonde little girl was looking back at her silver coffin. "... There was something important..." She shook her head, before reaching out to firmly grasp Kiss-shot's hand. As she used it to pull herself out of the coffin, another detail became apparent. There was a barcode printed on her lower right leg. The numbers running beneath it read 'WMT-00000000001'. The girl was completely barefoot. It seemed that all she was wearing was the hospital gown. "Let's... let's go." When the armed man asked her name, the girl looked confused for a second. "It's... it was... huh? Why can't I remember...?" Recalling how Suwako had seemed dismayed, and wanted to move higher now, Black Rock Shooter reasoned that she wanted to get back to the surface as quickly as possible. As this was something she could intervene in, she did just that. Without much thought, the Otherself reached out to grab the smaller girl and pull her onto the lift.
Giovanna's Room, Shadow Eternity Headquarters
"Reassigned!? What?!" Ayako snapped, furious. Her anger had been brought to a simmer at first, and Mai had stowed her weapon. But now it was up to a full boil. She was about to continue on her rant when Mai took the pink-haired girl's shoulder and pulled her away, looking at the paperwork. "Ayako... this could be another chance to find her," said the green haired girl. Ayako was silent for a moment, shaking slightly. "Let's go." With that, the two departed from the room.
Kirisame Marisa, Client World 12262009-A(Macross)
"Huh, sounds pretty damn strange to me," Marisa said with a shrug, before flashing a cheerful grin. She was an only child, and her dad was a serious stick in the mud, so she wasn't too familiar with the whole family issues thing. She'd gotten out of there at top speed, after all, and was living alone. The Perfectly Ordinary Witch gave a small twirl as she turned entirely around to face them again. Today seemed to be a pretty awesome day, that was for sure... "I dunno about family issues... but that Academy City place sounds awesome!" Misaka mentioned all kinds of experiments and 'science' things they were doing in this Academy City place. That meant they'd have a whole hell of a lot of things to steal, right? Marisa's mind was filled with the thought of all the various thefts she could pursue. She didn't know what she could steal from a place like that, but she was sure there would be something she'd want! A lot of somethings by the sound of things. Of course, she wasn't going to let that little detail slip. She wanted to be all nice and stealthy when she pulled off this theft. "... Aaaanyway, you guys see any place you wanna eat?"
Saber - Restaurant District, Yggdrasil
The girl rubbed the back of her head nervously. She hadn't seen much of the fight, that was true, but she'd heard a lot of it and she'd definitely seen someone's upper half go far too distant from his lower half. But... but that was one of the bad guys, one of the people who had been trying to hurt her and her customers... still, it was terrifying. "I... I don't know wh-when we'll be open... a-after that, I...s-sorry, er..." She trailed off when the animal-eared... boy? waved the menu in her face. He wanted food, but... well, after what hat happened... "... W-we're not... it's too soon a-after the attack..." It was one of the UMMA agents who had helped save them, she felt she had to offer something... "... Wh-when we're back up and running, you'll all get free meals, anything you want!" She'd have to clear it with the manager, but she had to offer something... Saber glanced at Kuzaku as he left. Hopefully he would be well, she was certain that Aura Bright would be able to help in some way. The mage had excellent healing capabilities from what she understood. Saber herself, as a Servant, healed much easier then most people barring certain circumstances. She did not often require the help of one of Yggdrasil's many doctors or healers, and had never personally made a visit to Aura. As she turned to face Nono and the huge man who had intervened in the fight, she thought she heard... no, that would not be possible. It was simply a case of mishearing a name. It must have been. Saber calmly approached her fellow agent and the civilian. She noticed that the robotic girl was looking at her in that way again... Saber still was unsure of why. Nono was incredibly, incredibly fond of her. 'Onee-sama', at least when applied to herself, was still perplexing. "You did well, Nono," Saber said. She did feel the need to congratulate her fellow agent, as she was one of the reasons that no civilians had been harmed in this battle. Looking up to the huge man, she continued. "And while it was reckless, you appear to have held your own." With that, her gaze returned to Nono. The eagerness in her voice was very obvious, to say the least. "The rest of the district is unharmed, now that the other agents are here we can get something to eat."
Chiester Sisters - Weapons and Communications, UMMA Vessel Tanngrisnir
As 410 fumed over losing the enemy ship, and failing to destroy it entirely, 45 noticed that there was a new channel over the communications device. It was a UMMA channel, from the bountry hunter Samus Aran. She glanced over at 00, rubbing the back of her head nervously. "Ah.. er, she wants permission to..." 00 quickly nodded. 45 didn't really need to re-state what 00 had heard over the communications unit every single time. "P-permission granted!" 45 quickly declared into the unit.
Oh, um, the restaurant is a mess but not heavily damaged. I'll try and make that more clear in my next post. ^^;
If I'm not mistaken, Saber, Black Rock Shooter, and Marisa for my characters, and the Chiester Sisters and SE Girls for NPCs, right?
When I post, I will. Hopefully that'll be soon, just need to get an idea of everyone I can currently post for.
It's still open, yes.
@deadpixel101: Accepted. @Silverdawn: GS has some questions, so I'll turn you over to her for now.
That's preeeetty ridiculous. As I said, I might be adding one more character, but that's where I'll stop. Since even five is stretching it for me but more and more I've been wanting to use this character. ^^;
