Kurano Tanaka

Kurano stood idly by, watching as Garsin fiddled with the locker for a bit, wondering what his weapons would be. After a few minutes of Garsin seemingly "sizing" him up against the weapons, and teasing him with an overly large ax, Kurano felt Minami tug against his pants tighter once she saw it, Garsin pulled out a frightening pair of revolvers. "I've never held a gun in my life," Kurano commented, worried he could accidentally set them off into his foot. The grenades didn't reassure him either. Kurano worriedly watched to see what else the man was going to give him, but let out a sigh when it looked like a sort of multi-purpose sword. "I'll try my hardest not to break them, unless they're made of something cheap and flimsy," Kurano replied.

Kurano took a good look at the sheathe, and the gun holster, not quite sure how to put the latter on. "I get that the sword goes on like a backpack of sorts, but I don't really understand the guns. Do I need a belt for them?" He questioned, dangling it around carefully.

Minami Shiroka

Minami silently ooh'd and ah'd at the different pointy things she saw in the weapon racks. The bigger things excited her for a strange reason, which caused her to grab on tighter to Kurano. One thing that caught her the most was the ax. It glistened to her more than anything else she saw, and her eyes blew up when she saw them. Almost tempted to reach out and grab it, she restrained herself, knowing that the others would get mad. In her mind she pouted, like a spoiled child who couldn't get what she wanted.

"I've never held a gun in my life," Kurano commented

"Well, I'd say it's about time to change that," Garsin replied. He pulled out a belt with bullets lining it just like what a cowboy would use in the old days. this one, however, also had a pouch that had some of the bullets ready to reload on a few speed loaders.(example:
)

"Put this belt on like a regular belt, but loop that holster onto your back as well. When you need them, you can just draw them from behind you," he demonstrated by acting as if he was drawing the gun and aiming himself. "It won't be you that breaks them, trust me. if anything, it will be what you are shooting at."

Garsin showed him how to load and shoot the large revolvers by walking him through it with Garsin using one revolver and Kurano with the other. "Now, being that you haven't shot before, I have to warn you. To you, this thing is going to kick like hell, so be sure you have a firm grip on it when you shoot, otherwise you are going to drop it or its going to smack you in the face.

"Alright, I want you to practice hitting this target." He walked up to a line in the room that marked off where the targets would pop up. He stepped on a panel and on the other side of the long room a target popped up. He then raised the gun and blasted off all six rounds in the target's head. "And the pièce de résistance." He popped a small grenade into the lower barrel and switched the fire over to the small launcher with a small safety that was in finger's reach. He then aimed again and fired. There was a 'thoom' sound followed by a loud explosion for when the grenade hit its mark leaving not much left of the virtual target. He then casually turned around and handed the revolver over to Kurano. "For now, I just want you to practice with one revolver. get to know it like an extension of yourself. be able to work it, load it, and clean it without even looking."

Kurano listened intently to Garsin's instruction, putting on the belt with the holster. He especially made note of keeping a good grip on the gun, and the reloading. As he followed Garsin over to the target, Kurano felt the weight of the gun in his hands and tried to appropriate himself to it. Without notice while Kurano was fiddling with the revolver, Garsin started to shoot off the rounds he had, each one hitting the target somewhere in the head. Kurano looked in awe for a moment before a near deafening explosion came from where the target had once stood.

Kurano politely took his revolver back from Garsin, nodding after being given instruction to only practice with one. Kurano unlocked the cylinder, and slid it out of place, revealing the casings that were still left over from the bullets. Each of them easily slid out, falling onto the floor. Quickly, Kurano opened up the pouch on his side and grabbed one of the speed loaders. Fiddling with it at first, Kurano then managed to line up the bullets with the holes in the cylinder causing the bullets to then slide into the slots. Almost forgetting, he slid the cylinder back into place.

