Ebony is a short girl, standing at just five feet, three inches tall. She has acne-free, caramel-colored skin and straight, perfectly white teeth. She is rarely seen without a smile. Her natural brown hair, when straightened, falls to the top of her waist. When curly, however, it goes a little over shoulder length, neatly coiffuring to reveal a heart shaped face. In a way this made her more beautiful, as the deep brown hair compliments her almond shaped eyes which are of a similar shade. Her eyes are without doubt the most captivating aspect of her appearance, reflecting a look of wisdom far beyond her age that could not help but draw people in. There are a few freckles spread charmingly across her cheeks and forehead, which she tends to cover up with foundation. Like her mother, she has a curvy figure, and weighs in at about a hundred and sixty pounds. She speaks with a soft New York accent, and she often uses slang like "Son" and "Wavy" in her speech.

Though very beautiful, her grace, the way she carries herself, her attitude, and her enthusiasm all take precedence over her individual physical attributes. Everyday, Ebony puts great effort in her appearance, her shirt is always crisp, her skirt is at a modest length, and not a thread is out of place. However, she loves to accessorize in any way possible, wanting to make the uniform her own. You'd usually see her with large hooped earrings, two or three rings on both her ring and pointer fingers, and a black or white headband. When not wearing her uniform, you can expect to see her in a pair of jeans, a cute blouse, and sneakers.

Taking after her mother, Ebony tends to wake up earlier than most in order to perfect her hair and makeup. Unlike a lot of the other girls, Ebony prefers to wear a face full of makeup, no matter the occasion. It first started out as a way for her to cover her imperfections, but eventually turned into a genuine love and appreciation for cosmetics. Her nails are painted a different color every few days; she repaints them all if only one of them chips.

Ebony is extremely afraid of snakes, so the Boggart takes the form of a large cottonmouth snake. She first encountered a cottonmouth snake when she was seven years old. Her mother took her on a short vacation in Florida, where they spotted one of the snakes while swimming in a lake. The snake didn't attack, but she was pretty shaken up.

Ebony is a seemingly calm and quiet girl, yet is by no means a pushover. She can more than take care of herself, but is smart enough to know when to pick a fight and when to let something go. She likes to see the good in life, and always wants to find better ways to handle problems. Ebony has always been a carefree girl; she believes that life is too short to dwell on mistakes or mishaps. She is someone who isn't weighed down by the troubles of everyday life, is not restricted by other people's opinions, and is always herself regardless of the situation. She is a cheery young woman, and is rarely found without a smile on her face or enthusiasm dripping from her words. She craves adventure, thrills, and new things. She strives to have a happy and enjoyable life and wants the same for those she holds dear.

Having grown up with a large number of male friends and cousins, Ebony considers herself to be a bit of a "Tomboy." When going to the park, for instance, she'd rather get sticky and sweaty by playing a sport of some sort than "tan" with her girlfriends. Strangely enough, she prefers to keep to herself and stay quiet. When in a confident mood, however, she can be very charismatic and outgoing. She can be competitive, but will never come off as arrogant. Once you get to know her, you see that she is a very humble, caring, intelligent, and trustworthy individual. She has a past, along with a few quirks, as does every other human being, but makes up for them by being an overall fun and generally happy person to be around.

Ebony is confident in herself and her actions, often to a fault. She is very opinionated, has trouble asking for help, and hates admitting when she's wrong. When things don't go as she planned or in a positive direction, she can get frustrated very easily. Though very smart, she has a hard time paying attention in her classes, and is usually caught daydreaming when she should be working. Ebony has a bit of a "potty mouth," and uses profanity even when she isn't trying to. She has a bit of trouble controlling her temper, and whenever someone pushes her to her limit, she'll snap; it will often result in her yelling a large number of obscene words, throwing objects, and even going as far as to get physical.

R O M A N T I C I N T E R E S T S:

Ebony considers herself to be Bisexual, but knows that she leans more towards girls. She'll date anyone, however, who likes to have a good time. Although having had many significant others in the past, Ebony has never had her heart broken, nor has she ever been in love. Being the big flirt that she is, she's more prone to having a fling than an actual committed relationship. Her longest relationship lasted for seven months, but she broke things off when the guy gave her a promise ring on Christmas eve.

Every "relationship" she's been in, she was always the one to break things off. When things get tough she tends to run, not wanting to have to deal with the "drama," as she puts it. "They're either too clingy, too distant, or just not my type of person."

Her idea of a partner is someone who she can simply "vibe" with, someone who can understand and accept her rather than try to change her. She is definitely open to meeting new people, but isn't sure whether or not it would last very long.

