Jamie Underwood

Jamie Underwood, soon to be known by Rainbow as 'Slug' (an attractive nickname), stepped off the back end of the military truck that transported her there. Dusting off the front and hindquarters of her blue and black military fatigues. The top was stuffy and uncomfortable, but she would put up with it to look good in front of her superiors.

She stood, straight backed, head held high, chin up, hands at her side. Her dark brown hair was tied into a tight bun, and contrasted with her white skin. Listening intently to Mike, her facial expression grew slightly worried. Before her was clearly a very jaded man, who told them that their deaths were more than likely and they were walking into a trap. Her squad leader at the FBI was much better at giving speeches than this guy. Mike? Thatcher? He hadn't introduced himself, but he was very well known so she could only assume. She hoped he learned to ligthen up and be mean instead of just depressing.

Still, when he called her name, Jamie dutifully replied, "Sir," and quickly saluted. That way all her new squadmates would know who she was. Always respect your superior, no matter what. That's advice her brother told her, and she intended to follow it. She could keep her thoughts to herself- unless he could read her face well enough.

She relaxed a little bit, glancing around at the new faces in the hall after he left.

Lots of different people from lots of different places, but everyone here carried an aura of competency about them. Though, one recruit in particular caught her eye. Just from what he was wearing, he seemed to be FBI, like her. Since they had the day to themselves, Jamie decided he was her best shot at getting a friend due to their common background.

"Hey," she said, speeding up her walking pace to catch him before he wandered off somewhere. Once she got his attention, she bounced in front.

"My names Jamie, pleasure to meet you," She said, extending her right hand. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but were you FBI before coming here?" Jamie asked, raising an eyebrow and the corner of her lip into a wry smile.

Yasaliah Josk: Pilot

Yasaliah, still at the controls, heard the distant sounds of an Ular being exploded. Perfect.

"Thanks, Dev," She said simply and earnestly and returned the wave. He had a habit for using high explosives in tight corridors- but whatever gets the job done, right?

With no more distractions she returned her eyes to the various monitoring equipment available. Still following the oribtal path around the Ulnar ship, though taking care to keep the path unpredictable. Her breathe was quick and her pink hands had white knuckles as she attempted to keep the Monroe from being struck.

"I'm moving the nose of our ship up, adjust your aim, Tony," She said over the comms. The enemy fire was evaded successfully with Yasaliah's maneuvers, the glowing projectiles zooming past and flying off into space to probably get sucked into a star in 200 years from now. She tried not to think about the vastness of space and continued the evasive manuevers.

"They have a damn big ship," She said absent mindedly as she glared at it, her piercing blue eyes narrowing as it came into clear view on the monitor.

"Captain, are we leaving? Or are we, uh, finishing this?" She asked with a nervous twitch in her voice, as a projectile managed to slam into the ship, glancing off the shields in a violent explosion.

@LetMeDoStuff That image was just an example. I'll write in her CS that she has pads and stuff but she's not wearing Tachanka armor.

edited the CS, no problemo

@LetMeDoStuff

well consider Jamie Light Armored for the most speed but least protection
@LetMeDoStuff

Realistic? Maybe darker, but I was getting the impression it's still very much an exaggerated version of reality like Rainbow Six.

Like even in real life the stuff SWAT members put on their arms wouldn't stop a bullet. Maybe cushion against baseball bat. there's just not enough arm there to cover it without having a heavy ass arm and effecting shooting, because shooting first is a much more reliable way of not getting shot than having some material in the way
Chloe Caldwin

Jensen had kindly offered Chloe one of his finest pancakes. Sarah looked on in disapproval as Chloe said thank you and picked up one of the floppy brown discs with a fork and slapped it onto a paper plate. Now, she had orange juice, a sandwich, and a pancake. A hearty meal for the most important one of the day! Right?

Nilin made her way into the room, and immediately Chloe got a little nervous. She moved away from Jensen and the pancakes and moved back to a table. It was subtle- but she was actively trying to avoid Nilin. She had done it over the course of the last few months, and since Nilin isn't eager to mimic the powers of everyone she sees it had been easy. When the Experts first learned that Nilin could mimic powers they immediately commanded that this must not be allowed to happen. They said it might mess something up, that Chloe could not be sure of the nature of their connection and that it were best if no outsiders began to snoop around in her head. It might be nothing, but it might be everything. There was no sheepish cowering on Chloe's part. It was just a barely conscious decision to keep a little distance. That's all, that's all. Chloe began to calm down a little bit when Sarah made eye contact with her and made a hand gesture that all was well. Chloe heard a dull thud from upstairs.

"You lot say, nothing," Bridget said after bumping her head into the door frame.

There was really only one option. Sarah looked at Chloe crossly, as if she had read her mind on what she was about to say.

