Convel McConnor

Convel watched with approval as the Frenchwoman and the Necromancer both made their respective attacks, unphased by the army of the dead that had dug itself up from beneath the Earth. In fact, he had the odd hankering to try and take a bite out of the skeletal samurai that had just walked past him, though the heat of battle was able to distract him enough to keep the Wolf Fang from committing such strange urges.

Upon hearing the short Sorcerer behind him shout out something along the lines of, "Foolish mortals, bare witness to the great and magnificent powers of Sen! The clown witch who has no qualms against zapping all of her comrades with a terrifying lightning bolt! Including the ever lovable and oversized puppy that just saved my life with his large shield," Convel turned his head to the girl's direction to see how badly his fur was about to be singed.

"Now is not the time to be stripping!" he shouted toward her as she lifted up her skirt, only noticing afterward that her skirt was made of tomes and books and not fabric or cloth. Watching as a surge of electricity burst from her fingertips and struck the oni in front of them both, Convel realized that he had possibly misheard her evil villain monologue just slightly. It didn't matter though. She had taken some of the heat off of him and had now given the Guardian a chance to change from a defensive stance to an offensive one.

Raising his sword above his head, the Wolf Fang growled out the word, "Cross Slash!" before swinging the weapon downward in a diagonal motion, not once but twice. With Sen's lightning and his sword, the two had slain their first enemy with the cliche yet effective power of teamwork. Now just an entire army to go.

As the fight continued, Matsuko had a watchful eye on her cooldowns and health. She felt as though she should've picked Monk, because these cooldown times were making her somewhat impatient. The fact that these Oni had spears wasn't really helping either. Their range advantage over her blade made it hard to approach them without being poked by one of the others. So far three Oni had been defeated. If memory served her well, there should be a field boss when they defeat enough Oni.

She didn't want to use skills like <Unbreakable Will> until the boss arrived, but her health had taken quite a large hit due to the absence of a healer in the party. She began to wonder why they even started this event without one..
As she fought, her health began to slowly fall, the bar going yellow. Her health regeneration wasn't enough, especially since it was day-time. This cursed sword did almost nothing during the day, she had half a mind to get rid of it, but it was a Phantasmal, so discarding it would be a terrible idea.

She let go of the sword with her left hand, and began to fight single-handedly as she rummaged through her bag with the other hand, producing yet another sandwich. As she deflected and dodged attacks, she started stuffing her face with the delectable piece of food, her body being encased in a green aura similar to a regeneration spell from a druid. Her health bar slowly began to move back into the green. The perks of being 'The Great Gourmand.'

After finishing her fantastic sandwich, she immediately reacted to an Oni's downward swing, activating <Kaeshi>. The impeccable timing of the skill made her blade flash a deep red as she cut into the assailant, dealing the finishing blow. Four down. The last Oni standing flew into a rage as it's companions fell. Before the last Oni could even telegraph an attack, Matsuko dashed forward using <Moonlight Slash>. A pause for dramatic effect as Matsuko sheathed her blade. The iconic 'clink' sound of the sword in scabbard before the enemy evaporated into shiny bubbles of anima.

Silver had made sure to keep an eye on the battle and it seemed they were able to take down 3 of the 5 that attacked them and he noticed that their tank was taking damage and she needed help. Still He knew she could take care of herself and that was proven true when she ate her sandwich and took down the last two without his help. That was the problem with his class they were focused on burst damage so he couldn't continually fight like the swashbuckler class. He had made sure to stay hidden throughout the fight and wait for someone to need his help. Once the fighting was done he stayed quiet and out the way making sure not to reveal himself until another enemy came by.

Sonia Gaumont watched, fighting her opponent of course, while Tachyon summoned undead samurai. If that was not creepy enough, he had a speech that was. She felt a shiver in her skin with the Oni as it was, with them being humanoid monsters. In her own battle, she found herself joined by one of the Samurai and Sen shocking the Oni. Furthermore, she found another was just now dispatched by Convel. Not wasting any time, she decided to hit another opponent near her with Cheap Trick to set them up for more attacks and Quick Assaulted the Oni to spread the pain. This was a common strategy for her, to spread the pain among the group as opposed to a single target.

