Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Torako did not really, immediately, respond to anyone. She was really rather distracted. This light, soft dough... the juicy, perfectly tender, melt in your mouth pork... Ah, it was too good. Just too good! One bun vanished into her mouth, and she let out a delighted "Mmm~" of satisfaction. Then she had another. And another. And another. And another... One by one, the incredibly moist, delicious, and fluffy meat buns vanished into the pale white-yellow-haired girl's waiting mouth. Anyone who saw her meal earlier would probably be completely baffled at how she still had room for so many of the savory pork buns, and yet they were still rapidly disappearing into her as if she was some kind of black hole of food. Torako simply couldn't stop herself, the incredibly delicious pork buns tempting her further and further to eat more and more...

"Haaaah~" the girl let out a delighted sigh as she sat back, taking a brief break from her incessant devouring of all the food, "They're so good~! The food here is great, I'm so glad I came!"

Torako let out a cheerful grin towards the others.

She paused for a moment before realizing that Kyang had asked her, and the others, a question.

"I don't really have a family," she said, with a small shrug of her shoulders, "But Rikoku itself is my family, really!"
Um, will post sometime tonight probably. ^^;
Um... well, I was thinking there's probably some check-in type of thing for older students to gauge how their capabilities as a pair have grown.
"Haaah, that's such a nice thing to say!" replied Torako cheerfully, giving Dai Xin a wide smile when he told her she must be better then she thinks. She replaced Taketori by her side, and happily sat down with the others in anticipation of meat buns. This was her kind of 'showing around'! She could smell the meat buns cooking and they smelled pretty fantastic... cheap or expensive, large amounts or small numbers. When it came to food, the taste was what mattered! If it was good, Torako would eat it. Likely in extremely excessive amounts. To say the girl was a human sinkhole was in no way an exaggeration.

As Dai-Xin explained exactly what his goals were, Torako rested her head on her hands, leaning forward on the table as she did, her trailing sleeves pooling on the wooden surface. So that was it, was it? How... pragmatic. "I have to wonder what the students or the former headmaster think about that... oh well!"

She sat back, feet lightly kicking as she did. It was a rather ridiculous sight, really. Torako certainly didn't look threatening, to say the least.

"This food smells great! I can't wait at all!"
Going to be posting tomorrow morning. ^^;
Accepted.
@Zeroth: The thing with Torako is not that she's got a secret identity. If directly prompted she'll outright say she's the Tiger Lily, and she doesn't introduce herself as anything but "Ushijima Torako".

But she's so obfuscatingly ditzy, goofy, and harmless-looking that no-one suspects she's actually telling the truth, and not saying things to sound more impressive, get free food, or just for fun. No-one is meant to think she's remotely competent because she acts so silly.

She's supposed to be able to tell someone to their face that she's the Tiger Lily and maybe they'd believe it for a moment, but then they'd see her eat fifty meat buns and talk about how pretty birds are and how fun flying would be or something and think that there's no way someone so silly would ever be such a famed manslayer.
Okay, first I missed the post, @Zeroth, but now, um...

Right now Torako's meant to look like a harmless, strange goofball who people wouldn't believe even if she outright said she was the Tiger Lily. Even though she looks like descriptions of the Tiger Lily, her behavior's meant to completely throw people off.

So she's probably not putting off any killing intent, especially since she has no intention of killing anyone currently present. ^^;
Okay, I just need some posting from everyone else now and we can get this going!
"Oh?"

Clutching the sheathed sword, Torako raised it to display it better. The sheath itself was somewhat decorated, a lily tied to the end and several painted onto the wood itself.

"Taketori-chan is a katana, yeah!" she declared cheerfully as she held up the blade. It was rather odd, most likely, to hear the sword referred to in such a manner. After all, it was an endearing honorific... about a katana. It wasn't exactly one of the most logical things that came out of Torako's mouth, to say the least. But still, she rather insisted on it in almost all circumstances. She lowered the sword back to her side after a moment, still grinning. She liked talking about Taketori, really. Even though she had forsaken the course of life as an assassin, she still liked her sword a great deal.

"As for style, I was trained in the Hyaku Hanabira Ittou-Ryu Kenjutsu," she declared. Iaijutsu techniques were also somewhat commonly taught in conjunction with the style, yes... after all, it was very much about overwhelming speed. The hundred petals referred to a hundred attacks rapidly paced to overwhelm the enemy. Speed and skill was absolutely a must for such a style. "I don't know if I'm what anyone would call the best at it, though."
