Grant didn't leave, but he stepped back away from Adelisa's door. He didn't bother responding to Delilah, used to the animosity from her. Of course everything was his fault. It always was, in her eyes.

Grant watched as Hunter banged on Adelisa's door, furious with him. "Hunter, step away from the goddamn door," he snapped. His heart was pounding with fear for her life. He watched Jareth go to the door and kneel down, slipping his fingers under the door. He couldn't shake the feeling that it should be him trying to talk her out of this, trying to help her, and he tried his best not to let the fact that she didn't want him there at all hurt him. She felt used, and she thought Grant had been one of the people to use her.

His eyes closed in agitation when the door cracked open slightly. He almost moved to take a step forward, but Adelisa let out a whimper at the sight of him and he looked at her, seas of sorrow in his eyes. Jareth and Amelia were preparing to talk to her, and Grant looked at the door, wanting to help her as well. Although it seemed like the best way to help her was in his case to stay as far away as possible.

Amelia had tried, but she understood why Dela could speak to her right now. She was glad Jareth was there. It didn't matter who she talked to, it just had to be someone. Amelia half-smiled softly when Dela opened the door and said she just wanted Jar and Lila. It was understandable. Amelia walked out of the condo just as Jar went to get Lila. On her way out she stopped a couple of feet from the trio in the hall- Hunter, Jareth, and Lila. "Thank you, Jar. For taking care of her. And for giving Lila her smile back." Amelia smiled softly before letting her eyes land on Hunter for the first time.

Her heart ached, she wanted to make sure he was okay, but she couldn't find the words. Amelia turned and walked to the elevators, she needed some fresh air. Her heart was cold and her head was pounding. She stepped into the elevator and went to the top floor. After a little searching she found the staircase she was looking for. With a bobby pin from her hair she managed to unlock the door. Amelia walked up the two flights of stairs and pushed the door open to the roof. As she walked onto the roof the view took her breath away. She walked closer to the edge before sitting down on the concrete. The flame from the lighter lit her face as she ignited another smoke. Amelia pulled her knees up into her chest. Tonight had been one of the hardest nights of her life. The only other one that compared to this? The night Hunter was with that girl. She remember every little detail. She had been so excited to surprise him. She spent hours- hours- getting dressed and prepared for his arrival. She was wearing that burgundy strapless dress, her dirty blonde hair was in loose curls, she had bathed in lilac.. She could still smell the lilac. She was in love with Hunter. Not just loved him, no, she was in love with him.

Amelia sighed and took another drag of the cigarette as she looked over the horizon. It was beautiful out tonight. She wished the others could see this. She wished more than anything Hunter was here with his arm around her trying to make shapes out of the stars. Like they did in the back of his El Camino. Amelia looked up and let out a breath of smoke, maybe it was time to let go. Amelia was graduating and moving into her final years of veterinary school at Colorado State. In Colorado she wouldn't know anyone, no one would know her. Amelia flicked the cigarette and watching it sail off the side of the building before looking into her carton and realizing she only had one left.

”Okay, JarBear, I promise I’ll behave,” Delilah said in the most gentle voice she could muster. She was sweet, and precious and graceful, all things he’d greatly missed in life these past two months. When she took his hand in hers, it hit him full force: He’d just earned her back mere hours ago, they should be celebrating with each other. There’d be time for that later, he supposed, once everyone was safe from harm – at least, temporarily safe.

Just before Jar and Lila left Hunter in the dust, Amelia came outside of the suite. ”Thank you, Jar. For taking care of her. And for giving Lila her smile back.” Jar smiled, she was probably unaware of how much her words of affirmation meant. He’d spent his whole life being treated like that bad guy, even though he wasn’t. Hell, his own foster parents kicked him out. Jar gave Hunter a pointed look and looked from him, to Amelia as she was walking away.

“You gotta clean up the mess you made, Hunter, even if it doesn’t fix things immediately.” he whispered to Hunter. With that said, Jar and Lila went back into the suite. He let go of her hand, as hard as it was to do, before knocking softly on the door frame. “It’s just Lila and I, I promise.” Was the only thing he said.

