His smile slipped to show her a sympathetic expression, "Unfortunately madam, I was not informed as to what you had done. I am merely a cog in the Academy's machine you see." With his essence ready to stop her should she try anything, he relaxed slightly, waiting for her response. She would likely be disappointed at his answer. "As to me, well, just following orders. I've nothing against you personally, but my job is to be taken seriously you see." As he spoke Metentis, the serpent actually began to cackle at her, thus entirely revealing its sentience. After a moment it hissed slightly, its glowing eyes still locked on hers. "We could jusssst kill her and be over withhh it," it hissed out, a clear sibilance apparent in its voice.
Smiling as his methods completed and his attack succeeded, Genmyou used his other chidori nagashi to finish attuning the barrier rods and once he had done so he simply substituted himself with one of the weapons he'd sent to the surface. He appeared 12 meters from Kabuto in the location that the transformed piece of equipment had been. "I thought you more observant," he stated. Simultaneously the other transformed weapons swapped with his charged barrier rods, which had transformed into specs of dirt, making the change visually undetectable.
As Kobuto was recovering Genmyou summoned Seigennashi no ei from its 'sheath' and into his left hand. He took a step forwards and used his pure anchor to summon the kunai back to himself, which he then substituted with the rods further from his person, positioning them in the air around them. They were floating and emitting a light yellow glow as lightning chakra sparked off of their forms.
He had linked the lightning chakra with his own and attuned it to the rods, thus allowing him to use the small aura of chakra around himself to effectively control the rods telekinetically without disrupting the barrier. The barrier remained a square shape and was about 10 feet tall, giving plenty of room for him to move within it. This freed up his remaining hand to utilize handseals while his left hand wielded his infamous blade. "So how shall we proceed?"
As the earth crumbled into a tunnel beneath him, Genmyou allowed himself and his barrier with him, to fall out of Kobuto's sight. Then he stuck the barrier rods into the wall, used two extras to afford him footholds, and sent his second chidori nagashi through the ground, utilizing its conductivity and earth's weakness to lightning, straight towards Kobuto. The action took barely three seconds.
He wasn't however done and he made his move by sending chakra through the ground and into several locations around the battlefield. He utilized his pure anchor seal, and ported transformed shuriken to those locations. There were eight shuriken spread out evenly from one another, each about 3 meters from the hole arranged in a circle. They were transformed into pebbles too small to be noticed as they "appeared". Really more like grains of dirt than anything else.
The chidori nagashi which he'd attuned his barrier rods to exuded lightning into the barrier, making cursory contact with Genmyou. He smiled beneath his mask. The barrier he had active within the tunnel was the same as the one he'd had before.
"My assistant is a man and yes, he is a cold hearted bitch," he said to himself with a chuckle.
"It is my last conscious breath which shall sunder your being, demon! Let history remember that. Let him know that were it not for you, he would know my fury!"

Lyrsaeyn Dryeir – Beacon of the Lost.

As told from the Journals of Orthun Raith:
“Born among the once petty folk of Evaeryn, the larger of two islands off the southern coast of Evaeryn, Lyrsaeyn's story is one of tragedy. Loved only by his poor urchin parents, the young child was kept secret from the townsfolk so that the family, though poor and miserly, might live a peaceful life. It was not to be so, for at the age of seven their secret was discovered and so was revealed to the Islanders the blindness of the child. First he was cast into the forests, made to survive in the wilds of the town.
"Lost and alone for days Lyrsaeyn wandered among the trees, yet no beast attacked him and even what plants could have harmed him, did not. So it was that a month later the young, frightened child emerged from the forest...but alas he was changed. His blind eyes could see and his awakened sight was frightening to the villagers, as his eyes shone a haunting light, full of an intensity which pierced the soul itself. So he was chained and brought to knee before the city's leader and the execution whom he controlled.
"Yet, when his form they sought to kill, the winds rose, the woods shrieked, and the earth trembled—sky shrouded in malicious clouds. Thunder and lightning descended upon the village and so, as the blade swung through the air, it was struck, the executioner felled, and the blade struck through the air, where it pierced the leader's heart.
"Then, as if nothing at all had transpired, the sky was clear and the marketplace of the city...calm. The folk of Evaeryn looked at one another, and then to the boy with terror and awe in their eyes and so...they allowed him stay in the village for five more years. Still, as nothing further occurred in this time, the Islanders grew restless, forgetting the results before, and so sent him into Evaeryn's forests once more, bidding him farewell and warning him never to return.
"So the boy wandered among the wilderness, now more aware of his circumstances...and the world around him. He came to feel comfortable among the forests of the land, but the island, with its vile memories, made him restless. So it was that he came to Evaeryn's coast, and as if waiting for him, was a fishing boat. Allowed on board, the boy was delivered to the mainland, South of Heartlands.
"His path taking him through towns and forests, Lyrsaeyn brought peace to wherever he went, as spirits were called to him...and away from those whom they tormented. With time they became a burden and so, hearing of the Wisemen of Orthus' Isle, the young man made way to the smaller of the southern islands: The Isle of Orthus.
"Twas here, in the forests of the temple islands that the Wisemen taught him the ways of the Invoker, showing him the path he was to tread. It is said that he stayed for two years, before the winds of fate called him away.
"There were no winds. No, only the words of a hooded stranger come in the dead of night. To him the stranger spoke these words, 'To the Heartlands go, scion of mind and spirit both. Your life, while a burden to you, is one of just purpose. For in the Heart of these lands there slumbers a beast, and only by your hand and that of two others, can it be slain. Without one the others fail. Do not fail.' The man, it is said, turned and began to walk away. If the young man replied history does not remember his words.
"Nonetheless, given purpose by the enigmatic stranger, Lyrsaeyn bid the Wisemen farewell, and set sail, then made way to the Heartlands on foot. However, granted greater power and understanding of the world, Lyrsaeyn became a saviour to the people—or so many would like to think.
"Often untold by storytellers and minstrels both, there are those few who tell the story of Lyr's wretched trek. For while much good was wrought in his wake, the world is a balance, and so—though I regret speak it—evil was wrought as well. Though most benefited from his passing, there were those unlucky few who drew the mage's ire, and to them and all who were near came depravity of a sort not seen since his passing.
"Villages left with not a conscious soul, minds torn from their bodies while others still are haunted to this day, the taint of rage and fury in the errant spirits of old. Still, perhaps the outcome was worth the cost.
"However, with the fateful meeting of Lyrsaeyn and Sarynia, the storm calmed and so the beginnings of the Triumvirate were made. Then as news of blood spilled on the soil of Evaeryn reached his ears Lyrsaeyn, pulled by fate, made his way to the island where the third of the Triumvirate came to know the other two.
“Retracing his steps, Lrysaeyn made his way back to the Island of Evaeryn, a place which had brought little but despair to his life. So it was that he caught a boat to its shores and upon arriving discovered the people of the island in a sorry state. Everyone of them, women and children included, had been slaughtered—they had been judged unworthy, some say.
Twas on that island that the Triumvirate united, though little is known as to exactly why. From there, the trio made their way northwest.
