Bio

I have been writing since I was 17 years old. I am now 33 and I've been enjoying life. Writing is a passion just as reading is. My favorite genre is murder/mystery, but I love fantasy and I love action/adventure. I have published a collection of short stories that can be found on Apple Books, Barnes and Nobles, and Kindle. I have a trilogy in the works, the first part scheduled for release this year.

Yuri is the only one he didn't attack so.... I can reply but ya know I love a good response.
Flare managed to get through the portal with the remaining humans and Yuri mentally sang praises as the portal crackled and closed with a rough implosion absorbing any nearby Pageless and destroying them. Yuri sighed when he opened his eyes and saw Momo lowering the humans on the ground next to the ones he had managed to gather. He hadn't seen the attack on Merlin, and was bewildered when he heard her voice telling them that a Pageless was around.

"Out here? I thought they were all in the building," Yuri questioned.

He couldn't distinguish if there was a presence nearby without elevating his senses. He didn't get a chance because Merlin appeared in front of them. Yuri watched as she telekinetically ensnared the unconscious humans and carried them into the first floor of the building. It took him longer than he dared admit to realize that he was standing in the street with utter shock on his face. They'd just gotten the humans out of the building. Why was Merlin taking them back into the building? He wasn't one to complain, but it seemed counterproductive. Nonetheless, he moved reluctantly towards the entrance before Merlin sealed it with her spell.

"Quite the powerful spell Merlin," Yuri said as he examined the barrier.

His hand twirled and fingers curled through the gas-like energy. He was satisfied at her use of the arcane arts, and yet he often wondered if she was able to focus on one thing and not be scatterbrained. One issue often revealed a bigger picture, one that was sure to involve more than just a simple Pageless trying to gather energy. Yuri had put together that something was different this time than the last few times he'd help thwart the attempts of the Pageless. It felt as if something were off as if something was missing and just out of sight.

"Come forth mighty Monarch and bless us with your power," Yuri muttered as his Monarch staff slammed into the ground in front of them.

The tendrils ended with beautiful arcana gems that held potent power. He had yet to unlock the full potential of the weapon, but it had gotten him out of many stick situations. He reached out, his fingers curling around the beautiful masterpiece. Energy flowed through him as he held it.

"Whatever it is Merlin, I got your back, but calm down before you blow a magical fuse or something," Yuri began as he took a step forward. "Now then, sight beyond sight. Be good little boys and stand guard won't you?"

Three butterflies the size of a stuffed teddy bear appeared two outside of the barrier and fluttered to guard the entrance. They acted like security cameras, scanning the vicinity to ensure nothing could sneak in. One was planted at the entry, the other in the corner of the room they occupied, and finally one across the street higher up to give a better view of the building entry.

"I will check on the workers to make sure they're okay," Yuri said, moving slowly towards them.
Yuri would help Gou deflect the attacks, but he kinda wants to see how Gou handles himself. Sign Master could've swung at Yuri. He might've sliced him in twain, but it would've been worth a try for Sign Master.

Let's see what I can think of as a response.
Don't worry, we got the gas station right here. We can pick some up after.

I say totally Yuri is down for a Slurpee after thwarting evil
If Sign Master hadn't thrown up that wall Luna was gonna offer him a refreshing taste of her slurpee before they threw down.

I mean to be fair Yuri wanted some of the Slurpee but she seemed like she wasn't going to give any.
Yuri knew that his purpose in all of this was to keep the humans safe and that is what he was going to do regardless of what he had to do to accomplish the task. With great speed and agility, Yuri moved from room to room in the building gathering the humans up and teleporting them out of the building. Each time he teleported, he felt slightly drained, but nothing he couldn't come back from. In his swarm form, he was able to move more quickly and get the humans out in the blink of an eye, but he was thankful for Merlin and her little minions showing up to impale any Pageless that attempting to attack him.

"Almost done evacuating the workers, just a couple more and we can get rid of the Jack in a Box responsible for this," Yuri said.