Delilah ragged Hunter into the hall, where he receives one of the biggest slaps of his life. "NEVER put a hand on me again, Hunter, or I swear to you I'll give you another story to tell about why you're in the hospital again. Do you understand me? Or do I need to give you a couple of more slaps?" He was in shock as she went back into the suite, he didn't know what to do though. He panicked, He had no idea what to do when he caught on too the situation back then. He was scared of losing the people close to him. He fell back against the wall, slowly sliding to the floor. "...I was only trying too help..." Didn't help the situation when Adelisa said she was being used. Is that how his actions came across? Was he that much of a moron?! "DAMMIT!" He screamed as his fist hit the dry wall.

He pulled his hand off the wall in shock, he's impulsive. He punched the guy Amelia was with out cold, who had no idea why. He drive the damn car well he was drunk as hell, barely got out of that alive. He kissed Adelisa when he was weak, when he felt like he was alone now, and then trying to fix the effects from that he runs into the girls condo like a mad man and tried to kick int he damn door?!

Amelia walked by him as he was on the ground. She kept going, he wanted too call out and try to fix what chances they had... or at least get a chance to talk to her again. He wasn't going to just let her slip away again, even if they wouldn't get back together he wanted a chance to say goodbye.

Hunter pulled himself up after Amelia got into the elevator. It hurt like hell but this was something he had to do. He got into the elevator to as high as it would go, then eh would have to take the stairs. He made it about Three steps before he stopped from the pain. "Dammit..." he breathed for a moment and looked up. "Alright... only a few more times of dying and I'll be at the top." He kept forcing himself to get up the stairs, supporting himself on the railing as he went, each step causing more pain then the last.

He made it to the stop, he felt like he was going to collapse, Why the hell were stairs so damn hard?! He could walk just fine... ish, but these stairs were kicking his ass! Then he saw the door, it was already unlocked, he guess right. The damn roof.

He opened the door and started to walk up to Amelia, then he froze... What could he say? Sorry for being such a stubborn moron?! He had to say something, he couldn't just stand there doing nothing. "Amelia?" She was smoking again. "You know, those are bad for your health right?" He walked over to the ledge next to her and set next to her with his legs hanging over the edge. "Before you go off on me for being such a moron, I need to say a few things." He took a deep breath and sighed. "I am a moron, and a fucking Mudak. I have impulsive actions trying to do things that might be able to be settled if someone was to stop and think. I don't do that. I don't think, I just try to act and I fuck things up well trying." He took another breath, speaking too people was a skill he sucked at. "I really don't know ho to fix things, I fucked them up so badly I have no idea what to do now, I mean I kissed your best friend for fucks sake! I am a weak fucking moron who can't keep his own thoughts in control." He looked her int he eyes. "I love you still, I know I have done a shitty job at showing it, but there is no one I care about more then you. Now I don't know if you still feel the same way about me but if you don't I will leave, my car will be fixed in a couple days and I will go, I already have the paper work to drop out as well. I'll take the old piece of shit car and just drive, You wont see me again. I am tired of screwing over you life because I keep screwing up." he turned his head to face forward again. "You deserve someone who wont make your life hell. Someone who cares enough to not let there problems ruin your life." He stopped. "I thought that could be me, I don't even know anymore."

Adelisa nodded when Lila and Jareth entered her line of sight. She stepped aside to let them in and moved to the bed. Her arms wrapped around one of the pillows and she sobbed into it. How could she cry more? It felt like she had been crying for ages. When she saw Grant's face as the whimper slipped from her lips, she knew what she needed to do. She knew it was all over for her and Grant. It only made it hurt worse.

She hid her face into the pillow and almost screamed. Too many emotions were swirling around for her to scream. Instead, she remained silent. Like most of the time, she was silent about how she felt. Hold it in, Addy. I know it hurts, but hold it in, her mother's words trickling into her mind, poisoning her thoughts. Her mother called her Addy when she was younger… and when Grant called her Addy she felt so happy. It was only his nickname for her after her mother died. He was only allowed to call her that. Now, that name felt like a punch in the face.

