I'm very much interested and if possible would love to be a minor house/single person if at all possible. Chaos is a ladder and two moons crashing together seems like chaos.

Throwing in my hat to play some Mighty Northmen.

I saw the mention of Werewolves, and I figure the destruction of a moon might have certain effects on, say, a House with a particular "condition" running through their bloodline.

Hey gang, remember when I said we don't have a map? Because now we totally do. Ardacia is close to the planet's south pole and not a lot else, so those of you with swarthy snow-houses should mention being far south, whereas the further north you go, the warmer it gets. Other than that, my skill set ends about here, so any rivers or mountains that need adding will be done in the future.

Other than that, keep up the good work with the sheets, I've seen a lot of good stuff so far. Remember, the deadline to PM me stuff is a week from now on June 10th!

Technically they're all Southmen since even the northernmost tip of Ardacia isn't that close to the equator. If the name is still too weird, I'd recommend emphasizing that they're on either the Western or Eastern ends of the south and that they are referred to accordingly.

Is it ok to make a character sheet? Is an OOC coming up soon?

Georgia is a vast distance from the equator, and I still don't call my friend from Atlanta a Northerner. Perspective is a thing.

Yeah, but you might if America was as close to the north pole as Ardacia is to the south pole. Still, I should clarify Ardacians won't actually all be called Southmen since there won't be any foreigners around to do so. If others speak up and say Ardacia's frozen south and mild north are too weird I'll reverse it though. Not totally married to the idea, just something I wanted to use to deviate a bit from the usual "Frozen North/Exotic South" found in ASOIAF.

So we're in the far southern hemisphere, then. That seems a needless cause of confusion. Almost all of the players are from the Northern Hemisphere, for one, but we're also all inhabitants of Earth, and there isn't any landmass on this planet that becomes cold as you move south. Couldn't we just flip the current map upside down?

South America? Chile, specifically.

Aside from South America? A lot of people forget this, but Southern Chile and Argentina have ski resorts and Antarctic penguins. Also, Australia. Anyway, that's two for Northern Hemisphere Normativity Bullshit Option B. Anybody else wanna weigh in?

EDIT: Macro, who evidently beat me to the punch, gets five imaginary ardacia-bucks to spend as he wishes.

@Macro@DeadBeatWalking There isn't any landmass on this planet that becomes cold as you move south. Cold, as you all know, has a different meaning than 'colder'. 39°C is not cold, but it is colder than 40°C. Similarly, Melbourne is not a cold city, but it is colder than, say, Darwin. Australia becomes colder as you move south—it does not become cold.

As for South America: local temperature variation in Chile and Argentina has a lot less to do with latitude than it does with elevation. Unless the south of Ardacia also happens to be very mountainous, it isn't going to satisfy the "swarthy snow-houses" trope. Punta Arenas, the southern-most city in Chile (and also the world), has only ever gotten as cold as -14.2°C, and the average low in the city's coldest month, July, is -1.1°C. That record low is a single degree lower than the record low of Las Vegas, and that average low is only just barely cold enough for snow to stay on the ground one month out of the year. Not exactly Winterfell.

We should have the north be the cold region for the same reason that we should have north equate to the top of the map rather than the bottom. That is what people are used to, and you seem to have gone against the grain for no practical reason. EDIT: I understand how this could make sense. Ardacia is further south on our fantasy world than South America is on Earth. However, I would still say that the weirdness caused by that really isn't worth the gimmick value.

There's also no landmass on this planet that has dragons, to be fair. If this planet had a different equator and climate anything is possible. It doesn't need to correlate to real world geography; that's just not creative.
