Taratis vote for Taratio.

Besides, why fight for the weaker force. If you join the stringer force then there's a chance you might not fight, therefore you get paid for doing nothing. Why take the risk?

@TrivvalIf I was in charge and had the biggest army, and a rag-tag group of homeless outcasts wanted to join up, I would either kick them out because they were below my pay grade or make them do the worst or most dangerous jobs. I have a big shiny army of trained soldiers with uniforms and everything. There is absolutely no way I'm going to bring on a handful of mercenaries, some of whom aren't even fighters, and pay them to do nothing.

If you've got your army and they're that good why waste troops doing the shit jobs. Supply train guarding, garrisoning some shithole as your troops move through to continue the war. Sure we're not going to be paid to do nothing but getting paid to do shit tasks and maybe fight (but surrounded by a larger host) is better than putting your life on the line when you're outnumbered. I'm sure we're not the only mercenary band and we've got a reputation that goes back long way. Sure we hire brigands and such but who doesn't.

And I mean... who wouldn't send us on the worst and most dangerous missions. Mercenaries right? I'd feel safer being part of a larger army than a smaller one.

@TrivvalYou're suggesting that we roleplay as mercenaries in an RP set during a medieval war and not be directly involved in the war? There's no fun or glory in going with the strongest army specifically so you can feel safe and do bum jobs while the others are doing all the fighting. That's NPC stuff.

Nope, but who fights for glory? That's such an outdated concept. Glory gets you killed. Fighting gets you killed. Living gets you gold. I know the RP would never end up rolling that way, but the poll was who we wanna fight for. You were asking why, I gave my answer with consideration of what my character would want to do.

I remember spending 12 days in Canada about 20 years ago. It rained nine of those twelve days. I slept in the rain, ate meals in the rain and patrolled in the rain. I got so accustomed to being wet, I never use an umbrella. An Inn. that's pretty funny.