And Hunter? Why did he do that? Why did he kiss her? She had no clue it was even coming and he did the one thing she dispised: taking her control away. He took control over the situation and it made Adelisa hurt even more. He even said 'they were being assholes'. Doesn't that mean he wanted to get back at Amelia? Isn't that childish? She bit her bottom lip even more, to the point of blood, as she thought about Amelia. Amelia was her best friend -no sister- and Hunter used Dela to get to Amelia.

Adelisa hated that word: used. She felt cheap and abhored. She was always used, though. She was used by Grant and hidden like a disgusting guilty pleasure. She was used by Hunter as a whore he could use to hurt Amelia. She was used by everyone. When could she find someone who wouldn't use her? When could she find someone that would not only take care of her, but let her take care of him? Was it too much to ask for? Was any love too much to ask for?

Jar and Lila were about to enter the suite when Amelia stepped outside. She looked at Jar and told him: ”Thank you, Jar. For taking care of her. And for giving Lila her smile back.” She smiled sweetly at him, and he smiled back at her. Lila felt happy that Amelia and Jareth always seemed to get along, and so she kissed her best friend's cheek, muttered a thank you before Milli walked away. When she'd had her back to them, Jar gave Hunter a pointed look and whispered: “You gotta clean up the mess you made, Hunter, even if it doesn’t fix things immediately.”

With that said, Jar and Lila went back into the suite. Begrudgingly, Jar let go of her hand before knocking softly on Adelisa's door. Lila was suddenly nervous and afraid about what they would be looking at once Dela opened the door for them. “It’s just Lila and I, I promise.”

Dela opened the door and nodded at them as they entered her room. She stepped aside to let them in and moved to the bed. Her arms wrapped around one of the pillows and she sobbed into it, hiding her face from Lila and Jar's view. After a while, though, she became silent, and the couple were left to wonder about what was going on in her head. It was one of Adelisa's biggest conflicts: she was silent about how she felt most of the time. Lila remembered when she'd told them about how her mother always said to her 'Hold it in, Addy. I know it hurts, but hold it in' when she'd been in her cancer treatment, asking Dela to be strong for them. But Lila thought Dela had taken that too personal, and she sometimes bottled up so many feelings and thoughts that blew up like an atomic bomb when they were too much.

Lila gave Jar a look, placed a comforting hand on Dela's back and said to her: "Dela, Jar has more experience than me when it comes to how you're feeling, so I'll just let him do the talking. I'll be here for physical comfort if you wish for it. Let me know."

After letting them in, Dela went to her bed and sobbed into her pillow. Jar shut the door softly behind them and did a quick sweep of the room, seeing what was around that Addy might be tempted to use against herself. He knelt down to scoop up the pills and put them back in the container. He noticed they were sleeping pills, so he put the container in his pocket to take out of the room when he left. Jar was no hypocrite, though, if Dela wanted to use drugs to make the pain go away, he wouldn’t stop her. Hell, he had done worse things to numb himself. So he put three of the pills on her end table, it wasn’t enough to kill her, but enough to make her sleep for a while if that’s what she needed to feel better.

Delilah had sat on the bed next to Adelisa and rubbed her back, she spoke a little bit, but Jar could tell that she was trying really hard not to say too much. She had pretty much given Jar the reigns to do all of the talking, but he didn’t really have anything to say. Addy had to lead this conversation. There is healing in talking out your problems. “I don’t need to talk if you don’t want me too. I can just listen.” He looked over at the doorway, the acoustic he had returned to her was leaning against the wall. “Or I could play for you, and you could sing. Lila and I would love to hear you sing.” That what he did to feel better when he was down, some of his best lyrics were written in times of deep sorrow. His stomach grumbled a little, he hadn’t eaten all day and he wasn’t sure they had either “Or we could all just sit here quietly and order a ton of room service.”

Adelisa slowly removed her face from the pillow and looked up at Lila. Then her eyes landed on Jareth and the surprised expression she gave him showed she was not used to this. Her head swam with words and she said hoarsely "I-I want to talk…" She looked at Lila and smiled softly before looking down at her hands. "I don't know where to start… but… I think I should start somewhere, right?" Her heart filled with hope as she spoke. Was she finally going to talk? Were her words finally going to help her? Or hinder her more?