Taking a deep breath, Kurano looked over to the target which re-materialized and took aim. He steadied his breathing, and closed one of his eyes, looking straight down the sights and onto the targets head. Slowly, his finger pulled back on the trigger until his arm shot up, and the bullet whizzed through the air. The recoil was tremendous, Kurano had nearly let go of the revolver. Quickly, he checked the target, which didn't have a single sign of damage. "What gives?" He asked. "I aimed for the things' head," he said, checking to see if the gun didn't jam up. Kurano desperately looked to see where the bullet had actually went, until checking the ceiling and seeing that the bullet had gone behind the target up on the ceiling. "I guess I can't really handle this gun too well. I'll aim lower next time," he said while scratching the back of his head.

"Nope, you'll aim for the same spot," Garsin quickly responded. "No sense on building bad habits. Now you know how it will kick so you are ready for that...," he scratched his head thinking about Kurano's aim. "It could have been that when you pulled the trigger you could have accidentally pulled up and the shot went ascew. Try again, but this time pull the trigger quickly and decisivley."

Kurano Tanaka

"Hm, alright," Kurano responded, taking everything Garsin said into account, and strengthening his grip on the revolver. Closing one eye again, and focusing on the target. Quickly and decisively. Don't think too much. Kurano squeezed the trigger, and the gun let out a bang. Lowering the revolver, he could see that he made a direct hit to the left side of the target's face. Containing himself, Kurano looked to Garsin for a brief moment before returning to fire at the target.

Soon, the remaining 4 rounds made their way into the target, as Kurano started to reload them once again, he remembered about the grenade launcher. Slightly hesitant, he pulled one of the grenades out of the pouch and stuck it into the lower barrel on the revolver, then switching the firing mode to the grenade launcher. Aiming directly towards the target again, Kurano squeezed the trigger, and saw as the small round zoomed forward letting loose an explosion that destroyed the target. Kurano smiled a bit, not that he wanted to kill things, but merely from learning a new skill.

"Haha! Thataboy!" Garsin exclaimed giving Kurano a congratulatory slap on the back, "In time, you will be an expert shot, and by the looks of it, not much time at all!" He then turned to the small girl and brought his hand to his chin in a thoughtful manner.

"Well, as much as I hate the idea of you fighting, I still should give you something to defend yourself with should an emergency arise." He started to make his way to the locker again. "The creatures track you by your power, so you never know when something may occur, even in some of the unprotected areas in this 'research' facility that don't block your powers." He then opened the locker to search for some small weapon she may be able to use that was simple enough not to hurt herself with. "maybe some sort of stun device," he muttered as he paced through the arsenal again.

Kurano Tanaka
Kurano couldn't help but smirk as Garsin congratulated him. He quickly reloaded the revolver and stuck it in the holster on his back. Kurano then went to inspect the sword he received a little bit closer to familiarize himself with it.

Minami Shiroka
Minami smiled as she was finally getting attention from Garsin. Minami stood close to him, not really listening to what he was saying, as she was looking for the weapon that caught her eye earlier. Her eyes darted about when Garsin opened the locker again. It took her a moment, but she spotted it. "This one, this one!" she said frantically, reaching for the Ax that she was too short to reach. Minami looked to Garsin with begging eyes, and a whimper. "Please Mr. Garsin, can I have this big pointy one?" She asked politely.

"Ohoho no, little lady, not that one," he said as he kept looking through the armory. "You would have to develop the forth dimensional ability of energy for that one, which if I saw your record correctly, you don't have. However, you being a child and already having an ability, you should be able to develop your powers faster, albeit not as refined as what they'd be as an adult. Still, once you receive the energy power, even as a child, you should then theoretically be able to use this. For now try this," he finished as he handed her a different weapon.

he took this long war club down and handed it to her
(they are called tetsubo war clubs, he handed her the two handed one on the bottom)

"You hit something with that, and not only will it deal a devastating blow, those metal nubs on there will shock and stun your target, if you have a fresh electro cell in there. You may have to carry a few cells with you. the cells go in the bottom of the handle."

<Audrey>:
Dr. Fukui ignored the random shot his new assistant had set off, generally used to it himself. Fukui was busy sitting behind his desk, typing in a few things here and there, with a loud click of every virtual key he pressed on his laser-grid keyboard on the desk. Eventually he stopped, and a hole opened up on the right with a piece of paper coming out of it, he snatched it up quickly as the paper-vator retracted again and closed behind itself. He quickly scanned it, then folded it up and hid it on a pocket on his person before radioing the other's with his own earpiece.

