A New World

(Mood Music)

The angel could feel a pain in her heart when the Shield Hero expressed his disdain for the situation. She understood not liking being ripped from whatever life he was leading before. But to turn his back so soon... It hurt Auriel. She wanted to chase after him, to try and convince him otherwise. But she was just a stranger to the man, what could she possibly say to make the situation better? Auriel prayed that he would come to his senses and return. But a part of her knew that, deep down, he wasn't coming back. Her thoughts were dialed back in when she heard the Spear Hero speak. "You can just call me Flin. My full name is Flin Meeru." he said in return to Auriel.

Auriel once again smiled bright and gave him a nod in acknowledgement. She was about to say how happy she was to meet him, specifically just to try his name on for size, before some soldiers walked in with bags full of money. Wow... With that kind of money, Auriel could do a lot for so many people. But she couldn't think that way, her leader and companion would need proper equipment to face the challenges ahead. She followed alongside him, taking the lead at times to guide him out of the palace that she was quite familiar with. She perked up when Flin asked about places to stay. "Well, there are a few taverns around Melromarc that we could stay in. Alternatively we could go to the Cathedral where I live. My mother makes some incredible rabbit stew for the orphanages, I'm sure she'd be willing to spare some for us, and lend you a bed as well."

It wasn't long before Auriel led the hero out of the palace and into the streets of Melromarc's capital. It didn't take long for people to flock to them. After all, there was this man dressed in otherwordly clothing, carrying a legendary spear, and accompanied by the guardian angel. It didn't take much to put two and two together. Auriel bit her lip, "Ahh... I didn't think about the attention you'd be getting in the streets. I'm sorry! I'll try to make them give you space!"

Auriel found herself winding around Flin in every direction, smiling and bowing her head apologetically to the most inquisitive people. Auriel would sometimes find herself also wrapped up in her own attentions from the crowd. Kids would scramble and cling to her legs or try to pluck feathers from her wings. Their mothers would try to collect them from the poor angel so she could keep pace with Flin. She seemed like quite the celebrity in her own right. Blacksmiths and merchants seemingly followed up with Auriel about past dealings they might have had with her, and even tried to sweet talk her to get the Spear Hero's business endorsements. After all, every hero needs a favorite store in the capital. The further into the streets they went, Auriel became more and more flustered with onlookers rushing toward them.

"Oh heavens above..." Auriel let out a sigh as the crowds seemed to break, "The cathedral isn't much further ahead thankfully. I was starting to get dizzy from all that."

@Jensoman
Will post tonight.
Short simple post to keep the interactions moving along. We could move onto the next scene you had in mind, I think from this point on the posts will mostly be similar small talk.

"I..I see. I accept you within my party, Auriel. I am happy to have you. I do hope that you can teach me more about this world, as I am very unfamiliar with...anything, really." said the Spear Hero.

Auriel was both relieved and thrilled. She raised her eyes to meet his for the first time, and they were positively alight with joy. The even seemed to be have watered just a slight bit as well. Auriel smiled bright to him and nodded, "Thank you! There is much I can teach you about our world, Spear Hero. And it would be my pleasure to share it with you."

The angel brushed some golden hair back over her shoulder and looked over to the rest of the heroes, "That goes for all of your great heroes. I am here to see you all to success. All you have is but to ask, and I will answer to the best of my ability."

Auriel looked back to the Spear Hero, realizing she hadn't yet gotten his name. "Is there something else I can call you? Aside from Spear Hero, that is."

@Jensoman
I'll get a post up tomorrow morning. :D
Alright how do you want me to handle the shield hero guys? I can kill him off, and do a re-summon so to speak?

Maybe a kill-off, it'd raise the stakes of the RP a bunch ^.^

Auriel listened to the shaman's words. He had a point, this was a momentous occasion for everybody, not just her. It made sense that she wasn't the only nervous one there. When he patted a wing, Auriel couldn't help but wince a bit from a mild pain. But she did well to not show the weakness any more than a slight twitch that could be taken as a surprise sensation. Auriel let out a long, slow breath, and smiled to the shaman. "Seize the moment... Okay. I think I can do that."

When they were called into the throne room, Auriel felt a sudden surge of adrenaline. This was it. This was now. She could feel butterflies in her stomach as she stepped toward the grand doors leading into the the throne room. She looked up at the large wooden doors as if they were the gates to heaven. It seemed like an eternity for them to swing open far enough to fit the group through. Auriel was the last into the room, most likely because her nerve had slowed her down some. She first spotted the dominant piece in the room, the throne occupied by the young king. Then, standing before the king, were the four heroes. She could feel her cheeks flush a bit, though she wasn't sure why. Was she embarrassed to be standing in the presence of such legendary heroes?

Her eyes moved between the four of them, taking in their appearances. They seemed so... Exotic. So otherworldly. She knew that they were of course, but actually seeing them compared to how she envisioned them, it was a completely different feeling. Auriel followed Cleo and the Shaman closer to the group, and heard the king tell them to accompany a hero. She wanted to be with them all, to aid them toward a common goal they all shared. But it seemed that wasn't the case. They'd all need a personal companion. Somebody they could trust and consider as a friend in this alien world she was sure they viewed it as. Auriel watched Cleo go to the Shield Hero, an older looking man who appeared to be in complete shock about everything. Then she saw the Shaman move toward the female hero, the Bow Hero. She seemed to have a chip on her shoulder, which intimidated her slightly when paired with the immense power she now wielded. Her golden eyes turned to the two remaining heroes, the Sword and Spear heroes.

Auriel's eyes rested on Flin, the Spear Hero. She fought with a spear as well, perhaps she could train Flin in its use and expedite his improvement. Auriel stepped toward him and bowed. Her wings unfurled a bit, curling forward with her. Suddenly, she felt all of the anxiety of greeting the heroes wash away. She was where she wanted to be, and now that it was happening, everything just fell into place. "Spear Hero. Greetings and thank you for answering the summons... I am Auriel, and it is my sacred duty to assist you and the other heroes against the upcoming trials our world faces. Please accept my vow of servitude." Auriel kept her head down while she waited for an answer from the Spear Hero. Her heart was practically beating out of her chest.