Maybe, when she hears herself she will decide what is best for her. She looked up at Jareth and said "do you know why Grant and I broke up? Originally. Not the whole 'it was mutual' thing, but the real, deep down reason?" She looked at Lila and let out a sad laugh. "Quite the cliche, isn't it?" Adelisa looked down at her arm and held it with her opposite hand. "He was embarrassed of me. Whether it was my personality or my looks, he was embarrassed of everything." She looked up at Jareth and said "for gosh sakes, he tried to introduce me as his friend when he told me you were his best friend! He was so used to saying 'she's just a friend' to everyone that I was confused on what we were!"

Jareth pressed his lips in a straight line when Addy told him about her and Grant’s break up. It seemed as though both of his best friends weren’t quite honest about their reasons for ending things with their girls. At least when Jar and Lila broke up he was honest with them, a sobbing emotional mess that they didn’t know how to deal with, but honest none-the-less.

“I’m sorry that he did that to you, Addy. If it helps, I knew that you were more than just his friend from the start. He did love you; he’d talk about you when it was just us guys, but…” Jar let out a sigh and sat down in the fluffy arm chair across from the bed before speaking again. “Grant has issues about his appearance, which, I’m sure you know best of all of us. He didn’t like to be seen out with me either. That being said, it’s Grant’s problem, not yours. He is just paranoid and cautious, but there is nothing wrong with you. You are beautiful and spunky and musical, and it is really Grant’s loss to not be with you anymore. But you, you deserve someone who wants to show you off to the world. Don’t let the meathead get you down so low, you’re destined for much greater things.”

She almost scoffed. "Yeah, to do his wife's hair and hear about how he's 'so successful'." She looked at Jareth and sighed. "I don't think I'll ever get that kind of a man to be honest. I mean, I'm only someone to be used; if that whole debacle with Hunter were anything to go by." She looked down at her hands and bit her bottom lip. "And I'm scared. I'm terrified of meeting guys. And Grant knows that. He… he made me love him so badly that I can't look at a guy without thinking 'will he be embarrassed of me too?'"

She leaned her head onto Lila's shoulder and looked at the pills on her bedside table, void of emotion. She felt numb now, as she relished the feeling. Being numb meant she could feel no sadness. She couldn't feel her heart ripping to shreds, nor her mind trying to pick up the pieces. She looked back at Jareth and said "I just let whatever it is happen. I let Hunter kiss me, I let Grant walk all over me again, I even let Delilah give you my guitar. When do I get something? When everyone is mad at me and telling me I'm horrible?" She hugged Lila to show she didn't mean to make her feel guilty, but it was the truth.

Jareth had shut the door softly behind them when they'd entered the room, and while Lila had been rubbing her back, he'd done a quick sweep of the room to make sure anything dangerous was out of reach. The only thing he'd left were three pills on top of her nightstand, which Lila assumed couldn't be dangerous if Jar had left them there. He then gave Dela options about how to proceed: having them listen, him to play her guitar so she could sing or pig around ordering room service. Had it been Lila on a bad day, she'd jump at that last chance without hesitation. Food, especially sweets, made her feel instantly better.

Adelisa slowly removed her face from the pillow and looked up at them, deciding to open up and talk to them. Lila listened sympathetically as Adelisa confessed to Jareth the exact reason about why her and Grant had broken up. That was pretty much the reason why Lila couldn't stand the guy, and was only civil to him out of love for Dela. When Dela was done with her story, Jar had been so sweet to her that Lila felt like her love for him had grown. Jar could be a prick sometimes, but he had a sweet, kind heart behind even after all the hell he'd gone through. I'm so grateful to call you mine, Lila thought as she gave him a loving look.

