Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Saber would cross the room and bisect him before he even finished yelling "JEANNE!"

... And then finish asking her Master the all-important question.
Althienna Ly Van Del Vanten

The ritual involved in the procurement of a Heroic Spirit... until recently, it wasn't something Althienna had put too much thought into. Oh, certainly, the Grail War was nothing to be simply ignored... but Althienna had decided it was simply not her duty, unless she was selected as a representative, to concern herself with it. To be quite frank, she found herself happier that way. It was easier to immerse herself in things she enjoyed without worrying about planning for something so... hazardous. But now that she had been selected for such a matter, well... To be truthful, she found herself rather excited really. At the moment she was uncertain, she had to confess. But at the same time, well... Althienna had some hopes!

One of them was admittedly rather silly, the silver-haired magus had to admit, as she studied the book for the fourth time that day.

Althienna wanted, whatever hero she summoned, to be cute. Oh, and powerful too, but if they were cute wouldn't that be a lovely bonus? Of course it would be! Ah, but this was a serious duty, that she had to take seriously. Worrying about the potential cuteness of whatever Servant she summoned was almost entirely irrelevant. And so, as the announcement came, she took her suitcase and got to her feet, shutting the book and setting it aside. This place was strange, really... so much technology that she was hardly familiar with and had little need for. After all, she was a magus.

Still, she proceeded along to the meeting room... and as she arrived, was rather surprised to see that the room was full of magic circles. So they had already prepared for summoning Servants?

Smiling to herself, quietly, Althienna took a place beside a circle with... ah, what was that? A few scraps of curled, golden hair, perhaps...?
Fanilly gave the engineer-knight as somewhat bleary look as he spoke to her, then took a deep breath. No, she couldn't let on how tired she was. The battle against the Barukstaed warrior had been a rather intense one, and when she'd returned all the exhaustion had hit her all at once. She really wanted to have a bath and get some sleep, but of course she had to explain the situation as much as she could to those who hadn't been there.

"The kitchen seems unharmed, I've been told that someone involved with that wants to speak to me," she began, after a few moments. The fact that there had been explosions was... worrying but from what she had been informed there wasn't any actual damage. Just some... particularly strange occurrences.

"As for the... the demon girl," Fanilly continued, hesitating a bit as she spoke. She'd quite frankly never expect to ever see a demon, so the fact that she had was almost overwhelming. But no, she had to keep herself calm. "She... came from the armor of an ally from the Raven Knights. That's all we really know about her for now, which is why we've chosen to hold her for the time being."

After a moment's pause, the short blonde continued.

"Are there any other questions? I know there were those who wanted to speak to me," she added. Hopefully they would come forward quickly and Fanilly could clean herself up and sleep soon.

Beatrice stared blankly for a few moments, uncomprehending of what was being said to her by the foreign rabbit girl. Then, it occurred to her. She'd been mistaken for Fanilly? Ah, no! She wasn't Fanilly! She was not a knight, and certainly she was no-where near as pretty and-she definitely wasn't Fanilly was the point!

"A-ah, no, I... I am not Mistress Fanilly," stuttered the brunette girl, blushing and averting her eyes nervously.

Viora decided to take over at this point. "Mistress is on a mission, though I believe they may have just returned."

Alaree, who had set the steaks aside on the counter, frowned. "Ah, jeez, that means we're gonna have to help out, right? Though I guess there's plenty of perks when it comes to helping Mistress with her bath... But what are we gonna do about these steaks?"

Viora sighed, suppressing the urge to bury her face firmly in her palm. "They'll be fine."
Akitsushima is not a neighboring country.

In any case, I think there has been some IC misreading of what's been occurring in the RP. I'm not sure if it extends to OOC either, but at the same time I don't think this is good for the RP nor anyone involved in the conversation.

While I still maintain that it's a poor interpretation of events, if it's IC, fine. And again, negative opinions of Fanilly are fine. It's not like I don't invite it with the set-up of the RP and her bio. I just think in this case it's not exactly the best interpretation of what's occurring.

However, I'd rather not fill the OOC with this.

So, moving on, like I said before, I plan on moving the RP ahead relatively soon, though there's some people I'd like to see post first before I do.
Yes she is.

Yes she is.

... No seriously I've honestly never seen another version of Jack the Ripper that was more interesting. They usually go for "generic psychopath", which, um, I mean is quite possibly what Jack the Ripper was in real life, but that doesn't mean that in media you have to go with that interpretation. A sympathetic take(who is still kind of a scary murderer if you get down to it, especially if her Master is prone to that kind of stuff) is a lot more interesting. That and they actually explain the rationale behind her skimpy outfit. For once.

Anyway, as for the whole "balanced Grail War!" thing, that's an oxymoron.

The Grail War, in canon, was never, ever made to be balanced. It's repeatedly mentioned that some classes are inherently weaker and need to be sneaky and underhanded. It's mentioned a lot. Yes, Saber is powerful(especially since Arturia is literally the best Saber and best character) but it's not really rigging.

The Grail War is an inherently unbalanced affair, which is why you get some cheaty methods and underhanded, brutal tactics. Some classes literally need to do that to win. You're meant to play to your classes's strengths.

When it's Assassin, you go for Masters and try and strike when their Servant is distracted. When it's Caster, you play the long game and prepare as much as possible. Saber, you're up-front offense. And so on and so forth.

You really shouldn't be expecting balance.
Favorite class is Saber. Like, absolutely. Because original flavor Arturia is best.

... Least favorite... I... guess Assassin? Outside of the few I like, like Jack, it's not as exciting.
... Okay, going to make this clear. ^^;

The character is wrong about more then a few things, and if it comes up in conversation with other characters it'll be pointed out.

Thieves would definitely be punished for one thing. The Iron Roses are a legendary knight order and all, I would think they wouldn't tolerate thieving. ^^;

And to get this straight, I have no problem with people doubting Fanilly. I explicitly mention people doubting Fanilly. She even doubts herself.

But, um... the fact is that every single captain of the Iron Roses for two hundred years has been female. That's the entire existence of the Iron Rose Knights. Doubting her because she's female doesn't make sense with the setting lore.

I mean, sure, doubt her for her youth, her not-exactly-intimidating looks. There's plenty of reasons people are doubting her. Her being a girl isn't one of them though.

I really don't want to seem like I'm saying I don't want people having negative views or anything. So please don't think that. My issue is mainly with how it clashes with details of the setting itself.

... Oh, and the "Yare yare" is a little bit gratuitous since, while this is heavily anime-inspired, most of the characters aren't from the Japan analogue.

Anyway on another note if no-one is really interesting in talking to Fanilly right now after she showed up I can timeskip but I'll give more time for people to post.
@Lonewolf685: In fairness, her demons are the type that's formless until emobdied, and she gives them bodies, and, well... they're not always the scariest things around.
Well, she goes best with someone who can play off of her weirdness. So more of a straightman type?
Hmm, I'm seriously stuck on finding a Master I think meshes well with Faust... hmm.