It was there, in the Heartlands, that the Triumvirate's Legend truly began." "When the Restless March was completed, the three Trials of Mind, Body, and Soul overcome, the time came for the Triumvirate of eld to set their sights upon the Elysian Plains and meet the destiny that the Prince of the Void had laid out for them. Few records manage to recount precisely what it was that was fought, referring to it only as a great evil, but the true name of the scourge of the realm that they faced was Lazarus, the Undying.
As little literature survived Lazarus' various onslaughts, and history is written in the glory-emboldened eyes of those who did manage to drive the abomination into slumber, the truth of what Lazarus was or could do is lost, even to we Fates. Lazarus possessed unnatural durability, to the point that it simply could not be killed by normal means or normal men, and only with great sacrifices was it pushed to the brink of dormancy that it hovered upon before it set to consume all things. We believe that Lazarus corrupted and twisted the natural cycle of life to its own benefit, drawing strength from the untimely demise of those around it to extend its own time in this world. Perhaps, initially, it was no more than a nuisance but the continued reaping of helpless souls eventually rendered it beyond death until the Triumvirate arrived. Even now we do not know if this explanation is true, as none of the Triumvirate survived the encounter (with the exception of Lyr, whose mind was broken and thus was of no use)."
When the Triumvirate completed their respective Trials, they each marched upon the resting grounds of the abomination Lazarus and sought to vanquish it for all of eternity. In order to weaken the creature, Dormeria raised a veritable army of the dead whose vitality and souls had long been spent to wear Lazarus down, sacrificing much of her own life force to do so. Lyr shattered Lazarus' mind, bringing his own to the very edge of madness, and grappled with the creature long enough for Sarynia to perform the ritual to bind its soul within a mortal vessel that it might be slain. Lyr was the first to sacrifice himself, utterly breaking his own mind to temporarily render Lazarus vulnerable to the psychic and spiritual onslaught of Sarynia. While Sarynia bound the creature's essence, Dormeria prepared the ritual to bind the demon within her body and then die, killing them both in the process.
Dormeria's Trial of Body had taken its toll, and continued reliance upon Ukenagasu had left her with too little of her own inherent life force to bind Lazarus within herself for long enough to kill it. With no alternative, Dormeria bound the Undying within Sarynia's body and shortly thereafter breathed her last breath, crumbling to ash as she did so. Though strong of body and soul, Sarynia's mind could only contend with Lazarus for as long as Lyr's power weakened it, and Sarynia forfeited her soul to destroy Lazarus' - with no soul, Sarynia and Lazarus both expired within moments.
As only the three witnessed the battle, the stories that are told are all the world has to go by, with different cultures each celebrating a particular member of the Triumvirate and lording them above all others - some venerate Sarynia as an all-benevolent martyr betrated by Dormeria, some laud Lyr as the hero who outsmarted an undying demon, and some idolise Dormeria as the very essence of power and sacrifice. The only thing these various legends have in common is that they speak of the total eradication of Lazarus - and naught has been heard of the demon since.” - Historian Clorissa Thossarian, First Fate of the Order of the Skyward Eye.

Standing at 5'9, slim form covered by cloak, hood, and the garments of a traveler, Lyrsaeyn has about him an air of mystery. His steps silent and his presence subtle, this mage is a man who keeps to himself. Often shaven despite his travels, Lyrsae does his best not to garner the attention of those around him, but despite his largely unassuming appearance, it is often that the lithe man finds others approaching him.
His form fairly athletic in musculature, features sharp and handsome, perhaps Lyr's most striking physical asset are his eyes. Shining from dark blue at the edges to a light cyan as they near their centers, Lyr's eyes have a subtle glow to them that, in the dim, clearly shine. Furthermore, should one catch the mage using his magic, this subtle glow shifts to a blinding ethereal fire. This is accompanied by the whispers, screams, and songs of any number of spirits as they whirl about him, bound to his being.
Lyrsaeyn's full traveling garb consists of many billowing layers, meant to insulate him from cold, but be loose enough to protect from heat. With the outer cloaks being largely waterproof from the oils of various plants and animals, Lyr's clothes serve him well in his travels.

V A E N Y R -- L Y S A E A, G A T E W A Y S T O M E R I D I A N A pair of rings, one crafted of the Heaven's shadow and the other of its light, Vaenyr and Lysaea were gifts from the God Orthus granted to Lyrsaeyn and Sarynia before their fateful battle against Lazarus, the Undying. While the rings appear to be polar opposites, the two are in truth twins in disguise. Possessing identical abilities, Vaenyr and Lysaea are capable of transmitting the boons of one upon another, thus transmitting certain protective properties between the wearers.
While the rings can be worn and utilized by anyone, they become innate when worn by those who were never meant to don their forms. When worn by the two they were created to unify their effects are as follow.
Lysaea, the ring which was worn by Lyrsaeyn, grants its wearer Sarynia's protection, thus shielding the mage greatly from psychic influences, which would otherwise pull on the soul and affect the mind. This primarily works upon negative or harmful influences meaning that Raelia, one of Lyrsaeyn's other Artifacts, would be unaffected by his wearing Lysaea. In fact, the two empower one another for reasons that only the two heroes know. The result is that Lyrsaeyn's ability to resist the influence of spirits bound to his person is heightened.
On the otherhand, Vaenyr, Sarynia's ring, grants its wearer heightened spiritual awareness, thus amplifying one's natural perception as well as allowing them to view emotions and impressions much as Lyrsaeyn does.
Last among the abilities of the two rings is their ability to allow their wearers an awareness of eachother's mental and emotional state. While this does not make them capable of reading one another's minds, it does make it easier for them to work together and for either to know whether their counterpart is alive and well. However, this awareness is not acute, meaning that it is more a vague impression if anything and with distance it becomes more vague. Thus, the closer Vaenyr is to Lysaea the more clear the awareness becomes.
While the rings become largely innate when worn by another, they do emit two frequencies that remain at the very edge of human hearing and extend outwards, channeling themselves through the spiritual energies throughout the realm. This allows them to be located by individuals with heightened hearing or magical awareness however, it also reveals just how the rings function as well. In essence, Vaenyr-Lysaea remain connected to one another by way of being part of the same whole, but power themselves via an exchange of energy between wearers. However, this exchange is minimal in nature meaning that the protective properties transmitted between individuals are weakened in some manner due to their being fueled by less energy. Still, these protections are weakened not by distance as they are transmitted directly between rings, rather than crossing the space that separates them.
R A E L I A, C H A R M O F T H E S I R E N While it is said that Lyr bound the soul of a great magus into the amulet, the truth of the matter is far different. In truth, the Charm of the Siren was given to him by Sarynia Bael as a gift to sooth his pain and sharpen his focus. This reveals the Artifact's ability to bring a form of peace, infusing them with a dangerously disarming calm as the voice of the being held within, like a siren, sings its wearer into paradise. At least, this would be its effect should another without the blessing of its owner wear it. Instead, when worn by those with the blessing of its owner the Charm of the Siren diffuses stress, soothes the soul, and increases the focus of the wearer. In Lyrsaeyn's case, the amulet also serves to amplify his focus almost twenty-fold, thus increasing his range and potency phenomenally. This is largely due to the resonance which takes place between Lyrsaeyn and the Amulet's soul. How the amulet came to be inhabited by this soul is a detail lost to time, but perhaps, with his Resurrection, the mystery can be unraveled. Perhaps.