Delilah's attention was brought back to Dela when her best friend almost scoffed. She went off to further confess to Jar her biggest insecurities. Lila took that as a good sign: Dela was slowly letting go of all the poison that had been killing her for so long. She leaned her head onto Lila's shoulder, and Lila wrapped her arms around her, showing her just how much she loved and cared for her. Then Dela talked about how she basically thought of herself as a push-over, and even threw some jabs at Lila, making her feel guilty for some of her actions. Dela hugged Lila, and Lila kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry I've ever made you feel that way, Dela," she said gently, now stroking a lock of Dela's hair. She'd promised to Jar that she wouldn't talk, but Lila felt it was right to. "I'm sorry about your guitar, I'm sorry about what I said in the bar, and I'm sorry if I've ever done anything else to hurt you in the course of or friendship, even if I didn't realize it. Jar's right, though: you are beautiful, it's Grant’s loss to not be with you anymore, you deserve someone who wants to show you off to the world, and you’re destined for much greater things."

Amelia knew who it was when the door opened to the roof. She knew Hunter, she knew him well. And she knew that whenever Hunter wasn't drunk he was a caring and kind hearted person. Of course, he would never tell anyone that, but Amelia knew. Just the sound of her name rolling off his lips made her think about lighting the last cigarette she had. Then came the same comment that Hunter always said when he caught her smoking. She had almost stopped while they were together, but after the break up she was back to smoking a pack a day.

Amelia half smiled and shook her head, "There is a lot worse things then smoking. And you know I'm not going to go ff on you Hunter. I'm not a fighter. Maybe that's why I let our relationship go. I'm not emotional. I'm not one to pour my heart out willingly to anyone. I bottle everything up. I hide it. So when this all came out I just hid. It was easier. I couldn't face you. J didn't know how to face you. I knew you already felt shitty enough without seeing how much it effected me. So I just ran. I know that wasn't you, Hunter. I know in your right state of mind you would never do that to me. I didn't know how to react. I didn't know how to work this out. I didn't know how to forgive you." Amelia paused to take a deep breath.

"I still love you, I will always love you. But for this to work I've got to be able to trust you again. I can't be with someone who drowns their problems in alcohol." Amelia turned to face him, reached her palm up to gently touch his cheek. "You're going to have to quit the binge drinking. You are going to be a father. You have to take the responsibility now. He or she will need you there. And not drunk, they'll need a hero. Someone to hold them and comfort them and teach them about life. You don't have to be perfect. You just have to try."

Hunter smiled, he was glad that Amelia understood his situation, he still felt like an asshole for his actions. But it was nice to know that she understood the situation. He turned over and Hugged her tight, as tight as he could with one arm, tears rolling down his face. "It's not mine, The kid isn't mine." He let go and held Amelia's shoulder with his good hand. "I called my sister after the car wreck and she was getting ready to call me! They got the results! The kid isn't mine!" He hugged her again.

He let go and grabbed a small flask. "You want me to go easy on drinking? I can do that." He tossed the flask off the roof. He barely noticed a person on the ground below get pegged with the flask. "...oops." He struggled to not laugh at the poor sucker who got hit with the flask. "Well then, quitting drinking may be a bit more entertaining then I though." The person got up an started cussing a storm. "...Ya glad I'm not down there."

Hunter walked to the other side of Amelia so his good arm could be wrapped around her. "And ya, I am not needed as a drunk, I am needed as a hero." He took a deep breath. "I love you still, I never have loved anyone else more then you. And if you want, I would like to be your hero, I want to be there for you, I need to know that who ever you are with is the right person for you, and I am hoping that person could be me."

Amelia listened to his words, but they didn't sink in until she saw the tears rolling down his cheeks. Her face instantly lit, and she looked over at him as he switched sides to hold her closer. He wanted to love her again, the sound made her heart flutter again. She smiled like an idiot she was sure, but she did not care. Amelia threw one leg over his lap, straddling his waist. She held his face in her hands softly and after such a long time pressed her lips to Hunter's once again.

She kissed him softly, entangling their lips with every ounce of passion she had felt after their separation. Amelia gently, slowly pushed Hunter onto his back. She didn't care, she didn't care who saw or where they were. Amelia kissed Hunter, she held his face close to hers and breathed in his scent. She loved him, she loved Hunter more than he would ever know.

