Well, I mean the solution to that would've been a giant collab, which I have no problem with- but the logistics of doing so may be a bit more... difficult. You are correct in that plenty of characters would've been able to interject, but then it'd be a rather long process to get the 3ish minutes that just took place happen. I'd write a short bit, wait 3-4 days for everyone who wanted to respond to respond, write the next short bit, and wait for another 3-4 days, and so on and so forth. .... Also, I kinda just got on a roll while writing, so it sort of just happened. .... I do realize that this 'cutscene' sort of played out very similarly to an old school j-rpg, and sometimes I like dramatical cliches a lot more than I should. With that being said, What would you suggest I do? Also- the outcome would likely not have changed too-too much. If Kuro/Eli/Alan/Anyone with a gun had fired at him before he finished talking, his spirit would've appeared earlier and protected him.

I'll acknowledge the difficulties inherent in making a collab between six posters - even as few as three can be hard to work around. As I said though - I'll attempt to work with the current post regardless. I just wanted to make note of the issue so that in the future, perhaps we can attempt a different approach. In the context of this situation, what I might have done would be to have Pierce blurt out to the entire Bar that the men are Varisie infiltrators, and for Walkins to summon his spirit/draw his weapons and start firing without saying anything (make some token hostile gesture simply to instigate the 'Boss Fight.' >.>) - leave the reality of whether he actually is an Inquisitor for the posters to ponder over and confirm afterwards. Meanwhile, have the four flunkies grab their weapons and start to get out of their seats. While Inquisitors from the church of Aer are (I presume) nominally allowed to come and go as they please, considering that the Western City-States are in a pitched war with Varisie, the knowledge of their nationality alone - combined with their openly worn weapons - is reason enough to attempt to apprehend them. All of that would happen within just a few instants and still tells us everything we need to know - our characters could, immediately upon hearing the warning, either summon their own spirits, draw their own weapons, preemptively dodged out of the way, all that jazz, and we have a pitched barroom fight scene. It doesn't preclude any other characters from acting (the only event that could have been interrupted would be Pierce's outburst), and it doesn't preclude Walkins and his men from acting either (since they can use that post to start moving). If you're concerned about getting character growth out of Walkins, I would suggest not putting him in the middle of a bar, surrounded and outnumbered by guild regulars? :P

Only Walkins is from Varisie, the rest are cheap thugs pulled off the streets- which is why they're likely shitting themselves right now. And Walkins isn't really a token boss. We'll quite literally be seeing a lot more of him. Pierce didn't want to speak up because stealth- or at least attempted stealth. Anyway, I will keep those suggestions and ideas in mind next time I prepare to write a major plot point.

Phew. Finally posted. Sorry for taking so long, I was just utterly flummoxed about what Kuro could have possibly done. Decided to start showing off his rampant uncontrolled paranoia tactical savvy until he can actually poke his head up without it being caught in crossfire. No problem, though next time please ask me or use an if/then statement. It works out better in a rp as it allows me to react according to character especially if you can't contact me. Though I think in this case, she might follow him.

Reading your post Terminal, I think I know why we got confused about Pierce grabbing Eli's rifle. I was under the impression that Eli had just set his rifle on the table, so I used that.

Alright! Posted! Seems I found a good pace for it too. I read up on everybody's posts, but in case I missed some details, just let me know. Hopefully I didn't ruffle too many feathers. Also, I found another picture (from a book series I'm currently reading actually) of a character that suits Ryza's appearance much better than the current one. So I'm gonna change it to the new and improved one(s).

There could be more waiting outside the back entrance - Kuro even said as much - but the Guild Plaza is likely going to abuzz with Guildmembers this time of the day. Inquisitors clumped up by the Pub entrance would likely draw undue attention. I suppose he could still try and run out. I had assumed somebody would come to Ryza's aid before he had a chance. It does seem strange that he would be so confident walking in only to then bravely turn around and run in the opposite direction. Something tells me he has something up his sleeve that will allow him to keep fighting.

The effects will be based in science, the methods to achieve them, less so.