A R L A Y R E, W E L L O F S O U L S An artifact of immense power, the Well of Souls is a longsword and sheath, the first more plain than the second. The longsword, which has been glimsped by many, but remembered by few due to its nature possesses a host of complex inscriptions upon its form written in an unknown tongue. The longer the blade is exposed, the more these runes shift and shimmer upon the blade's surface. In regards to its sheath, which the longsword should have never been drawn from, it is ornately gilded with materials resembling silver, gold, and obsidian. The last of these three constantly shifts its location and arrangement when the blade is sheathed. It is said that this material is the essence of the Merkstave made stone, but such things are impossible to confirm.
What is not difficult to realize however are the devastating consequences of drawing the Artifact. In fact, so great is the power of the drawn blade, Arlayre, that since the loss of its sheath during the slaying of Lazarus, The Undying, the weapon has been placed upon the Altar of Souls in the center of the temple on the Isle of Orthus where it remains to this day. Since its relocation to the Isle, none, but the priests of Orthus have been capable of coming within twenty miles of its shore without being entrapped by the tool's insidious influence. This influence is such that it draws those with spirit, be they dead or living, to its form—culling their reason and sense of self. As a result those affected by the cursed blade often die of exposure, dehydration, or starvation—whichever comes first—due to the mindless urge to become one with its form. For the living, death binds the soul to the object while the spirits of the dead are bound the moment they enter its sway.
As a result the Isle of Orthus has come to be known as the Bedlam of Souls and none who have so foolishly sailed the waters which surround it, let alone walked upon its shores, have left since the blade was relocated to it 30,000 years ago.
While the origins of Arlayre have never been confirmed, it is likely that, due to its immense power, it was not crafted by the hands of any mortal man, but was instead given as a gift to Lyr by Orthus himself.
It should be known that while the blade may appear powerful when unsheathed, it is useless without its sheath as it cannot even be carried into any populated location unless it has first been sheathed. Additionally, the Well of Souls is not without its disadvantages, the most notable of which is the fact that while the unsheathed blade may have nigh undisputable power, this power is essentially useless to someone even so skilled as Lyrsaeyn. In fact, it is only with the sheath that the power can be contained within the blade, allowing its wielder to contain the spiritual power which has gathered to the blade over the millenia that it has been unsheathed. Still, even with its sheath the power's influence is not entirely curbed for its wielder. In fact, the very nature of Arlayre practically assures that the blade may only be partially unsheathed unless its wielder wishes to sacrifice themselves in one final attempt at victory.
While more rumor than fact, it is said that the strength of one's consciousness, and thus mind and will, dictate how strongly the Well of Souls will influence any given person. So it is seen that the weaker the will or lower the power, the less ability to resist one possesses. It is said that the ability of the Priests of Orthus to resist the blade's infernal power is evidence of this. However, it is just as true that no one has seen a living member of the isle's priests since the blade made the temple its home.
Who knows what is fact or fiction now? V A L E ' S I N S I G H T Born into a world of indistinct colors and shapes, Lyrsaeyn was said to be almost blind to the physical world, and this holds true. Rather than view the material layer of Ansus like most mortal men, Lyrsaeyn was born with the ability to perceive both the spiritual energies around him as well as the realms of Heaven and Merkstave. This makes him abundantly aware of the subtle energies of magic, the emotions, and the mind in particular. However, while he can sense those with powerful magics or strong minds, Lyr cannot intrude into the minds of the living in any direct sense. Instead, the mage can pick up on the emotions projected between people, allowing him to tell how someone is feeling and gain impressions as to their basic intentions or mind state. Still, this is not to say that he can ordain the intricate details of one's mind, nor the reason for one's emotions any better than most men—though the ability does allow him to largely circumvent his inability to read body language or facial expressions due to the blurry nature of his physical sight.
While this ability is primarily tied to his vision, over the course of his life it progressed further, tying itself into all of his senses, allowing him to better discern energies through the use of taste, touch, smell, and even sound. This as such allows him to hear the voices of the dead or disembodied as well as feel the whispers of consciousness which remain woven into the very fabric of Ansus itself.
Perhaps least known of his perceptual abilities is related to his awareness of the Heavens and Merkstave respectively. Once his awareness of the former allowed him a unique connection to what became his patron god, Orthus, Prince of the Void. Unfortunately, with the death of the gods, the Heavens are largely empty now and so it is that the Merkstave writhes while its counterpart remain earily quiet. Nonetheless, this ability may serve some purpose in the conflicts to come, after all, the future is a strange and nebulous thing and one can never be too prepared.
I N V O C A T I O N A magic art which few in the lands of Ansus have ever taken to and even fewer have mastered, Invocation is the power to call upon and manipulate spirits or beings from either the Merkstave, or perhaps for the most favored of the gods, the Heavens themselves. For Lyrsaeyn, this allowed him, via his Mind aspect, to tap into the energies inherent to the spirit, namely the emotions and consciousness itself. By tapping into these forces Lyrsaeyn is capable of manipulating, purifying, and otherwise influencing the spirit and its energies—known commonly as thoughts, emotions, and lifeforce. A wielder of this magic is first and foremost capable of affecting change to the spirit by imposing their will and their emotion upon them.
In the case of the living, Lyrsaeyn is only capable of emitting emotional or thought-form suggestions, which can influence one's natural actions only if their own will and emotion does not overpower the suggestion—as it so often does. However, unlike the minds of living men, the consciousness of a spirit is often weaker as it fades away and is integrated with the fabrics of Ansus. Due to Lyr's unique perception he is even capable, unlike any after or before him, of drawing spiritual energy, which has been integrated with Ansus, out and moulding it into a physical force, which he may wield to his own devices. More often than not this energy is utilized to impart greater tangibility to the spirits which he so frequently used as his tool in the world.
It is said that with this power, Lyrsaeyn could sunder even the minds of immortal beasts, but storytellers do love their drama do they not?
B I N D I NG An advanced form of Invocation, Binding is an art, which Lyr is said to have created himself, thus being the first Bound Mage in history. In essence, an Invoker can call upon the energies at their disposal and weave them into the bonds which hold an errant spirit to the physical world via their life's attachments. Once this is done the Mage imposes their will upon the bond, which the spirit's attachments have crafted and shifts the focus of said bonds. For Lyr, the Beacon of the Lost, this ability was utilized to bind errant spirits to his own, giving him greater influence, and ultimately complete control over both their energies and consciousness as a whole.
This art comes with great boons, allowing a bound mage to utilize the spirit to do their bidding, act as envoy for them, and supply them with its mental and spiritual energies thus empowering them in the process. However, binding or utilizing the energies of another is not an act which comes without a price—a fact which Lyrsaeyn was acutely aware of. When consuming the psychic or spiritual energies of a spirit bound to oneself, the user becomes reliant on these energies over time in addition to their own psyche becoming weaker and weaker over time. Additionally, should a malignant spirit or force be bound to something or someone that force will feed on their consciousness regardless to whether or not they feed on its energies, thus causing them to gradually lose their sanity. This incidentally makes it more likely for a Bound Mage to impart in the energies of these spirits to keep themselves sane.
