Penny
Penny smiled at Karn, settling down to maintain a watch on the fire, listening as she did so. She watched the fire to make sure it wasn't going to spread, and get out of control, as after all, that was the last thing they needed. When he said that he was afraid of water, she frowned. She could understand it if she said she was afraid of water, as, well, water and fire don't mix, but Karn? Maybe it was the shapeshifter in him, but still...had something happened to cause this phobia? she looked over to him, and said "Why are you afraid of water Karn? Did something happen to give you this fear? It just doesn't make sense" she spoke kindly, as the fire's warmth washed over her.
Master Jamie
Jamie listened as Masahiko spoke. Even if the place was nearly empty, if still meant that there was a few people that they had to find, and get out. "Right, well then, we need to gather up the rest of the guild, and any straggles in the building, to get them out" She said

"So we're simply to be on guard for the time being." Joshua said, sheathing his katana. He then leaned back with his hands behind his head and relaxed but still very alert. Amelia tucked her wings back under her shirt and shook her head. "White... isn't my color." She said, taking a few more fries and eating" Uuuhhh... where's the tea?"

Karn Fiore || Kabo || Council Library Interacting: Penny
Karn hummed happily as he sat beside the warm fire, happy that he was drying off. At the question, his smile faded and his emerald eyes looked to her for a moment before thoughtfully staring at the flames. To be honest, he wasn't sure anymore. He knew the excuses he had but it was just pathetic to not get over that one fear after many years right? He accepted he deserved it, that things happen, that people get upset to the point of doing things they wouldn't do normally. It was human nature. So why was he still afraid, of nothing else but water?
~~13 Years Earlier~~
"Mom! Can we go fishing? I want to catch a really big one!" A small blonde child with wide green eyes chirped up to a woman about the spitting older image of him, wearing a light blue dress and had her long blonde hair pulled back in a braid that reached to her hips. The emerald eyed woman smiled as she cut some fruits in the kitchen, her delicate fingers gracefully running along the apple in her hand. "Well I'm not so sure. I guess it is pretty clear outside but perhaps you should wait for your father and brother to return." she said kindly, her voice smooth and motherly as she resumed cutting up the apple. A groan came from the little boy before giving a pout. "Buuuuut Moooooom! I want to fish! Erik always gets all the fishes and brags about it! Says I'm too little to do anything! Please? I've been practicing swimming and fishing by the river but all the good fishes are on the ocean. Please!" the boy begged, pouted and whined. Sighing, the woman set down the apple and looked outside before smiling down at him. "Well alright, but only for a hour or two alright? Now my little sunshine how about you take a bath, eat your lunch and get your things ready okay? And give your hard working mother some hugs and kisses." she grinned before kneeling down and capturing the little boy in a bear hug, huggling the poor little boy who squirmed. "Bleeeeh!!!! Mooooom! Do you have to hug and kiss me so much?! It's embarrassing! The other kids say only girls hug and do kissy stuff." he complained but his mother just hugged him closer. "Oh Karn, don't listen to them. If you don't show your affection to someone, how will they know you care? Sometimes, they don't believe only words, and they need a hug to go along with how much you care. Understand? Or do you not care for me?" his mother grinned softly. Karn blinked at the words, seeming not to fully comprehend them but hugged his mother around the neck and pecked her cheek. "I love you mom! No question to it!" he smiled brightly. Chuckling the woman pecked his forehead before ushering him out the room. "I love you too, now Karnold Arikelia, get to the bath." She said with a playful grin. Karn pouted but smiled, before skipping away down the hall. ---- "Mom!" Screaming, the young boy tried to hand on to the rocking wooden boat for dear life, his mother attempting to keep it stable as she shifted her body weight with the roaring waves. The storm had come out of no where, just not long ago the sky was a clear blue and the ocean water still and calm. Now, however, a sudden storm had raged and the waves were roaring, the rain pounding against it and thunder booming in the sky. Screams erupted as a large waved came over them, crushing the boat and sending the passengers into the angry ocean. Salt water filled Karn's mouth and dived into his small lungs. Coughing and choking, the boy tried with all his might to keep his head above water, but the waves kept slamming on top of him, as if forcing him to stay under. His mother... Where was she? He needed to save her... She needed help... He wanted to come out here... Looking around desperately for her, his emerald eyes wide with panic and the sound of his heart pounding so loudly in his ear drums, he spotted her in the dark sea. For a moment, he saw her face stretched in fear as she managed to spot him, seeming to