JOHN CENA the Fair and Just, holy high priest, savior of the people, lord of the Commonwealth, supreme commander of the Commonwealth Army, vanquisher of darkness, son of Bothgar, descendant of Edgar, brother in law of Inar, second cousin of Falknar, slayer of Gulgar, leader of industry, holy grace of the domains he protects, prevailing guiding light in times of dark shadows, master of the Seven Secret Fighting Arts, patron of Yinglar, married to 80 fine women, father of 920 children, patriarch of the nation, great explorer of the unknown, chaos god of fuckery, musician of epics, epic of music, collector of curios, trinkets and fine cheese, lord baby blender, grand architect of the Imprium, conqueror of Azerbaijan, space toaster Jesus, writer of stories and leader of the eternal crusade vi Narnia the 8th of Walpol.
... Yeah, the elves are sure to ally with you.

In slightly unrelated news, I'm wondering what would be a good title for the Commonwealth's leader. Majordomo makes sense, but then again it also just sounds odd

Maybe Archon? Perhaps even Kaiser, taking on the title of a monarch rather than a democratically elected leader?

In any case I think the lower level officials (governors) will be called Imperators.
Make it Führer or whatever is the equivalent of "Leader" or anything along those lines would be called in your language.
Albeit calling your lower ranks Imperator makes no sense, that's pretty much the original word for the Emperor.
If anything call your glorious leader as Imperator.
Unlike the word it birthed Imperator is pretty much the Latin equivalent of "director". Which would make sense for your leader, too.
He is no emperor, he's the Imperator! That's totally different!

@Willy Vereb

Willy, you complain about nations being too large and then a few days later you claim half the world -_-

I will remain with the Commonwealth having no colonies considering their history, though now I'm considering having those pockets between my nation and Yllendthyr and Zenovia being something akin to satellite states or just countries completely under the Commwealth's influence that are in the process of being peacefully/diplomatically annexed.
I was complaining about the size of core worlds. Because all of us were the size of USA or Russia in the original game. Even for the smallest states you could fit all of Europe in it.
Having "half the world" as colonies is considerably different than owning half the world as a developed and highly industrialized country.
Tell me how many tanks did India produce in comparison to the USSR?
Relatively small nations owning most of the world was pretty much what colonialism was all about.

Well, we did it until the elves took it all.
I am willing to give up most of my colonial territories if there's a good reason for it.
A new player wishing to join is one of those.

@Gig :P

But it's fixed now!

Though the elves have an enormous area of colonial authority now, though I imagine it's loosely regulated or patrolled.
Well, I am actually covering less sea routes than either you or Voltus does.
Partly because my colonies were placed along a certain line.
But yeah, military presence is only enough for policing purposes in general.
Also elven warships are rather fast so they can cover more territory with the same amount of ships.

Well, he could go with the "colonies" actually being puppet states of sorts. Revolutionary Republics they propped up.
Communities of "liberated" proletariat, you mean.
With PRK's presence is only for their "own good" by "helping" them to modernize. A process for which they generously "thank" the PRK by transporting them food and raw materials as "gifts".
Calling these "colonies" is vulgar and only something the imperialist scum would do.

Holy fudge, Willy, way to claim like half the world. I hope those aren't like fully developed colonial possessions, because that seems kind of ridiculous.

Maybe I should have colonies... hmmm
Most of them are like India at best.
Their importance are only as resources and staging points. If they were developed colonies they probably would've declared their independence already.

If no one new joins, I'm anschlussing Antartica /s

I'm still staying out, I was not under the impression that everything in this RP was focused on ultra-realism, but I felt that some level of realism would be imposed. The fact that the profile (no offense to Bing) went through without even so much as a raised eyebrow has made me quite wary of this. whilst I was not going to demand every action and technological marvel in game be justified, it was the level of laxity which put me extremely off-guard, and which I don't think I'm comfortable with, I'm used to more thorough management and scrutiny of "realism".

So I apologies if I came across rather dramatic and self-aggrandizing, but this raised concerns about how the RP would be managed through the game and whether I would want to be involved in that type of hands-off GM'ing, and I'm not certain it fits with the RP style I enjoy.
In that case you're right because this is certainly won't be a game where the GM would actively micromanage things.
It'd be like the rest of the nation games here, GM makes the basic concept, accept players and then everything would be handled by the roleplayers as a whole.

Albeit me and perhaps @MetalLover could help him out. But nothing's set in stone yet.

Whoa there cowboy! If you're doing that I want a slice to add to my scrambled up empire.
Given the way this map was made if you consume the rest of the territories in that small continent as your land then you'd have roughly equivalent sized core world to mine.
At roughly 60 degrees any area is roughly 4 times smaller than at the equator.
So yeah, no problem.
