I'm somewhat confused @MissingAxis, is the post a lead in for my character to appear in the system or is my character to already be at the moon base with the heretic lord?

Yes. You'd be showing up in Ua-Menlir's system (two gas giants, largely barren terrestrial world, red giant sun). Sorry for the confusion; the setup overlapped with my setup for duck55223 and I was in a rush, so I decided to shotgun it and merge the two into one blurb.

I am still a bit confused with the scenario. What am I suppossed to do in the system? Is it a assassination or a meeting with the heretic lord? (I wrote my post so it can swing either way) Earlier on in the post there's a disucssion on how to rid the heretic lord and they mention "the xenos" as a solution. Is that in reference to the Tikalli?

I was going to leave the Tikalli's mission up to you. "The xenos" mentioned in the section of the post directed at CommodoreRobot isn't relevant to the Tikalli.