try and swim over to him, but another wave came crashing down on them. When he went to look again, all he saw was her arm, sinking. Eyes stretched in terror, he stretched his arms and tried to swim over to her, as fast as his little body could. If only if he was bigger like Erik, if only he could be faster and stronger... If he could swim as powerful as sea serpent in the stories. He could save her. He had to save her. Please, let him safe her! Then, everything in his vision went black, and he felt his body sink into the cold water's embrace. ---- It was cold.... Wet.... Dark... He was freezing. Opening his emerald eyes slowly, Karn blinked as he felt the cool sand of the beach. Slowly sitting up, he coughed. Some water coming out, along with a red sticky liquid. Touching his lips with his index and middle fingers, he drew his fingers back to see hem covered in red. Did he hit his lip? Looking around, he saw his home not too far off, before he fully stood and started calling as he remembered what happened. "...Mom? Mom?! Where are you?! Mooooom?!" The young boy called and screamed, running along the beach and searching for her. But there were no signs. Soft choking sobs came from the young boy, salty tears dripping from his eyes and down his cheeks. "M-Mommy?! Please.... Answer me Mommy... I'm sorry I won't do anything bad again, I promise... So please... Mommy... Come home... I'll hug and kiss you so much, I don't care what they say, as long as Mommy comes back to me... Please!" The young boy screamed and sobbed, pleading to anyone, anything to bring his mother back. But she never did. ---- The house had grown dark, so dark and cold over the few days. It was like after she died, the light and warmth went with her. She was the one who made this house happy. But now she was gone, and so was the happiness. Karn walked down the hall to his parents room, looking at the door with sad emerald eyes before reaching up to grab the doorknob and gingerly open the wooden door. It stunk of alcohol... Peeking inside, he saw a man with a shaggy ginger beard and hair sitting on the large fluffy white bed. Tired blue eyes staring down at his brown shoes on his feet. "...Daddy? I brought you lunch..." Karn said softly, slowly entering with a sandwich he had made and set it beside his father. Receiving no answer, the boy stared up at home softly, before gently reaching to touch his arm. "D-Daddy, you need to eat..." the little boy managed to squeak out as he gently touched his father'a arm. As he did though, his father smacked the small hand away and angrily glared at the boy. "Don't touch me!" His father shouted angrily, making Karn shrink back in fear and surprise. The man trembled as he stared at the young blonde boy, his face softening one moment before hardening in utter rage the next. As if conflicted. With a snarl, the man stuttered into a standing position and his large hand grabbed the boy by the throat and lifted him up. "It's not fair... You look just like her.. But you killed her... Drowning is one of the worse ways to die. It's slow, and painful ... How would you feel if it was you? You let her die alone... She's gone... Gone.. Why didn't you be with her? She's all alone now. How could you?" the man slurred, his words a mess and incoherent. Karn gasped for air as his hands tried to pry his fathers fingers away, his legs kicking slightly. "I-I'm sorry Daddy! I-I'm sorry she's gone!" The boy sobbed as he struggled. "Sorry.. You're sorry? You will be." Came a soft, almost gentle voice from the man as he carried the boy to the bathroom. Shoving the boy down in the tub, face facing upward as the father grabbed a grey washcloth and shoved it into the boy's face before turning on the faucet right above the boy. Karn felt cold water smash against his covered face, the washcloth soaking up as much as if could, making it harder to breathe. Choking, Karn struggled and gasped for air, trying to pry away from his father and the washcloth. But no matter how hard he tried, he just wasn't strong enough. And a part of him felt like he deserved this..
~~Present Day~~
Blinking softly at the memories, he shook his head to be rid of them before looking up from the fire and glancing to Penny again. Forcing another smile as he thought about what to say. "...My mom drowned when a storm hit when me and her were fishing. Guess that sort of haunted me after all these years. Father didn't take the incident very well either.. He punished me a lot for it. So I would feel the pain she probably went through." he answered softly as he turned to look at the fire again. He wasn't shy about sharing his past, it was in the past after and he didn't keep secrets. It's just usually such topics were uncomfortable for most people. Though he also knew there were others with much more worse pasts, so why should he feel special? He shouldn't. He was sure the Phoenix Wing members probably didn't have easy lives. Wizards tended to have poor pasts. Karn chuckled softly and smiled to her. "I know, it's a silly fear. After all, real Wizards shouldn't be afraid of water. But I can't help it. I do try to train to get over he fear. Got a little improvement with Ru. I'm calmer in the water as long someone is there at least." he said with a soft mile.

