Red Agent was caught off guard by the woman who seemed like she popped out of thin air. "As far as I know, no word on the bombs. I'm sure they're doing some sort of sweep of the city, but I can't tell you how it's organized," she told the other woman with complete honesty, "To tell you the truth, I've been trying to keep the crowd calm. I don't really know what's going on." It was a little hard to tell the other woman that, especially when Red Agent was supposed to be a hero. Sure she could take out a robber within a minute or stop a murderer within seconds, but when it came to bombs she had no experience. Heck, she had only been doing this hero gig for a few months now. "What I do know is they're evacuating as many citizens from here as fast as they can." She looked the other woman's rifle up and down. It was real, that's for sure, but did this woman just go around killing the "bad guys?" Agent didn't question her aloud and looked back at the officer, waiting patiently for a response.

Dr. Malacoda Zatanna

Uptown Central - In the Gotham Law Library. Gotham

Mephistopheles growled at the other man, but allowed him to come closer - his master would direct him should he rip the bandaged thing to shreds... He lowered his head even lower to the ground, the growls deepening even more - before they suddenly stopped, when he felt his master's hand on his head. He looked over at Malacoda, the blood seemed to still be seeping slightly from his mouth and nose, as his face hung towards the ground. The dog placed his large head beneath Malacoda's and forced him upright - so that he could sit against the wall behind him.

"Let's... let's focus on what must be done for now." He placed his arm over the hound, and as it rose to it's full height Malacoda stood up with it - shakily keeping himself upright. His eyes flashed to the other man in the room. "I was not made for this..." He whispered it, mostly to himself, as he shuffled into the library. When he had been in his Psychic presence - he had swept the area to see if there were any other people in the building. He felt a few people upstairs... but he had not been able to discern who they were and what they wanted. Mephistopheles walked next to him, where he aided the other in walking. His ears move every now and then, hearing sounds from a few levels up.

When they reached the stairs, Malacoda looked over at the elevators - with an almost imploring look, but it seems that they have been disabled in the emergency situation. He started walking up the stairs in a slow, controlled manner - his steps already a little bit more certain than they were before - even if his hands were still shaking rather violently every now and then. The hound saw his master struggling, and suddenly reared upwards - and onto it's hind legs - its front front paws shifting as if shadow covered them for a moment, before they resembled claws more. It's back became far more developed as well and it's tail longer - now looking far less than a dog and more like... something that would be far happier on the plains of hell. It reached out, and carefully took Malacoda's shoulders, the man placing his arm around the creature's neck. The next moment, it shimmered, moving at an unholy speed up the three flights of stairs.

When Khnemu finally caught up with them, Malacoda was already shuffling down the hallway on the third floor - the hound again in dog form, was sniffling about.

Gotham Uptown: Gotham Law Library

Reaching the third floor of the building there was sand still covering the floor with small drifts in various places and corners. Also strewn about were some books that had fallen off the shelves during the scuffle that took place within the library, and a few tables and chairs that had flipped over. Most of the noises and coughing from before had stopped leaving the library silent, and the whereabouts of the presumed bombers unknown. As Mephistopheles snooped about in it’s knew form he would soon catch the scent of the bomb and five other people. Two of the bombers ducked out from some bookshelves one throwing a flash grenade and the other firing off a few rounds from his AR-15 at the two as they exit the stairs.

Gotham Midtown: Evac Point

The Police Captain hadn’t been on the scene for more than five minutes when a couple of costumed young women approached him asking about the situation, and wanting to know if the bomb had been found yet. Looking a bit skeptical he replied. “Uh, there hasn’t been any reports of suspicious activity as of yet, nor has any of the squads found the bomb. Since the threat was from an unknown it is hard to say what the motive is for a target.” The Captain was interrupted for a moment when another officer came and handed him a phone. “This is Captain Roth.” He stood a moment, turning from the two women whilst using his finger to plug his open ear. After a few moments he turned back and hung up the phone. “We have word that the bomb in Uptown is located in the Gotham Law Library, we will be re-tasking two units to begin searching related targets here. If you want to help, that’s all the information I have at this time.” This meant that the two units would start checking location similar to the type of target in uptown such as the two district courthouses, Three Libraries, and other buildings of the like. The remaining two units would continue searching densely populated areas and known mob safe-houses.

As George approached the JLA building he noticed graffiti. "Ugh these stupid primates they need to learn respect. He walked inside and was immediately ordered to stand down and raise his hands above his head by an automated system. George complied he then hacked into the JLA security system.