Adelisa sighed and smiled at Lila. "I don't know anymore. I really, truly, don't. Grant's always going to be there. He's always going to be in my life. You and Jareth are together and, knowing Amelia and Hunter, they are probably back together; meaning my 'girl's only vacation'just turned into a couple's vacation with two third wheel exes. He's ALWAYS going to be around and how am I supposed to move on from him? How am I supposed to go on with my life if he's always going to show up in it?"

She shook her head and closed her eyes. "Everytime I close my eyes, he's there." She slowly opened her eyelids and looked at Jareth. "Now tell me, Mr. Psychic, how am I going to have fun on a vacation with my ex boyfriend?" She sighed. "This is why I'll never get back with an ex. Obviously, there was a reason we broke up. Otherwise we'd still be together." She bit her bottom lip again, but the blood from her last lip-bitting was still not dry. She then looked at the sleeping pills and said "where are the rest of them?"

“Mr. Pyschic?” he chuckled at her sarcasm, it was a good sign that she was still feisty. “Well, I can do my best to keep Grant away from you, if that’ll help you feel better. And it doesn’t have to be a couples vacation, though I doubt Hunter and Milli made up, I wouldn’t forgive him if I was her. Hell, I’m not very happy with him myself at the moment. But you guys should still have your girls vacation together.” Jar smiled and looked over at Lila with affection in his eyes “Just… let me have her for the nights.”

Adelisa started to get worked up again, but she seemed less likely to be a danger to herself. Jar felt like he didn’t really need to be there anymore, Lila was her best friend, she could help better than he could from now on. Dela looked at the sleeping pills and realized most of them were gone and inquired as to where. Jar made an awkward face, yup, definitely time for him to go. “What’s that? I don’t know… Hey, Bombs. I’m gonna go for a run and then shower. I’ll talk to you later?” he hoped that he’d be able to see her later, but he’d settle for talking only if Dela needed her to stay. Before walking out the door, Jar turned back to Adelisa “It gets better Addy, I promise. And if it seems like it isn’t, you can always talk to me about it, phone or in person, it doesn’t matter when.” She nodded and Jar left the two of them alone.

Once back in his own suite, Jar changed into the clothes he packed for running, a green tank top and black basketball style shorts. A lot had happened today, a good run along the beach and through the woods would offer a peaceful escape from his thoughts. Above all, he ran with a smile on his face, so very gratefully that Delilah was around to keep it there once more. This time around, they’d try to do things right by each other…

Grant sighed, standing and staring at the closed door before turning and walking out of the room. Adelisa was fine. If not fine, she was alive, and she was pouring her heart out to Jared and Delilah. Jared, the guy she'd always thought her rival. And while he ached to talk to her, she clearly didn't want him, and he figured it made sense, although he didn't know how things had gotten to this again when they'd worked things out. She was upset and suicidal, but he was the one who'd watched her make out with his best friend. The entire situation was one he couldn't figure out. And mad as he was at Hunter, he could only hope he and Amelia had worked things out. Great. The vacation had turned out just fine for them, and here he was.

He opened the door of the condo, walked to the fridge, got a bottle of vodka out and sat at the counter of the kitchen. He raised the bottle to his lips and took a long drink. Jesus, he wanted to stop feeling like shit. He kept at the bottle until it was empty, then got another one from the fridge although the trip to the fridge was a little more awkward that time around. Halfway through the second one, his mind was a slur of images, none of them from the past few days. Then a picture of Adelisa in his mind, laughing and pulling him into a pool, clear as day. He groaned as finished the bottle, then got up unsteadily and stumbled to his room, miraculously managing to avoid breaking anything on the way. Actually, he'd broken two bottles on the counter with an ungainly sweep of his hand while getting up, but the event hadn't registered in his mind.

Adelisa nodded her head and reached for the sleeping pills when Jareth left. She knew he was kind to her tonight, but tomorrow it was back to their rivalry. She put the pills in a drawer and looked at Lila, saying "do you think Grant and I could ever get back to what we were?" Her eyes shined with sorrow. She missed him. She wondered if they could just get rid of their feelings toward eachother.

Maybe it if they gave another night… maybe… maybe if he came over and they didn't talk… No. That was a ridiculous idea. Those kind of relationships only end in someone catching feelings. She looked around and started wondering where her phone was, stress overcoming her.

