Just an FYI, Comet couldn't have not heard the announcement. The Clairvoyant literally spoke that into the heads of everyone in the City.

A minor edit will fix, though. Perhaps he was too busy being distressed to leave immediately?

@Old Amsterdam Yeah, he went for the whole "not my job" deal then he heard a huge noise and was like "Shit, that sounds like a whole lot of my problem."

It'll be a while before I post as Spectrum, so expect another ENTV briefing soon.

Now that I think about it, are there Epics that name signature moves and all that kind of stuff? None of us do that kind of thing but I feel like the news dudes or the tabloids would have for someone like Dragon at some point.

@RoflsMazoy, nothing really sticks any more than a football player has a signature technique. It's more likely that you do something awesome and the groupies/geeks/ENTV pick up in it, like Diego Maradona and his "Hand of God" goalm

@ihinka Almost exactly right. You guys can feel free to reference pop culture. Like Reality, Unless Otherwise Noted. Considering Epic City will be watching the largely untouched US' television and film as well as listening to the music, you'll find the same pop culture references with a few Epic changes: Trump (as a reality TV star) might have a minor Compelling Voice that's neutralised by sensible hairstyles.

I'm wondering if I should take Regan and the PART teams and have them engage the small fries to leave the Epics free to deal with the Rat King?

I'm not exactly sure what liberties we can take with the shared characters. Can we just mention them, reference them, engage in conversation with them... Or can we have them do stuff even if our PC is not in the same scene /post/?

@ihinka
Engage with them, Converse with them, anything involving your PC (so long as you're obeying the rule of keeping NPCs from being in several places at once) is all fine.

If you have reason enough to use them outside of your scene, away from your PC, I think you'll be okay to use them. Just be careful to stay to their character.

I'd shy away from using Blacklight, Marching House, and Nightmare though.

Though really, what did you have in mind?

@Old Amsterdam Nothing in particular. really... I was just wandering about the logistics of it all... for future posting purposes

As I said... I was just wondering if I should nudge the plot along by having Regan and some random PART operatives engage the smaller swarm rats so that the Epics can concentrate on the Rat King.

I'll get a post up to get James grappling with the Rat king, a list of abilities the Rat king possesses would be appreciated. Allows me to write it out with a bit more confidence.

@Athoriel, The Rat King is twice the size of the normal rats, which is to say just a little taller than a man. The link of four bodies allows an all-around view of surroundings, and the Rat King hovers. The bodies aren't individually much stronger than a man, but the fact that two to three pairs of arms can work together makes the Rat King more difficult to fight.

  • Greater Reach than its brethren.
  • Multiple heads make it difficult to surprise
  • Multiple arms make it hard to pin
  • Telekinetic floating. No legs.

@Regitnui Soooo James could just punch it dead? One head at a time? No other form of telekinesis to stop him?
