Minecraft Breaking the Mold

There exists a world much like minecraft, but in this world the rules are different. This isn't a game, this is a world that abducts people and constantly evolves (adding mods). In this world one false move can result in true death. Yet in another moment Death could only be a doorway to more realms, while another moment it could be simply be a false sense of reality. This world constantly changes every couple of days, making what the inhabitants thought was normal isn't anymore. The moment they get use to one rule, it could change entirely or an entirely new one could come crashing in. Some of the abductees could of even played minecraft back in their own world, but this world would make them rethink what they know, things aren't simply block and squares with infinite lives, they will never know when death is permanent, and when death isn't real. The monsters have gained many new powers and forms, even brand new monsters come crashing in from lands unknown.

The Main concept of this roleplay is random Chaos. Looking at minecraft with it's many, many mods over the years as ideas to expand what is possible and what isn't. for those who play minecraft, imagine a world where ever mod conceived could be thrown together at once, and they could randomly activate and deactivate every couple if in world days. When a Change has occurred anything that happens thanks to that is permanent but should the source get disable it can't be expanded on. Example: Should Thaumcraft (a mix of pretty much every verison for incase of this roleplay) be activated and a member of the group manages to get a wand with foci, even if thaumcraft becomes disabled that person will still have that wand and foci with it functional. Only thing that would change is they can't progress farther, and they can't find new resources and Nodes that wasn't already found, until thaumcraft activates again.

Some changes or Mods will stay permanent activated while others will come and go without any reason or cause. Essentially this is going to be a rp about the rpers are entirely trying to survive in a world that wants to F them over at any moment all based around a non-blocky version of minecraft with random mods thrown in. Your characters (there isn't a limit, just how many you can handle since there will be deaths here and there both of NPCS and Player Characters), will be coming from Earth our world exactly the way it is now, so some could have knowledge of things in this world, though that knowledge will only get them so far.

Do note though, this roleplay may not start or have an OOC set up at any time soon, this is currently just being set up ahead of time for when I have the means to focus on it. One major reasons for this roleplay is to help myself in world building, and only way I'm going to get better at it is by Gming a roleplay where my entire focus is in the world building and it's inhabitants. Feel free to discuss ideas here in the Interest check with anyone interested in this possible idea. When this does get set up and going, I will constantly be checking various minecraft mods from ones I know nothing about to those I'm very familiar with and be going back and forth every couple of in rp days changing what is active and what isn't, and when I do I will have a hider list in every post of mine stating what changes are in affect at that time of post, as well as time of day in every post to help keep the roleplay going smooth when it comes time hopefully.

I should probably warn you that people will probably ridicule you for trying to do this, whether it succeeds or not.

I'm still trying to figure out if it's an April Fools joke.

To be frank I care little for what people think of me, I like trying ideas that are out of the ordinary. If it doesn't work then it doesn't work. if it does then it'll be a fun experience. Either way I don't plan to actual work on this idea until some time later, this was mainly to get people's opinions and even some feedback of possible things to do with such an idea, like if there are anything that could be improved.

Also this is not an April fool's joke Wade. For one it's pretty much an entire month to late for such a thing, or should I say it at lest feels that way for me.

I have often done roleplays in random little groups I've joined or made on video games or sometimes other sites, and these roleplays have no distinct purpose, we just designed the world and went with what ever the heck we wanted to see what could come out of it. Only rules we ever made in those was simply rules to keep us in balance with each other in terms of Character strength/development. Other wise it was pretty much free game to do anything in the design of the world we created, even create Demi-Gods if we wanted. Some of those roleplays was the funniest I've done. It always interested me to see how far we could take a concept, and if something didn't work out we just shrugged it off and tried something else.

Kind of the entire point in roleplaying sometimes, is to try things out of the box and see what can come out of it. Sometimes great stories can be made from a very loose concept, other times a chaotic concept can turn into an amazing experience. The more you do, the better you become. The more you limit your ideas the less they can become free-flowing.

In the end this would probably become my first Open roleplay where there is no plot. Simply live and survive in a crazy world, creating your own unique story with each of the roleplayers apart of it that could be entirely different if another group does the same concept. I will probably set a limit on the amount of roleplayers allowed at one time or else it'll become to much to keep track of everything, but that would be one of the only few rules I'll do for this. This is simply a chance to try something completely different, hence the name 'Breaking the Mold'.

I could very well change concepts of this roleplay, like removing the entire minecraft aspect of it. For that was simply the concept I had on hand at the time of typing this, and create a complete and unique world that constantly changes for one reason or another, or maybe it's simply the group of people are thrown to one dimension after another. This was simply a rough and basic concept of something I felt like doing, and was simply looking to see if people do one of three things; Sure, Nay, or feedback to improve on it.

Ima say this right now, RPs without a plot is a story without plot: they either die quickly or remain a poorly written clusterfuck all the way through with everyone fumbling around for nothing.

Lately I've seen more rps with plots die quicker than someone can throw a baseball. The entire purpose of a roleplay like this is just to experiment with ideas. It doesn't actually matter if something comes out of it or not. While if something does like I've experience in the past than all the better, but it isn't what matters in the end. by breaking away from being forced to follow a specific path you can freely improve on your ideas in greater ways than before. That is my own experience but to each their own. For me this idea is to improve my world building skills, since I'm in the progress of writing a small novel so I wish to improve my skills by using an experiment with the help of others who could be experimenting their own little ideas.

I've had some roleplays that had no plot, yet create a great storyline just from the characters themselves, last for years. One roleplay was a fantasy Sci-fi that was a small group of like 7 or 8 people. We created our own kind of characters, each breaking the mold of the next. We developed these characters in random encounters and more. If we didn't like how the story went, we just hit the restart button and tried a different way. That group isn't really together anymore, mainly since we each went into different interests or just real life dragging us down, through them and another group I had developed to a decent roleplayer, then by expanding my horizons I improved even more. This is simply another chance to improve again, but again each to their own.

Keeping track of date isn't an easy thing now a days. So very easy to mess up in things regarding to that. Thus I revised my words, for me it feels like it's a entire month late for stuff like April fools. Simple things like time can easily be ignored and forgotten when you have to deal with things that can agitate you. Not to mention there is times where it feels like you simply blink and it's already been a week.