Penny
Penny could see all the pain, the fear, the hurt that seemed to cross over Karn's face, and she wished she hadn't asked. Anger flashed, bright and hot, as he said his father punished him, for his mothers death. And the words just came out. "your father punished you, a child, for something you couldn't control? Do you have clairevoyant powers we don't know about? Were you able to predict her death? That's disgusting. Your father should have been protectinf you, not punishing you!" [i]throttle it back, Penny.[i] but she just couldn't. A parent shouldnt punish a child, they should protect them. For the few short years before they went to face the world themselves, they should protect them.'and yet she knew all too often, that that wasn't true. "everyone fears something, Karn" her voice was softer now, almost childlike, "if we didn't, we wouldn't be human. We wouldn't be able to find the strength to protect those we care about. We wouldn't be able to...become stronger. Fear is healthy, but when you let it take over your life, fear can be a hinderance. You can't let it take over your life Karn, your mother wouldn't have wanted that. Her thoughts would have been to get to you, to get you out. We all have a time, Karn. If I can go down trying to protect someone I love, like your mother, I think I could die happy, knowing that they survived" her voice grew softer, quieter, as she spoke, and her face went blank of emotion, as she turned to stare into the fire.
Sasha
Sasha jumped up, having forgotten about the tea "oh! Sorry, I'll get it right now!" she said, boiling the water again and making the tea, she spoke as she worked "I chose a colour that meant something to me. Blue, because that was my mothers eye color. My little brothers. Everyday it reminds me of them, and I'm thankful for that" Sasha shifted, and showed her guild mark, on her right arm, near the shoulder, the sleeve deliberately torn there to show it. "I thought about getting it over my heart, but, wel..." she trailed off, blushing, and focusing on the tea, setting cups down

Karn blinked softly as Penny shouted angrily about his father, his emerald eyes watching the angry expression on the fire wizards face before soon calming down a little before going blank from emotion as she looked to the fire. The blonde boy smiled softly before he turned to look at the flames. "I know I need to not let it control me like that. It's dangerous for someone like me who loses it like that. Dangerous for others even. It just, may take me a bit. I made her go out there, there is no denying that... And even though I probably should hate my father, I don't. I still love him. He was a good man. Just sometimes, people lose themselves when they lose someone that important. So if it takes my family thinking I am dead for them to recover, then that's fine. I'll watch from afar. And gain new friends for me to care about and protect the best of my ability." he smiled warmly. He wasn't sure what he was getting himself into with being in this guild, but he would never know if he doesn't give it a chance. Even just for a little bit, he wanted to spend his last moments with people who were a little like him. Wizards. And a family of them.

