Personal Information

Combat Information

Starting location will depend on a given group or player. However, for now I'm gonna say we're starting in a large capital city on the continent of Vostira. The city is called Calivast.

The three main starting areas right now are all capital cities. There is one on each continent.

The continents are called Nymia, Koir, and Vostira.

Their biggest cities are Vaemia, Olias, and Calivast respectively.

Each city is a capital to one of the great nations/coalitions/forces on their respective continent, but they are by no means the only capital cities.

Continents

Nymia

Vaemia

Often called the Fortress in the clouds or the Airborne Citadel, Vaemia is the largest capital city on Nymia and it, quite literally, reigns from on high, looking down upon the world from just beneath the peak of the Crooked Mountain. Vaemia, unlike your common city, is located hanging in the air, supported by a mixture of magical and technological means--though it favors the latter. It is a technological marvel, considered one of the world's great wonders. The city, while possible to reach via airship or flying mount, is otherwise inaccessible, often locking the poor or disadvantaged upon the ground ever to stare in wonder at the glittering construct.

While looked up to literally and figuratively by those who dwell upon the earth as a shining beacon of progress, the city is in fact a dangerous place plagued by the worst sorts of criminals. Murderers, dangerous technopaths, and prolific hackers abound, creating an underground that one could only describe as unnaturally healthy. While magic does exist within its bounds, its citizens often look down on those of a magical persuasion in favor of their tools and trinkets. As such there is something of a harsh rivalry between two factions.

The Technocytes and Magisters rule each their own half of the city and while their rivalry is a serious one, they both know that should either forsake their duties the city would truly fall into chaos--something neither side can allow despite the enmity between them. While trade is important to Vaemia as a city it is more a place of manufacturing than it is of trade.

That is, unless you consider its blackmarket....

Koir

Olias

A port city in an optimal location for international trade, Olias is a place of duplicity. While by day it appears lively and rife with activity, its nature changes drastically as night falls. While Olias may not possess a blackmarket like Vaemia it is nonetheless a place of disappearance and mystery where the veil is thick and the line between opposites thin. Its people are wary of strangers, though most put on a front during the day, inviting tourists and foreigners alike.

Nonetheless, of the three biggest capitals Olias is surely the most mysterious, possessing monuments of old gods, a largely unexplored system of catacombs that go deeper than most might think and a history lost to time. It is the oldest city in Koir and even its founder has been lost to time. Why it is even called Olias, or what the name might mean, is similarly lost. This is of course not at all assisted by the fact that most advanced technology ceases to work within Olias' bounds, the reason for which is yet to be uncovered. On the other hand, magic is far more potent, though this too has its disadvantages as what may have before lit a candle, might set fire to a house.

It is a power that one must learn to control...should they survive long enough to do so, they will be quite lucky. Though should they go looking in Olias, they may not find that their luck holds as those who seek, are often found and if they are not...then what they find is just as likely to be their downfall.

As such, Olias has long been known as the City of the Lost to those who know its true nature. To others it appears just another port city, though perhaps a large one. Regardless, with exotic wares arriving every day and people disappearing almost every night, who knows what one might find in the Lost City.

Vostira

Calivast

A city nestled in the mainland of Vostira, Calivast is the proud capital of Isira, a bustling nation brimming with culture and trade. A unity of states more than a single government is the defining point of Isira as well as the trade and small conflicts between each of its regions. Calivast is very much the central hub of this trade as everything that moves through Vostira must at some point pass through it. With sprawling plains laid about its form, its center 'pon a hill, and surroundings crisscrossed by canals, the city is a constant buzz of activity regardless of the season.

From far and wide traders, travelers, and troublemakers come to find their way in the world be it through honest ends or not. While the ruling party in Calivast is in fact human, the country to which it is capital is very much a melting pot of races, humanoid and otherwise. All kinds are considered equal within the city's bounds even if such is often not the place throughout the rest of Isira.

While not immediately apparent, Calivast is very much a well-to-do city as while on the surface its architecture is wizened and old, beneath its surface brims the technology of the new age. Its river is divied into waterways and artificial sailing canals; its buildings are reinforced with steel and repaired by nanites; and here and there one may find that its people sport not so mundane items.

Truly it is not a place to take things at face value. In fact, doing so is rather ill advised. Why this is however, is a thing one discovers for themselves.

The rest of this thread shall be dedicated to the documentation of A Patchwork World's lore.
A Patchwork World

Introduction

A Patchwork World is a RP in which the players are openly invited to assist in the creation of the world at large to varying degrees. One may choose either to simply create a character to live in this world and develop its story, or one may choose to create the world around the players. If one chooses to, they may do both. While there will be a process for the creation of lore, it will not be detailed here, but instead in the Lore thread.

The overall system, which will be split between this post and the first post of the Lore thread, will henceforth be known as LATS. While the Lore section of LATS is not necessary for normal play in Patchwork, the Player Accountability and Setting systems are of particular importance. Additionally, the Tier system is important, but more for reference than anything else.

If you've gotten to this point, then welcome and may your stay be a long one!
Premise

In the world of Bayera, 'pon the great continent of Koir, lies the ancient Olias, the City of the Lost. A place of duplicity, by day the city appears lively and rife with activity--its inhabitants welcoming, if somewhat wary of strangers. However, as night falls, people disappear and mystery shrouds even the most mundane of the city's Inhabitants.

For you, drawn to Olias, it is here where things begin. It is here where you might find what you seek, here in the place where things go to disappear.

A Patchwork World

Introduction

A world which is to be brought into being by the great minds of many, Patchwork is a RP project wherein a group sets out to make a world. However, rather than craft a world and place it into the fold, the intent is instead to allow a space for this creation whilst also experiencing this fledgling verse as it manifests. As such certain guidelines must be established, lest it be chaos which results from collaboration, rather than a harmonic world, though surely not one bereft of conflict in its myriad forms.

This is to be a roleplay wherein a world is brought to bear by the inhabitants who dwell within it, whomever they may be. Its genres will be listed below, as well as some core themes as they are considered and finalized.

Central to this RP's mechanics will be a series of systems namely the Lore, Tier, Setting, and Accountability systems--The LATT System, for short.

join, feel free to express interest here in the OOC, though you will have to go through the Accountability system before joining in on the fun.

Regardless, welcome! Let your stay be a long one.

Thematics

Science Fiction
Modern Fantasy
high Fantasy
Dark Fantasy

The above genres are likely to be central to Patchwork, though it is hard to say what other sorts of things will find their place in this fledgling world as it grows from its infancy as an idea to adulthood as a fully realized verse. Who knows what might happen.
LATS

As mentioned earlier, LATS is a series of systems which will be utilized as guidelines for various elements of the RP. Specifically LATS will be utilized to organize (L)ore, player (A)ccountability, power (T)ier, and (S)etting.

These will be utilized to organize and facilitate character and lore creation, as well as organize Power Levels/combat, and the location/timeline of characters and areas.

They are expanded on in the OOC.

Ilitasaiuni Netarin Vekaisirivirlaann

Had a thought @Dark Jack and @Shienvien, how do/would familiars work in the Prophecy, if at all? Mostly because it suddenly occurred to me that Ilitas might actually have one, perhaps in the form of some sort of hawk/eagle (just a bird of prey really).

Also yes, I've not stopped progress on her haha. Though I did get caught up in RL...so there's not been much of anything accomplished since I got those first questions answered. Nonetheless, I'm actually coding a CS for her at the moment in the interest of giving myself some structure to work with.

Also really struggling with her appearance as well, there are unfortunately not actual pictures of Deigan lol. If I had more money I'd actually commission something ^^;