B A C K G R O U N D:

Ebony was born in Brooklyn, New York to Tanya Barnes, a pure-blood, black woman from Florida, and Elijah Jones, a Mexican-American muggle who'd been born and raised Brooklyn, New York. They met on a cruise ship when they were just twnety years old, and instantly fell in love. Elijah had never even known that magic existed until he got to know Tanya, and after a long, steady relationship together, they married. Tanya's family, to say the least, were not pleased; they were angry at her for breaking the "pure" chain and allowing a muggle into the blood line. They were even more displeased when they heard that he'd impregnated her. Once Ebony was born just a few months later, Tanya's family cut all ties with her, thoroughly disappointed in their little girl.

Despite her unsupportive family, Tanya and Elijah did their best to raise their child well. Elijah's mother and father welcomed Tanya and Ebony with open arms, eager to get to know the newest members of their family. Her mother got a job as a cosmetologist, and her father continued his work in the medical field. She grew up as an ordinary child; She took the subway to and from school every weekday, attended church with her father on Sundays, and made a few friends along the way. Growing up in a semi-ghetto neighborhood, she's had to deal with a lot. She's witnessed random kids in the streets who would throw things, strangers getting mugged on subways, the occasional sound of gun shots outside of the elementary school, and even seeing people become loud, drunk and violent. Ebony grew up without any knowledge of the wizard world, her parents choosing to ignore that part of her completely. Part of them even wanted to believe that she was born without powers, which would make things a great deal easier. Unfortunately, they were not so lucky.

Ebony has had a number of incidents which, at the time, didn't make much sense to her. It was always something small; items would end up disappearing from around the house and reappearing in strange places weeks later. They were forced to tell her who she really was, however, when she was ten years old. She'd gotten into a heated argument with her mother, which eventually led to a glass cup full of sweet tea flying across the room and towards her mother's face. She ducked out of the way, thankfully, but had much explaining to do. Unfortunately, however, a year later, her father was killed in a car accident, leaving her and her mother alone.

When it came time to go to Salem Witch's Institute, Ebony was overjoyed at the idea of learning more about herself and where her mother comes from. Over her time at Salem, Ebony has proved herself to be a capable witch. She's learned much about this new and exciting world, and even gained a few friends along the way. She'd even tried to track down her mother's side of the family, but never could find them. Ever since her father's death, she feels as though a piece of her is missing, and will do absolutely anything to feel whole again.

By many standards Alicia could be called pretty. She got a certain 'girl-next-door' look. She knows this. More important, she makes sure that look stays. Her face is probably her most striking feature. It's perfectly framed by her long, flowing brown hair which she brushes every morning. Her light brown eyes can easily be mistaken as amber colored. To top it all of her smile (and she smiles often) is radiant enough to brighten up most people's days. Still, she is a petite girl, standing a small 5'5". She rarely wears heels, preferring to stick to comfortable ballerinas. Though, despite her low height she still walks with confidence and strength. There is always a certain intensity in her eyes. As if she carries herself with the dignity of a queen. Alicia is certainly a girl that won't move out of the way of others.

As for her uniform, she'll keep it neat and iron as well as possible. Seeing it as a sign of respect towards the school, herself and the teachers. Though, when she can she'll dress in a simple shirt and jeans. Simple might in fact be the word that explains Alicia's normal dress style. She'll dress neither baggy nor tight but rather a middle point between the two. Showing off her figure while still keeping it all very modest.

_{You would think that with a girl as driven as Alicia, History of Magic would be a walk in the park. You'd be wrong. Years on end she barely crossed the bar to advance on. With her book open she often doodles in the class or is writing her thoughts down about some charm she's no doubt mastering. A little more focus during the lessons and a little more time spent in the library would certainly elevate her grades. But she seems very unwilling to go beyond what with earning her a "passed".}

Herself but old, wrinkly, dressed in rags. The old lady cackles and laughs at Alicia, waving a broken wand in her boney fingers. She misses half her teeth yet laughs as if she just saw the greatest joke in centuries. When subjected to a successful Riddikulus charm the boggart's false teeth fall out. Forcing her to stop laughing. Like a wind-up toy the denture keeps on jumping around, out of reach of the boggart who hopelessly tries to crawl towards it.

F A M I L I A R:

She calls her black cat Shadowfax. The black cat was initially quite distant and never really around Alicia in her early days as a witch. In fact, for transfiguration, she almost literally had to hunt down her own cat to drag it with her to the class. The minute she'd release it, Shadowfax would jump away and run. However, the cat slowly grew affectionate of Alicia during her first winter at Salem Institute. At night it slept at her feet, though it still vanished as soon as the sun came up. After a while, Alicia and Shadowfax grew close. The girl realized that she couldn't have her cat around her constantly and accepted this fact. In return, it would seem, Shadowfax would always return to her the moment she called his name. The black cat seems to care little for pets and cuddles from other students but will actively headbutt Alicia when he wants some.