Adelisa had sighed and smiled at Lila, pretty much letting them know she'd feel uncomfortable if she was a third wheel (highly unlikely, since she didn't see it as something certain that Amelia would forgive Hunter's actions easily) and asking them how she was supposed to get over Grant when he'd be present throughout their vacation. Jareth had listened carefully and handled everything with such gentleness it surprised Lila that him and Adelisa were even rivals one time. When Jar mentioned the vacation not having to be a couple's retreat, Lila nodded reassuringly at Dela. And when he looked at Lila with such affection and said that he wanted to have have for the nights, she immediately blushed and shyly smiled at him, tucking a strand of her behind her ear. She'd spent the last two months missing Jareth, wanting nothing more than to have him with her. Spending the nights with him sounded like paradise.

When Dela asked about the pills, Jar played the clueless card and bowed out, telling Lila he would be out for a run and letting Dela know that he would be there for her in case she needed him. Dela and Lila nodded at him, and the latter threw him a kiss and turned to Dela as Jar closed the door behind him. She would have to remember to ask him to toss the pills and not be an ass by keeping them for himself.

Lila was alarmed when the first thing Dela did after Jar had left was to reach for the pills in the nightstand. "What are you doing?!" she asked Dela in a panicked, high-pitched voice. To her relief, Dela simply put the pills inside the drawer. "Oh, thank goodness!" Lila muttered under her breath, letting out a grateful sigh.

Then Dela turned to her with sad, sorrowful eyes and asked her: "do you think Grant and I could ever get back to what we were?"

Lila thought for a moment before answering. "Sweetie, I think that the only way you should get back with Grant is if he proves himself to be worthy of you. You should let him prove that his intentions with you are serious, that you are an important part of his life, and that he is proud to call you his own. If he doesn't, then I don't think he's the right guy for you, Dela. You should never have to change or hide who you are in order to please anyone."

Jar kept his phone on him as he took a lengthy run through the woods and ending it along the beach. The sun was just beginning to set when he finished running and he decided to take a quick shower in one of the beach hut showers to rinse the sweat off. The soap provided smelled like pineapples and coconuts, very pleasant. Smells like this always reminded him of Lila, as she had a bit of an obsession with fragrances.

After showering, Jar walked back out onto the beach. Jareth plopped down, shirtless, in one of the lounge chairs. Even though the sun was starting to set, Jar hoped that maybe he could get just enough sun to not look like a tattooed ghost anymore, but not so much that he burned, which usually happened to him pretty quickly. The run had succeeded in clearing his mind, but waking up so early to write that song and the emotional rollercoaster of a day had him weary and exhausted. Jar hardly realized that he was starting to doze until a womans voice woke him up.

”Hey, handsome,” she said and Jar opened his eyes to take a look “You’re the guy that played earlier today. You have a wonderful voice” she purred. “What are you doing out here alone? If I was your girl, I wouldn’t leave you alone on this beach looking and sounding like you do…” she said playfully with a dose of seduction in her voice. She was sitting on the lounge chair next to his, with her elbows perched on her knees. She had sideswept bangs and long black hair with chunky streaks of fire-engine red throughout it. Her septum and left eyebrow were pierced, along with gauged ears. The black and white skull and crossbones bikini revealed that she had a healthy splash of goth-inspired tattoos all over her lithe body. Her make-up was dark and contrasted her pale skin perfectly. If Delilah hadn’t showed up, this probably would have been the girl that Jar would have hooked up with for the week, maybe more…

“Lucky for me, you’re not my girl.” Jar said back smoothly. It was a douchebag move, but he knew that if Delilah saw this, her jealously would light the beach ablaze. He wasn’t really ready to fight on their first day back together so, he hoped, as beautiful as this girl was, that she would go away soon. Very soon.

“Whatever, prick!” the girl said and stormed away in a huff. Jar smiled and chuckled lightly, that was one of Lila’s favorite things to call him when she was angry with him. He had to admit, though, sometimes it really could be true. Jar glanced at his cell phone, no new messages yet. He wondered how things were going with Dela and yawned. Maybe he could just sleep here under the stars… wouldn’t that be paradise?