It wasn't long before both teams managed to clear away the oni's that was facing them but things was still far from over no only was that just a initial wave but both teams can tell more was coming "lesser oni' and "greater oni" was coming in drove being more of a fodder class meant that a boss was normally behind them waiting in the shadow. This premonition turned out to be true as slowly but surely things was starting to change slowly a shift in the wind as it blew and a sudden quiet as the oni stepped back. Before long a quick shadow appeared in front of Matsuko "False Deity - Kibahime" Appeared appearing human sized as well but that is where things stopped her skin had a pinkish hue as her scarlet red mask on the side of the head seemed to glow with a yellow energy. Her weapon was giant compare to her short frame towering over her. The large Iron pagoda shaped club had a single flame inside its flame seemingly have a hunger of its own as it eagerly set to fire anything the weapon touched.

As the original onis was driven off after awhile by the impromptu team it was quickly shaping up to be more and more of a task as numbers became more of a problem. Though that was soon going to change as the numbers started to dwindle as they dashed away back where they came from Soon enough a single oni came forth clad in large black robes carrying a giant cleaver dragging it along as it made a loud screeching sound. Soon enough it's name came into view the female oni howled in challenge as it slammed the cleaver onto the ground before kicking it over her shoulder. "False Deity - Kurohime" flashed showing its status before it charged forward towards the party.

Matsuko's blade shuddered in excitement as the 'False Deity - Kibahime' appeared before her. After she had ingested another food pill, similar to the last one, the two of them eyed one another for a moment, waiting for the other to make the first move. The Samurai would've engaged immediately had she not been waiting for some of her cooldowns to finish. 3..2..1..

Planting her foot into the ground, she launched herself forward. In a quick flash of silver, she unsheathed her blade; <Iaijutsu>. Kibahime, despite wielding such a seemingly unruly weapon, managed to parry the skill much to Matsuko's disdain. However this was only the first of many strikes. In another quick flash, akin to moonlight, the Samurai executed <Moonlight Slash> putting a defense debuff on the Oni. Matsuko hadn't forgotten about the two lesser Oni that stood beside the Kibahime. Her eyes flashed red as she bellowed, "I'll feed you to my blade!" All three Oni screeched in anger at her words, striking out at her. She wondered if the glitch still worked..

CLANG! All three weapons stopped on top of her blade as she executed <Kaeshi>. She smirked, striking all three of her foes in a single counterattack. The glitch involved blocking more than one strike simultaneously within the small window of <Kaeshi>, something that was never really known or fixed since the timing window was so narrow that it was thought to be impossible to achieve. Matsuko, among a few other Samurai in the server knew about this exploit, but had always kept it under wraps for obvious reasons.

Just as Convel had finished off another oni, wrenching his sword free just before it despawned into a mass of bubbles and experience points, he heard the footsteps of something large approaching with some just as big dragging behind it. Ignoring the rest of the lesser mobs, he raised his shield in the direction of the incoming boss and watched as it dragged its massive weapon in front before kicking it up off the ground and onto her shoulder. "False Deity - Kurohime," he repeated as he saw the words flash above her head before charging towards them.

With the cooldown on one of his favorite skills finally complete, the Guardian shouted out the words, "<Anchor Howl>!" as he stepped in front of the party's opponent, making sure that Kurohime would be focused on him and no other. Once she was close enough, he followed up with his next skill, <Castle of Stone>, to absorb every bit of damage that might have gone to one of the other adventurers. For the next several seconds he would be stuck in place, unable to move or attack the oni back, but at least his party was safe from harm. Now he just had to hope that they could all use the distraction he had created to get in some critical hits. With the lesser oni beginning to crowd around him though, something wide range would probably be the best move for them, or else when his enduring defense finally wore off Convel would be in a lot of trouble.
