Over the Ages Episode 1: All that Remains

I have work till 9:15 pm PST tomorrow and the same on the following day. I will try to finish the Technology portion of the Codex tomorrow and follow up with Magic the day after. I appreciate seeing all of the character sheets! I have worked out a Co-GM so once the main sections of the Codex are completed, we will deliberate on the sheets. Since some have dropped out, it is highly likely that all of them will be accepted. If that is the case, be prepared for some GM scrutiny to line the sheets up more accurately with the lore. I doubt I'll need to do that all too much since you all are faithfully relying on the Codex to make your characters. Thank you for the interest and dedication shown thus far. :)

Interesting, is it possible to host an AI into your own body like an augmentation in a sense? I want a mini-Jarvis (or Navi... but prefer the former) with me if possible.

Well it wouldn't be impossible. But the AI would be destroyed if the region where it's processing unit is gets destroyed. With that in mind, you'd probably want to have replaceable class 1 or 2 AI or have the AI in a safe location while your character has a sort of neural uplink connected to it at all times, in which case you would just need to get a new uplink if it gets destroyed.

Ah right, I saw this question earlier but was too busy to answer.

The body remains where it is or was if it was completely destroyed. This is the immortals most fragile point as anybody can do anything with the bodies afterward; which goes to my lore where immortals have been captured but never held, usually because when they wake up, they usually escape with the use of magic or another group of immortals comes to get them out.

Immortals work together to try and prevent this, so if one dies, the other(s) can take the body to a safe place so they can resurrect. If a body is completely destroyed, it's advisable to just keep an eye on the area and be ready for when the immortal resurrects. Body parts come back in an instant flash of light, so a full body being resurrected is just an incredibly bright flash and boom, human. It should be noted that clothes don't regenerate with the immortal, so the others on recovery duty should pack a change of clothes for them when they return. :P

This information will be added to the Immortals codex entry after I have gotten the rest of the codex established so people can begin working on their characters in full detail.

That's fair enough. As I already said, I didn't want to seem arrogant, I only expressed my thoughts regarding the plot and what I personally think is possible and impossible. Perhaps I should have expressed myself differently so I suppose it's a good time to bring up that I'm not a native English speaker.
My additions were meant to be proposals to you so it is up to you whether they are implemented or not. Thank you for elaborating on your thought process, I didn't see it that way. Now that that's out of the way, I'll be working on a character sheet, that is if I'm still welcome after this little "scuffle".

I understand. Just keep in mind we're all here to have fun on our free time. This goes for everybody, not just you, that I don't appreciate keyboard warriors. So if you really feel the need to argue, take it to PMs or have me mediate it in a place where it doesn't clutter the OOC and make others uncomfortable.

Well then. I'll set the record straight.

Water supply is taken from the oceans and filtered/purified to be drinkable. There is enough water from lakes and oceans and ice to sustain the world, considering that today, we're sustaining and we only inhabit under 30% of the space on Earth today with 7 billion people. Considering the population has doubled to 14 billion, we'd be sitting at under 60% total occupied where the Earth is 70% covered in water, we'd still have a surplus if things are looked at in that perspective (not real math but good enough to convey the point). Combine that with recycling and yes, water is a non-issue. Food is also massed produced and since a good chunk of the population is more machine than man, not everybody requires food.

Resources that have been exploited and depleted have been replaced with effective alternatives and artificial materials.

Considering that the entire population ISN'T in LA today, then there's no reason to suggest that some massive exodus to one spot occurred at any point either. People like space, nations like boundaries and not everywhere in a city is home to individuals. Industrial sectors, economic centers, political centers aren't the same as residential centers. Lots of space is devoted to manufacturing, recycling and powering the massive platforms surrounding the Earth.

Now, regarding this argument that is brewing. I understand the skepticism, but please remember that this setting is still a work in progress and others are free to provide their input to help flesh out the world. We don't have the ability to look five thousand years into our future and see how Earth and Humanity is going to end up so this setting is fantasy and doesn't need to be realistic. I'm explaining at a capacity to make one think 'I can picture this' without having them go into the physics and logic behind it since there shouldn't be. How would Coruscant in Star Wars be logical? And that's like a super-sized version of this setting's Earth. Please, everybody, read other's posts neutrally to not get the wrong idea.

@Whoami Hey, surprise, surprise but I have another question I'd like to ask :P How would the Immortal's age work? Like physically? Would they age normally (if far slower) on a physical level then, upon death/revival be young again, or how would that work? And if that's mentioned in the OP and I missed it, do tell me. I have a tendency of skimming things at time if not careful xD

Immortals stop aging from the point they are granting immortality. Simply put, if you are granted at the age of 30, you're 30 for the rest of your life.

Also, regarding the mental stability of immortals, this is why they spend time with Sempra-Tor to reflect on their and learn after death, so hey aren't driven batshit crazy.
