Gem CS: Survivor
Name: Turquoise
Age: 6700 years old
Appearance:
Gem Room Description: Turquoise has a very minimalist room, comprised of a greenish-blue color for the walls. There is simply a 4 small waterfalls on each corner of the room, to which they create gentle streams to the middle. In the middle is a circular pond where the streams meet, and in the middle of that pond is a platform for Turquoise where she can rest and meditate. The door is located on the southern side of the room.
Fusions: None currently. Her fusion dance style is based off of the ribbon dancing, except she'll have a holographic ribbon.
Gem Location: Forehead
Weapon/Powers:
Crossbow: As seen in the picture, her weapon is a crossbow that fires darts of light, similar to Opal’s bow, except not nearly as powerful because she isn’t a fusion. However, she can summon two, one for each hand, and still be accurate.
Shapeshifting: Turquoise is an adept when it comes to shapeshifting, especially when it comes to avian species like the owl. She often shapeshifts to various animals she’s encountered before, and believes it to be fun on occasion. She mainly sticks to birds though, as she uses their forms to travel some distances instead of using warp pads.
Photokinesis: Turquoise can use her gemstone to light up dark places like a flashlight.
Holographic Projection: While not to the extent that Pearl can, Turquoise can project a holographic screen from her gemstone that she uses as a visual aid when showcasing other gems the area she has scouted, or rather, that was its main purpose, but can be used to project other images.
Romantic/Sexual Orientation: She doesn’t care, believing love to be love so long as it is genuine.
Personality:
Turqoise’s are said to be very quick-witted, having a clear mind that is generally used for problem solving. Being scouts, they have Homeworld’s interests in mind when arriving upon new planets, journeying fearlessly onto planets never before scouted by Homeworld in hopes that they can collect enough data to conclude it is suitable for gem production. Thus, Turquoise is very courageous. They have a love for recording new findings on planets, and even more so love the exploration that comes with it.
Turquoise, however, is very protective of other gems as they start to arrive, more willing to allow themselves to be poofed then a higher ranking gem, thus showcasing their loyalty to those they are aligned with. For this particular Turquoise, she was exceptionally loyal to Blue Diamond, believing her to be a just and calm ruler that was perfect for her job.
Turquoise, however, is slightly different than a majority of the others, as she is more intune with her emotions. Thus, she can very easily get attached to a thing or a purpose, and remain loyal to it. It also made her somewhat more prone to relaxing in the environments she was meant to scout for some time. She also seems to like leading a group, and helping any dysfunction that may occur.
Biography: Turquoise was made around 1000 years before the gem war on Earth, belonging to Blue Diamond as one of her many scouts. Turquoise's were some of the original scouts of new planets, meant to research the planet and notify the diamond authority figure they were under if it was suitable for gem production. Thus, they were made to be agile, smart, and quite durable in order to survive various planetary environments.
Turquoise herself had scouted many different planets for Blue Diamond, and she enjoyed every minute of it. From seeing new sights, to knowing that she was helping gemkind grow through her efforts, she always made sure to do her best in surveying planets and accurately describing that information back to Blue Diamond. Her dedication did not go unnoticed by Blue Diamond, and even though she was still relatively a new gem in the gemkind's eyes, she was sent to inspect Earth along with Pink Diamond's own scout to see if it was a suitable gem production planet.
Well, through her discoveries, she notified that it was indeed an amazing place for the gems to colonize, recalling the beauty the place had that a majority of the planets she surveyed didn't have. And so, even if it seemed unorthodox, she requested that she be allowed to stay on Earth during colonization so that she may make sure that she hadn't overlooked any of the planets potential, when in reality she simply wished to travel the Earth before that it would loose it's luster.
It was during these travels that the gem rebellion happened, and she was immediately called into the fight against the rebellion as she had some experience in combat as a scout. It was during her fights that she faced Rose Quartz's army head on. Beforehand, she had thought that these gems were wicked and corrupt, desiring to destroy the diamond authority with no regard for other gem's lives. But... She began to realize throughout the fight, they weren't shattering any of the homeworld gems she herself was a part of. Instead, even though homeworld soldiers were shattering any gems they managed to grasp, the rebels... didn't...
It made her question their motives, how could something said to be so vile and evil do such an act as sparing the enemy they were fighting against? And so, when the army she was fighting far started to lose the battle, Turquoise managed to escape and run away. She was planning on reporting to Blue Diamond to get some answers, but her escape was soon cut short by the crystal gems. Yet, they didn't poof her. They must have seen the fear in her eyes, believing that it was the end for her, but instead they simply questioned why she was here. After all, they were surprised themselves to see a Turquoise fighting among quartz's.
She explained to them her original purpose here, to scout the land and make sure it was suitable for colonization, but then they asked her a question she didn't expect... And it was what were your findings? And as she started to explain what she had seen, she began to understand why they were rebelling. That Homeworld was destroying countless lives for the sake of increasing their Empire, and that the beauty of this planet would soon disappear. Turquoise never got to see what happened to all the planets she managed to inspect... So it was a shock to learn that colonization essentially wiped out the life that made the planets unique and wonderful.
Here she fought back against Homeworld after the revelation she had, wanting to protect the life that existed. She would act as a scout for the rebels, giving them information on Homeworld's movements and positions... But during one of her missions she managed to find herself make a small mistake, one that got her poofed and bubbled. And yet, when she next awoke, she was no longer in a bubble. Instead, she was in some sort of cave, and all traces of gems had vanished.
When she managed to find other Crystal Gems in the desert, she learned that, while Homeworld fled... they used some sort of weapon that corrupted everyone. She was disheartened, but at the same time she was glad. Homeworld had left... or so she thought. And when they continued to come and attempt to shatter the group, Turquoise made a promise that she wouldn't run, but instead stay and fight them away like she had in the war. If they wanted to destroy this planet, they would have to shatter her first. And that is what she has been doing ever since...
