Happy New Year! I'd like to summarize some of my master and servant concepts and maybe get some feedback from the potential players about what they would prefer to see/play against?

Master: might be a bit cliche but I was thinking of someone who isn't a trained magus. They'd stumble into the war by chance, probably without a catalyst so they'd need a servant that vibes with them. Once they get their bearings, they'd learn they are talented in defensive spells like barriers - but of course they stand no chance against a top tier magus, let alone a servant.

Servants: I love Berserkers, so all of these ideas are Berserkers, though some can qualify as different classes if we need variety.

My first choice is Tutankhamen, the pharaoh. I talked this over briefly already with Mr. Prez. They can also be an Avenger. Their parameters are low and their skills and NP predictably revolve around curses. They drain Mana/etc from enemies. Their mad enhancement level is low but increases their mania over time. Personality is quiet but ramps up to chaotic as their madness increases.

Next is Yomotsu-shikome, the oni that chased Izanagi out of the under world in Japanese folklore. Can also be a Lancer by "borrowing" the naginata that created Japan from Izanami. Aggressive play style and is very adept at chasing fleeing enemies. Also has an intense hunger that makes for a bigger mana drain on their master. If Lancer, the naginata is their NP. If Berserker, they can split into 8 due to some lore saying they are 8 oni instead of 1.

Last is Narasimha, an avatar of Vishnu like Rama. A lion-man, so they are prideful and majestic, but also a little more aggressive due to their animal traits. They are strictly a hand-to-hand combatant, and their NP is a very simple reflection of their lore: they can attack through any defenses, blocks, walls, magic barriers... Pretty much nothing can defend against his claws, and if it can then it creates the conditions in which his claws can pierce through.

Still working on full sheets for them but I can focus on the one more people would like to see.

maybe this is too much but I'd like to gm a pokemon tabletop rp...

Read through the rulebook and I dig it. I also found this thread about converting Pokemon past the gen the dex is up to into the system, though personally I'm fine with a gen limit but a wider variety of starters might be nice.

Though I must ask, what sort of ideas does everyone have floating around? I usually like to collab a little for Servant sheets, to get some character drama going on.

I'll post a rough CS of my first concept but I have a bunch of Berserker ideas rolling around that some may already know, being Tutankhamen (sort of), Shikome or Narasimha. I like all of these ideas but haven't written them down before, so I'll be using this time to actually get them into a concrete sheet and choose between them.

@Mr President That was perfect, thanks. About EX-level things though - are you considering them a tier higher than A or something hard to quantify? I only ask not because I want to make a super strong servant, but the concept I have in mind might be a little fucky in true Fate-fashion, so I'd like to know if "EX" is acceptable.

I have a question for you regarding parameters. I have seen a lot of interpretations of how parameters work...

For example, that A is ALWAYS better than B, B is ALWAYS better than C, etc. Various interpretations of how the pluses and minuses function, and regarding the EX level... It has always been my understanding it that the letter grades for the parameters are scales rather than hard numbers. Since the class-system is based on RPGs, and there are "checks" involved in some skills, that a servant's parameters are merely modifiers and the "roll" these stats. So, in that case, a servant with a "B" in Agility that rolls high would be faster in that moment than a servant with "A" that rolls low.

For pluses and minuses, I have seen some have pluses just be straight improvements to the stats, but one interpretation I like is that the pluses and minuses are conditional. So a servant with "C-" Strength would functionally have a "C" except for in specific circumstances (such as vs. beasts) where their strength would go down slightly.

EX has always been tricky and I have seen both that EX is simply a power above A, and that EX is a variable grade OR something hard to quantify. I personally am not a fan of the hard power up version.

...so I am curious to know how you will approach this?

She had no problems talking to people - introducing herself, consoling others, sticking up for people or speaking her mind, none of that phased her. Heather was very close with her younger sister, and when she disappeared it deeply affected Heather. She grew a little more withdrawn, a little more cold, a little more pessimistic. When she wasn't needed at her job her mind was filled with a singular purpose, sometimes leading to her spacing out in conversations.

Desire: To find her sister, nothing else.

Effigy Emblem: Heather's emblem takes the form of a curled earring. It's permanently affixed to her ear, but losing the entire ear is a good way to separate her from it. The head of the earring sometimes transmits whispers from her sponsor. The emblem grants her the manifestation of her desire to seek out someone - her eyes can see through things. Physical things like doors, walls, and even people are no problem. With some effort, it also allows her to see through more complex things: lies, puzzles, even into dreams. For the immaterial things, the more something is hidden in the psyche the harder it is for Heather to "look" at it, and the more strain it puts on her eyes and brain.

Bio: Heather and his family grew up on the East Coast. Like all families they had their ups and downs, good times and hard times, but for the most part they were a typical family. Heather had always been studious and detail-oriented, good at absorbing and remembering information. Boring things like note taking didn't bother her, and eventually she took a job at the local court house as a stenographer. Things were going well.

Then, the community and Jepsen family were rocked by the disappearance of Laney, Heather's then 14 year old sister. Laney vanished without a trace. She wasn't the type to up and run away, but there were no clues whatsoever about her disappearance. Did she really run away, or was she kidnapped? Was she lost and still alive, or was she lying dead somewhere? Months passed and the answers to these questions never came.

The loss of Laney drove Heather and her parents into a depression that's lasted since then. Heather withdrew from her friends and family, spending all her extra money on hiring private investigators, bribing cops and criminals alike to help out, and offering rewards for any information about her sister. She was still searching when an otherworldly being approached her with a promise.
