Current Attn teeny boppers: You realize adbots aren't ppl, yes? They randomly generate login info, then execute pre-programmed posts. Your rage-spam goes unheard by the machine. And is equally annoying.

If you're going by UK conventions of knighthood/nobility, yes. It also would be pronounced like the "dam" in "madame," rather than like a Dick Tracy "daym."

I'm interested in this, but have a question about the character I'd like to create. He was abandoned in the wild and grew up fighting to survive. There was one particular monster whose shadow he stuck to, feeding on its scraps until he could hunt for himself, and from this monster he developed a fighting style of his own. The other players could discover him while on a Hunt and bring him back so he can become a Hunter, but then he would develop a new weapon for himself. The basic idea of this weapon is that it is impact based, like the hammer, but its damage and movement style is more similar to the Dual Blades. They're Gauntlets, and they'd basically be oversized armored gloves, brass knuckles, claws, things like that. If it were in-game, the player would use boxing/martial arts style footwork and punches to attack while building up a meter similar to the Dual Blades and Longsword. When the meter reaches max, they'd hold a button (I think it's usually the R shoulder button that activates the longsword/DB meter) and input a button combination. While holding the meter button they'd stay in place, and after three button presses, if the combo was right they'd do a super attack, which uses up all the meter but does higher damage and inflicts a high level of exhaustion (like certain kinds of pellets/arrows) on the monster. Would this be okay?
Oh, I'm familiar with Seven Deadly Sins, though with the manga more than the anime. Both of those ideas sound interesting, though I feel like you might be able to combine them, since both are mission based and involve a group doing specific jobs for the public good, although I don't know if you had anything exclusive planned for their plots. If they were combined into an idea along the lines of "an order of knights that not only take on quests from the kingdom, but even from the common people they've sworn to protect," it also seems like it would be a knightly version of the wizard guilds in Fairy Tail, which might entice some people.
You would probably have more success if you elaborated on a few of them right out of the gate, instead of asking for input before anyone even knows what you've got planned. I'm in a fantasy kind of mood, though, what have you got?
So, anyone read the scans of the latest FT chapter? Tartarus arc has shaped up to be pretty good imo, at least as far as the fights go.
Darren explained the limitation of his magic, and Rutger tapped his chin thoughtfully. The thick undergrowth of the forest, and the dense foliage of the trees, did mean that Darren's vibrations would be bouncing off of everything and overlapping until they were so thick it'd probably be impossible to get any specific information out of it. Fortunately, Artemis had a solution. He used one of the spells he had recorded in his book to sent out floating motes of dust, so small and floating so gently as to be nearly imperceptible if one wasn't looking for them.

"That'll do, I think. Thanks, Artemis." the fire mage said. Looking back at Darren, Rutger had another idea. "Darren, why don't you try sending periodic vibrations through the air, straight up above us, as we move on? Artemis's Earth Magic will cover the ground, but there could be an enemy flying up above, or floating observation Lacrima or something like that. In the open sky your vibrations would be clearer and let us know before we enter their line of sight."

Turning back to Mombaki, Rutger motioned out towards the forest. "Okay, kiddo, you're up. See if you can track these guys down." He held out the map to the wild magician. "Use this, if it helps. We should be right about here. Try not to scout too far ahead, or you'll get out of the radius of Artemis's spell." He tapped a finger against the paper.

As the small group began moving through the wood, Rutger held up one hand, palm open. No flame appeared, but he could feel the warmth of his magic power tingling through his veins, gathering just below the surface of his skin. If anything got past his allies, he would be ready to hit it full force. He kept his eyes open, glancing around here and there as Mombaki led them through the shadows of the trees.

"By the way, Artemis," he whispered, his curiosity overcoming desire for stealth, "Does your book have any interesting fire spells you could teach me?"
"Rather than distraction, I was thinking that the vibrations would help us get a better picture of the surroundings. You can use it to do that, right? Like the way a bat uses the echo of its voice?" Rutger said to Darren. "If you can do it without an enemy detecting you, then between you and Mombaki we'll have a great way to neutralize their home turf advantage. That would make setting up an ambush and avoiding their guards way easier."

He looked over at Artemis, who had been quiet thus far, immersed in the magical book. "Sorry, Artemis, I just realized I'm kind of stealing your thunder. You're the S-rank, so what do you think we should do?"
After we do whatever little bit of conversation we'll have along the way, should we just fast-forward to the town and/or forest? I don't really know if we're being realistic or not, but even in the days before automobiles towns tended to be spaced fairly far apart, and walking all the way doesn't seem like it would lend much actual content to the story.
Rutger took the poster from Artemis and looked over the map, a frown creasing his face.

"This is looking fishier by the minute," he said in a low tone, looking over the scribbles that barely constituted a map. Nonetheless, he led the way out of the guild, and onto the southern streets that would take them out of town. "At least it's within walking distance, so we won't have to pay for train tickets."

The dark guild had been set up out in the depths of the forest, but a place as wealthy as Hobbs Grove was bound to have a well paid guard force, and the richer folks would likely have their own security. Why stay so close to such a high profile, high security target? Were they just stupid and overconfident, or powerful enough that they didn't care? Maybe the people of Hobbs were the kind of rich folk who were rich enough that they didn't have to know anything about the world around them. Maybe they were just throwing this ridiculous sum of money out because they could afford it, and they were naive enough about the world of mages that they thought a simple band of thugs were worth this much.

Somehow Rutger doubted things would play out so conveniently.

The woods would give them a lot of cover, especially at night, but they weren't familiar with the area. The dark guild, unless they really were just a rag-tag bunch with an unjustified bounty, would probably have lookouts posted in various places, maybe even traps or alarms. How could they get through all of that? Rutger knew a fair bit about wilderness survival, but his experiences were with mountains, not the woods. Then it hit him, and he glanced over his shoulder.

Mombaki was a well-traveled hunter, even though he was young, and his type of magic gave him an affinity for animals and nature. He could probably navigate through the forest, and maybe even track the dark mages down. And while Darren was blind, he used magic to sense vibrations around him, like a bat's echolocation in a way. Those vibrations could tell him a lot about the environment, even some things that people with sight might overlook or miss entirely. Maybe between the two of them, they would be able to do this without being ambushed themselves.

"Darren, Mombaki. Do you guys think you could work together and take point when we get to these woods? With your combined skills I think you might be our best chance at finding the targets and avoiding any traps or lookouts along the way." he said.
Just as Rutger and Mombaki were getting ready to leave, Darren and Artemis were both walking in. As the S-ranked mage inquired as to their readiness, Rutger nodded.

"I think we're all good to go. Where exactly is this dark guild located, and how will we be getting there?" the fire mage said. He hoped it wasn't too far away, and that it wasn't near a populated area. If the dark mages had their own guild building set up somewhere outside any proper civilization, they would be able to fight without worrying about collateral damage or innocent bystanders. If the place were surrounded by forests or hills, too, it would make setting up an ambush easier...then again, they would be on unfamiliar turf.

Rutger shook his head to stop his imagination from running away with him. There were too many problems with this situation already for him to be coming up with more before he even knew what they were facing.
Rutger opened his eyes, confident that he had gone over everything he thought would be of help on the mission. Well, perhaps confident was the wrong word. He was sure he had gone over everything. There was just nothing left that he thought he could use. He would have to be satisfied with what he had for now. If worse came to worst, he had the incantation. There was nothing left to do but to get going.

A quick glance up at a clock on the wall told him that Artemis and Darren would soon be back. He glanced over at Mombaki and waved a hand in the boy's direction.

"Hey, let's step outside. Artemis and Darren will be back soon, and then we can get this thing started."