Trinity had been watching the fight closely from above, an Ice Arrow notched in her bow. She takes a deep breath, relaxing her muscles and waiting. She would know when the moment was coming. Just the way she'd been taught. It was no more than a small voice in her head that triggered it, when she began to take aim. She lifted her bow, aimed, and drew her arrow taught. She would know the moment when she saw it... She looses the arrow when the moment feels right, just as Maddox kicks for the lizard's chin. The arrow splits as it leaves her bow, forming two Ice Arrows, and she aimed to hit the foe while he was stunned from the kick.

Lazarus chuckled a little. "White is holy. I guess holy isn't everyone's thing." He ate a chip, before sitting on a stool, rubbing the back of his head. "jeez. The rest of them surely should be finishing things up by now." he punched his palm. "They're taking so long, because their strongest team isn't their!" He said cockily. He continued with the little girl. "I think purple would suit you, little one. Cute, but effective." He grinned. "You have to tell me more about your magic, do the souls you call upon have memory of their past life? Or are they just puppets?" His question sounded horrible, but he just had to know.

Penny sighed softly, staring into the flames. The warmth of them, the light was a constant reassurance to her. "it's still not your fault, Karn. And your father should never have blamed you, nor punished you for it. In anycase, the guild will accept you simply for you. It's a good guild" she said softly, moving a few fingers, and watching the flames dance and flicker in response.

"I knew I felt magic here," a voice came from the door-less doorway. The mysterious young woman from before, the very same one that damaged the Hall, was standing like a silhouette in the middle of the entrance. She took a few steps forward and pulled her hood back on her cloak, revealing her face for the four standing in the wrecked room. She brought a hand out from under her purple cloak, notably covered in golden grieves, and brought it to her chin."Either not everyone is here or this Phoenix Tail is a lot smaller than I imagined..." she mumbled to herself, mistaking the guild's name. After her conjecture, she pointed to Lazarus, being he looked the eldest, and began walking forward again. "White guy. Where is the rest of your guild?"

Grane
Location: Magic Council's Aquifer Cavern He watched as Maddox teleport again, he sensed Maddox appear behind. Before Grane could turn around, Maddox was appeared infront of him again with a strange stance strange light on his feet. Maddox feet pointed towards Grane enough that the light blinded his vision long enough to get hit by the attack on his face and stepping back to only get attacked by the swords from earlier and what felt like arrows freezing him. All three attack could show some noticeable damage to where they hit, especially the serious look on Grane face. "Enough of this!" Grane's flame sword dispersed from his hand as he retracted his damaged wings back into his body and tried to shrug off the feeling of damage from the blast left on him. He nailed a punch into the ground as a fast continuous blue ring of fire expanded around the floor away from him and traveled across the cavern. As it spread, the flames rose from the ground and shot through the air in an attempt to catch Maddox from where ever he planned to teleport. "If this duel won't be respected, then I'll find who tried to interrupt and have them feel the burn of what they done." He said as his fire tried to find both of its foes.

Amelia took a second to think of a reply to Lazarus' question about the souls she recruited but before she could reply a young woman appeared, talking about the guild. Thankful she had hidden her wings again, Amelia remained silent and just sipped her tea, watching apprehensively. Joshua watched the girl while drinking his tea, listening to her words carefully. When she asked Lazarus where everyone was, he decided to answer instead. "They're out and about." He said, giving her a slightly evasive answer." By the way, if you want Phoenix Tail, you're in the wrong town. I heard such a guild existed about five towns over in the east. Now, if you want Phoenix Wing, you're in the right place. Who are ya and what do ya want?" Sure he could've been nicer but... well that just wasn't his style.

Lazarus raised a hand to tell Joshua to be quiet. "Be at ease. We aren't in a position to not be cautious." He stepped forward, magic now recovered. He release a fair amount of magical power to show that he was more than a worthy opponent to most, were she thinking about trying anything funny. There was something off about this woman. He stuttered a little after thinking. Angrily, he spoke. "You did this to our guild.... didn't you?.." He looked up from the ground into her eyes. It had to have been her, she would have His fist filled with white aura. "You have 10 seconds to state your business here. Before I tear you limb from limb." He was outraged anyone would dare to touch his guild. His family. Of course he couldn't be certain it was her, but he was almost 100% sure. His voice changed to an even darker tone. "Speak up..." He grunted. "The rest of the guild is here. But us 4 will not hesitate to bring you down if you try anything funny." He glared. He had no idea who the woman was. She could be from the council for all he they knew.

