Are we allowed to do a little bit of damage to the monster? I have two stacks I want to land that might help us win this fight even if t won’t kill the monster immediately.

@Stitches What if your char has some inside info on the beastie after spying on it and comes out to stop the hunters and warn them?

@Ryonara That's what Im wondering. I unloaded a volley of gunfire and held back on what that did or the spear circle. Don't wanna end the fight too soon right?

There seems to be 2 moving parts, most of the group is now part of the encirclement, while others are about to charge with, from my understanding, a big bear trap strapped to a shield, coated in poison. Maybe begin searching for the nest or throw yourself into the encirclement plan.

@RyonaraI would say yes as long as it's not a fatal attack. Similar to my post, you can land blows that injure it but this creature is very strong. It should last a while. Also take note that Drystan is very experienced and insanely strong because of the Titan potion he takes.

EDIT: Same goes for everyone. Just be careful not to overdo the damage you cause in fights. I'm thinking that the landing blow will end up being after the creature has fallen into the trap on the beach.

@Stitches I agree with Excal. Or you could literally just jump into the fight. Or go help with the trap the other are setting up.

Thank you, I’ll keep that in mind. While Libe landed some pretty clean blows the fact that she isn’t as strong as Drystan prevents her attack from doing any harm. She’ll have to take advantage of the damage he already did to do any damage.

@Excal No, that's fine. I figure only some of the blows land anyway. Blunderbusses aren't known for their accuracy.

Aight Im on bus bit will edit in damage and npc cannon fodder deaths in a jiffy.

Edit: Alright, damage post up, only npcs died/got hurt.

We'll need someone to draw the creature to the beach/trap, since those engaged in battle with it at the moment are probably too preoccupied to realize that it's been set up.

And the big question is......who should get the honor of striking the finishing blow?

@SirSqueakalot91 You doing okay? Do you want us to wait for you to continue on or are you too busy? I can write up a quick update on the goings on if that helps.

Quick Summary

Anastasia killed the creature Jericho was fighting in a rather gruesome way. Two of her guards grabbed it by the arms to hold it still while Anastasia grabbed it's jaw and broke it's spine with her knee. She then tore the top part of it's head off while her guards tore it's arms off.

Back in the city, Commander Grux saw the ship sinking and is getting ready to sail out to assist after sending a guard running back to the King to tell him what's happening.
Irelia killed an ogre through trappings and arrows and brought it back to the guards for a reward.

Captain Drystan killed the largest of the spawns before the main creature showed up and announced its presence to anyone around with a loud shriek.

Donnel killed the last of the creature's spawns using his hook and shield. He propositioned Davos about setting a trap for the creature.

Iva shot two poisoned arrows at the big creature which bounced off it's chin. She then approached Donnel and Davos and offered the a vial of poison.

Libe was caught off guard by the gore but regained her composure. She went with Anastasia and her pose to where the Captain and the creature were fighting.

Zande is spectating.

Drystan showed off his prowess fighting the creature, injuring it a number of times with just a dagger. None of the injuries were fatal, though.

Anastasia brought her group to the fight and created a line of fighters firing blunderbusses at it before switching to poleaxes and surrounding it. It killed a number of npc guards.

Davos set up a trap with Donnel using a trap similar to a bear trap, with metal teeth that would clamp down once triggered. They are going to use Iva's poison and Donnel's shield to try to get it to clamp down on the creatures legs.

Libe regained Iva's poisoned arrows and stabbed them into the wounds Drystan had opened up.

Correct me if I got anything wrong.

@Zelosse I'm fine with the logic of it as long as it has a reason to look in that direction while being bombarded with attacks.

Yeah, sorry. I’m used to working nights (11 pm-7 am) and my new job is having me work mornings (7 am-3 pm). I’m trying to get used to my new sleep schedule and worried that I won’t make a good post. Luckily, I’ll be at a doctors appointment for one of my residents, and will have nothing to do but sit in a waiting room. Should be able to make a post then. Then update should help a lot.

@SirSqueakalot91 Aw, I know how that gets DX, I do night shifts and fire watches as a guard and in mili. Hope you adjust well! I'll hold off on my post til you're back.

Given how the battle's going, I'll have Ani and her band of hunters impaire it's weakened body and open it for a final assault, which I think should be dealt by a combination of @Nymeria and @Zelosse.

Or, even better, let's have Jericho spear it's head with the trident!
