@AlfhedilUm, acccording to this source, WW2 soldiers were already carrying some 40 kilos of equipment and gear. As incredulous as it initially sounds.
Tripling it won't be possible, neither it makes sense.
An armor which doesn't cover mot of the limbs or such but 5mm thick would weigh around 25 kilos.
So at best you're raising their load to 65 kilos (which is of course pretty ridiculously lot),

I realize it may not be the most accurate scenario, but the way I have it setup makes things a lot easier on me.
You asked people to help with other countries. I can help smoothing things out as much as my time allows it.
As I said, UK couldn't have dodged participating in WW1. If their anti-french sentiments win out at best it means the Entente never forms and instead each nation would fight the Central Powers individually. Which would sure give an advantage to Germans regardless.
Letting the Germans pass through Belgium is just an overkill.
Similarly if the German leadership realizes it's stupid to provoke the USA when they have their hands full it can help their efforts a great deal.
As for outcome, the war would've ended long before conquering France and the Central Powers would be satisfied to only take the colonies and some disputed land (plus portions they had already conquered).
I predict this version of WW1 ending in 1917, maybe even before the Bolsevik uprising concludes.
The lack of knowledge on the uprising's success may give them the uncertainty to not push this war further and go for the peace talks. After that the Central Powers would have their hands full with the colonies and in case of Hasburgs also some of the national issues.

As for Germany's situation, nationalism will grow but something like the Nazi Party would never gain much power. A considerable source of anti-semitism was actually that Germans (and Austrians) were looking for an excuse why they lost the war.
Suprisingly it seems like almost everybody is going with some sort of fascism or autocracy. Only one Republic.

I thought that my nation would be the odd one out, as a Conservative-extremist government and one of the last remaining absolute monarchies.
Mine is pretty close to a republic. One push and the emperor is reduced into a figurehead. He has right to technically veto almost any law forming in the parliament yet this tool is almost never used, for example.

I taste a vague hint at the Polish in your mention of charging tanks, I mind you that such information isn't very accuarate. Much like the infamous reputation the French have for being cowards. But I can't deny that it never happened. :) Anyway, elves and griffens but the rest of the world is normal. Then that seemsa bit out of place right?
Kinda but it's the same as when I came to the realization that based on my location compared to others my nation became India.
Further cemented by the fact that nations towards the east to me are basically China, Korea and Japan.
This is explicitly a fantasy setting. While magic and extremities are better to be avoided, we discussed the use of various fantasy races and unique materials before.
It isn't my fault that all the other nation apps posted in the characters page use only humans so far.

Cavalry was surprisingly commonplace in WWII and it saw a big spike in usage during and after the Napoleonic Era. Granted, I don't mean cavley with lanches and knights' armor, but rather just the use of horses instead of vehicles in rough terrain. I actually plan for part of Tin's army will be traditional cavalry, seeing as Tin is somewhat...backwards.
I didn't say cavalry had no place in the world wars. They offered cheap transport for troops to be deployed on the field. Same with the various bycicle units.
The thing is just that some people were not aware of the changing times and attempted to rush down armored vehicles with cavalry carrying rifle, sabers and bayonets.
Given that in this setting something like WW1 never happened I bet most nations have yet to figure out the true potentials of the modern weaponry. Yllendthyr is likely one of them.

I agree that it's an odd combination, but so far there hasn't been much of the magical sort. Aside from the elves and griffins, there are a few fantasy metals that people have made and such. Nothing overtly magical or extreme. The focus of the setting is more on technology than on magic.
Griffins in the age of airplanes isn't any more odd than cavalry being used in both WW1 and WW2.
We even have these cavalry on rare (stupid) occasions attempting to charge at tanks. With the expected effect.
I can see some chivalry-obsessed cavalry reader attempting to outdo Messerschmitts in a dogfight.
Imagine "flying horsemen" armed with rifles and maybe submachineguns trying to shoot down fighters that fly twice as fast as them.

I'm a little uncertain of what races and creatures this world has exactly. I saw the mention of Dwarves and the mention of a Giant Birds for some form of air cavalary. Mixing that with World War I/Interbellum technology seems a bit odd, but doable. So if one of you could be nice enough to give me a minor heads up on what's what, I might join once I know what i'm working with.
You can read the characters page of this thread for starters. It has almost everything we discussed before.
Anyways, I'm pretty active in this thread and I don't remember giants or dwarves ever being mentioned.
My race has elves as the ruling class (but human majority for various reasons, and 10% "other" races which yes, planningly involves some dwarves). Check out my nation app to see what elves in this setting are going to be like.
Everyone else's nation app only humans in the characters page albeit a few players plan using other races, never mentioned which race, though.

As for giant birds, my elves have the tradition of riding griffins almost like what horses are for other races. Griffins aren't really that amazing in battle, though. Griffins can't carry much weight and if you match them against a typical WW2 fighter you get a massacre of big birds. They were quite terrifying back in the middle ages, though, albeit shooting ground targets from the skies was far from the most effective method. Basically they were used mostly for the psychological effect and because they could get anywhere faster than other means.
Stats in a freeform RP should be only ever used as bare information or ways to quickly resolve situations like "who's stronger".
I personally run mecha RPs where you had stats and I even gave people a rough idea what kind of differences they show. Then I also told the players that while stat differences could be big you can bridge it if you write out a scene well.
Basically I treated it as a "difficulty level" when writing a fight. You could've breached the armor of an extremely tough machine but it took effort and likely abusing its weakpoints. Meanwhile when your stats are greater you could've practically handled a low threat situation with one or a few sentences.
That was my idea on the thing. Execution was admittedly a bit different but things pretty much worked out in the end.
Mostly writing OOC
I'm very interested in this, is there room for another?
Even if weren't we have plenty of colony worlds and such so if you don't mind to build on somebody else's nation app RP-ing as a colony or in one case a recently conquered nation is still an option.
But that's just a fallback idea of mine.
There's no comprehensive political map posted yet but I think there are still spots on the map which nobody claimed.
So you're still fine, IMO.
