Josephine had been one of the late arrivals; her mother had insisted on dropping her off at "basketball camp." She had arrived at the mess hall in just enough time to catch the end of the head counselor's speech, something about purple lanyards and having fun. Jo couldn't help but roll her eyes. Sure, they were at a Summer camp, but she wasn't exactly looking to have fun. The main objective since she first found out about the camp was to learn more about controlling her abilities so that she can blend in with the rest of the world. Having fun was not a priority.

After the counselor's spiel came to an end and she received her schedule and cabin assignment, Josephine found herself lingering in the shadows; she was practically glued to the wall unless she decided to grab a quick snack. Thankfully, no one had tried to approach her. Not that she would have let them. Anyone that glanced in the young woman's direction would have immediately regretted it; her piercing gaze was enough to send a shudder throughout your body. While she stood, she took the time to observe her fellow campers. It was pretty easy to identify a few of the other kids; the vampires stood out with their pale skin and sharp canines. Others, such as the two younger siblings and a young woman with bright pink hair, were harder to guess. A bit of eavesdropping confirmed or corrected her suspicions. Campers that she had yet to figure out included a rather tall, heavy-set man who appeared to be a lot older than the lot.

After a while, Jo decided it would be best for her to head to her cabin and turn in. Her roommate, Natalie, seemed nice enough. Jo simply offered a slight nod and smile before unpacking the majority of her things, putting on pajamas, and climbing into bed. As usual, she was one of the first to wake up the next morning, and was freshly groomed and dressed in time for breakfast and their morning hike. Everything went smoothly as she was used to the physical activity. The most she needed to do afterwards was fluff her curls, change into a pair of sandals, and roll a stick of deodorant under her arms. It was rather humid outside.

Jo wasn't sure what to expect when she entered her physical abilities classroom, but she was certainly pleasantly surprised. From the Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie posters all the way to the starry ceiling, Jo was pleased. She was the second student to enter the class, arriving in just enough time to overhead a blonde, grey-eyed young man ask their vampire counselor something about turning to ash. She listened with fascination as the woman answered.

"Pretty neat," she said with a shrug, "learning this stuff from you, I mean. I wasn't even sure if vampires were an actual thing until a few weeks ago. It makes you question all things you've seen in the movies. You wonder if any of it is even true, or if it's all just complete Hollywood bullsh-" Jo cut herself off at the end of her sentence, unsure if their counselor had a thing for swearing.

Oops.

Emilia smiled gratefully, happy that this man wasn't as scary as he appeared. Bringing her attention back to the girl with the bracelets, Emilia couldn't help but force a sigh out of her body regardless of how uncomfortable it felt. She says that baggage is an excuse...if that's the case then she hasn't truly experienced what pain is...and what's with all this True Seer stuff? Was she suppose to know what that was? Well, yes, her soul was a rare purple (although not as rare as rainbow), but that didn't give her any reason to treat her special, right?

Before she had a chance to stick up for her brother more, the teacher stopped her, diffusing the conversation in only a few sentences. Turning back to the girl, Emilia lowered her gaze before rolling her eyes.
"...Yeah, sure...whatever..." The girl mumbled, turning her attention back to her brother who had yet to raise his head. "Hey...it's okay now...you don't have to worry about it any more, alright?" She whispered while giving him a small smile. The ruby eyed doll turned to look at the girl next to him and nodded, although his expression remained sour. He continued to look down, which only seemed to worry Emilia even more.

Fei...his soul is very different compared to others. It's not like Tempest who had a rainbow color, but instead, he had multiple different colored souls depending on his mood. Yellow for happy, blue for sad, and so on. So for Emilia to see her brother's soul turn black and blue, she feared that it would take a while for him to open up again...

"Most 'Hollywood Bullshit' is based off true stuff, though they tend to make the whole Leoh thing more dramatic than it really is. It's actually because of Hollywood that the public is so scared of us and we can't reveal our existence. I mean, sure, there'd be a few Twilight fans who'd want to bone us, but most people would be terrified." Thelma explained, tipping back in her chair.

Torok watched the others closely as they showed off their ability’s, turning a candle into a flame thrower was something he expected from Tempest she was never a fan of showing off too much. Then the other boy who said he was good with runes it seemed, his note book seemed to flicker to life with animation. Mostly witches it would seem again this year. Still, he figured out he was the only elemental in this class again. He always assumed it wasn’t that bad, having another elemental here could get a bit tricky with training depending on the elements.

After everyone had introduced themselves and Lilac seemed to have a firm grasp on what she was dealing with if she didn’t already. “So Lilac?” he spoke before pausing, “are you going to have some of us, who have been here before go outside and practice our ability’s? Or are you going to make us go through the breathing techniques for control with the new people?” he didn’t mean to sound impatient he simply felt truly uncomfortable in this class room setting and yearned to feel the grass between his toes and the earth beneath his feet.

The class dragged on, and Alice yawned. This class was so...boring. She leaned on her hand, listening to the breathing of others.

I'm so much better than this.

And so, she decided to have a little fun. A small calming breath, and the world came to a standstill. She smiled to herself, standing and picking up the candles frozen in time. She moved them one by one over to the corner of the room, stacking them in a small pyramid. Then, she threw her bracelets away, making sure they weren't easy to find. Never again was she going to suffer that hell! Once all the candles were stacked, she returned to where she was sat, dropping herself down, and with a breath... time started moving again. A butterfly danced above her.

To everyone else in the room, where once was candles suddenly there was none. All the candles in the room were stacked, still lit, in a pyramid in the corner of the room, the flames dancing up along the wax causing them to melt much quicker. It looked quite dangerous.