Maddox
Maddox, still on his hands, backflipped away from Grane right after kicking him in the face. Who was that? he thought, looking up in the general direction the arrows came from. Was that Sasha? No way. Regardless, this is going to become more difficult... Sure enough, his prediction was right as Grane shouted in a rage and blue fire began expanding from him, encompassing the cavern floor around him and expanding out in all directions. "Shit." He jumped backwards, narrowly avoiding a plume of flame, before backflipping a second time. As he was spinning through the air away from the fire chasing him, he held his hand out in Grane's direction. Or rather, just above him. A solid red wall of energy appeared several meters above him, parallel to the ground. Maddox made one last jump away from the fire, which would be his last anyways as he had fast approached the cavern wall, before vanishing mid-leap. He appeared above Grane, upside-down and just underneath the Divine Shield he created. He planted his feet firmly against the small wall of light, his feet notably glowing again though not blindingly so. As well, his right hand was glowing. "Sorry but the reason I had us change venue..." Maddox spoke, pushing off the red wall with astonishing speed. He came down towards Grane, slamming his arm forward in an attempt to hit the man in his face. "Was to protect my guildmates."
Beatrix
The young woman first looked confused, then a smirk formed on her face. "You think I was the one to trash this place?" she said, pointing at herself. A laugh escaped her as her hand retreated back under her cloak. "Please. If it was me, this whole place would be torn down. Besides, not like it's that impressive anyways." The lie came off her lips flawlessly. She took a look around, before settling her eyes on Lazarus again. "You lie." The grin on her face was gone now, being replaced by an irritated scowl. "It is only you four. I want to see the entire guild, now tell me where everyone is. Or when they'll get back. Or really, if you want, you can try to... bring me down but you'd only be entering a world of pain. Wouldn't take much effort to really wreck this building. Make it look like the trash that occupies it." Her eyes looked over at the girl sitting at the bar. She examined the girl for a moment before chuckling and facing the adults again. "Oh, my apologies. Where are my manners?" She put her hand over her chest and gave a polite bow. "I never introduced myself. You can call me Ma'am, Miss, or My Lady. Any of those works." She stood upright again, a devilish grin on her face. "I just want to see what this... Phoenix Wing guild is like. Not shaping up to be much so far, in all honesty. That's why I want to see who your strongest is."

Karn smiled to the fire wizard and slowly gave a nod. "I'm glad, I'm looking foreword to it. Ya know, after everyone is done destroying this entire building and all. And when we can feel our legs again. That might help a little." he joked cheerfully as he smiled happily, glancing to the others in the room. Poking his clothing again, seeing they were finally dry, he took off the jacket, uncaring his smooth soft skin was bare, before picking up his shirt and slipping it on along with his pants. Examining his ragged black tattered short sleeve jacket, he slipped it on before wrapping his beige scarf around his neck, hiding the silver necklace that rested there.

Sasha
Sasha stared at this woman, who really had no right coming in here and demanding that they call her Ma'am, miss or my lady. She stepped out from behind the bar and said "Sorry, I reserve those titles for people who deserve it, and for people I respect, but I'm happy to call you weirdo, or strange. It's really none of your business where the rest of our guild is, and nor is it any of you business to know when they will be back. As you haven't stated what you want with Phoenix Wing, I suggest you do so, or leave" The young mage didn't take her eyes off of the woman, and was alert for any signs of magic. She stepped up beside Lazarus and continued, "Beside the fact that you are outnumbered, I won't let anyone harm any of my friends, my guild mates, and I certainly won't let some uppity b-woman come in here and act like you have without a good enough reason" She looked about, then back to the woman, "I think you did do this, and I think the alarms and protective charms prevented you from doing more" She gave a smirk to the woman, moving slightly, crossing her arms over her chest.
Penny
Penny nodded, and as Karn dressed, she dismissed the flames, rising with soreness, but feeling better herself, "We should see if anyone needs our help" She said, looking over to Mayt, to Master Jamie, and just generally around the room. "This building will never be the same again" she said with a laugh

