Oh Davos won't kill it. Not weakened and pitiful, exhausted by the efforts of the many against its battered and bruised form.

To kill it in a hunt where his will and cunning are put to the test, that is to claim the head of a beast. Toppling such a pristine form of brutish ingenuity from the mountaintop where it has made its perch as an apex. That is a glorious end for worthy beings.

But here on the sand of its home, ringed by bloodthirsty savages.. that is a mercy killing at best.

I think everyone has had a chance to get their blows in on the creature once SirSueaksalot (I love your username by the way) gets his post in. Mr. Monster should be weak enough to deal a finishing blow soon so, unless anyone has any objections, I'll be writing up the final attack after Squeaks. If you want to get any attacks in, go ahead now.

And as we get close to the end of the first hunt, I want to get some opinions before we move on.

Firstly: Should I close off applications? I feel like we have a good amount of characters right now and I'm fine with anyone making and playing new characters if they want. I can always open up applications in the future if need be.

Secondly: Would you guys like to have options for the next hunt so that our characters can split into groups? Or do you like having one large group together on a hunt?

@Nymeria I think we have a good group size for now yes.

Mmm, from what I've seen, having multiple missions means if, for whatever reason, most of the people on said mision leave or don't post for awhile the others get dragged down with them. On a big mission, even if briefly split up, the general direction can be kept forward. Also better/faster group dynamics.

@Nymeria I would like to try and get a post for Libe in by today. I know she already stuck a few arrows into the beast but I want her to at least take a finger or two off to show her fighting style when facing these beasts.

I think we have a decent amount of people right now too.

I like Big hunting parties. That way we can fight a mix of big tough enemies or even being completely outnumbered while still having a fighting chance, and opens up our characters to interesting dynamics.

I vote closed off but take reserves incase afks or dropouts, and a bounty board.

Otherwise we run this same risk of too much meat for one mob, as we scramble to land a telling blow.

Speaking of dropouts...if I can't find a way to slip in here before the end of the week, I'll have to leave - hence why I haven't posted my CS on the CS tab just yet.

I’m in favor of a bounty board, though limit the mount of different quest people can go on. For example after this quest three bounties would be posted so we can choose to either split up into different groups, all mob one mark, etc. it only makes sense that different groups might also be going at a different pace from others too, though for the sake of preventing time paradoxes (group A trails a group for three IC days while group b has an intense fight with their mark for about an hour, both which takes a week OoC), time should flow the same for all groups. If any group lags behind we just have to deal with them; leave behind slow hunters or say they went off to do other stuff.

I know many won’t like the idea of being casted aside for being slow to post, but what else are we to do? Can’t let one player brick the advantage of the RP

Thing is, Abigail's skillset doesn't really fit that of the hunters - and on top of that you're all posting too fast for me to keep up.

Well for the skills all I need you to do is drag Donnel away from what would have been a messy situation, so all she needs to do is be able to haul a 200 lbs man. As for the posting, can’t really do much but collaborate with you whenever possible

I just added a basic summary of what has happened so far in the story on the first page here to try to help with keeping track of things. I'll try to update it as important things happen.

@Lucius Cypher We could do a series of monster bounties that all end up tracing to the same source! That'd be kinda interesting.

@Stitches Hmmm. Perhaps you may not be able to get involved in this fight, but this RP will also be political. Anatasia has a place for survivors! Ehehehe.. (*evil cackles*).

No but srs we rescue you after the fight and some of us get impressed by your survival and perhaps you get either in the political rwalm or start training under one of us and.. (*looks at doc briefly*) oh yeah and we gotta get the crazy hatchet man.

Damn we're a big lot.

@Excal Yeah, I was originally planning on waiting until things slowed down a bit but there's also some deadlines coming up in a couple weeks that are making me a bit jumpy. Oh, and if anyone does want a little protégé following them around (and I manage to get back into the swing of things) then feel free to just...approach Abigail ICly and work it all out.

I'm up for bounty board, with limited slots maybe? This can greatly help plotting how fast/slow the quest would be, as well as help GM in gauging the bounty to be hunted.

eg#1. Bounty 1 is goblin hunt, only 2~3 people can take this quest. Any more players and it might be unsatisfying to massacre the mob.
eg#2. Bounty 2 is werewolf pack hunt, suggested players is 3~5. Considering how dangerous it is to take down even one, a sizeable group is needed. However, if only 1~2 join, then the pack can be turned into just one werewolf.

as for pacing, we used to do a system in our past rp where the cycle is pre-set (everyone must do at least one thing to progress eg. attack, dodge, etc. Banter is free-flowing, as it is considered cosmetic/ flavor.) Anyone who fails to put an action in is put on "autopilot", where they're narrated to be there.

eg. Player A, B, C on a quest. C does not put an action within the cycle, so instead of waiting for him to reply, he is instead put on "autopilot" where he is narrated to have just been in the quest all along, either a bystander or has done a generic move.

@Migyudon That... actually sounds like a really great idea! Assuming everyone agrees to allow their char's to be auto-piloted. Maybe they summarise their action in case they don't post in time or will be delayed.
