Maggie Grey

Maggie glared at him a moment. "What is your name?"

She glanced over at Fluffy who was chewing on some wood and had a leaf sticking out of his mouth. She checked him out a little. This time he was wearing clothes. She noticed that he seemed very confident in himself.

"Why are you on my land?" Maggie demanded of him.

"I don't like strangers on my land."

Maggie was coming out of the water when her senses told her that she was not alone. Scanning the area for signs of life all she saw was Fluffy on his back sleeping. She rung her hair out over his belly and he yelped and rolled to his side. Laughing she said, "Lazy ass dog!"

He trotted off into the trees and she pulled her top off of the leaves and started to shake the leaves off of it. Her senses told her that there was someone watching her. Her nose was picking up something unusual too. Crinkling her nose she sniffed and smelled a musky scent.

"Come out from there, who is it? Come out here or I'll kick your ass!"

It had taken hours to get home in the dark. Maggie fell into her bed and slept til almost noon. Fluffy had rolled onto his back and had his feet up in the air snoring in his dog bed. When she awoke she snorted in laughter at her silly dog and headed into the shower. After making an attempt to figure out last night she decided it was best not to go out that far again. This time leaving earlier she headed into the woods a little further south with her head phones on and Fluffy by her side. She knew there was a waterfall near one of the old cliffs and she wanted to stop for a swim there. She had put on her good running shoes, some shorts, a top and a bikini on underneath.

After running for more than an hour she found herself looking for the waterfall. For the first time since she was told about her parents accident she felt a little like herself. Pulling everything off except the bikini she dove in. Fluffy lay on the ground near her shoes and napped as she splashed around.

Maggie watched the blond man and her temper began to flare up as he broke her only weapon. "Your territory?" she yelled at him while looking to see the naked man and two women standing there. "This is my parents property! What are you and your weird, naked friends doing out here?" Shaking her head while trying to figure out how they turned from wolves to people she assumed it had to be stress from the funeral.

Turning around and closing her eyes she counted to ten in her head. "Look, I buried my parents today and the stress is messing with my head. Just...come on Fluffy. We have to find our way home." She pulled on her dog's collar and he turned to follow her.

Maggie's eyes went wide and she grabbed Fluffy's collar as he came over to her and stood next to her. As she watched the wolf transform into a man and stepped back and fell to the ground. She scrambled to her feet to turn and see Fluffy standing between her and the man who she suddenly realized was naked. She turned her eyes away from his body and looked at the other wolves who seemed more on alert but not ready to attack.

"What?" Feeling the need to have a weapon she reached down and picked up a three foot stick.

"What are you? ... and what do you mean what am I doing here?" She looked at him daring him to try anything. Her grip tightened on her stick as Fluffy growled protectively.

Maggie handed the funeral director a check and walked outside. Feeling completely out of her element she looked around and walked slowly to her car. At home she waited patiently for all of her parents' friends to leave the house. The house felt so empty without them. Her dog, Fluffy was a huge black lab that was anything but Fluffy who stayed by her side and licked everyone that came near her. He was her last link to her old life. After everyone left she went upstairs and changed out of her black dress and slipped into her jeans a tank top and her running shoes.

"Come on Fluff, Let's go for a run."

Darting down the stairs her dog bounded after her. Slamming the backdoor as she ran out she headed up into the rugged terrain behind her parents house. She ran and ran harder still and when darkness fell she stopped and sat and cried for quite some time. Maggie stood back up and realized that she had run further than she had in ages and she was unsure of her surroundings. She pulled out her phone for a light and as the sound of howls filled the night she pulled Fluffy closer to her. When Fluffy whined by her side she leaned up against a tree and pulled him to her.

"Come on let's try to stay calm and quiet." Fluffy smelled something getting nearer to them. He started baring his fangs and growling. He pulled away and darted into the trees after something. Maggie took off chasing him.

"Fluffy! Stop, come back!" When she caught up to him he was encircled by three wolves. Her heart was beating out of her chest at the fear for her dog.

Maggie is smart and hard headed. She has no idea that werewolves exist. At 19yrs old she is returning home from college because her parents were killed in a car accident.

Alexis

Walking back to Elias, Alexis took his hand in hers and looked him in the eye. "They can wait. I need you to realize that we can still hunt and do whatever we want til we are ready to settle down with a family. This isn't a trap for us. It's letting us be freer than we are right now. We will have the money to do whatever we want and the authority to do it since we will not have to answer to anyone but each other. I don't want to give up hunting, do you?"

She couldn't help but see resentment in his eyes in the future and it scared her. What if he grew to hate her? Could she let him go, down the line? The thought struck a painful chord in her. If at some point he wanted out then she would have to let him no matter the scandal that would go with it.

Alexis wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged herself to him. "Why does it feel more like I am losing you than gaining your protection?"

There was a knock at the door and Alexis broke the magical dome. "Yes?"

A servant opened the door a little bit. "Miss Alexis you and Mr. Elias are being requested to return downstairs."

Sighing she nodded, "Thank you. We'll be down in a moment." Alexis walked over to her mirror and looked at her eyes. They looked like normal eyes again. "After this is over I'll need a stiff drink. What about you?" She turned to him and allowed him to take her arm formally to lead her downstairs.