P E R S O N A L I T Y:

Alicia has an intense personality which shines out in every field. She’s a girl of extremes, either negative extremes or positive ones. She’s a zealous protector of her friends. To the point that she may actually become over protective of them. Still she looks out constantly for those she loves and cares about. Harming one of her friends would be equal to harming herself and she has no trouble of picking up a fight if that is what is required to defend her friend. Alicia will most certaintly not shy away from bullies herself and will pick up any confrontation coming her way. However, while she will not turn down any fight, she won’t go out of her way to find one.

But life is more than just protecting and helping her friends during hard times. She’s a true friend how is ready for a laugh or party (most of the time, if she isn’t practicing Quidditch or Charms). Alicia is generally a cheery, happy girl with a sunshine smile. There for her friends first and foremost but also very welcoming of strangers or new people. She’s trustworthy person and secrets she takes with her to her grave. This warm personality often attracts the attention of those who somehow think they can use or abuse her to their own desires. These people will quickly realize something else about Alicia.

Namely that she is fierce like a tigress. An angry Alicia is the last thing you want as then she will most definitely make sure you regret it. This fierceness is, however, not only reserved to those who’d seek to harm or abuse her. In sports this is shown as well, being a highly aggressive chaser (some would claim she should actually be a beater) quite willing to go to the very end to secure a victory for her team. It also applies in practical courses, where her fierceness translates in constant practicing and excellence (especially in the casting of spells).

However, Alicia is not all motherly tiger. She has her own insecurities. Her main fear is that she will never amount to anything great, revolutionary or changing. Instead after graduation she would never find her way in the magical world and simply wither away in the muggle one. Without any magic. Not being good enough is one of her greatest fears. Another bad spot (one she doesn’t fully realize she has) is that she’s power-hungry. Not power as in controlling people. More power as in knowing the strongest charms and spells, having the most prominent potions and so forth.

Her life of extremes is perfectly laid bare in her grades. In In Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Potions, and Transfiguration she excels with clear and notable talent. In the other courses, however, she barely passes. Showing not even an inkling of interest or desire to work for said courses. She has been quite often the cause of great confusion

B A C K G R O U N D:

Born of Elizabeth Johnson and Jacob Stockwood, Alicia is the second child of three. With an older brother named Alexander and a younger sister named Chloé. Mr. and Mrs. Stockwood are both very successful lawyers in the muggle world. This made sure that she never lacked anything materialistically speaking. But with her parents almost never around, it was clear that Alicia had a shortage of attention. Be it luck or fate, her parents had to work overtime quite often. So they asked a family friend to babysit to look after their three little angels. This babysit, Kate McGrath, was a witch in her own right who graduated from Salem Institute. But that's important for later.

As the years moved on, Alicia grew up into a true middle child. Even with the babysit she certainly had a lack of attention. Her older brother was constantly praised for his academic achievements, while her younger sister could get away with anything. She also noticed from a very young age that her father and mother always came home quite tired. Having to deal with Chloé did nothing to help this. So she never tried to be rebellious or get into trouble. Quite the opposite, she kept quiet and to herself at home. Though at the school yard she dominated the place. Even at a young age. Though there was laps where she bullied a few other children. A combination of Kate and a stern teacher managed to root out that problem. From then on Alicia was a model student at her school.

At home she fell into her own fantasies quite often. At first she drew them out but the babysit seemed to have a soft spot for Alicia's fantasies. So every night she came over Alicia sat down with her and together they talked and imagined awesome stories. Alicica wasn't particularly creative in her stories, but she told it in a way as if she was absolutely convinced that they were true. Then the letter from the Salem Institute came and the Stockwoods their life got turned upside down.

At first the family wouldn't believe it. Assuming it to be some weird trick. Kate convinced them that it wasn't and convinced them to go to the Institute themselves to see it for their own eyes. They did and they ended up believing. Alicia was sent to this new, strange school far away from their home in the city. The girl was a bit confused by what was going on, but the second she set foot on the premise, her mind exploded. Suddenly her stories could be real! Even better, she could become a story herself! The amazement was one of the main motivators of her earlier years. As she pushed herself to know as much about the world as possible. Sadly she was never really a good student when it comes to theory. Her constant drive and desire to practice and actually do things often sat in the way of theoretical courses.