Inside the security system he saw a maze he could hear the whir of security drones, which were really just manifestations of imagination as to how the security system was built. He also saw himself as he was before he was turned into that metal man. He walked the maze when a drone neared he waited for it to pass then he hoped on and ripped it apart. The drone had a weapon that he salvaged.

Eventually George finished the maze he had a numbers of wounds, if he was in there much longer he would have "died" and had to fight the real security system designed to repel super villains. He found the central hub of the security system. He accessed the database. He found that every member was listed as K.I.A. or M.I.A. He didn't know exactly what those acronyms stood for but it was probably not good. He downloaded himself into the list as a member of the JLA.

Back in the real world the security system stood down and welcomed him. He went to what he thought might be central command. He found a room with lots and lots of computer stuff. "Interesting, some of this is clearly more advanced than the rest of the primate world. Must be all the alien tech integrated in here. No wonder the security system took so long." In reality it was three minutes at most but he was expecting less time based on the rest of the tech he had seen.

He sat down on one the chairs and it immediately buckled under him. "Just great here less than ten minutes and already broke something. Clearly they used standard furniture here. I would have gone with furniture capable of being used as a weapon against a super villain." George plugged into the computer. He began a scan for the beacon he picked up. After a few minutes. "Fuck that beacon is the middle of some stupid jungle hundreds of miles away. Most direct path is over water meaning plane. Maybe they have a hangar. He pulled up the blueprints and downloaded it. He overplayed a small portion of the blueprints on to his HUD and added a dot represent himself. As he moved the small portion of the blueprints changed as well.

Eventually he found a hangar. It had a damaged jet in it, it would take him quite a while. George set down, he was not in the mood to play mechanic at the moment. He powered down most of his chassis and began looking for someone he could hire to fix the infernal machine.

The flash of the grenade, while unable to completely blind him due to his goggles, was enough to cause Khnemu to recoil in displeasure. A shot struck him in the chest, sending out sand mixed with blood. After a moment of standing, Khnemu collapsed, clutching the wound.

"These damned sorcerers... Malacoda Zatanna! Hold a second whilst I die." Khnemu stated matter-of-factly, a moment later he keeled over and stopped breathing.

A minute or so after that, he sat up and brushed himself off. Cracking his neck and massaging his temple, he tossed his wraps at one of the bombers, smacking him into the nearby wall. Noticing the other as he ducked into cover, he floated off his feet and dashed after him.

"These might be those men you were searching for, Malacoda Zatanna, I will neutralize the other to the best of my ability." He managed to get out before moving to his full speed.

Mephistopheles raised it's head, noting the grenade moving towards them, and bumped Malacoda out of the way - and behind a makeshift cover. While he did not actively attack the assailants, he dodged their shots with relative ease, looking more like puppy prancing in a field, than a hell-hound dodging heavy fire. Malacoda slid down the side of the wall, still clutching at his chest. He peered over to where Mephistopheles jumped about, and raised his eyebrow at Khnemu's sudden resurrection. As the other flew forwards, attacking the would be bombers, malacoda closed his eyes and envisioned one of the shooters, focusing on his gun - "TI Dluow eb a emahs, dluohs uoy erifsim" - smirking as the gun exploded, temporarily stunning the man. "Sick'em" The words were whispered, but the reaffirming growl from Mephistopheles assured Malacoda that the command was heard, and the hound flew forwards. As Malacoda struggled to get up, the smirk still in place - the screams and panic that sounded further and further away, had him resisting a chuckle. If nothing, the dog was enthusiastic.

Moving again into the now quiet hallway - he walked over to where the forearm of one of the bombers lay - a trail of blood and paw prints leading away from it and deeper into the library. Slowly bending over and picking up the appendage. Holding it near where it was severed, he pointed the hand out in front of him, the un-moving fingers flopping about. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, before the fingers twitched, and the pointer finger became rigid and turned slightly right. So, onward went Malacoda, following his rather macabre compass - until he reached an area where there remained a few people, currently surrounding what clearly was the bomb. Keeping to the shadows, he let the hand fall to the ground and crawl toward them. Perhaps they were easily spooked? The resulting gunfire, and now minced arm proved him either wrong or right... he was unsure.

As the one went back to the bomb, the other two keeping watch - Malacoda waved his hand, casting a minor illusion - the timer suddenly speeding up. Counting down much faster than the 20 minutes remaining. He could not help smirking at them floundering, starting to fight between each other about whether or not they should disable it, or run - one saying that they clearly can't get out of the blast radius in time, and that they have to disable it. When one moved towards the bomb, clearly intent on disabling it, he made sure to pay close attention to what he was planning on doing, should he himself have to do so soon.

