I updated my map with my finalish colonial claims.
Remember that colonies are undeveloped countries thus their contribution to your national power is only their resources.
Same for me. As well as they provide staging points to distant lands. For example I drew a few dots close to Verendes and Avalia (still roughly a thousand kilometers away) so I can keep trading with them without other nations' interference.

My suggestion is that @Isotope could claim the rest of Usea, while Osea will be our Africa of sorts.
Scramble for Africa, anyone?

@Willy VerebSo is this RP dead offically?
I have 5 other games at the moment.
I should say, indefinitely suspended.

What land is up for grabs?
Most of them.
Albeit technically there's a limit on the size of the area you can grab. A scale which is smaller than Russia but almost as large as Europe.

@duck55223The game sounds promising and I have an old nation idea for this from before.
BTW, are fantasy races/metals allowed? Just asking. I don't actually need them but it's important to know.
As for maps, I don't have much skill at making maps albeit I can help in terms of editing.
@MetalLoverWe have a similar game going with @Unfortunately
Check the game called On The Brink of Instability.
Maybe the two of you together can work out something.
Just curious - are nukes still effective? What are the kinds of WMDs now?
I had a lengthy response explaining everything to you but my browser crashed so I can only say that look up the OOC. Most of your questions were addressed before.
As for nukes versus spaceships. Of course nukes are still very dangerous. Imagine a nuke versus naval ship.
We have no energy shields or supermaterials. While warships may resist MW lasers for a while almost any decent weapon could be fatal with decent hit. The best bet for survival to not receive any hits when possible.
I'll make a tiny essay on "realisstic" space combat when I get the time.
@BingTheWing

So, uh... am I good?

Are numbers still necessary? This is my first NRP, and I'm not used to calculating military strength through statistics.

I think I might have to revise my CS a bit, I seem to have overlooked the severity of the rareness of oil. Also I found out that liquid hydrogen and not oil powers spaceships, so they have a point on that there.

*sputters*

Alright, screw Alaska, I'll do something else. Maybe Southeast Asia, Central America or Tibet will suit me better.
The numbers shouldn't be neccessary. They are more of a flavor text, IMO.
As for oil running out, yup, that's part of the plot. I think your nation can work even without oil but as you wish.
And yeah, spceships were never rereally powered by oil.
Also if we are at it I doubt interstellar exploration would have much relevance to this game. So there's no need for cyro and generation ships.
As for space warships... let me get to my computer and I write something about it.
... It seems I was misled to the relative realism this RP promised.

I pull out completely, enjoy the rest of your time.
It is.
Far more than any sci-fi themed game as of late. Still, we need to consider the fact that not all people are military historians or have the energy to research everything.
Then again, we don't support ridiculously large armies, either. In a sense it may be even better if we don't mention it or if we do then pass it as flavor text because it'll be unlikely we'd encourage people to wring out their calculators and engage in a war of numbers.

So yeah, unless you though this would be an ultrarealistic simulation instead of a fun game in a "realistic" near future setting, you're welcome back!

I'd quite like to make some history with you and @Skepic.

@Willy Vereb You too, you haven't responded to that last PM in two days :P
Can't we unite these PMs into one so we can actually dicuss things?
Also I think I didn't respond because I already gave you answer to what you asked me for.
If you wanted to know something else it's a whole different thing, though.

Bolt-action is reliable, accurate, enduring and overall good.
Yllendthyr is in the process of replacing them with semi-automatic rifles for the Dyrdg but less priority units still have them at large.
My Seathwyr use bolt action rifles most of the time, too. Granted they're elite light infantry and when assigned to a platoon they become designated marksmen.
And then I have Aramegyr units where the nobles at timesdecided to make their armies use traditional pre-cartridge rifles an other archaic weapons because either that's what they're used to handle or just out of "honor" and similar reasons.
Aramaegyr units in general are quite weird.
