@Zapdos did Makenzie not pay attention to the fact just seemed so nonchalant about everything?

I don't understand. Did I miss something important?
As the group came to the conclusion that Valhiem might hold the answers they seek, MacKensie was still somewhat reeling from Zell's words. She struggled along with the conversation but half of her mind was reliving those finals moments on the plane with her team - her friends. The screaming and crying, her stomach turning as they dropped altitude at freefall speeds, holding onto the seat in front of her as if it would do anything to brace for impact. Fenna had said that she didn't remember, so MacKensie looked around to see if anyone else was in agreeance with Zell. Adam. He remembered clearly, it was written all over his face. What was also written was that he was upset and extremely offended by the big-mouthed buffoon. MacKensie felt for him. He was likely being forced to relive his death and loss of his loved ones just like her.

When yet another stone coffin crashed to the floor from the sky, MacKensie jumped out of her skin. She didn't realise people were looking up and so she didn't see it coming at all. After the shock, she put a hand to her heart as she tried to calm her breathing, then looked around to see it. James offered to go and see if the new person needed any help. MacKensie dumbly stared at him as he walked off before she finally gathered herself and blinked back to reality. Seeing that the stone coffin had not landed as cleanly as the others, she then realised herself and started to go after James in case an extra helping hand was necessary.

"You should really think before you talk," she said in reprimand to the nearby Zell as she walked away from the group. To talk so casually of their deaths, or their kidnapping to another dimension as he'd earlier put it - tp say it was just 'way too soon' would be the understatement of the century. The newcomer was out of the coffin by the time MacKensie approached. As James had asked, she quickly checked her backpack to see if she had any water. "I'm sorry, I don't have any water," she told them both as she closed the distance. "Nice to meet you," she said to the woman. "I am MacKensie. MacKensie Trydant. You are probably a little confused, no?" She offered a weak chuckle and a reassuring smile. "You are not alone in this."
@SaiyanWhile having similar backgrounds (sports/university,) Zell and MacKensie could not be more polar opposites. Everytime you post, I'm just like, 'omg this freaking guy' lmao xD
<Snipped quote by Zool>
That could be the case - I missed that detail. There are a lot of international characters in this RP!

Dubai was interesting. The scale of the place is impressive and it's very glitzy. Some of the buildings (for example the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world) are ones you won't find anywhere else. I liked the warm weather there as well.

That being said, the urban parts of Dubai are very crowded, it could be overwhelming at times (e.g. lots of drivers who didn't seem to value their lives), and it felt kind of artificial at times (if that makes any sense).I liked the place, but I probably wouldn't go back unless someone with me wanted to go there.

I remember everything >:D mwahaha-choke-cough

Sounds pretty amazing for a one-time must-see kinda thing. lmao at the drivers, sounds terrifying. At least you can say you've been there and done that. Glad you mostly enjoyed it xD
@ZapdosThink he means Fenna. At the start, Zell identified MacKensie's accent as French, but couldn't place Fenna's accent, only knowing that she was European.

How was Dubai?
@ZoolAhh, the conveniences of being a hero in a DnD setting lol. Also Deutsch is the German language. I think you meant Dutch when referring to Fenna who is from the Netherlands. Just a heads up.

@Dark CloudZool's go to character is Tara, the sassy, scrappy peasant girl who absolutely would have tried to dropkick one of those ogres lol powers or not.

Aw crap, I'll edit my post lmao

Hey, Tara has sentimental value. She needs reiterations lol lots of them xD

MacKensie Trydant, I created years ago and got through like 10 posts before I was done. Such wasted potential. So I convinced @xenon to make this RP partly so I could finally fulfill her destiny lol and it was a fun idea, but I'm no GM nor am I a good world builder.
I posted again also. Not an update, just a little something from Vadim to keep the flow and to add knowledge about the 'Adventurer Inventory' situation.

Now I have an excuse for why MacKensie will rarely run out of bolts xD
The man with the samurai sword appeared in sight within a flash. Literally. The light of the sun bounced off his sword into MacKensie's eyes before she had even seen him properly, then after that the ogre was dead and he was just... there. Yet another display of remarkable powers.

She mentally dispeled the shock of this and aimed her one-handed crossbow sharply left and right around the battlefield, looking for enemy targets. What she saw was townguards chasing skeletons out of the gate and out of sight, and the Beserker Ogre falling into the dirt, inpart covered with ice and hoarfrost. She put her away her crossbow, clipping it onto her belt at the small of her back. It was over.

"We did it," she said exuberantly, almost bouncing in excitement, beaming a smile at Adam with a hand on his shoulder. She walked forward, sharing a smile and a handshake with a townguard. Then she clasped forearms and a pat on the shoulder with another.

"Thank you, Ranger," said one of them.

"And you, sir," she replied. She wasn't sure why he called her 'Ranger' but... "I'm glad we could help."

Eventually she got to the man with the samurai sword. MacKensie could tell by his clothes that he was one of them. He stood out a mile away. "I'm MacKensie Trydant," she said, offering her hand to shake. "Thanks for the assist."

When she saw the American man and the Dutch woman who had gone off in the other direction before the battle, MacKensie was overjoyed. She realised that they must have been helping the evacuation and she was glad that they were back. She went over to them, wanting to offer handshakes and goodwill, also to ask if everyone got out safely, but she fell into silence when she saw the Commander. He looked on the edge of death.

She stood in audience as the town's leader called everyone over and explained the situation. Of course, this only brought more questions - she didn't realise Adam had picked up an artifact from the Skeleton Leader - but the Commander at least provided some answers in his speech too. MacKensie didn't need telling twice, and chose to digest the information later - she was ready to go. Although she was glad she didn't speak up first, because when Adam and the dutch woman spoke, they sounded far more sensible and knowledgeable about the things they would need before they just went out into the wild for two days. MacKensie pursed her lips in a solemn smile to the American who showed his manners and his heart when he refused the reward. It seemed she had a good group around her.

"Oh, ummm..." MacKensie was surprised when she was the one who was given the satchel of silver to carry. It felt a little scary to be charged with everyone's money. Awkwardly, she looked around to see if anyone disapproved, then took her backpack off and put the reward away. "Huh?" was another note of surprise when she put the backpack back on and could barely feel the change in weight. It was clearly a heavy satchel she'd had in her hand just a moment ago, but her backpack felt just as light as it always had. "Strange," she muttered.

"I'm with you," she said to the woman with the longbow next to her, then looked over to Adam and nodded inclusively. If this task was really so important, then she would do anything necessary to see it done.
@ZapdosResearched most of it earlier xD I already knew Adam tho, which was the reason that sparked my curiosity. And I knew that Marsel and Michel were French in origin.
@Crusader LordAw, that would've been so funny if we set that up and then later they talked it out and realised it lol But I already have her plane crashing into a canyon, flying from France to Japan.

Speaking of ironic, some of the character's names in this story have mild to strong connections to their owner.

@Calle Fenna means "Peace" which lines up really well with her personality and background.

@Zapdos Adam means "Earth" or "Soil" which is fits perfectly with his Adventurer Class.

@Teyao Sirius means "Glowing" which fits the Cleric Class.

@Saiyan Marsel means "Young Warrior" It's also French too, so we could use this for a cool interaction.

@Goblinguy Arthur means "Bear" or "Strong" just lol

@Dark Cloud Michel means "Who is like a God" which sums up the Legend that is Clive!

That's a lot of coincidences!