The fleeing assailant was running with a mix of both fear and trying to get to a new position before attempting to kill his pursuer… again. Taking a few quick corners around some bookshelves he came to an open area with a few tables with chairs around them for reading and studying. Throwing a couple chairs towards where he entered as he passed some of the tables he then flipped a long rectangular table on its side for cover waiting for the next sign of movement.
“I don’t get it,” He wiped some sweat from his brow. “I shot that thing and he got up like it was nothing” Gun ready he waited hoping this was just his imagination.

---___---

@Almosegosum
“Was that an arm?” One of the men asked.
“I think so… But it wasn’t…” Another responded both with their guns trained on where the arm was. There was a moment of exchanged glances between the three of them then to the bomb. “Uh, Is it counting faster, or am I just seeing things?” They all looked back and it did appear to be counting faster.
“We need to stop it then, elsewise the escape won’t be here in time.” another said moving towards the bomb.
“No! you idiot, do you remember what he said would happen if you disarm that.” The first spoke again. This inspired a fearful look from the other two men.
“Do you think he was serious?” The second asked lowering his gun momentarily. “I know the guy supposed to be a bit, off, but…” he trailed off just looking at the bomb. The whole time the counter was speeding up more and more now counting 3 seconds every second.
“I don’t care! I have a life to live!” the one nearest the bomb called out as he hastily began to defuse the bomb. Popping a panel off the front of the timer he reached for the wires- BANG! A shot rang out from the second man of the group, and the one attempting to disarm the bomb fell lifeless to the ground.
“Escape or not, I would rather die than take that chance.” He said looking to his partner who nodded in response.

Cassidy

@Burning Kitty
While scanning Cassidy picked up a ping from the Hall of Justice Defense System that was quickly set to green after only a few seconds. “This could be promising, not many can shut down the H.O.J. Security System like that. Hopefully the inner sanctum is still untampered with.” Cassidy began to connect to the outer security systems of the Hall hoping there were still some cameras intact. Surely enough there were a few still operable, but the ones left were not in too good of shape making it hard to discern who was there. “Well it looks like he is still connected to the system, and searching for something over the open network… Let’s just knock.” Working into the Hall’s systems Cassidy began to ping George with a message. “Hello, You don’t look like you’re from around here… well, at least not from this time.”

George was not to thrilled to be seeing text suddenly appear on his hud, but he was willing to put up with it if this person could get him the help he needed because at the moment he was to lazy to do it himself. "Of course I am not from around here. I am a time travel that also somehow ended crossing over into another universe. Just my luck, to prove the multiverse zealots rights. If you can help me repair this plane I would appreaciate the help otherwise please leave me alo...." He paused for a while. "Do you have interesting stories to tell about this Justice League? I wished I landed on my Earth. It was my dream to meet the Justice Coalition or to a lesser extent their predecessor the Justice Brotherhood and get their help. Now I have nothing."

"Please. sorcerer, I only seek to kill you," Khnemu stated about as reassuringly as a zombie could. Noticing the pathetic barricade thrown in front of him, Khnemu chortled, a hideous, gasping sound, mixed with an odd rattling. This man had no clue what he was dealing with, and he was alone. Khnemu was going to have fun for the first time in a long while.

"I believe you lack understanding of my true nature," he said before tossing the barricade aside with one swing of his wrappings. "The last of the Egyptian god-kings passed years ago, and yet I still remain, thousands of years have passed and I am still here. I am Egypt's last heir, I am the last pharaoh, I am this land's protector, and you are not but a commoner unsuited to lick my boots," Khnemu continued, walking into the room, followed by a large amount of the sand still contained within the building. The sand twisted about in the air, columns of the stuff.

"I tell you this why? Because you will not survive to tell any others." Before the gunman could even fire a shot, Khnemu's sand chewed through his barricade, the sand smashed into his chest, driving him into the nearest wall with a thump. He wasn't dead, but Khnemu had taken him out of commission, perhaps Dr. Zatanna could find some use for him. The man had sustained a heavy blow to his head upon collision with the wall, perhaps a concussion, whatever the case, he was not going to be rejoining the fight anytime soon.

"Perhaps you'll survive, but you'll wish I killed you."

