Thanks for the feedback and answering my questions. I am promising you guys that I will get out a post by the end of the weekend. But, I will be busy on the 30th of April as that's the day of my school's prom.

Besides that, I am planning to focus on the social tension in Europe and use it so I feel like that I am doing something other than wasting space that I can bring some shock value to our roleplay. But, I will do other storylines on the side as well so you guys don't get bored.

We should have a Dutch David Bowie, who dresses in drag and claims to be gay for the shock factor. He could ride in on some kind of American civil rights platform and make it hip to be progressive.

That's a good idea, but won't music be different as well? Since we are living in a different timeline where there hasn't been a second world war (yet).

Doesn't have to be in rock and roll, or jazz. Though then it depends on how much of the upper-crust jazz that fled America to Spain has managed to work its way through the rest of Europe.

Music is a bit of a mess in PoW. The problem is that twentieth century music is built heavily on American style. Without the American styles we are used to, what would have been prevelant? Classical and folk music? If we had decided to follow a safe and believable pattern, I suppose you'd have Jazz in the US (or rock if that evolution took place), a sort of mass-market Spanish folk in Spain, and more traditional versions of local music traditions everywhere else.

But Aaron and I jumped the track a bit and imported American styles into our respective countries early on, and that seems to have become a general theme. So now there is a sort of Africanized version of Dixie Land Jazz in Africa and the Mediterranean, Robert Johnson-esque Blues Guitar in China, and a sort of watered down Tommy Dorsey type big band in Spain. Byrd has also referenced some sort of early rock music type thing that seemed an awful lot like Ritchie Valens.

What would that mean for Europe? I dunno. I'm trying to imagine some sort of protest polka. Since we've already established American styles elsewhere, you could use them here, though I'm not sure full-out Bowie stuff would sell yet.

What I want to introduce in the US is something akin to R&B and Soul. Like Vilage said, the most popular music at the moment is that kind of clean rock and roll of Buddy Holly with crooners and big band music in second place. Have Soul music pop up, partially inspired by the innovations taking place in Africa and China, and having black artists and musicians threatening the mostly white entertainers who are on top.

If I had to make any wild guesses I'd have to imagine some sort of new folk-revival stuff. In the same vein as possibly Hedningarna and Percival.





Though these bands wouldn't be doing much of a world tour. Hedningarna for instance is a Finnish folk band and Percival is a Polish band, both would be pulling their themes from the heritage.

You'd also probably have to wash out any rock elements that work their way in.

Although there are jazz clubs in Sevan, the Vegas of Precipice. But it's this weird Russian/African/Middle Eastern mix of young gangsters and sinners looking to have fun.

I've watched that several times a few other clips from the larger documentary.

It's all about a Dutch woman looking to find answers for her uncle's and relative's deaths/disappearances during WW2 when Wehrmacht troops attacked and took away everyone. She confronts former Nazi soldiers and related parties with the physical evidence and asks them what happened. They mostly try to dodge the question.

But the overall perspective from the Germans about why they fought the war is very interesting all the same.