This, as such, can turn its wielder into a form of psychic vampire, feeding off of the spiritual energies of other entities to maintain their own. In Lyr's case the Charm of the Siren was utilized, increasing his ability to resist the pull of the spirits bound to his person in addition to placating their lust for spiritual energies greatly. This alongside his proximity to Sarynia, the Soul's Bastion kept him sane and in relatively good mental health till the fateful battle against Lazarus.
A U R A As a result of Lyrsaeyn's excessive use of Bound magic in his time, the man has become what one might call a spiritual Beacon. This is caused by a passive aura of psychic and spiritual energies, which flows from his form, created via his own energies mixing with those of Ansus, where they spread outwards. The resultant effect is an air which beckons people to come to him whether alive...or dead. The further away one is from him the weaker the effect, with few exceptions. The primary way in which this ability influences others is by causing an impulse to interact with Lyr, whether one knows who he is or not. However, this impulse is not specific and so the nature of that interaction is undefined. Furthermore, due to the sheer density of spiritual energy which became inherent to his being, Lyrsaeyn is a spiritual beacon, making him easily detectable by almost anyone with even a shred of magical sensitivity. While he can mask his exact location and suppress this energy greatly with the use of bound spirits, it is impossible for him to become wholly without presence. Perhaps this will remain a burden in this life as it was in the past...or maybe the world has changed.
Nonetheless, it is said that in life, it was this Aura which brought many a tragedy upon Lyrsaeyn. Though perhaps it brought him good fortune as well, since it is likely the very force which brought the Triumvirate together. Such things are hard to tell as in legend fact and fiction are blurred together making the truth quite the illusive thing indeed. Such is the nature of Myth.
R E N D I N G A dark power discovered only due to the mind enhancing effects of Binding Lyr was capable of achieving heights unheard of by any before or after him. By this it is meant that he discovered that with sufficiently vast quantities of spiritual energy one is capable of damaging the soul or spiritual energy of others. Considered his most devastating ability, Rending came to be known particularly well among select communities south of the Heartlands, who were exposed to Lyrsaeyn's power before he had gained hold sufficient enough to contain it.
It is this power in its strongest form that served to slay the seemingly immortal Lazarus. In its most powerful form, Rending is capable of shattering the very bonds of soul and mind and forcibly integrating them into the world or the mage themselves. This spell, known as Mind Rend, is however immensely taxing not only in the energy required, but in the fact that it draws not only from the spiritual energies gathered by the user. No, instead, Mind Rend sacrifices both four times the energy density of the soul the mage wishes to affect, and a portion of the user's consciousness. It is for this reason that the use of Mind Rend upon Lazarus sundered Lyrsaeyn's mind as well, rendering him practically bereft of any mind at all, the rest of which he lost in the years that followed.
Due to its immense power and the sacrifices which are intrinisic to its use, Mind Rend is an ability not to be utilized lightly. Furthermore, the greater the power and psychic resistance or resilience of an individual the more energy it requires to use Mind Rend upon them. Lyrsaeyn, though legend tells not of it, firmly abhors this spell, despite being its creator.
Watching the Tsuchikage closely and listening, the Shade watched as he threw the shuriken. There was little time to consider the man's words while he made his defense, summoning two barrier rods into each hand and flicking his wrist in either direction. They flew down on an angle, he crouched, and preformed the necessary handseals all in the space of three seconds. The resultant technique created a pyramid shaped barrier which covered a relatively small space, keeping the kage inside itself. He weaved several more handseals as he began to speak, "Rare is it that someone takes issue with me due to similarities. I find it is more often the differences. In that way this scenario surprises me." His gaze rose to meet the Tsuchikage's, "Sadly that is the only way you've surprised me so far," with that he'd applied the generic sealing method onto his barrier via use of the fuin kakari(seal liking) and modification seal techniques.
His only issue now was mobility. To solve it he released the first of two chidori nagashi whilst still within the barrier. He allowed it to take in the electrical energies of the technique and store them within the four metallic barrier rods. He then released the second chidori nagashi, but focused the tendrils of electricity towards the rods themselves. Altering the charge of his chakra as he did so as well as shifting the orientation of the rods, he turned the barrier into a box whilst rising to his feet. The new shape afforded him the room to do so.

History: --All information regarding Genmyou's origins going past his life as a young man have been expunged from all known records. As such, the following is all that remains recorded of Genmyou's origins--
...he faded back into the larger scope of the world and was at first a kind of mercenary nin. He travelled and exchanged knowledge and living expenses for any task he was assigned. As he did this he was able to acquire a rather sufficient sum of intel on various jutsu, clans, and rumors of the time. He continued to expand his knowledge and skill set until he struck gold. He heard a rumor about a clan based in Kumogakure, this was the first time he had heard of the so called Antare Clan. With a background such as his, it was hard for him to pass up and so he began to travel to cross the continent and reach the Antare clan's base of operations. At the time he did not know many, if any, of the secrets regarding the clan, but he did know they were allegedly the only rivals in fuinjutsu to the uzumaki clan. It took him a year or two of travel, due to many stops, missions, and such on the way but he eventually reached the country of lightning. Seeming rather suspicious due to his garb, as even at that time he possessed what shinobi see him in today, he was eventually spotted by one of the Antare clan's outposts and watched closely there after. As his renown grew, Genmyou eventually became known as 'The Shade of Clarity'. This title was blatantly ironic due to the unknown nature of his appearance and the difficulty that it was to track him and figure out his exact actions in combat. Regardless to this he began to be a nuisance when his missions began to conflict with nin from Kumogakure causing the shinobi assigned to come back empty handed or the like. Assassination attempts were made, but they could never track him down, and when they did they were met with clever non-fatal traps. Finally the aged raikage of the time requested the assistance of the Antare clan, the accepted, having been watching as a neutral part for some time.
They were easily able to corner 'The Shade of Clarity' but they too found themselves in a difficult situation. Even mid battle he was able to figure out who they were and who had sent them. They soon found themselves outclassed in a very unique fashion, and with words and defensive tactics alone the 3 Antare clan members found themselves in such a disadvantage that they were grateful when The Shade offered them an arrangement. An envoy sent back to the raikage and another to the elders of the Antare clan, Genmyou successfully got his message across. Though the raikage seemed rather threatened and more than a little worried about allowing this 'shade' free reign he did so with the advice of the Antare in mind. The Antare clan elders on the other hand were not as relenting and so instead of simply allowing him into their ranks, an unknown variable as he was, they commissioned him for a series of missions while they attempted to retrieve intel on the shade's origins. They drew a blank, finding only sparse information of his travels and various mercenary exploits, nothing of any solid consequence...Shade of Clarity indeed.
