Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

WE NEED HEROES!

ARE YOU ONE?!

COME ON DOWN AND JOIN US IN OUR NEVERENDING QUEST FOR JUUUUUUUUSSSTTTIIIIICCEEEEEEE!

Come to the SUPER headquarters, located in downtown Ginmura at the SUPER building! Take the Hero Entrance Examination and show the world how dedicated you are to its protection!

Registered Heroes will receive SUPER support in the form of money and supplies! Supplies and payment may vary depending on individual needs.

Ginmura. A city on the coast of western Japan, a city known for its bustling trade and its advancement in technology. Indeed, the research institutes in Ginmura have made massive advancements in the analysis of various forms of abilities and technologies. It could easily be stated to be the foremost in such research across the entire world. With this in consideration, it was decided that Ginmura would be the ideal location for SUPER headquarters.

SUPER. The Worldwide superhero organization registering heroes and organizing them to fight for justice and the good of the world. Supplying heroes with payment and materials that would allow them to continue their work in protecting the innocent, defeating criminals, and destroying monsters. SUPER has bases all across the planet, but Ginmura's base boasts an important distinction. It is home to not one, but three of the world's eight unstoppable EX-rank heroes, those individuals who are so powerful that they defy the traditional ranking system employed to reflect hero ability. Needless to say, this makes for an excellent recruitment tool. Many aspiring heroes are inspired to start their own journey through the ranks, so they can one day help people just like the EX-ranks can.

But the SUPER base has not worked as a deterrent. Monsters have attacked Ginmura. In fact, their presence has become more common recently. A Thunderstorm-class monster recently assaulted the market district, though it was destroyed by the combined efforts of several C-class heroes. Supercriminals, too, have seen increased activity.

Will you be a hero of justice to stand against evil?!

Ginmura is an advanced port city located on the Western coast of Japan. The SUPER headquarters, a large, imposing monolith of a building, is located in Ginmura's municipal quarter, to the mid-eastern side of the city. Ginmura boasts a large market district on the coast, a thriving entertainment district, and a healthy amount of residential areas.

One notable area in Ginmura has been nicknamed the "Research District". It is here that many of the city's universities and laboratories are based, studying the various abilities those known as superheroes possess(at least, as far as those who possess superhuman powers are concerned). In addition, they also perform research on monsters in order to better understand the nature of these incredibly dangerous creatures who attack humanity.

All in all, Ginmura proved to be an excellent location for the Japanese SUPER base.

So, um, my friend @Grey Star and I were talking, and we came up with this idea. It's basically an anime superheroes RP, something along the lines of One Punch Man, only with a bit more serious(though still with plenty of silliness potential). Also minus the guy who can explode monsters with a single punch, that would kind of break an RP in half.

In any case, players can be heroes or villains, but monsters are off-limits as playable characters. EX-rank is strictly off limits, as well.

This is a joint effort between myself an @Grey Star, and as a result we'll both be operating as full GM's.

SUPER ranking system for superheroes:
  • E-Class: Low-level, relatively unskilled and lacking in power but proven themselves dedicated enough to join. Must perform at least one heroic act a day to remain a part of SUPER. Heroic acts include helping civilians find lost pets and keeping the town clean. Rank up is by merit. Basic entry level.
  • D-Class: Low-level, but with some exceptional skill or power, and dedication. Must perform at least one heroic act a day to remain a part of SUPER. Heroic acts include helping civilians find lost pets and keeping the town clean. Rank up is by merit. Most common entry level.
  • C-Class: Mid-level. Heroes of this rank have proven themselves quite capable, and have excellent power and skill. They are no longer required to commit one heroic act a day. Rank up by merit.
  • B-Class: High-level. Heroes in this class have displayed above average power and skill, possessing intense capability for the pursuit of justice. Rank up by merit.
  • A-Class: Extremely high-level. Heroes at this level are proven to be incredibly skilled and powerful, as well as having proven their merit in some way. The only way to go beyond this rank is to surpass the system entirely. (Note: A-rank hero numbers are extremely limited. Only a small number will be accepted, though heroes in lower ranks may advance to this level over the course of the RP.)
  • EX-rank: A hero who has surpassed rank entirely. Technically undefinable, these heroes have limitless potential. There are only eight in the entire world, and three in Japan. (Note: Absolutely unacceptable.)

Supercriminal ranking mirrors hero ranking. The number of EX-rank criminals is unknown, but speculated to be low to zero.

Monster/non-human threat Ratings:
  • Drizzle: Easily defeated by any hero, weakest level of monster.
  • Rainstorm: More dangerous, but not out of the realm of a competent D-Class hero's abilities, or even some E-Class.
  • Downpour: A definite hazard. E-Class heroes should avoid attempting to engage this threat unless there is no other course. D-Class should use extreme caution.
  • Thunderstorm: A dangerous monster. Engagement level is C-class and up. Potential loss of human life rated high.
  • Tsunami: An incredibly dangerous monster. C-Class heroes use caution, engagement level is B-Class and up.
  • Hurricane: Potential loss of human life and destruction level extremely high. A-Class level engagement at least, all ranks use extreme caution at the presence of a Hurricane-class threat.
  • Meteor: Extinction-level threat. Immediate deployment of EX-rank heroes recommended.

SUPER Rules and regulations:
  • E and D-Class heroes must perform heroic acts at least once a day to maintain their position in SUPER. D-Class heroes who fail to do so will be ranked down, and E-Class will lose their registration.
  • Harming a Civilian intentionally is punishable by at least a rank down to E-Class level, if not expulsion from SUPER.
  • Property damage is strongly discouraged, but if it is unavoidable no measures will be taken against the offender.