Perhaps Zatanna and his hound required assistance. Khnemu turned and left the room, his cloak tailing behind him limply, no wind to push it. He left the unconscious criminal where he sat, prepared to return for him. Rushing back towards Zatanna's position, he joined his new-found ally in hiding behind the wall.

"The sorcerer is neutralized, though not dead, perhaps he can be of some use to you. For now, I suggest that you engage your hound in assaulting the sorcerers in the next room, though I am at your disposal if necessary, Malacoda Zatanna." With heavy internal struggle, he finally admitted to himself that perhaps rushing in was not the best option this time, and Zatanna seemed to know what he was doing.

"I understand the use of human body parts in blood-rituals, but even I must admit that using it as a distraction is highly irregular." He whispered, motioning to the ruined arm that sat in the middle of the room.

Malacoda looked at his cohort, before frowning back at the two remaining. With a swift flick of the wrist, the countdown returned to it's normal speed. This naturally made them even more suspicious, as the started arguing among each other. Not because they wanted to end the countdown, but because they wanted to investigate who was clearly fucking with them. As they snapped at one another, one telling the other to go have a look, the other telling him he could go fuck himself. Smirking at their banter, he turned to Khnemu.

"While I am sure you wish to attack them outright - they have with them a weapon. It could destroy this entire building and everything, and everyone in it - within a moment. This weapon can only be made non-lethal through means that only they are aware of. I have just established that not only are they willing to kill to allow the weapon to go off, but they also are willing to die and keep the information secret. As you can imagine, this provides us with a rather delicate puzzle. I would offer to enter their minds, but... I fear you gave me quite the run for my money earlier. I would not like to put myself in such a vulnerable situation again so soon. Any thoughts?" He smiled as Mephistopheles came patting over - sitting down next to his master and pushing his head under his hand, begging for a pat.

“Then you are not of use to me” Hayato said as he released his hold on the man and dropped him to the ground “You probably don't know anything too right?” said as to the man he has trapped with his feet, as he also released his hold on him. “Now don't waste your or my time and start running out of here” Hayato left the two men alone to try and find a way to stop the bomb, he wasn't as smart to find the solution of the puzzle nor had the technology to find a bomb in an area as big as this. The people who were behind this weren't as obvious as Shocker on their plans and semmes more focused to terrorize the citizens than stealing a secret treasure or testing their new monster, it surprised Hayato how different Japanese and American villains were, though they were just as merciless and uncaring of innocent people's lives. Snapping back to reality Hayato had only one idea to find the bomb: He would see if the police had found something about the location of the bomb and for him to be able to arrive in time to stop it. He ran to one of the policemen and said to him “Have the bomb team found anything or should we focus on evacuating sir?

Staring silently at the wall, Khnemu thought to himself on how they could deal with this situation.

"Perhaps I could smother the explosion with my other form, I may lose a limb or two, but it should be enough to prevent the building from going down. Though of this proposition, I am not sure," he said with a weak wave of his hand, some of the nearby sand began to spin in a small cyclone.

"Alternatively," he continued. "We could attack with such a ferocity that they do not have the time to trigger the explosion." Khnemu crossed his arms as he continued to mull over the choices, he had the wisdom of the most knowledgeable gods in any of the pantheons, so he had a lot of ideas.

"Though your ability to teleport may prove useful, if we remove the device or the man with the trigger, we could easily dispose of this issue. Though, if you are unable to teleport objects without contact, it may prove much more difficult." The sand in the room had begun to shift towards Khnemu more and more, a large amount had already gathered on his shoulders. "Of course, if you are too weak to use your magics, I may be able to damage the internal workings of the device with my sand, this may be the easiest option, though I only have an elementary knowledge of modern technology, it may be difficult for me to fully deactivate the device."

"Or you could dress in women's clothing, the distraction may prove enough to allow me to deal with the others, though I have no idea where we could find these garments," he suggested earnestly, without a hint of humor.

"I could also propel you into the device with my wind abilities, hopefully blunt force trauma is enough to deactivate it, though the damage to your form may be substantial..." he stated with a hint of child-like giddiness in his monotone voice.

"Alternatively, I could propel your hound at the device, or perhaps propel you at the men, the surprise of seeing a man flying towards them could prevent them from activating the device, perhaps your hound at the bomb at the same time, a two pronged assault would be overwhelming..."

Agent nodded, "Alright, Thank you Captain Roth." There wasn't any information on where the bomb was specifically, but it didn't seem many heroes were here in Midtown. She looked around the city. Where would a criminal like to get revenge? The only place she could think to search was the nearest courthouse. Her heart raced as she grappled onto the nearest building and raced to the courthouse.