After several months of the grueling missions Genmyou began to grow ever more impatient and with perfect timing, as it was intentional the Antare allowed him entrance. In the years following it became known that Genmyou had been officially adopted into the country of lightning's social ranks and was around jounin rank. Years passed, he studied, trained, combatted, completed missions for Kumogakure, and then when he felt he had learned as much as was immediately useful to him from the Antare, he departed. Traveling to -data expunged- Genmyou disappeared for almost a decade. Strangely every two weeks a mission would end up completed to the fullest and so it was thought that Genmyou had completed these, which he had. When he finally emerged from his recluse, Genmyou returned a changed man, a better man, and a stronger shinobi. He felt no need to test himself against the lesser nin of the jounin rank and he proceeded straight to the death bed of the to-be late raikage. Genmyou looked the man straight in the eyes, and the raikage commanded the two be left alone.
No complaints were made, a mask was removed, a promise made, an identity remained hidden to all but one. The Raikage died only a year later and upon his death, his will was revealed, Genmyou - The Shade of Clarity, was to be named the second Raikage. Some of the village elders were disgruntled, but they were silenced by the will of the people and the guidance of the Antare clan. All was well, Genmyou became the kage of Kumogakure and has been as such for 10 years now. His age is unknown, his true appearance hidden, his identity null, and his skill renowned throughout. He is a man to fear, to trust, to avoid, to approach, he is all of these things, but above all else he is a efficient leader and an elusive enigma.
Personality: Genmyou is versatile in all activities he takes part in, this traits stands out. His versatility is mixed just as much with the air of intrigue that seems to surround him as a person. He is secretive, intelligent, serious, but not without humor. To him matters of the village, of battle, and anything remotely regarding his past are things to be given attention and a calm mindset above all others. In this way he is protective in his own way, seeming to have a kind of endearment to Kumogakure. Generally he tends to be fairly good-natured, and though he can sometimes be caught up the affairs of his village, he is never truly stressed. It has often been commented, and admired, that despite Genmyou's air of mystery and his rather plentiful responsibilities he never seems overwhelmed or burdened. In this way he is considered charismatic and sometimes even tends to use this trait to his advantage. This charisma also carries over to one of his rather well known mannerisms, corrections and wisdom. Essentially, Genmyou gets a kick out of messing with his adversary's mind while in battle without the use of genjutsu.
This reveals another trait of his for while he is not devious, he is exceptionally crafty in both a social environment and on the battlefield. He is loyal to those he makes his allies, but not to the point of blindness. He is the kind of man who will do what he must even if he knows others may not like it. When brought down to the bare essentials he is a survivalist, a former nomad, and a scholar. Genmyou has an avid love for knowledge and in his free time he finds it extremely rewarding and enjoyable to read, exchange knowledge, or even get into a philosophical discussion or two. In another light, Genmyou enjoys debate and conversation, but he seems to shy away from arguments. When put into a situation where a verbal exchange of negative theme is involved he tends to act as a mediator or he will simply remove himself from the situation until the participants are willing to discuss the issue(s) reasonably. This shows that Genmyou is indeed a very calm individual with an incredibly high tolerance for so called 'bullshit' as it were.
Base Weapons & Items: X explosive tags. X smoke bombs. X kunai X shuriken X wire X chakra reactive tags (blank). 10 Barrier rods.
Foot Note: His scrolls and tags react specifically to his chakra and the chakra effectively acts like ink.
Specialized Weapons & Items:
Name of Item: Chōkin kōgu(彫金工具'Engraving Tool')
Description: A tool designed by Genmyou and members of the Antare clan, this pen-like tool works by transmuting chakra into a sort of ink, which can be directly inscribed upon specialized sealing paper. However, what makes the Chōkin kōgu a truly unique tool is the fact that it imbues chakra into the seal as it is created. As such, the more skilled the fuinjutsu practitioner and the more complex the seal, the more charge the seal will have. This is not the only boon to its use though as the pen does not just imbue chakra into the sealing paper, but actually engraves empty space that chakra is compelled to fill. This essentially means that, left alone, any seal created with this tool will draw chakra from its environment to fuel itself. Additionally, due to the multitude of fuinjutsu used in its creation and the specialized ones applied by Genmyou himself, it renders the kage immune to the effects of the seals constructed in this manner unless exceptions are written into those very seals. This is due to the fact that the pen, and its ink are designed to react uniquely to Genmyou's chakra meaning that if stolen, the device will not work in the hands of another and neither will the seals.
Description: A special tome with the thickness of a single piece of paper, the Kinko is carried on Genmyou's person at all times. The tome is possible by way of space-time ninjutsu, effectively allowing it to have hundreds upon hundreds of pages without ever becoming larger or heavier as the pages are not stored within the book in a traditional fashion. This also means, that to access any given piece of information, an individual must have exceptional chakra control, and know the proper chakratic codes to input so as to find particular pages. While the book does have an index, it is encrypted in a code that very few understand. Genmyou teaches this code only to those he trusts most...and he is very picky about whom he trusts. This also means that burning the book, or any similar copies, in a person's possession will not actually destroy the rest of its pages, excluding the index.
The knowledge connected to these books is thought to be stored somewhere deep in the mountain upon which Kumogakure sits. Genmyou typically keeps the Kinko folded up on his person.
====================
Name of Item: Inshō-shi(印象紙'Impression paper').
Description: Paper specialized for applying seals, Inshō-shi is designed to be exceptionally good at absorbing chakra. This makes it the ideal medium for the Chōkin kōgu, but also means it can be a useful tool in...other ways. The paper, while not fireproof, is capable of withstanding about the same heat as a human body without setting on fire, and is treated so that liquids simply fall off of it rather than adhering or being absorbed by its surface.
====================
Name of Item: Chakra Conductive Gauntlets.
Description: Though really not all that difficult to craft, Genmyou wears streamlined gauntlets on both hands which effectively ease the process of the fuin furidashi slightly. The gauntlets do this by reacting to his chakra when he channels it to his hands and forming a small field of condensed aura around his hands in order to conduct his jutsu. This can also assist with some of his raiton techniques and are very useful. Due to being gauntlets these can also be used to claw, since the fingers are rather sharp, as well as to block some blade attacks. He cannot use these to catch blades due to the fact that only the outsides of the gauntlets are metal while the insides -meaning palm and finger bottoms- are made of a softer material which also lines the metals on the top of the gauntlets.
====================
Name of Weapon: Seigennashi no ei(制限なしの英'Blade of the Unrestricted').
Description: Often within its figurative sheath and hidden on his person, this blade is 4.5 feet long, weighing in at roughly 130 lbs to anyone attempting to wield it aside from Genmyou. Rather than the weapon being in a true sheath, it is sealed utilizing a modified generic seal, within the strap that would normally hold the weapon at his back. Regardless to this, Seigennashi no ei is a very unique weapon for it does not possess an affinity ability or some such foolishness. Instead, this weapon of unknown origin, is a blank slate for any kind of chakra that is channeled through it. This means that it can channel and carry any manner of jutsu within itself. This means that it seems to merely be an incredibly advanced chakra conductor. While this is true, the weapon is unique in that it can actually store techniques, which are channeled through it. However, it is limited to seven jutsu at any given time. Beyond this, the weapon, once attuned to its wielder, is rendered effectively weightless. Despite the efforts of many blade craftsman, chakra scholars, and fuinjutsu masters the cause of this effect remains out of reach and thus out of mind making it an enigmatic blade fit to its similarly mysterious wielder.
