I think I want to go with a new team Avatar. I just really like all the creative freedom it gives us and I think we can make something really amazing out of it.

@regitnui If we go with Rosai, would you want to play as them?

@candlelitcraft, I could. I was actually thinking of assigning "roles" like "new Avatar", "Older mentor", "love interest", "chi blocker" and "descendant of older character" (list not final) along with "bending teacher" for each of the elements. That way we'd have great freedom to design the character, but the GM can plan "episodes" around it.

The basic idea I had:
Avatar Korra changed the world. Under her watch, freedom flourished, the world prospered, and people grew closer. As with all things, the time of Avatar Korra on this world ended. And so the Earth Federation, under their Council of States and Prime Governor Wu, sent the Dai Li and White Lotus to comb their towns and villages for the next Avatar to lead them into the new world.

However, the deadline came and went with the new Avatar unrevealed. Tensions simmer across the world, whispers building that the Avatar's work was done, or that they'd left the world for another 100 years. Master Jinora of the Air Nomads withdrew, searching the spirit world for clues. The Fire Nation began a quiet search within their borders, the treacheries of the Dan Li and Earth Empire still strong in their minds. The people began to worry, feeling without the Avatar, another threat may soon rise...

Yet in the depths of the Si-Wong Desert, a girl begins to dream of the outside world...


And thus begins the Legend of Rosai.

Sounds great! The dessert is pretty much the only place left in our world that's still difficult to locate people in, it would make sense that people looking for the avatar wouldn't be able to find them there. Plus, I like the whole "assigning roles" thing. Not only does it help the mods plan the story better, but it kind of goes back to what Avatar Roku told Aang that one time, that some times, a bond of friendship will last multiple lifetimes.

No, I was talking about reincarnation. Like how it's subtly hinted at that Roku's earth bending teacher may have reincarnated into Toff. Different character, same role.

Yeah, I kinda think blood bending should be restricted to NPCs. As for me, I'd rather wait for the roles to be made and then choose one, that way I can design my character around the role.

@regitnui I really love the avatar Rosai thing. Going along with your idea, will this be mainly set in the Si-Wong Desert, or will Rosai reveal herself to the world?

Also, there's still that pesky problem of figuring out an antagonist. Did you have any specific ideas for that, too, that go along with your setting? The antagonist could always be the reason that Rosai reveals her existence.

I'm sorry I'm not being so helpful but I haven't finished LOK yet so... I plan on starting it soon and finishing it as soon as possible. I'll probably have more ideas after that, but it'll also take awhile

I say we outlaw bloodbending. Not only is it highly frowned upon by basically everyone in society, it's an immensely powerful, master-level technique that can only be performed by the most elite water benders under a full moon. In order to be performed in the day without the full moon, it requires one to be from a very specific bloodline (Yakone's bloodline), which (spoiler alert) completely died out with the death of Tarrlok and Noatak (assuming Yakone never had any other kids before he perished in the southern tundra).

Do we want to have the antagonist to be someone Rosai knows? At the risk of spoiling season 3 of Korra (skip this paragraph if you don't want spoilers), we even have the option of the antagonist being a spirit instead of a regular bender, due to the portals at the North and South poles now being open. Perhaps a vengeful spirit seeking to close the portals?

Additionally, if you need someone to play the antagonist, I'd love to portray them.
