Can't blame ya. It was certainly worth reading.
I mean, yeah...what could possibly go wrong with welcoming the captain's would-be assassin to the crew?

On that note, is there a followup post coming with Raymond actually addressing the newcomers that Kaite is barely managing to welcome? (When they should be/should have been...I dunno...running security on the Monroe to keep assassins and stowaways from getting on the ship ~_~ )

Kaite would still see it as failing to uphold an essential facet of the job description. Shapeshifters like Kellian were never mentioned and they couldn't have possibly been prepared for the unseen threat - not to mention the skill of the assassin in question.. Needless to say, Kaite will probably be a bit...put off...by news of what happened, and especially with the decision to welcome Kellian aboard in response.

I'm sure they'll get along just fine. :P

The captain is alive and 'fool me once' doesn't have room for being offended by Kellian who, in Kaite's mind, is just being insecure about getting beat up after biting off more than they could chew. Teasing Kaite for his failure is just a good way to remind them to pay better attention.
Only criticism from Raymond could actually harm them.

Eh, he will probably be nothing but polite to Achi (for...obvious reasons), and will have nothing but snark for Kaite.

And...he is a little pissed that he got beat up, but he, like it says in the race bio, is a relatively good loser and wont really hold it against them, for the moment.

Not to mention hes actually in quite a good mood now. After all, just a few words and tricks and hes part of a group where very few people can touch him. That more than makes up for the whole losing thing.

Speaking of replies, sorry I haven't gotten anything out recently. Between snowstorm knocking our power out 4 times in 2 days and a personal shitstorm wearing on me I've been finding it hard to write anything for a cheery character. I'll try to get something out to work with soon.