"Ms. Caldwin, don't be ru-"

"Nothing," Chloe said with chipper, false obediency, chuffed at her stupid joke. She took another bite of her sandwich and waggled her head from side to side as if she were the smartest person in the world, looking at Bridget while doing so.

"It wasn't even that clever," Sarah mumbled, running a hand down her face. She glared at Chloe. "She's new here, Chloe. You know not her temperment. I mean not to judge on appearence, but she does look like something a child would be afraid of being underneath their bed- if she could fit."

Chloe briefly looked at Sarah's direction and shook her head, knowing for certain that Bridget would appreciate her little joke before going finishing her sandwich and cutting into her pancake with a fork and knife, thinking about the parade. Meanwhile, upstairs, Reginald was looking over Viorel's shoulder as the photo of the girl was shown.

"By God! What kind of she-beast is that?" He said, incredulous, making the Sign of the Cross as he took a step back from the foul imagery.

"Calm down, dude," Arnold said peaking over Reginald's shoulder, who was peaking over Viorel's shoulder. "It's just a kid." He furrowed his eyebrows. "A really troubled kid, I'll admit, but still a kid."

Reginald shook his shaved head underneath his helmet. "In my day, a witch like that would be burned at the stake," He said disapprovingly.

"In your day Chloe would be burned at the stake," Arnold said, raising an eyebrow. Reginald reflected this on a moment. "Hmm. Touche."

"It's pronounced 'Touché'," Clarissa said as she meandered past. Reginald grumbled something about the French and began to stomp his way downstairs. Arnold looked at his wrist where there was no watch, and sighed, deciding to vanish and wait out the morning until the parade, as had Joanna.

Chloed quickly waved to Reginald as he appeared at the top of the stairway. He waved back and looked at her plate. "Pancakes, young Caldwin? Do you wish to have diabetes?" Sarah nodded in agreement. Chloe scowled and indicated with her fork that there was only one pancake there. If only they could read her mind, for she also said 'I can eat whatever I want!' with her facial expression. If she were in private she might counter verbally, but they both knew that she was embarrased to talk to her Experts in public and thus had to put up with their teasing. Reginald walked down the stairs when Viorel appeared behind him. Viorel's presence, of course, immediately filled the room.

Chloe ducked her head, realizing that Luka and Myles were in trouble for something as he called out their names.

"You're not in trouble," he added with an important addendum. Chloe visibly relaxed, going back to eating her pancake.

@LetMeDoStuff ehh, I dunno. There's lots of bits and bobs sticking off the operators in Rainbow 6 Siege but really the only place that's protected is the chest, anyway. If you actually look at them the arms is just clothing, so are the legs. Nobody wants kevlar gumming up their limbs. I saw Valkyrie and new I wanted to do something similar if a bit more minimalistic.

Even Tachanka, the beefiest MF in the game's source of additional protection over someone like Ash is the helmet. Everyone is just wearing a bulletproof vest and military fatigues
Nian Zhen, Medic of the Red Dragons

Nian Zhen solemnly listened to Lt. Kyo Jin-Hwan, still standing at attention.

"Sir, no questions here, sir!" She said, her chipper, slightly accented, but overflowing with earnest voice called out once again. Once he finished, she relaxed only slightly, glancing around the barracks and spotting her bed. She nodded to herself, satisfied.

With no further questions, she turned to examine her bed, poking it, making sure the sheets were nice a folded, fluffing out the pillow. Reyes appeared, slightly startling her.

"So you're our medic then?" He pointed to the red cross clearly visible on her uniform. His voice, she inferred, could be very intimidating if he wanted too- it kinda was even if he wasn't trying to be.

"Yes, I am!" She affirmed him proudly, nodding rapidly and smiling. The insignia of the red plus sewn into her uniform above her left breast was an honor, the fact that next to it was the motto and XCOM coat of arms was a source of immense pride for the young soldier.

"I got to say it is a relief knowing there will be someone down there to patch us up," Reyes continued, smiling. "Though no offense, I hope we don't need it."

Nian Zhen was once again solemn, ignoring his chuckle and nodding seriously, her face straightening out. "Yes, Reyes, I hope you don't need it either." She said, her eyes somewhat glazing over as she remembered previous experience as a combat medic. She blinked and looked at him in the eyes and her expression grew lighter again.

"But, if you do get hurt, you should not worry. I think I am very good, " She continued.

"What do you do, Reyes? You look big and strong- heavy weapons, maybe?" Her small, bright eyes scanned his chest and shoulders for an insignia or mention of rank.

@Jones Sparrow oh, wow, i misread that very much. The bridge is just one massive room with Yasaliah near the front? For some reason the subtext of the other posts made me think we were all in seperate rooms, but Yas could literally just shout and like, all of the crew could hear her?

Is the bridge where Yasaliah is?