Malacoda stared at the man for a few seconds. "I propose this as plan 'A' - Mephistopheles and you distract them - the weapon is timed and there are only a few more minutes left. You take out the one Furthest away - do not touch the bomb, or fiddle with it's inner workings. We do not know how it is set up. M will take the one Closest. Both of you are quite resistant to bullets, M less so - so he needs the shorter reaction time. They seem to be sub-par both intellectually and physically - so you do not have to worry. If you can move the both of them away, then I can rush over and open a portal to somewhere else beneath it. Perhaps a few miles into the air, above the river? The bomb will go off, but it won't harm anyone. Plan B, I remove M and I from the premises and you cover it bomb with as much sand as you can. Thoughts?" He quickly spoke, rushing through potential outcomes. He had very little magical power left. Most of it had been drained from his psychic reserves, but at the moment even keeping Mephistopheles in this realm was beginning to strain him. This needed to be done quickly and efficiently - before he will have to take a long rest. He gripped his umbrella tighter. He could still manage a teleportation spell... If plan A does not work, then he will have to be fast. If he creates the portal however, and even then if it does not work... he looked down at his hound, who whined at him softly - again sounding very much like something not of this earth. He patted him on the head lightly. "None of that, now..."

Khnemu looked at the hound as it whimpered, noting Malacoda's white-knuckled grasp on his umbrella. The man had to be running low on magic by now, opening the portal would probably drain him completely, even if it was safer.

"Get out of the building. If I don't come after the bomb explodes, come back for me," he stated with the usual sullen seriousness that he always had. Tugging off his cloak, he draped it over Mephistopheles, not giving a care to the beast's comfort. Immediately the sand in the room shot over in his direction, covering him in a cocoon.

"I am a hurricane, wind imitating fire," his voice echoed out as the sand began to shift chaotically. A hand formed from this same sand and pulled itself into the room, Khnemu's other form revealing itself from the sand. Smashing the criminals into the wall, he quickly moved to the bomb, falling over it and cradling it to his chest.

"Go, Malacoda Zatanna! This is your last chance!"

Malacoda noted the sudden action, and reached over to his hound, grasping him, and the coat - before tapping his umbrella on the ground.

Uptown Central - Outside In the Gotham Law Library. Gotham

Both he and the beast fell through the ground and onto the pavement furthest away from the building. The moment he looked up he could hear the bomb go off, taking the shock-wave taking out most of the windows in the area. He raised his hand in front of his eyes, but Mephistopheles had already rushed in front of him, taking the brunt of the force. He peered around, the dust and smoke raising into the air, his ears ringing. The area seemed to be evacuated for the most part, with only officials spotted here and there - all seeming to have taken cover in time. Mephistopheles took on his other form and helped Malacoda up, before whimpering as he shrunk back into the form of a small dog statue. With a groan, Malacoda crouched to pick it up, gently stroking it with his thumb as he got up. He placed the figurine in his coat pocket. His eyes turned to the burning building, and he felt his frown forming.

He started walking back to the building, now in rubble - frowning through the smoke. He was now truly out of options. He could not even teleport back home at this point. He felt however, that he should go get that stupid, sandy fucker. If only to berate him.

How much of a moron could he be. Shuffling through the dense heat coming from the burning books Malacoda felt his ire grow. The whole point of this exercise was to save the building, limit damage - try and keep at least one of the terrorist alive so that they could be interrogated. The best option was to remove the bomb. All he needed to do, was to take care of the two men and then the who situation could have been salvaged.

That was why we had a plan A...

He stumbled, reaching out blindly and touching a scorching hot piece of wall. He let out a scream, more so of anger than pain, and hit a piece of rock with his umbrella - roaring again. "Where are you!? You sand addled halfwit! Khnemu!"

George grew tired of wating for a response to the thing messaging him. He began working on a fixing the plane. He realized early on his fingers were to big for the delicate work needed in some areas. He began working up schematics for any device that he could build with what he had around.

During his inventory he noticed one piece of junk was not a part for the plane. It reminded him of one his leg actuators but extremely ancient in comparison. In his body it would last maybe an hour under non-combat circumstances. It could only mean one thing they have robotic technology. He began a search for the robots, he figured this League probably used them for maintenance. He found a room full of the robots. He plugged into a central hub for all the robots and turned them on. He ordered them to begin repairing the plane and anything else as necessary.