Name of Item: Gen'ei no konryuu(幻影の袞龍'Phantom's imperial robes').
Description: Worn in every waking moment of Genmyou's life, this clothing is his normal attire. Despite the use of the word normal this garb is nothing of the sort. It is fire retardant, heat repelling, waterproof, and is durable to ridiculous levels. Strangely, the cloth never seems to take damage, even if Genmyou does, this leads one to believe that damage is transfered through the cloth but never actually damages it. This is true and is the work of fuuinjutsu being weaved in patterns onto the inside and outside of the robes. Additionally, the Gen'ei no konryou are conductive allowing him to conduct his 'raiton' techniques or pure chakra through them. The last notable property of this garb is its properties of concealment. Namely the robe distorts his chakra to the senses of doujutsu and sensor nin. This effectively means that unless the sensor nin is incredibly adept and has prime focus, they will receive a headache and be smoothly redirected around his location. Possessors of doujutsu have a hard time looking upon him as well, but are otherwise unaffected. Sharinga and Rinnegan are unaffected, whereas the Byakugan is effectively useless against it.
Special Traits Genmyou is no normal individual and as such his chakra is incredibly unique. Not only is he incredibly difficult to sense even with doujutsu, his chakra's unique state tends to give sensory nin a headache and as such they tend to have a lot of trouble pinpointing his position. Additionally where his normal chakra openings would be, there are actually 3. His body seems capable of releasing chakra from many different places in comparison to a normal individual. Genmyou also appears to have a rather high chakra level in addition to being able to use shape manipulation much quicker than most. It should be noted that Genmyou is immune to his own lightning affinity (he can channel it through his body without being harmed) and that lightning jutsu of C rank or below will not cause him harm. Last of all he appears to be especially durable and is very quick on his feet. It should be taken into mind that Genmyou's specialties are firstly in fuinjutsu, secondly in kenjutsu(with a proficiency in defensive taijutsu), and thirdly in ninjutsu.
Name of Kekkei Genkai: Tukkumu shijun(突っ組む至純'To strive for Absolute purity'). Fuen Ametsuchi(敷衍 天地'Amplification of Heaven and Earth') Clan: Unknown. Zoukasari. Description: Appearing to modify any natural affinities that the inheritor possesses, but this is not it's sole capability. This kekkei genkai, known as Tukkumu shijun, appears to allow Genmyou advanced control over essentially all of his chakra's aspects. This has apparently altered his natural affinity as well as allowing him, due to extended research and training, to utilize 'pure' chakra. Due to his skill in fuuinjutsu he is capable of effectively programming this purified energy form with purpose utilizing seals and the like. His control over his chakra system is so great that he can willingly pure, fluctuate, speed up, or slow down the flow of chakra within his body to his will. ========================================= Techniques:
Fire Sealing Method: Though the fuuinjutsu is specified to fire he has modified this technique, allowing it to seal other elemental jutsu as long as they are below S rank. Each respective seal can only store one jutsu at a time.
Chidori Nagashi(Chidori current): Rather than utilizing chidori he simply channels lightning chakra into his aura and focuses it into flowing currents of lightning that have the same effect.
Name of Technique: Yasashī shidō(優しい指導'Gentle Guidance'). Type of Jutsu: Shape-manipulation ninjutsu. Rank: D-A. Range: N/A. Nature Type: Variable. Handseals: 3. Description: This technique simply allows the user to gently guide their respective affinities by simply manipulating the chakra that makes them up.
Weakness: Seal their ability to manipulate chakra and the user becomes incapable of using this technique.
====================
Name of Technique: Agarisagari(上がり下がり'Fluctuation'). Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu. Rank: B Range: Contact. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 3. Description: By studying and modifying the Gogyo Fuin(Five Elements Seal), Genmyou has developed a technique that utilizes the concept of disrupting other seals and by extension chakra. Unlike the Gogyo Fuin, this technique disrupts chakra even if there are no other seals present on the victim. When the Agarisagaro is placed on an individual it will impede the movement of chakra by disrupting the chakra path ways and causing them to fluctuate randomly. This makes it twice as difficult to utilize ninjutsu or to generally focus and control chakra.
Weakness: If the seal is damaged it will be rendered useless. Additionally it can be removed by the Gogyo Kaiin. The seal can be disrupted by firing chakra into the seal from the outside or focusing it in the seal till it breaks. Breaking this seal by focusing chakra and overloading it is considerably difficult and will waste chakra due to the fact that the fluctuations make it hard to focus and direct chakra.
====================
Name of Technique: Fuin no kumokui(吹いんの雲杭'Seal of the Spider Bite'). Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu. Rank: A. Range: Contact. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 0. Description: By utilizing his chakra Genmyou is capable of placing a seal on a tag or an opponent directly that effectively acts like a crack in the victim's chakra system. This causes chakra to slowly leak from the victim's body.
Weakness: Damaging the seal by burning it or cutting it will cease the effects of the jutsu.
====================
Name of Technique:Junikari Kuchiyose(樹に借り口寄せ'Pure Anchor Summoning'). Type of Jutsu: Space-time Fuininjutsu. Rank: C-B. Range: N/A. Nature Type:Pure chakra. Handseals: 3. Description: By studying the Kuchiyose no jutsu and imlementing the use of his pure chakra with it, he is effectively able to program his pure chakra and use 3 handseals in order to summon a specified object -and only an object- to a designated location. The location is designated by a localization of his pure chakra. This technique takes such a small amount of chakra that it is completely negligible.
Weakness: This technique can only summon to where the specified chakra is located. Additionally, if the chakra is used for a long range summoning the jutsu will become increasingly more taxing with the increase in distance. This jutsu is also unable to summon anything over the size of a person in mass and weight.
====================
Name of Technique: Fuin furidashi(吹いん振り出し'Seal infusion'). Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu. Rank: D-S. Range: Physical or chakratic contact. Nature Type:Pure chakra. Handseals: 0. Description: Essentially Genmyou has such a mastery of his purified chakra that as long as something is either within his aura (such as his blank tags or scrolls) he is capable of inscribing seals on them. If he is touching the object it takes less time than if it was in his aura, specifically direct contact is 2x as effective as indirect(aural).
If mentioned in a seal, these will be different, otherwise these apply.
D Rank: Aural contact takes 2 seconds (afterwards the seal is useable) and direct has no charge. C Rank: Aural contact takes 4 seconds and direct takes 2 seconds. B Rank: Aural contact takes 8 seconds and direct takes 4 seconds. A Rank: Aural contact takes 12 seconds and direct contact takes 6 seconds. S Rank: Aural contact takes 16 seconds and direct contact takes 8 seconds.
Weakness: Without contact this technique is useless, additionally the more complex the fuinjutsu (higher ranked) the longer it takes for this to work.
====================
Name of Technique: Fuinjutsu: Chousei(フイン術: 調整'Sealing Technique: Modification'). Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu. Rank: D. Range: N/A. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 3. Description: This technique is a small set of interlaid lines and circles that can be applied to any of his fuinjutsu. Effectively, this allows him to activate or deactivated a fuinjutsu's effect by preforming 3 hand seals. This is always utilized in regards to his fire sealing method techniques and has the effect of allowing him to release the jutsu from the scroll or otherwise object.