<Garsin>:
"Garsin, come in. Any reports on their progress?" Fukui asked, waiting for a response. Garsin did not hear this, however, as his earpiece was never turned on by him. "Garsin, your're not responding." he spoke again, folding his arms as he waited once more. He pulled off his earpiece and adjusted the volume, but it was already set correctly. "GARSIN!" he yelled, but no response still. He sighed, walking to the door to his office, opening the door and waving Audrey in. "Come on Audrey, they're not responding." he said, stepping back into the office and pushing a button on the wall to open the elevator.

<Everyone>:
Fukui exited the elevator into the viewing room, peering into the training room through the two-way glass. He saw Garsin handing Minami a big two-handed club, with shocking spikes on it. He stepped up to the glass, and tapped on it. He pulled off his own ear piece and pointed at it. Fukui quickly put his earpiece back on, and held his hand up to the glass, tapping two fingers together and pulling away in a diagonal. A screen appeared on his end, where he pushed a button that turned on his mic to transmit into the room. "Your piece, Garsin. Turn it on!" he said as he stood there tapping his feet.

"I would like to have known Mr. Tanaka and Ms. Shiroka had joined us, I would have brought their gear. But I see you have brought it upon yourself to deal with it... I guess I shall let it slide." he spoke. "Not my first choice, of course..." he grunted at what he thought was poor weapon choice. "Well then-" he started, but was cut off by sirens going off suddenly, and red lights flashing on. Dr. Fukui held a hand up to his ear, letting the screen in front of him disappear as he listened. He nodded, before letting go and enabling his speech back to the room down below.

The lights and siren stopped before Fukui spoke, "We have an attack at Waseda University. It's rated Class A, and you're the only team already suited up and ready to go." Fukui said, turning to Audrey at this point. "I'm going to send you in as well, to gain some important information. I've read your file, and you have the Fourth Dimension Sense of Sight, so your'll be able to know what to look for. I have a device back in my office I'm going to give to you, and your'll use it to record as much as you can about the monster that's attacking." he said, grabbing you by the shoulder as he talked. "Do you think you can handle it? Okay, good." he asked, then acknowledged before you could even think about it.

Dr. Fukui turned back towards the window, "Good luck team." before going to the elevator and motioning Audrey to follow once again. Back in the lab, he grabbed another earpiece from the shelf of items, and handed it to her. He also picked up a cube, touched a button on the side of it which called up a holographic screen, then followed a series of buttons until he found what he was looking for. He pushed it, and the top of the cube opened up, letting him reach in to pull out the object. "This here will record what we need. Just look for vital locations... places your team may use against it. Every other bit of information will gather itself as long as you're close enough." he said, pushing a button on the gun-like object. "Now hurry, and catch up with the others in the short-range Deploy Entrance."

"Alright sir," Audrey said as Dr. Fukui came out of his office, noting his apparent annoyance. She had a feeling that the others had left their communicators off on purpose to avoid him. She followed into Fukui's office into the elevator. Soon they were at the training area, in a room with big glass windows looking into the training rooms. Through it Audrey saw all of the others working with weapons and armor, including a young girl. What is a little kid doing here?, she thought, tuning out Fukui's muttered complaints at Garsin.

Audrey jumped at the sudden alarms and angry red lights. She quickly glanced over at Fukui, having no idea what was going on or what the sirens meant. It was clearly nothing good. Another attack? "Uh, yes sir," she said in reply to Fukui, though he had already turned back to the others. A feeling of dread rose in her stomach at actually having to go out and encounter one of these creatures. After he spoke she followed him back to the lab, trying to keep up. Back at the lab she took the earpiece and device. "Okay," she replied, quickly memorizing what she was supposed to do, still unsure of this. From what she heard, the monsters were destructive enough to completely destroy buildings. What if one of them got hurt? And if it came down to it, would she be able to fight to protect herself or anyone else?