He checked on each worker that was positioned across the street from the building. They were safe and he was happy. The last two were in Flare's proximity and he didn't know if she had a way out. He closed his eyes and allowed the arcane energy of the universe to flow through him like a river. Extending his hand, he moved his wrist in a beautiful intricate manner and watched as a butterfly portal ripped open in front of him. He then locked onto Flare and smirked.

Portal coming your way. Try not to break anything.

In an instant, a portal would appear, but it was not an ordinary portal. Any Pageless that tried to get through it would be electrocuted. Yuri had his eyes closed as he maintained the portal to get Flare out of the building.
@Gentlemanvaultboy that action sequence was awesome
@Searat i made the mistake of leaving my volume up a bit too loud when i listened to the roar, but i really felt that immersion

I'll have my post up after WindsOfFate - assuming we're following our posting order.

also welcome, @ZAVAZggg! I meant to write this yesterday before i got bogged down with assignments but your character and his equipment are pretty cool - looking forward to him dropping in soon!

I posted, and I made it really interesting between Gou and Yuri. LMAO!!!

Let the battle commence.

Just an FYI, Yuri doesn't underestimate, but he also doesn't aggressively try to kill. At the start he will try to reason, if there is no reasoning then he acts, but he never uses all of his abilities and power because if he did it would be catostrophic. Deadly for all.
It was key that he observed his opponent before engaging in any sort of fight. Yuri never underestimated an opponent. All the cultivation efforts he did with the clans of the west and those of the east had built him to remain calm even in the face of imminent danger. The creature displayed an affinity with using everyday signs as a means of protecting itself and attacking others. The way the beam of energy from the Grizzly-1 bent in response to the sign the creature held was impressive. Not only that, but Yuri couldn't help but chuckle at the response the alien gave to all of them arriving to stop it from doing whatever it was it intended to do.

Yuri watched as his fellow guardian of Earth stepped forward to face the menacing sign-wielding creature. It was no secret that warriors of light either knew each other or knew of each other. Yuri knew of nearly all of the saviors of Earth realm, and he kept the information safe in his Grimoire, but he knew not everyone knew of his existence, even though he didn't make it any less obvious who he was. Known as the Butterfly Ninja or Monarch by the public, Yuri did all he could to keep the world safe from various supernatural threats, and today was no different.

He watched Gou enter in through the manhole cover that led to the sewer and shook his head. He vanished and appeared next to him.

"The Yuheng Sect you say? I know your master, quite a lovely man. I also know the Lan Sect masters and a few others," Yuri said with a smirk, "I dated a few of them, but that's a different story. Anyways..."

Yuri's conversation was cut short when the boulders started to fall. He watched as the oar-wielding heroine smashed the boulders to bits, but there were still a few that had managed to escape her oar of destruction. Yuri muttered under his breath and held his hand in front of him in a Buddhist Monk way. The boulders that neared him and Gou shattered instantly without being touched, but if one were to look closely they would notice butterflies striking the boulders and causing another pebble shower. Not a single pebble touched Yuri as he turned his attention back to the sign-wielding maniac. There had to be a weakness to his power. Clearly, it was sign-based, and whatever was on the sign was what happened, but was there a time limit?

By this point, Grizzly-1 was preparing another attack, this one sound-based.

"This might hurt," Yuri said surrounding himself, Gou, and Luna in a soundproof barrier. He then extended his hand and watched as a butterfly fluttered swiftly over to the mechanized machine, affixing itself to the cold metal. The purpose of the butterfly was to increase the power of the machine. Instead of the sonic attack being a normal one, the butterfly amplified it to incredible levels. Thankfully the perfect cube would keep all of it inside and Yuri's soundproof barriers would keep them safe.

Well it as only about an hour or so old. It is you guys who are gaining up on a newborn monster! It'll learn quickly though.

To be fair, Yuri is just watching, but he's making sure Sign Master doesn't get away. The only one attacking is the giant mechanized terror.
I love how this monster underestimates everyone and the power of the cube itself. This should be fun.

Yes the perfect cube prohibits the monster from fleeing, but it originated from Yuri and there are ways to use it to his advantage. Also, let’s see how long that sign lasts.