Weakness: It has no effect by itself and has normal seal weaknesses.
====================
Name of Technique: Fuin kakari(吹いんかかり'Seal linking'). Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu. Rank: D-C. Range: N/A. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 0. Description: This is a very simple technique which allows the individual to link seals. This is typically used when regarding summoning seals and allows an object to be transfered from one seal to another through this technique.
Weakness: It has no effect by itself and has normal seal weaknesses.
====================
Name of Technique:Tsuuro shougeichiten(通路商芸地点'Pathway blocking point'). Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu. Rank: B. Range: Contact. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 4. Description: An interesting technique, Tsuuro shougeichiten effectively acts much like a strike from the gentle fist style in that once applied it blocks chakra. Unlike the Lion closing roar or similar techniques however, this seal instead blocks chakra in such a way that the path is effected much like the blood stream is by a blood clot. This effectively means that overtime Tsuuro shougeichiten causes a blockage in the chakra stream which can create a build up in pressure. This varies in how long, but the more chakra that is being used/the faster the flow of chakra, the quicker this will occur. If the seal is not removed this blockage can effectively rupture a chakra pathway and cause chakra to rampantly flow into areas of the body where it should not be, this is incredibly painful. Additionally, if the seal is removed -of course depending on how early after it is applied- the chakra blocked will suddenly rush to move and fill the space. If the seal was placed near a chakra exit, this can cause chakra to randomly eject from the victim's body and thus waste their chakra.
Weakness: The seal will break after a certain amount of chakra has built up as the pressure acts about the same as overwhelming the seal with chakra. If the seal is damaged or removed it's effects are nullified. This seal requires some of the user's chakra to be stored within the seal in addition to the effort needed to create the seal.
====================
Name of Technique: Ryuutsuuro Fuin(流通路吹いん'Dragon-pathway seal'). Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu. Rank: A. Range: Contact. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 5. Description: By executing the 5 hand seals, forming the seal on something or with his chakra and applying it the user effectively boosts the victim's abilities. The victim's chakra system speeds up and is improved in it's ability to release chakra thus allowing their body to be faster and stronger. This also means ninjutsu seem to unexpectedly come out stronger than normal, the effected part will usually not notice the difference due to adrenaline. After the three minute mark they'll begin to feel tired and within the next 2 minutes fatigue will set in.
Weakness: This technique can only be overloaded with chakra if the user can focus their chakra to the seal rather than letting it flow. Additionally the seal can be removed or damaged to cease it's effects, though any chakra used before hand will still have caused some portion of the desired effect. This jutsu takes around 1 minute to fully activate and thus seems more gradual. A-S ranked individuals can forcibly slow their chakra system and skilled B rank individuals may be able to do so as well.
====================
Name of Technique: Denkou Ooi(でんこう多い'Lightning Mantle'). Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu. Rank: A. Range: N/A. Nature Type: Lightning Handseals: 8. Description: Through studying lightning release armor and then utilizing his ability to conduct lightning through his body with no ill effects, Genmyou is capable of making a mantle of lightning around his body and within. This mantle allows him to move at high speed, though nowhere near as fast as lightning release armor, it takes a rather skill individual to track his movements without the aid of a doujutsu. This jutsu essentially amplifies his speed and strength, the strength aspect is much weaker than the speed. If an individual comes into contact with the mantle they will find themselves damaged, be it through burns or shocks.
Weakness: This jutsu, though not all that chakra taxing, makes it difficult to utilize other jutsu while it is active. Prepared jutsu do not count, additionally Denkou Ooi only lasts for a maximum of three minutes and has a cooldown time ranging from 30 seconds to 1 minute.
====================
Name of Technique: Inadzuka(稲塚'Flash of Lightning'). Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu. Rank: E-A. Range: N/A. Nature Type: Lightning. Handseals: 3. Description: Inadzuka is a raiton technique that by itself can either be used much like a chidori, or can be fired off in a bolt of lightning. This rank, depending on the charge time, will be stronger or weaker and can thus vary in it's damage.
E Rank: With no charge time at all, this rank of Inadzuka can be spammed at will, but does no damage. It causes a slight prickle of electricity if it hits, but otherwise only forms static in the air.
D Rank: This rank has a 5 second charge time and no cool down. It causes a light shock that would cause the body to hesitate and bristle slightly. This rank also causes static to gather towards it, hinting that it may be slightly magnetic.
C Rank: This rank has a 10 second charge time and no cool down time. It causes a stun effect if it hits and it gathers enough static to form a D rank lightning jutsu. The static can be felt slightly, but otherwise has no effect at all.
B Rank: This rank has a 20 second charge time and a 10 second cool down time. A stun effect lasting 10 seconds is caused in addition to burn damage, possible piercing, and normal lightning damage. Additionally the static gathered is equal to the dispersed form of the C rank technique and is now obviously felt, it still has no effect.
A Rank: Getting hit by this rank, which is the highest form of this technique, causes incredibly painful damage and would make a chuunin likely pass out and cause a jounin a rather dangerous amount of damage. If it hits it becomes painful to move afterwards. This rank has a 30 second charge time and a 20 second cool down time, additionally the static gathered is equal to the dispersed B rank technique.
Weakness: The charge times, cool down, and relative weakness of the technique in general.
====================
Name of Technique: Kawa no Shijun(革の至純'Streams of absolute purity '). Type of Jutsu: Kekkai Shape-manipulation ninjutsu. Rank: C-B. Range: 50 yard(250 foot) radius. Nature Type:Pure chakra. Handseals: 2. Description: This technique allows Genmyou to exude his 'pure' chakra and then control it to form streams of energy that act much like water. These 'streams' of chakra are incredibly conductive of any kind of jutsu whether they are his or not, and he is capable of conducting or utilizing other jutsu through this.
Weakness: This technique can easily amplify ANYONE's jutsu that passes through it.
====================
Name of Technique: Gateway of the Ouroboros. Type of Jutsu: Barrier ninjutsu. Rank: B Range: N/A. Nature Type:Pure chakra. Handseals: 6. Description: By utilizing his barrier rods, Genmyou is capable of using this technique to set up a barrier of varying size and shape. Typically the barriers will be in the rough shape of a box/cube, but they can vary in shape. These barriers work by connecting barrier rods with a flat plane of chakra. This process means that if an individual is caught between two barrier rods while they are forming a barrier they could very will be cut in half or the like. These barriers are incredibly effective against chakrabased attacks. Lightning affinity jutsu below B rank will conduct into the 'pure' chakra and be channeled throughout the barrier. All other affinities can have their desired effect.
Weakness: Powerful taijutsu techniques or piercing attacks can easily cut, break, or pass through the barrier
====================
Name of Technique: Douji kaido(同時開度'Synchronous divergence'). Type of Jutsu: FuiNinjutsu. Rank: S. Range: Direct or indirect contact. Nature Type:Pure chakra. Handseals: 16. Description: Douji kaido, a technique created some years after Genmyou's study with the Antare clan, it is a technique to be feared by all those who posses an advanced affinity. The jutsu is simple, it is a seal, that after being conducted through his chakra using Fuin furidashi, is capable of essentially tearing merged affinities apart. This technique works through the seal quickly infecting the jutsu with Genmyou's 'pure' chakra, latching onto the intermingled affinities, and then causing a divergence which splits the jutsu in half, -altering it's trajectory- and destroys the synchronicity of the affinities by doing so.