She shook her head and tried to push the thought out of her mind. Audrey quickly left the lab and ran towards the deployment area, hands shaking.

Garsin heartily laughed off the blunder with the radios as he turned his on. "Ok, no wonder you weren't answering." He checked his gear and started releasing the heavy weights off of his armor, not letting them just fall to the ground so that they didn't damage the floor. "Alright everybody, make sure you have everything and then follow me over to the short range deployment center." He then turned to the little girl, "All right half-pint. You are gonna have to stay here. Hold down the fort while we are gone, alright?"

Kurano Tanaka

Kurano was about to start on another target before hearing that scientist's annoying voice again. Chastising the weapons that he and Minami had didn't change that train of thought for him either. Sirens blared and lights went off, Kurano could see Minami dropping the weapon she was just given and covering her ears for a bit. Kurano simply stood, slightly annoyed at the noise, yet somehow finding it more tolerable than the scientist.

Kurano listened for the explanation of why the sirens had went off before hearing two words that pierced his ears. Waseda University? His mind instantly turned to his three friends, who were likely all having class now. Kurano put away the gun in his hand, and looked to Garsin, who had given orders to follow him into a 'short range deployment center.' Kurano nodded, and was ready to follow, before hearing Garsin speak to Minami.

Minami Shiroka

"Stay?" Minami responded with her head cocked to the side. "Then why'd you give me this? I thought I was fighting too, Mr. Garsin! Let me whack at some big ugly monster guys!" She said futilely before giving in. "Fine. I'll stay here then." She crossed her arms and pouted again, picking up her weapon from the floor. "But, um, make sure you don't get hurt, okay? Pinky promise?" She said, holding her pinky out innocently towards the man that to her looked like a giant. "Hmm?" Kurano said. "Yet before you were so adamant on fighting with us. What's changed your mind?" He asked her. "Umm, I know you're just going to be mad at me if I go, and I don't want you to be mad and ruin your fighting. So I'll just stay here instead. But, I'm going to train so that I'll be big and strong like Mr. Garsin when you get back," she smiled. Kurano chuckled a bit and ruffled her hair. "You've got the heart of an angel Minami. Too bad it's being wasted here," Kurano said, looking ready to go.

[Naoto]
"Well, short training lesson then. I guess they believe learning on the job here." Naoto sighed after everything. He looked at the young girl suspiciously, suddenly having a change of hearts and wanting to stay suddenly after trying to convince us so much before. Garsin was right, though... a girl as young as herself shouldn't be put through this. Heck, if I were that young, I wouldn't want myself put through this. I wouldn't want my sisters put through this.

"By the way, sir Garsin. When will we be allowed to speak to our loved ones outside of the facility? What are the restrictions as to what we can tell them? Is this all... covert... or? I personally haven't heard of any of this. I remember a few mates in the office talking about the ruckus you- I mean us... have caused before... but I never really believed it before yesterday." Naoto asked on his way out the door into the long stretching hallways.

Upon arriving the big blast doors, the first set of doors opened up, revealing the next door behind it, sealed shut and waiting for the current door to close. "No instructions then?" Naoto asked allowed. "First tunnel on the left. It's a little cramped, and still needs repairs like the other tunnels, but a fine bunch of soldiers like yourselves should do fine with it. Oh, and your powers kick in a few feet down the tunnel. Oh, and wait for Audrey." Dr. Fukui announced over the intercoms.

It was amusing to see the giant of a man have to reach down for a pinky swear. Garsin let out a low chuckle as they locked pinkies. "Don't worry, kid, this isn't my first rodeo."

He stood back up when Naoto asked him about contacting loved ones. He started shaking his head again, "Like I told you about them moving here, you would have to take that up with the man in charge. I wouldn't know about any of that." He then moved to the tunnel an looked back at everyone before entering. "Alright then, lets go and come."

{???}
W-what's going on? Where am I? the student said in his head. He held his head tightly, his thoughts feeling like fire to himself. Once he came to his senses, he realized what was going on. A giant fourth dimensional monster was attacking the school! And... he could see it. Most people were running in circles, some towards it... the sorry fools. Other's ran away, just to be caught quickly by smaller monsters.