Joshua fell silent when signaled but smirked at how easily Lazarus got angry and more so at how quickly Sasha got angry as well. With a sigh, he got up. "Frankly girly, the only title you're deserving of right now is, quite frankly, bitch." He said calmly a small, yet mocking smile on his face. Turning back to Sasha and Lazarus, he gave them a relaxed yet somehow serious smile." If this child does decide to throw a tantrum, at least allow me to help or at least handle it. If it seems like she might actually be too much trouble for me, feel free to step in. Will that be a problem?" Amelia just watched apprehensively, sipping her tea and munching on one of the few remaining fries.

After she had shot her arrows, Trinity took a moment to touch the bottoms of her feet with two fingers, taking care to touch where she most distributes her weight. She expected a counter attack. A volley of flame was sent to seek her, and she knew her preparations were not wasted. She had placed Energy Make on her feet, to enhance her friction, and had made one more Ice Arrow, kept in her quiver. It didn't seem like they knew where she was, quite yet. She fires a few normal arrows, using Trick Shot to make them come at Grane from several angles, and not one single trajectory. She didn't doubt it would be long before she was found, anyway. Certainly if she stayed in one place, so Trinity leaped in through the hole in the floor, using her Ice Arrow to make a platform to land on. As she fell, she fired off Fire Arrows on several trajectories around the room, making them shoot wide before they'd come for Grane. When she landed, the Energy Make traction pads she made for her feet allow her to maneuver, and she used a small Energy Make defensive shield to steady the platform. She jumped off the platform to an outcropping of rock, from the water, where she would hide for a moment. If she could keep this guy confused on where she was, she could keep pelting him without having to be on the defensive constantly.

Lazarus released his magic from his hands. "She won't do anything. If she wanted to, foolish as it may be, she'd have done something already." He crossed his arms taking a step back. "I'll ask again, what is you're business here? spit it out." He grunted. He admired Joshua for a moment. "We would still be weary of her Joshua, you never face an opponent you know nothing about and have the upper hand..." He calmly uttered.

"My business?" the woman questioned sarcastically before chuckling. A surprisingly evil grin formed on her face. "That's right. I imagine you wouldn't know about it, or if you did it probably wouldn't matter too much. But try to think for a moment... What would a stranger showing up at a Dark Guild be intending to do?" She stood upright, looking over at Amelia. "That's right, sweetie. I've heard some rumors and even seen for myself. Perhaps Phoenix Wing itself isn't a Dark Guild..." Now her eyes shifted towards the adults. "But what else would you call a guild that has Dark Mages in it's midst?" She paused a moment to let that sink in before approaching one of the tables that wasn't destroyed and sitting in an adjacent chair. "I came here looking for such villains. I'm going to guess you all didn't know about this beforehand... and I thought guilds were supposed to be a place of friendship and all that crap." She lifted one of her hands up toward her neck, un-buttoning her purple cloak and hanging it across the back of the chair. Her rather revealing attire was now exposed. "You're probably going to give me the whole 'you must be mistaken because blah blah blah' but you probably don't have any evidence more concrete than what I've seen with my own eyes." Her expression was dead serious now as she looked over at the group. "So you see... I'm here to kill a few Dark Mages you've been harboring." Her eyes widened suddenly as if she had an epiphany. "Wait a minute..." She narrowed her eyes as she thought. "Maybe... you guys didn't even know about that? Ah, yes. It's possible you didn't even know about your Dark Mages. I'd believe that seeing how stupid and..." She glared specifically at Lazarus now. "Trusting... you are. If that's the case I can probably tell you the traitors among you. But only if you ask nicely."
