@Kassarockwell if I'm being honest I imagine that titles will vary from province to province since for instance. The Hitar province has a fairly traditional line of succession with a Sheikh at the top since the ruler of the whole of Sariya is a Sultan. I just drew on the ottoman Empire and the caliphat for my inspiration. Since typically a Sheikh is a tribal or regional ruler and the sultans were the ottoman royal line.

@Kassarock I'm down with figuring some stuff out. Like using "sahib" for sir, "khanum" for ma'am, or "ustad" for teacher? I know a few idioms that might work too, I suppose.

Just a note, everyone, I've edited Elain's arena armour with 'It guards the majority of his body, however, and so in the arena, to appease the crowd, he bares his arms and shoulders, and wears leather pants to guard his legs instead of steel, with only greaves to guard his shins and bracers for his wrists.'. I felt like he had a little too much on reflection, given that most everyone else also has limited armour.

@MegaOscarPwn Well, he can. They'll just be revived outside of the arena.

Also, I've just realised what Estella said about the runes and dying after fifteen or so minutes if not revived can be compared to the brain death that occurs roughly fifteen minutes after cardiac arrest.

Tbh I'm fine with moving at a slower place, as long as people are still committed to continuing.

I recognise that some people may feel more inclined to jump ship if an RP seems to be slowing, but personally I see this as necessary for getting long term players. We often need to balance busy RL lives alongside what we do here, and setting a pace which avoids burn outs or people feeling snowed under by the sheer about of posts being generated is key to doing this.

I've been in RPs that have lasted for around 5 years, and generally these have had more relaxed schedule than most. But there does need to be a middle ground, between holding attention, and avoiding overload. Where this golden mean lies differs on an individual level. For me, its probably posting around once a week.

I've no objections to the slower pace, especially since the majority of our characters still haven't met Loreia yet. We can always work on other interactions in the meantime.

It's only been 2 days since the last IC post and we are in a bottleneck situation, so I think we'll be okay.

Speaking of collabs though, @Kassarock wanna get one going for the dastardly duo and Parisa? We can post it up as it's own thing or I can tack it onto my intro to our Lady Valens.

@Kassarock Awesome sauce. I get off of work in a few hours and will send up a PM to start it up... Or we can use the pirate pad thing, whichever you prefer. I can't get on either with my work computer though (stupid government computers and their firewalls of doom) and HATE writing on my phone, lol.

Such a shame... We have all these people ready to post but we get roadblocked because of collabs. If we don't hear anything from @Estella by the end of this weekend then I'm probably going to call it as well. Willing to reboot this though, seemed very promising at the start.