RP Rules:
  • Please listen to @Grey Star or myself. We both jointly came up with this idea and as such are both GM's.
  • Keep tone in mind! Super dark, edgy heroes are not going to be accepted. This is intended to be evocative of One Punch Man, so obviously both more silly things and more serious things are acceptable.
  • EX-ranks are strictly prohibited as player characters. This is due to extreme power level inherent in the rank.
  • A-rank numbers from the start will be limited.
  • Amateur heroes aspiring to join SUPER are absolutely acceptable.
  • Villains are also acceptable.
  • Please follow RPGuild rules.
  • Have Fun!

The RP has started!

People absolutely can still sign up and I very much hope they do.
For many, the day had ended. Adults were returning home from work, children and teenagers were returning home from their clubs, after school. The sun was steadily sinking lower beyond the horizon, the sky bathed in a brilliant orange hue. It was a stunning end to what, for most, was an average day. For most. Certainly, few saw this as anything other than an average day. What could possibly be unusual about it?

These many were, of course, unaware of what the night beckoned. Even before the sun had fully set, there were stirring. Those who wished to fight for it. For the White Night of Klarsberg. Whether it was due to nerves, or a desire to scout their surroundings in order to have a greater advantage, some of those who had come to Rokuro City in order to win the Origin were already stirring. These forces were moving, preparing for the first night of battle for the Origin of All Magic. For this was the last ritual, the one that would decide the victor, the one that would determine who finally, truly obtained the Origin. There was no exact count of the participants, but they all had their own reasons for being involved in such a conflict, for being willing to battle, possibly to the death, for such an end. The Origin of All Magic was, after all, the ultimate, original source of all mana. The endless wellspring of all that was magic as well as the limitless receptacle that stored all knowledge of magic from the moment of the world’s inception.

And yet, Rokuro City as a whole was utterly unaware of such a thing. It was that way when it came to every single battle prior to this. For the world of the uncommon, the unlikely, and the impossible was a secret, kept apart from the world of the mundane by a network of magic, organizations, and individuals keeping that portion of reality hidden from the rest. And so, many of Rokuro’s residents went to their homes or prepared for the night, be it for recreation, work, or even late-night errands, without even the barest scrap of awareness as to what would soon be occurring in their town.

The White Night approaches.

The girl’s long red hair swished through the air behind her. Both hands were firmly jammed into her pockets as she walked, keeping her head down. She had been in Rokuro for a few days now. It was exactly how she had been told it would be. It was a very small city and, as far as cities went, was really quite quiet. For some, it might have been hard to believe how important the location is. However, Ando Asami was quick to accept this fact.

There was really no point in dwelling on it, after all. And so, the red-haired mage continued on, glancing around. It was, so far, fairly routine. Asami had taken to growing more and more used to the town’s layout, strolling the streets so she was fully aware of their battlefield, and the places where it would be unlikely some innocent civilian could stumble into everything. As she walked, her eyes travelled briefly to those around her. People returning from work, students returning from clubs, and all variety of people were on the streets. Given the volume of students, and the fact that she had been close to it before, Asami was certain she was near the high school. Up ahead she could even see the buildings giving way to a clearer area that was likely the schoolgrounds, if she had to make a guess. It was a portion of the city she had yet to explore in her preparations for the upcoming night. She assumed that there would be other schools not too far away. The shopping district, too, was nearby…

Taking her hands from her pockets, the younger of the two daughters of the Asami family stretched. She could feel it, anxiousness inside her. It was only natural given what would be happening so soon. But it was really kind of frustrating! She wanted to be more collected given what was going to be taking place, but… Jeez. It was hard to be.

… People were going to lose their lives. There was no easy way to think of it. For the sake of gaining the Origin, people were going to die. Asami had known this since the moment she made her decision to fight in this battle to claim the White Night. But… it was a chance unlike any other. A chance to claim something like this… Even if she had less faith in her family’s ideal than she once had, there was no way she could pass up this chance. These people who involved themselves in something like this… they knew what they were getting involved in, didn’t they? They had to.

Asami sighed. Regardless, she had to win. She’d keep innocent people out of the battles, and she’d win. It sounded simple, and Asami kept that firmly in mind.

She paused briefly, contemplating what next to do. Soon it would be time for the final preparations…. Maybe she should grab something to eat first.

The white-haired girl quietly adjusted her bag. With the small amount of money she had been given for the day, she had managed to purchase a new book. Of course, speaking to the cashier had… it wasn’t easy, speaking to people like that… so she had simply tried to indicate what she wanted by holding up the book and her money in the most direct ways she could manage. She liked her selection, but… but the cashier was so intimidating, she had so much energy…

Shi gripped her bag tighter, as her crimson eyes traveled skywards, across the deep orangey hues playing across the clouds as the sun set. It was approaching, wasn’t it… The tiny girl nodded to herself. Yes, it was soon. There was a strict order to things that would follow. First she had to head to the appropriate location, which would begin shortly.

She tried to keep her head down as she walked. She wanted to drop off her new book first, and… she didn’t want to be the center of attention. She didn’t want people looking, there were so many people… even with her cover as a middle school student, she still tried to avoid other people as much as she could. Shi had been approached before, asked about her looks… what did she say to something like that?

Her mind centered on her objective.
I'm reluctant to skip, but it's looking like I don't have many options.
Accepted!
Have to agree there. Dark and troubled and half-demon also cannibalistic? ^^;
I may post the IC tomorrow at this rate, as I want to get this going. However, it'll be left open for people to sign up.
Miyu actually would try to help the others if she knew how, but she really doesn't.

So her only recourse is to demand candy for being scared.