The monster itself was huge. At least twelve feet tall, at least. It stood quadrupedal, four bulky stubs to hold it's massive spherical body up above the ground. A smaller sphere for a head sat attached to the front, without a neck to turn it... yet somehow it still managed to look upon the destruction with ease. The back was glowing, revealing a massive hole on the top leading directly into the center of the beast. Five grown men could easily fit side-by-side within it. Smaller versions of itself, but built with thinner spikier legs, and a longer torso. They were also about the size of a small child. Their small size didn't stop them from easily pouncing on the frantic students running around. Often those without the fourth dimensional view of sight could see them flicker into existence, just to disappear and reappear on top of them.

One of the small monsters was coming for him now. Stop, wait, wait! Stop! Why are you charging me!? he thought, raising his hands up. The thing lunged, but was shot backwards as a bolt of energy was sent from his hands. The second the impact hit the monster, it was sent on it's back twitching, before dissolving into nothingness. As it died, several others turned to witness the attack, and now prepared themselves for a dangerous opponent. Oh no, this... okay, no, I think I understand now. the man thought as he prepared himself. The three charged him, as he charged up his hands, sending bolts at those who got too close. With each one down, more joined.

<Heros>:
As the blast doors started to close, Audrey jumped in just in time before they were all locked in. The two guards had remained outside the doors, so it was now just the team. "Garsin!" Dr. Fukui's voice rang in Garsin's ear, before it was repeated over some speakers in the dimension-locked room for everyone to hear. "As cheesy as this sounds, this is your first mission. Except Garsin. If you make a mistake, you can expect full punishment once you return. As for the rest of you, you will receive ten percent less punishment. I usually go as low as twenty, but I don't like you bunch. So don't mess this up!" his voice yelled through the room.

The room was slowly allowing fourth dimensional powers as he talked, allowing at least some sort of distraction as they waited for the other door to open. "This is a VIP mission. That means there is someone of particular interest to us in the area. We want the lot of you to bring him or her in to be examined. If he refuses, you have the authority to use force, as long as there is no permanent damage. And no, I don't count broken ribs as permanent damage. Oh yes, and of course there will be the monster to take of too... if you can manage to bring that in for examination. Otherwise, try to minimize damage done to the city. That is all." he said. The re-dimensionization of the room finished well before he finished, but the doors remained shut until he stopped talked, at which point they slammed open. "Oh yeah, take the red tunnel. At the end there will be a ladder to climb up. There's a lever at the top, just turn it and climb up from under the phone, and close it after you're all out. It'll auto lock once it's closed."

"Understood," Garsin radioed back. Unlike before, the usual hearty, jovial personality that seemed to make up Garsin was nowhere to be found. In its stead, he had adorned a more serious and dark expression.

"Alright," he announced as he addressed the group. "Since this is a VIP and execution mission I'm going to have to split us up into twos. Naoto and I are the only ones with sight, so naturally, until the rest of you gain that ability, I am making him second in command. Naoto, I want you and Kassy to search the school for the VIP. Just look for someone unusual and attracting the creatures. Once you acquire the VIP, make your way to the roof and give us support until extraction arrives. Take the east side of the building, we will go around the west to keep attention off of you. Kurano, you are with me. We are gonna take down the main threat and secure the area from as many forth dimensional beings until the area is considered safe and extraction comes."

When they arrived at the destination Garsin raised his hand to the lever and grabbed it and hesitated a moment. He looked back at the other three faces and prayed that he would see them all back at base. "The little ones should have a hard time concealing themselves. They will be visible every now and again...." there was a moment of silence before he nodded, "See you topside."

He then turned the lever and pushed up out of the tunnel. When he climbed out he pulled the heavy rifle from his back and pulled the end of a bullet belt from the permanently attached box magazine on it. He then popped the top of the gun open as he set the belt in and slapped it shut waiting on Kurano to come up. He then pulled back and released the charging handle, loading the heavy weapon with its massive bullets.