Weakness: Despite the explanation of Fuin Furidashi, this technique takes 10 seconds to charge if done so directly and 20 seconds if activated via his aura.
====================
Name of Technique: Ijū no tsūshin(移住の通信'Signals of Transmigration'). Type of Jutsu: Supplementary ninjutsu/Forbidden Technique(?). Rank: C-S. Range: 100 mile radius or within magnetic field. Nature Type: Denjiton and/or Lightning. Handseals: Variable. Description: Potentially a forbidden technique when utilized at its strongest, Ijū no tsūshin is a technique devised by the Kanagata clan, but released to the public. It is one of few that is actually useable by anyone, rather than just by one of the two most masterful lightning clans. A largely variable technique in regards to application, Ijū no tsūshin is executed utilizing handseals only when the user's skill is exceptionally low. The amount of handseals varies depending on user skill, complexity of the technique's application, and distance. Cutting to the point, Ijū no tsūshin allows the user to transmit subtle electrical signals via chakra. One of the primary uses of Ijū no tsūshin is in the vein of nigh telepathic communication by sending electrical signals from one individual to the other. This application is B rank at least as it requires incredible mental focus and chakra control so as not to accidentally use too much electricity and thus damage the brain. While most users of Ijū no tsūshin are only capable of communicating rudimentary orders over only twenty or so meters, those capable of utilizing the technique at A rank are able to transmit signals over 10s of miles of distance. The further away the individual, the less complex the signals must be with few exceptions.
The last, and forbidden, use of this technique is effectively mind control, which is considered a technique only in the grasp of a select few, most of which are members of the Kanagata clan. This mind control is utilized via the user transmitting a set of continuous electrical signals of extreme complexity, thus allowing them to effectively fire nerves strategically, and even highjack an individual's brain and use it to further transmit signals once highjacked. This application is considered S rank and is typically used only as an interrogation technique, having been forbidden in all other scenarios.
Weakness: While not limited in its range or the complexity of the “commands,” or the detail of its communicative abilities, and certainly not possessing a high chakra cost barring its S rank use, Ijū no tsūshin is not an easy technique to maintain. While its chakra cost is not great, every use takes a sliver, and continuous use, even for most masters, threatens to cause the user to become less and less aware of the amount of chakra going into the process. Additionally, due to the sheer complexity of translating “words,” and concepts directly to the brain of another individual via electrical signals, even for the sake of mere communication, this technique takes a level of focus for all, but the most masterful users that makes it largely useless in combat as it would only allow most individuals to give very simple commands, if that. Lastly, when using the S rank form of this technique, a given user is typically incapable of manipulating more than one individual at a time and almost always must remain entirely immobile while doing so. When controlling another person their own senses and awareness of their surroundings are lowered considerably making them more vulnerable to both genjutsu and surprise attacks.
It should be noted that in addition to the aforementioned weaknesses, this technique can be disrupted in several other notable ways as it only works properly when conducting through air. As such, the signals carried by the electricity will be distorted too greatly to be used if they must travel through three meters of dense material or any liquid. Should an individual be cloaked in lightning chakra or have it running through their body the technique will be unable to take over their body, or will be drowned out by the stronger electrical currents. Lastly, individuals with exceptional chakra control can treat even the S ranked technique much like a genjutsu and fluctuate their chakra continuously to disrupt the jutsu's control long enough to reassert their own.
====================
Name of Technique:Idou no Himotsuki(移動の紐付'Removal of Restriction'). Type of Jutsu: FuiNinjutsu. Rank: B. Range: 6 meter radius. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 5. Description: Utilizing his blade, Genmyou channels a fuinjutsu through it and/or stores one within and utilizes this later. Once prepared with hand seals, Genmyou will stab his blade into the ground and call out this technique's name. Once done the seal will appear inscribed around where the blade's location of piercing/contact. He will quickly say the name of the seal and it will expand outwards covering a space with a 6 meter diameter with the blade at it's epicenter. Anyone who comes into contact with the sealing area will be affected by whichever fuinjutsu has been placed therein. The seal for this technique appears as the normal seal (seen in the link) overlaid with whatever seal he is using.
Weakness: This technique can only be held as long as his blade remains in the ground. Once one or more individuals enter the area of sealing it begins to drain Genmyou's chakra to fuel whichever fuinjutsu are being utilized. This technique can only remain active for up to 4 minutes, this can vary in relation to which fuinjutsu are being utilized through it.
====================
Name of Technique:Chiten ijū no Jutsu(地点移住の術'Space Transmigration Technique'). Type of Jutsu: Space-time Fuinjutsu. Rank: S. Range: Contact. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 6. Description: A rather simple fuinjutsu as Space-time techniques go, Chiten Ijū no Jutsu works by linking two spots, and only two spots to one another spatially via a sort matter swap. Essentially, one seal, upon contact with the user after being placed on a surface and activated via 6 hand seals, will scan all the information, energy, and matter of the individual, and then alter its locational information by swapping it with an equivalent amount of space. Upon appearing at the location of the second seal, the user must step off of the symbol within the space of 2 seconds or they will be returned immediately to their prior location as the space switches back. This also means that the seal typically works one way unless activated from one end, the space swapped, then a person steps onto it, but this requires reliable instantaneous communication between the two areas.
Weakness: Technically a one way jutsu. It is not very useful in combat either unless one prepares the battlefield prior and allows each seal to charge. Additionally, these seals charge solely with natural energy as otherwise they would require too much chakra to function regularly.
====================
Name of Technique:Kōshin kankei(交信関係'Communication link'). Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu. Rank: A. Range: Contact. Nature Type: N/A. Handseals: 12/1. Description: To apply this seal to something or someone, the user preforms 12 handseals and moulds inscribes the necessary sealing formula onto whatever they wish to create the seal upon. Once inscribed, this seal, via contact if it is on a surface, or via a single handseal if on a person, allows anyone attached to the network to communicate telepathically. In actuality, Kōshin kankei works by one person speaking, and the sound of their words being transmitted, via chakra, through space directly to any corresponding seals, thus manifesting as sound information to the ears. As such an individual can whisper, but the sound will flawlessly reach anyone connected to it due to the seal translating it into audible sound information and sending it directly to the ear.
Additionally, it should be noted that Kōshin kankei can be utilized to transmit sounds over an area as well as to a specific individual. The seal is typically written with a small difference per individual allowing different people to be contacted via small variations in chakra, or sometimes, simply by stating their name. This is the equivalent of speaking over different frequencies and as such transmitting messages to multiple people is the equivalent of aligning everyone's frequencies so that everyone hears the same things.
Weakness: Requires a small amount of chakra to be utilized. The seal must not be damaged for it to remain functional. Requires preperation and is generally not used for combot purposes. Advanced uses of the technique require exceptional chakra control.
